OT1 index had many of the same problems, they just weren't flanderized to the same extent they are now.

As I said, the only negative attention 545 has gotten to this point has been entirely related to people getting baited by shipping shit (Accelerator will leave the clones forever now!) or getting mad at shipping shit (here's my essay on why Will was lying and my ship wasn't shot down), it doesn't really matter where the question came from, to have such a short timeframe associated with a character, and already be sick of them, especially while fully acknowledging you are well aware of all the potential that there is for a character, reeks of being triggered by one thing or another. There's plenty of candidates that really don't have anywhere else to go without Kamachi uncomfortably forcing them back into the story like he did with Misaki recently though, like Index, Othinus, and frankly Hamazura. That Dion mini-adventure covered the last vestige of relevance he could possibly have, Accelerator will ensure his safety in AC, and it was already kind of contrived how he got the suit in NT19. I think his time as a protagonist should be over so we can move on.

Accelerator told Hamazura his position but not Touma. It's pretty clear if he's going to get called up by Accel at some point.

He mentioned in the afterword of the final ZW volume that he had the endings for his other series in mind from the start, but he didn't specify in how much detail or what aspects of it exactly. So it really doesn't tell us what, if anything, was set in stone from the first volumes.

Season 3 just happens to be the worst of it, since the first two had the fortitude to fix a lot of the QUALITY in the BD releases, while season 3 actually fixes very little and even creates new errors. A lot of the impact of previous seasons was the very good sound directing that compensated for visuals at times. Season 3 has very awkward and poor sound direction, alternating between making SFX unnecessarily loud and low quality, or very very quiet, removing impact from certain scenes, like Touma's punches.

Season 3 is also by far the ugliest of the seasons, and crammed more volumes into it than the previous two. (And still skipped an entire volume even then) To make matters worse, some of the volumes covered were some of the more exciting and action packed arcs of the first 24 volumes. I wouldn't have put OT15 at the top, but I certainly wouldn't have put it towards the bottom. Thanks to how the anime adapted it, it unironically got memed into near-skip tier as being one of the worst arcs of the anime, if not the worst. Nagai-space and Ice Boats may be unironically more pleasing aesthetically and in terms of the narrative flow of the animated versions of these arcs.

The best thing we got out of Index iii is the hope of full franchise adaptation.
