A shitton of manly adventures and violence. Unlike most series, HnK doesn't waste time with stupid bullshit like characters sitting around in diners talking about their feelings, or boring bottle episodes.
Kenshiro, Toki, and Rei are some of the best heroes ever. Raoh, Shin, Jagi, and Souther are absolutely based villains. The soundtrack is also top-notch.
Kenshiro can be kind of a dull character at times, but he makes up for it by completely sidestepping the "If you kill him, you will be just like him" bullshit. He feels sympathy for tragic villains, and gives mooks a chance to run, but kills evil assholes without a second thought. He's also a masculine badass instead of a comedic dork like most cartoon protagonists.
HnK2 is kinda lame and fanfiction-esque in spots, but it's worth a watch.
You will cry at every death scene.

As it goes on, the series takes more of an epic nature. The animation and music improve immensely.
It starts fun and silly and awesome, and begins to conclude as it grows more and more beautiful.
You won't regret it.
