Was there even a chance for Ash to win this if he fielded his best team? The one he used in that match certainly wasn't.
If he used his current possible best team he would have had a real chance of winning but at the time no.
Tobias didn't even use most of his team, so probably not
Tobias literally only exist to beat everyone.
not cynthia
> Darkrai
> Latios
kek hell no, at best he would get to his 4th Pokémon.
Ash could make it to the end of the league and beat the Champion but they'd still deny him his championship for some arbitrary reason like "Foreigners can't be Pokemon Champion"
They never battled. Time in Pokemon world passes strangely.
Yeah, Ash would need some legendary tier mon to have a chance. Maybe if he gets Melmetal.
If Ash got a couple of the legendaries that he was buddy buddies with to help him he would've steamrolled that faggot.
No because Ash is not allowed to win.
The only one that comes to my mind is the Latias in Altomare. He wasn't really that close to the others.
throw in charizard and snorlax, the odds go up tremendously.
>Was there even a chance for Ash to win this if he fielded his best team?
Realistically? Probably not. Ideally if he could have used Pikachu to knock out Latios before his other pokemon fainted he might had a chance if Tobias' pokemon weren't legendary. We'll never know what other pokemon he had though.
and he totally made out with it.
What? He has 6 pokemons? Fuck that if it's all legendary.
What are your honest thoughts on this rivalry?
Tobias probably went back to Distortion World or some kind of alternate dimension after he won Lily of the Valley Conference. Tobias ruined Pokemon Trainer power levels for me and everyone else. Everytime the Pokemon games, manga, and anime hyping up some Champ or a very skilled Ace Trainer, everyone knows that Tobias will always be better than them.
imagine him having 1 non-legendary on the team just to fool his enemy and as a 4th he pulls out a fucking rayquaza
"i'm curious whether you will get past him. i haven't used my mewtwo in a while..."
Can't blame him. She was cute.
kino
You forgot Gliscor and Infernape but they're not available since they're still recovering after their match against Paul at that time.
Fucking based, and it angers me most people haven't seen D/P subbed. The soundtrack usage, the passion behind voices. I watched it as it aired and had amazing time.
I want him back.
Still the best, Ash vs Paul is pure kino.
That was a travesty. I would have loved to see Infernape against Darkrai.
So Tobias has Darkrai and Latios. Realistically speaking what could his remaining four pokemons left be?
That's a garbage fucking team, holy shit.
>the odds go up tremendously.
Yeah, he loses 3-6
That's nothing compared to this
God I always hated how Ash never had a team of fully evolved pokemon (pikachu doesn't count) until XY
That Drapion was a beast.
If Gible were a Garchomp he could have defeated Latios.
Heatran
Zapdos
Suicune
Latias
Just replace Gible and Torkoal with Charizard and Snorlax but Charizard wasn't probably available as well during that time. I'm still salty why Ash didn't include Snorlax in the semi-finals match since Snorlax has experience fighting pokemons with sleep inducing moves and we saw Ash use Snorlax against some unknown trainer in this very same conference.
I bet he joined the league to grind levels and they were all shitters with exp shares
Even worse, Cameron was handicapped with only 5 mons.
Seems reasonable. Mid tier legends but nothing like a Mega Rayquaza or Hoopa Unbound there.
There was an unkown trainer with a fucking Heatran in the same Sinnoh Conference.
>3 Hoenn mon
No wonder he lost, remember that time he lost to a meowth wearing a hat?
user, Ash's Sceptile is the only pokemon who managed to beat Darkrai.
>gible
evry time
That one was weird. How was that Meowth's electric attacks rivaling Pikachu's with its STAB?
I guess the power of love and friendship is no match against strong pokemon. Based Gary the Harem King was always right
His asspull Greninja would be able to take them on 1 vs 1 easily.
Real talk, does ash actually have a chance this time or will he lose to Gladion or some shit
fugg i have 60 episodes to catch up on
Why? It had a terrible track record.
Nobody cares about that meme league.
Does it really matter? It's some small ass farmers league. Anybody could enter, even some kid with his rattata and most of the shitters that are left don't even have more than 2 pokemon and just have a bunch of NFE shitmons.
It'll likely end with Guzma vs Kukui.
No it doesn't, it has fought pokemon far stronger than Ash has ever battled previously (Mega Diantha and Mega Charizard) and was able to hold his own.
This is my personal guess
>Phione
>Cresselia
>Raikou
>Latias
God sinnohmon are so ugly.
Yeah, its Orange Islands tier.
Paul would curbstomp everyone in this shitty league, pathetic.
