Time for the real debate. Anime or Manga? Why?

Time for the real debate. Anime or Manga? Why?

sometimes it depends on the series, but usually manga. The art is better and it represents the authors original vision the best,

Maaaybe. I feel like battle manga is very jumbled and hard to make out what the fuck is happening.

again, it depends on the series, some authors are really good at conveying the flow of action and some aren't

Depends.
I prefer anime because it's a more immersive experience. Voice acting and OST make a huge difference. Full-color and animation also helps you get into it. I watch anime to feel the emotions of the characters, so the more I can immerse the more enjoyable it is
Manga is usually visually superior, at least with backgrounds. Manga is a lot easier to pick up and start reading, you're not confined by a set runtime, you can choose to read at your own pace. There's also more variety in manga.

In terms of adaptations, I usually enjoy it more when I watch the anime, then read the manga if I want more of it. That way I've already formed a bond with the characters due to the anime's superior immersion. Then I get to enjoy their story past the anime.

I'd say that anime typically adds more to a manga. Voices are a huge one. If you read a manga first then watch the anime, you have the potential to dislike the additions like voices. I think it's things like that that cause people to dislike most adaptations.

They're in japanese, retard.

You're doing it wrong.

Come again?

I'm not sure how you can be pulled out of the experience from manga to anime if the voices are in japanese to begin with. The "they sounded different in my head" doesn't work there.

Is this something people don't do?
You don't need to know the language to imagine how they sound.

You've never read a manga then not liked the VA because it's not what you had in mind?

Manga is comfier/less demanding but it can't really compete. It's basically a script vs the final piece of art.

When the world goes to shit and we're in a nuclear halocaust, manga will still be around.

Manga or LN 90% of the time.

I generally feel similar. Any potential losses from the artwork is generally made up for by the addition of the OST and voices. In some cases moments that were fairly throwaway in the manga can become more significant through the music to me.
I've gone through enough series where I've done both the anime and manga in either order and generally it takes a huge fuck up with the story like Hanebado did to make the anime worse.

Pretty much. There's also the problem of having the wrong expectations. People shouldn't expect the anime to be a 1:1 adaptation, some things are gonna be a bit different for whatever reasons.

Manga. I choose the speed,

PS Games and books are better for the same reason.