Not even that. At least in the orange league the final battle was a proper 6 vs 6.
best pokemon trainer around goes and captures legendary pokemon like a boss
Wait what? The Alolan League doesn't have 6 v 6 matches?
lol, the top 8 are fucking 1 vs 1 lmao. The final will be 3 vs 3 at best.
does ash even have 6 pokemon in this series?
no
>Sun and Moon sat on Guzma
>he's the coolest fucking character when they finally introduce him
Guzma the most likely to get to the final has 2 mons. That "league" is laughable.
Why won't he just use his strongest pokemon and sweep? From a story standpoint that is.
I can't think of an in universe reason, but the meta reason is pretty obvious
SM Ash's Team is so fucking shit, at least he had Heracross for Johto.
What's even the point of fucking 1/1s in Pokemon? This becomes a lottery, the whole point is building a strong team when members cover for other's weaknesses.
He wants to challenge himself or something.
Even worse, the finals will be 1 vs 1 as well.
Because he's not a Paul tryhard and he also wants to give his new pokemon from the new region a chance to compete.
That always bugged so much, did they just forget that Heatran is a powerful legendary?
Hey bruh its the laid back island league you need to chill and just go with the tiki flow.
>that league
Pathetic.
They are keeping the 6 vs 6 for the Masked Royal battle.
Ash nor the main cast doesn't even have 6 pokemons and we all know Ash is going to bench his old mons again.
To be fair who the fucks remembers
Is there any other example? MCs eventually defeat their final boss, Ash is never getting a rematch.
Does anyone ever have this many?
People make a too big of a deal out of legendaries. They're strong the anime yes but if Ash's newly evolved Noivern and Hawlucha was able to fuck with a Zapdos.
in* even*
What's Ash's team this league? Who will he lose to this time?
Berserk
>Gible
I didn't even remember he even had one. What a wasted chance to give Ash a real pokemon. Couldn't it at least be a Gabite?
This character ruined Pokemon for me. Never watched it again because I knew Ash will never achieve something. He should have won but the writers decided to make the dumbest character ever. I check every 4 years if this character ever appeared again and this fucker never came back
Gible was basically a joke.
Its main thing was trying to learn Draco Meteor, which led to a gag of it messing up its control and the attack landing on Piplup in the sidelines over and over.
it's not a real league, so he probably will win just like with the orange islands.
youtube.com
Are you still mad?
Plot armor for being a protagonist.
Where the fuck is that "plot armor" when Ash needs it the most?
no, that's alain. dude has an unbeatable charizard he uses to crush literally everyone in his path INCLUDING elite 4 members.
The fuck was that Mega Shuriken? It did fuck all with Charizard ending like nothing happened.
Stop thinking like a smogonigglet
>Heracross
Powerhouse, counter against Darkrai
>Sceptile
Powerhouse
>Swellow
Powerhouse in Hoenn
>Gible
Shilled powerhouse
>Pikachu
His starter
>Torkoal
The only weird pick. Jobbed the most.
I remember now, thanks. Still, the fact he even used it in the most important battle is baffling. Anyone remember the reaction back then?
He jobbed against Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon though
Gible was trying to be set up as a powerhouse, they made Heracross job and Tobias didn't complement Heracross for the sleep talk guts supereffective megahorn but complimented Gible for a shitty draco meteor. I think Rock Smash did more damage than Megahorn KEK
the theme was so beast holy shit
Sleep Talk Guts Heracross not doing the job, or at least doing better than it did, was bullshit when its literally THE way to beat a Darkrai
zommie dettected. SO EPIC ASH SP MATURE AND GOOD XY BESTT
Is it really jobbing to lose to literally the strongest 2 pokemon in existence?
>unironically using fucking "zommie" on Yea Forums
Go back
He's a shitty trainer who thinks making friends with his pokemon and catching/raising strong pokemon are mutually exclusive.
>protagonist is somewhat competent for once
>WHY DO YOU LIKE THAT ZOOMER!!!!!
People need to stop shitting on the Orange League imo. Yes, it's not in the games. So? It's in the Anime. And it had shit that had lasting impact, like Charizard starting to obey and Ash capturing Snorlax.
The Final battle vs Drake was also really fucking good and Ash won fair and square.
>Sceptile is the worst of the Hoenn starters
>Swellow is a worse version of Pidgeot, an already subpar flying type
>Torkoal has no reason to be on any competitive team ever
>Pikachu has always been a terrible pokemon
>Heracross's sleep talk guts supereffective megahorn
And then it took 3 more pokemon to bring it down. Absolute bullshit.
>protagonist is somewhat competent for once
>for once
Ash peaked at Sinnoh League as a pokemon trainer.
It kind of amazes me that the orange island cup isn't a DLC nowadays. It has "regional" variants (pink), an island thematic and JOOOHTOOOO vibes.
go back to Yea Forums
>They could have made this fight at least a bit interesting by adding in snorlax.
I'm still mad
>pokemon games
>DLC
>extra content
Game tiers =/= Anime tiers
You can't compare the two really.
His Pikachu alone shouldn't be able to win half the fights it does. And that's without meme shit like KOing Rhydon.
His Sceptile is a beast. His Heracross is a beast. His Snorlax is a monster.
>pokemon after gen 3
>mega evolutions
>this new gigantification shit
Ash at Lily of the Valley Conference
>actually use the pokemons that he caught from his past adventures and form a strategy behind their line ups with his new mons instead of just benching them for the rest of the league
>we've also seen Ash switching his party pokemons from the ones at Oak's lab and bring them at Sinnoh to train them in preparation for the League's upcoming matches
>constantly switch his pokemons during battles everytime that they're at a disadvantage
>beat his asshole of a rival with the same pokemon he released
>Tobias was literally created in order to prevent him from winning because the writers doesn't know how to stop Ash at this point
>beat Darkrai
>knock Latios out
Ash at Lumiose Conference
>UNGA BUNGA POKEMON BATERU TANOSHII ZEEEE!!!11!1!
The real Ash died in DP series.
gens 4 and 5 are the peak of the series nostalgafag
>You can't compare the two really
I absolutely can. Winning a few fights against some random scrubs doesn't make his pokemon good, any more than the fact that a few of them can hold off legendaries for contrived plot reasons makes them comparable in strength. But even if we want to ignore the fact that he's fielding shitmons, the underlying point remains that he doesn't win tournaments. Why does he not win at tournaments? Because instead of picking 6 pokemon and training them up, he just brings in whatever trash he picked up that week without giving any thought to synergy or strategy or team composition.
Tobias was the Apex trainer of Pokemon anime, he suddenly showed up out of nowhere curbstomping everyone with his Darkrai.
yea you're right who could forget these iconic designs. Things like aaahhhhh.... the penguin? oh and the humanoid bunny id like to fuck
Meltan
Lycanrock Dust Form
Meme bird
Pikachu
Before bara cat
Honestly if Ash evolve his meltan then he practically win this league
He can still call his reserves for a sixth mon, right? It wouldn't be a real final with just 5.
>youtube.com
DORAGON CRO
Accidental quote is kinda relevant I guess
Yes, Ash literally have no excuse to lose after that Tobias match.
Doesn't Ash have a fully evolved ice type?
There was a Nurse Joy with a Latias lmao. Tobias probably has a young Lugia or something.
Glalie, he never used it after Hoenn for some reason
If this really the league's competitors some gym leaders a friend, a rival, Oaks cousin, some ex villains and team rocket?
He will job to Hau
youtube.com
Its a joke league. Fresh out of school fags like Lillie make it to top 16 while kanto Ash barely made it to top 16 without Z moves and battling through gyms.
I really want to see him lose to based Mina or tanned Oak
I am still laughing to this day.
It's been 3 fucking years and no matter how many times I see this image I still get a decent chuckle out of it.
Sleep Talk Heracross was fucking brilliant, I wish he was the one who took out Darkrai.
Talking shit about gen 4.
I'd rather see Ash lose to Tobias again than fucking Alain.
>This is a pokemon league line up
Jesus fuck Alola is so shit.
Worst part is I can think of all the dumb ways they could make him lose this Gladion stomps him with his Pseudo god pokemon, Oaks cousin has a well built team, Hau might have a good time, or based Guzma with Golisopod
>complimented Gible for a shitty draco meteor
So that means Tobias probably has a Rayquaza, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina.
Pokemon is the perfect wage cuck series. Like a Ash the wage cuck never wins anything.
No matter how hard he tries someone stronger and better pulls up out of nowhere.
The only victory's a wage cuck and Ash will ever have are just minor and non important.
If the wage cuck starts in a new company you can compare it to a fresh start into a new Region. They will meet new interesting people, but in the end they both get cucked.
Pokemon helps the wage cuck to accept this fait. Ash is always happy and excited in the beginning of a new Region, even though he knows, just as the wage cuck, he will never win.
Go back
...
>Mega Diantha
The fucking Chalizard was hurt by Pikachu and then still took out Mega Greninja like it was nothing.
That was such bullshit that made me stop watching pokemon right there.
That lizard had unlimited health. It didn't even end up tired after thrashing the frog.
Cool rivalry but
>A fucking Buizel
Why?
It stumbled. If Greninja lived and struck again, Ash would have one.
he cute
The only ones who actually matter are Ash, Gladion, Guzma, and Ilima
Everyone else is super irrelevant
Jesus Ash learn to fucking evolve your mons.
Stop this fucking nonsense your stupid Bulbasaur taught you because it was a retard
>2 Stage 2 out of 3 Mons
>2 Stage 1s of 3 mons barring Pikachu
>Only fully evolved is one of the worst Starter Birds in the franchise
No wonder you fucking lost, Cameron at least evolves his fucking Mons
Even if he did win, nobody would give a shit after XY. That was the perfect time for him to win; he was smart, he evolved his pokemon, the league had bigger build up then any other season, but no. Any attempt to make him win now would just be damage control from the shit they got last season, this shit ain't even a league
Based purely on form and not stats, which do you think is the most powerful starter evolution?
I've got to go with Feraligatr. Yuge, swole and more maneuverable/brawly than the other big guys.
I wish I dropped that I'd dropped it back then. It was even worse in Kalos
Stupid. Gliscor destroys Paul's entire team except for Froslass
I don’t even know why they do this. I understand shit like Oshawott and Rowlet since they’re a lot more popular than their final stage, but nobody fucking cares about first/mid stage shitmons like Buizel, Gible, Boldore or Palpitoad so it’s not like marketing is being hurt by them fully evolving
>tfw the closest Ash has ever gotten to getting laid was with a pokémon
WHAT!?
THAT FUCKER COULDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO CATCH 6 FUCKING MONS!?
What happened to that guy? Did he lost to Cynthia or one of the E4?
Floatzel looks fucking dumb, though
They both look dumb. So at least go for the dumb that has higher stats
I stopped getting the point of the anime as soon as Johto. Why bother watching if it always has to go back to a status quo every new Gen?
When I heard about I was surprised that anyone thought it would end any differently.
>Charizard
>Snorlax
>Sceptile
>Infernape
>Krookodile
>Greninja
Fuck Pikachu, Ash will never win a League until he's not using this line-up.
But Pikachu destroyed 2 pseudos in the last final. He needs to be in.
The top 8 right now are:
>Ash
>Gladion
>Guzma
>Hau
>Kiawe
>Lana
>Sophocles
>James
The top 8 is a 1v1 competition and the semi's will likely be a 3v3.
Ash is making it to the finals again and will either win or lose against Guzma. It all depends on the story they want to tell/how they want to set up Sword and Shield.
Krookodile would btfo Tyranitar and Metagross even harder than Pikachu did.
FUCKING JAMES IS IN THE TOP EIGHT!?
HOW FUCKING BAD OF A LEAGUE DO YOU HAVE TO BE!?
>2 Fire Types
Mother fucker, do you even Coverage?
Has Ash ever owned a psychic type?
Who cares, Ash's Infernape and Charizard is good and both are dual types at least.
The elimination round was a battle royale of 151 trainers using a single Pokemon. When only 16 trainers were left they made it to the victory rounds which wound up being Top 16 happened and these are your top eight. Only 4 of these trainers have more then 3 Pokemon so they'll be moving onto the semi's - Ash, Guzma, Kiawe and Gladion.
Guzma steamrolls Kiawe and Ash beats Gladion.
Ash VS Guzma in the finals, who wins however is up in the air.
The League is an absolute joke.
youtube.com
Reminder that Tobias never appeared again, not even on the league compilation video.
Yes, he had Solgaleo's line for a while.
A fighting type is taking out half of that team.
Fuck you, Floatzel is fucking cool
Darkrai showed up at least.
Type advantages doesn't fucking matter in the anime.
This is the equivalent of the UEFA Nations League on relevance. A complete meme.
I don't even know what that is.
Wait, where the fuck is Ilima? Don't tell me that James and Sophocles got higher than him
Do you honestly the people who are giving us Sword and Shield care what people want?
Exactly
Jobbed to Guzma in the Top 16, Guzma's Scizor VS Illma's Mega Khangeskahn.
His opponent was Jessie so there is your explanation.
Got his ass kicked by Guzma who used an actual strategy.
I've been thinking about this fight lately, so this thread comes as a surprise.
Of all the people to ever defeat Ash in this fashion, I think Tobias was the most acceptable.
Kind of a shame since the last battle is legitimately very good and featured a competent Ash who played type advantages throughout. He's actually more competent than IL or Johto Ash. And he fucking won.
The only oddness was Dragonite having like 8 different moves.
It's not that it's an anime only league.
It's that's it the short bus of leagues.
>Only 4 Gyms
>You don't even have to battle to get badges
Yes I know Ash gets badges without fighting, but that's stupid to begin with.
Why the fuck was he allowed to use a legendary pokemon in the tournament???
There should be rules against that shit.
>ash has the absolute perfect counter in sleep talk heracross
>NO THAT WOULD MAKE DARKRAI LOOK WEAK BAD MAKE IT DO NOTHING
>most acceptable
Holy shit, I'm glad I skipped Gen 5.
Why don't the other trainers just catch Legendary Pokemon too if they can? It's not Tobias fault that he's too good.
Okay, I forgot about Harrison. Harrison was cool.
But, compared to Charizard falling asleep, a Meowth in a cowboy hat, and a Riolu evolving at the last minute in a battle wherein is opponent wasn't even using 6 Pokemon, I think Tobias stands out for his presence alone.
I like him better than Alain, even though you could argue that Alain was presented better from a writing standpoint. I really, really don't like how Alain cucked the win. Something about it just irks me, whereas with Tobias, I'm alright.
Sceptile was the Charizard/Infernape/Greninja/etc of Hoenn in the anime. Its easily one of his strongest pokemon. The real reason why he doesn't win in the pokemon league has to do with the producers anyway. Same thing with May/Dawn/Serena losing in their contests at the end.
Fairly decent Rivalry, but Paul is an overall garbage character
Wasn't he like one of the only characters that was set up before this league shit even started? This is such fucking bullshit, he should have been on of Ash's rivals
Re-read what I said.
Guzma is set up to be the main antagonist in the league so not really.
It was to make Guzma more dangerous by defeating the favorite to win without using shit like Z-Moves or Megas.
>X-Scissor
>Fire Fang
>Giga Impact
>Stone Edge
Not with the moveset it had.
The one with Harrison is also bullshit, the writers only let Blaziken win to shill Gen III.
it solidified KAAAAAANTOOOOO but really that shit was just depressing, it really was set up to be the time Ash finally won, he had a love interest, it was the 20th anniversary and the rumors that the next region wasn't going to have gyms felt like they were gonna end Ash's story and start up a new one
BUT BASTO BURNO
Legends like Trio birds are nothing compared to Pokemon like Dialga and Kyogre.
Legends like the trio birds are stronger than the average Pokemon. Dialga, Groudon, and Arceus are God tier
you know at least ash actually beat the battle frontier
too bad they never did anything with that and just needed to pad out time for DP
Why?
kino
Well see the problem is...even the animators thought it was ending differently.
It was going to be an Ash win. But the higher ups caught on and said
>'NO, WAIT ASH CAN'T WIN THE LEAGUE. THEN CHILDREN WILL THINK THEIR DREAMS WILL COME TRUE IF THEY TRY HARD ENOUGH AND THE ANIME WILL END AND ALL OUR MONEY WILL MAGICALLY VANISH! SHUT IT DOWN!'
>'But he'd still have to face the Eli-'
>'SHUT IT DOWN BEFORE I TURN YOUR 2 YEN AN HOUR PAYCHECK TO A 1 YEN AN HOUR PAYCHECK!'
He's far too extreme for what he is. His reason to be is gutter trash, at least for the context of him. He's a borderline abusive trainer and has little to no pathos to him. Largely one dimensional character.
His whole reason of becoming the way he is because his older brother didn't meet his standards.
He only serves well as being a foil to Ash and being a wall for Ash to overcome.
Ash vs Casey is the canon reason
bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net
The Pokemon Ranger special in the same season.
>Oh no! We gotta save Heatran from falling MAGMA
Kek
Don't forget that the "league" proper consisted of fighting just a single opponent.
You know what the funniest part is about ash jobbing at the league.
It isn't even the real league proper.
The winner of the tourney gets the right to participate in the champion's league which is the elite four challenge+chamion fight we know of in the game.
Ash literally jobs every fucking time to the anime equivelant of the victory road.
other than the 2 grass types and meowth, Tyson's team is pretty based
pikachu and sceptile are fucking strong, so is gible which even knew draco meteor. swellow and heracross also where pretty reliable in past battles
torkoal is trash though
I actually did forget that
lycanroc is hella based, so is rowlett, hell even meltan has proven to be fairly strong.
its not only the orange league, there is also the battle frontier
>ash brings back old mons like snorlax,
>tons of fights filled with strategy culminating with ash beating regice
beating gary in johto, beating the orange league, beating the frontier and beating pawl, the first 1-4 generations all have their fair share of success and greatness, people who think X/Y where the only ones with a competent ash are out of their minds.
B/W could have made up for the terrible league with the filled that followed after (decolora) but they instead just decided to give us random filler islands (which some eps are genuinely fun) but that is why B/W feels so hollow, it has no true rewarding end for ash.
>hella
go back
It'll end with Ass and Paul in the the finals with Eevee dabbing on Pikachu. Predictable shit.

>If he used his current possible best team he would have had a real chance of winning
lol, no. His real opponent is the writing team. It wouldn't matter if he had fucking Galactus and Demonbane in his pokeballs, if the writers don't want him to win he's not going to win.
>I have been on Yea Forums since 2004
sure you have. Go back to Yea Forums or whatever shit board you came from.
Ilima already lost
I remember reading somewhere that the people behind the anime gave Drake's Dragonite 8-10 moves to show "powerful" it is
Something shit because Tobias does say Gible's Draco Meteor would have destroyed all his pokemons except Darkrai.
>implying Gible's Draco Meteor can hurt Latios
that's just pity congrat
see you tomorrow on another Yea Forums thread like we probably already have for the last 10 years, except maybe in the different thread we will be pals we will not argue about this, actually who knows how many times we have exchanged replies now? this could be the first or the 50th time we exchange words but we will never know.
Holy shit you're trying hard. Literally fuck off and stop being so upset.
Didn't Cameron:
>not use Watchog against Ash because he thought Full Battles were 5v5
>switch Swanna directly into Pikachu, with predictable results
>switch Ferrothorn directly into Pignite, with predictable results
It was basically a 3v6 and the dumbest trainer in all Unova still won thanks to Hydreigon and Lucario carrying hard.
Oh, and then he went on to job to the Eeveefag in the next round, right?
job implying it was unpredictable result, but it isnt
It's a fucking water type that jobbed to a fire type. It's a top tier bitch and nothing else.
Boomer
Hey now, one featured a double battle way before Gen 3. Against the mommy and her Alakazam/Marowak.
At least Ash knocked out 2 of his pokemon.
No one else could get past the first one.
Only reason asspull greninja lost was because he didn't hold hands with Ash during the battle
Mega Charizard X is fire/dragon so it's neutral to water and Charizard had thunder punch while Greninja had no super effective moves (only fucking ground, rock and dragon moves are super effective against Mega Charizard X and Greninja can't learn any).
Fucking retard.
That was just karma.
In the match before asspullfrog defeated a mega sceptile which is 4x resistant to water with fucking water shuriken.
We call that a hollow victory, doesn't even matter because Tobias doesn't even exist anymore.
Zekrom
Shaymin
Tornadus
Entei
Fire/Dragon isn't weak to Water. Hell, neither Mega Charizard actually takes the full 200% from Water that a Fire-type should under standard conditions.
In a related note, Blastoise got shafted so hard in the Mega department it's almost embarrassing. Watch the same thing happen again in Sword and Shield since Leon's ace is going to be Charizard and it's going to get a Gigantamax form.
>defeated a mega sceptile which is 4x resistant to water with fucking water shuriken.
After beating the shit out of it with several super effective aerial aces.
shitty league for shitty season
so he just looses when he gets to victory road? lol jesus what does ash use? level 40 and stops?
>level 40 and stops
Pretty much hell half his mons aren't even fully evolved.
I mean just look at the absolute disgrace that his current team is
That's not his current team. The purple dude got released.
The difference between pokemon and super is that at least the writers doubled down and didn't make Ash asspull his way to victory
They gotta stay small and cute to sell merch dude.
They were pretty big last season
Yeah but that only happened cause the writers were fucking incompetent
Rowlett swallowed an Everstone, the Ultra Beast got replaced with a Meltan.
Ash doesn’t even have a full team right now.
No, you're just a retard that don't know type matchups.
What is the Job Frog up to these days?
Sorry try again bud, everybody knows that Mega Charizard X isn't weak to water but it's strongest attacks are resisted by Greninja, who tanked strong grass attacks from a mega Sceptile. But that didn't stop the writers from having him lose to muh BASTO BURNO
It's things like this that makes me wish Pokemon wasn't too big to fail.
I'm tired of this series being beholden by merch sales, to the point it even gets in the way of sensible booking. Sorry I mean writing. Got my 'run by fucking idiots' mixed up.
Chilling with Zygarde in Kalos.
Strongest attacks? Dragon Claw is. Stab + tough claw + Mega Charizard X being a physical attacker. Greninja is frail as shit. Mega Charizard X also had thunder punch.
>Greninja, who tanked strong grass attacks from a mega Sceptile
Sceptile had used two leaf storm prior to the one hitting Greinja. If you're going to use game fag logic it's special attack stat was already more than halved because of the secondary effect of leaf storm.
>sceptile is the worst of the hoenn starters
what did you just say nigger? blaziken is worse
I switched from dubs to subs halfway through XYZ, holy shit why do they fuck with the ost so much in the dubs. Like Ash-Greninja's them doesn't even play during the Diantha fight it's these fucking flutes going 'doot dooot'. What triggered the switch though was Talonflames voice.
youtube.com
It's literally the best started in the entire game because of speed boost.
I can't believe it's league season already. It feels like yesterday when I watched the Kalos League.
DURAHGON CRAW
DORAGON KUROU
that's called 'divine intervention' user.
It didn't hit him with a single thunder punch and he only got off one Dragon claw actually, the other one was blocked. It still did damage, sure, but not even enough to knock him down. If you wanna use game logic then both Ash Greninja's attack stats are higher than Mega Charizards attack an he hit them with both an Aerial ace and a Water shuriken before the final clash. In which Mega Charizard used a resisted Blast burn vs Ash Greninja's super water Shuriken (when a weaker one was able to beat a 4x resisted Mega Sceptile)
Ash 100% had that fight
I love that trope
>It didn't hit him with a single thunder punch and he only got off one Dragon claw actually, the other one was blocked. It still did damage, sure, but not even enough to knock him down.
It literally made has twist in pain. It did more than just deal a bit of damage.
> If you wanna use game logic then both Ash Greninja's attack stats are higher than Mega Charizards attack an he hit them with both an Aerial ace and a Water shuriken before the final clash.
And Mega Charizard X was very obviously at a higher level than Ashgreninja making this point pointless. And none of the moves were stab and have weak base power.
>In which Mega Charizard used a resisted Blast burn
That still comes out of a big sp attack state and with a 150 base power + stab making the move still a huge hitter even if its power is halved. Especially against a frail greninja.
>when a weaker one was able to beat a 4x resisted Mega Sceptile
Yeah, after hitting Sceptile with two super effective aerial aces and Mega Sceptile is frail as shit. Mega Charizard X isn't frail at all.
Ash never had the fight. Mega Charizard X has way bigger feats. It ohko an elite 4's mega ace after battleing 9 other mega evolutions in a row before it. Ash greninja didn't have feats even close to that.
Also Feraligatr, 2,3 meters of pure horror. He also is supposed to be pretty violent and be quickly on combat.
>Charizard is 1,6 meters dragonlet
>OMP OMP OMP OMP
youtube.com
>most people haven't seen D/P subbed
I remember there was an active sub scene for it back in the day, but can you even find subs for it nowadays? I know nip so I've been watching it raw but subbed kids anime is pretty hard to find
didn't ash had a larvitar at one point?
Actually enjoyed this one. Hydreigon is one of my fav mons and watching him beat the shit out of Ashes first two mons was so satisfying.
>It literally made has twist in pain. It did more than just deal a bit of damage.
Yeah, I said it did damage. Just not enough to even knock him down. Even aerial ace knocked the Charizard down
>And Mega Charizard X was very obviously at a higher level than Ashgreninja making this point pointless
Headcanon
>And none of the moves were stab and have weak base power.
Water shuriken is and it's very clearly stronger than it is in the games. It wouldn't make sense otherwise
>That still comes out of a big sp attack state and with a 150 base power + stab making the move still a huge hitter even if its power is halved
A dragon claw would be stronger
>Especially against a frail greninja.
Greninja isn't that frail, Mega Charizard's sp def is only 15 points higher than Greninja's
>Yeah, after hitting Sceptile with two super effective aerial aces
Cool but it was still 4x resisted, that fact that it could it still knock it out is very impressive. And the one he used against Alain was obviously made out to be much stronger
>and Mega Sceptile is frail as shit
No, it isn't. Mega Sceptile's sp def is literally equal to Mega Charizard's
Greninja was fucking destroying Diantha's mega Gardevior and beat a Mega Sceptile. In edition to that it's undeniably around equal in strength to the mega Charizard with all it's feats, which is a feat in of itself
Stop replying to me if you're just going to white knight for no reason
So am I blind or are they missing like pretty much the entire first half of DP?
>Not GODra
weak team
Paul uses old Pokemon and still doesnt win leagues.
>JOBdra
KEK, dont let the pseudo legendary status fool you. He's a Torterra tier loser, and slow. Ash is a retard at using slow pokemon
>Yeah, I said it did damage. Just not enough to even knock him down. Even aerial ace knocked the Charizard down
It literally brought it to its knees and Ash's reaction was way to big to ignore
>Headcanon
>Alain used literally only Charizard throughout the whole series and was a Charizard before froakie was even caught.
>battles several elite 4s, champion Steven and several busted legendaries
You're literally retarded if you don't think Charizard doesn't have a shit tone of more experience. Stop deflecting.
>Water shuriken is and it's very clearly stronger than it is in the games. It wouldn't make sense otherwise
And now you're throwing out what you would call "headcanons" hypocrite. Mega Charizard isn't a frail pokemon and it was obvious it was hanging on a thin thread after it hit.
>A dragon claw would be stronger
And? Doesn't mean Blast Burn wouldn't still hit hard as fuck. Stop deflecting retard.
>Greninja isn't that frail, Mega Charizard's sp def is only 15 points higher than Greninja's
If you have any experience in competetive pokemon 15 points difference is a shit tone in the long run. And that's not speaking of its enourmous def which was what Ash greninja mainly attacked with its physical attacks.
>No, it isn't. Mega Sceptile's sp def is literally equal to Mega Charizard's
Which is irrelevant since it got his by two super effective aerial aces while also obviously being at a lower level.
>Greninja was fucking destroying Diantha's mega Gardevior
No, it did a good match but Dinatha was clearly holding back. She didn't even use moonblast.
> In edition to that it's undeniably around equal in strength to the mega Charizard with all it's feats, which is a feat in of itself
Nice garbage headcanon that is completely invalid when you actually compare the feats.
Mega Charizard won because it was stronger, not because of some bullshit.
>He's a Torterra tier lose
Not even close. Torterra didn't win a single battle after it evolved. Goodra won every battle until its battle against Slurpuff which was a double KO and Goodra was at an extreme type advantage and against Bisharp who could spam OHKO moves.
disadvantage*
Maybe that's Tobias' Heatran.
Mah boi Guzma will defeat all of those faggots.
They both lost already.
I can't wait for CHADmes winning the league
That just means all his pokemon were dragon-type legendaries.
>literally banned from ubers is worse than sceptile
Uhhhh
>Guts Swellow
>Speed: 125
>Guts Boosted Attack:127
>worse than the shitmon that is Pidgeot
You might just be a worse trainer than ash.
Why is Ash such a shitter
Remember that nurse Joy that had a Latias? btw it's not the same as movie Latias
Then why is it standing in line with that one random ass dude?
Did Blaziken really reach Mega Fug levels of brokenness? Holy shit.
>fucking gible
for fuck's sake what do they have against giving Ash fully-powered mons
A Garchomp might've actually gotten him to Tobias' fourth
Hell, just give Heracross a choice scarf and that's both Darkrai and Latios down.
Speed Boost is a broken ability
who the literal fuck cares about POKEMON
it's for fucking 5 year olds
Not broken enough to warrant its own tier though.
The truth was Tobias only had 2 pokemon he just acted like he had more so he won.
Or his remaining 4 pokemon were some Magikarp
The sleep talk strat was the the most genius idea Ash ever had. I'm still fucking pissed it didn't pan out at all. Also Gible, Swallow, and Torkoal were such garbage picks he was practically using 3 pokemon, and I don't give a fuck if draco meteor took out Darkrai. Should've used Charizard, Snorlax, and Infernape. But I know getting Charizard to a fight is always spotty and Infernape was on IR, so I can excuse them being absent. So who could've Ash have used in here?
When will he go back to Ash?
I'm going with written off forever for being too special and OP.
Maybe when we get Gen 6 remakes he'll come back for a special.
This battle had me screeching. It was such bullshit.
Ash's Greninja was extremely popular, he'll be back.
>You can say whatever you want. A Pokémon, even if it's revered as a deity, is still just a Pokémon. - Ghetsis
The Pokemon anime doesn't operate with that unwritten rule against legendaries. The real problem is they created a Gary Stu so Ash wouldn't succeed.
>Goodra was sent back to the ranch and Greninja is doing fuck knows what with Zygarde
Seriously, it's like the producers said "shit we made those 2 too strong. Get an out of here."
Because the anime has lost it's soul and expectations should've been thrown out the window a long time ago.
Ash vs Gary was the absolute peak for me. The timing of everything was just so grand.
Weren't there entire movies about bad people trying to capture legendaries and the heroes stopping them for hippiesque reasons?
Kek, just look at this.
Eternal noob = eternal anime. Also sates the ego of the audience by giving the shitters someone to relate to, and giving the people who think they aren't shitters someone to feel superior to.
Considering Ash has six pokemons who can take on legendaries, yeah he could've won had he used the best ones
Because usually the legendaries they're trying to capture will disrupt the balance of the region/universe or the people trying to capture them is literally team rocket
I never got why the bad guys didn't try using actual pokeballs to catch the legendaries.
>could've have garchomp or t-tar for Ash's pseudo
>get slugfucker barney instead
>no snorlax
>no heracross
>fucking sceptile
>memeninja
This fucker got legendary pokemon? How did he got that huh?
Well, the badguy in the Celebi movie DID capture Celebi in a Pokeball. Just one designed to make captured Pokémon evil. And Celebi fucking died as a result (I mean, they pulled some Doctor Who timey wimey bullshit to revive it, but it actually did die)
They should have switched protags every Gen. Imagine if in future generations current protags had to face Ash, but now much older and experienced. Ash being an eternal loser is dumb.
We reached a point where they are even forcing dumb reasons why his mons aren't evolving like how is Aloha grass starter ate an everstone what the fuck is that they either gonna keep it like that or it will cough it up and jump to its final evolution.
Shit talking Floatzel.
That is never going to happen as long as Pikachu exist.
Good guys play by the rules, bad guys don't even if completely arbitrarily. Just casually grinding conformism into kids' heads.
Honestly its weird how much they had Cynthia interact with Ashe and the gang yet wasted no chance to drop him from the league like they were setting everything up for Ash to face her hell he even had a dream where he made it to the finals and she had a legendary.
Tobias was the manifestation of Pokemon anime writers themselves.
Wait didn't it know Guillotine?
How did this retard win the battle frontier but he can't beat the league?
Shouldn't this achievement be more impressive anyway?
>Ash had an Aipom stick with him going to Sinnoh, started off as a fairly good battler
>Ash traded his Aipom to Dawn for Buizel
>Dawn ends up giving it away as an Ambipom so it can go play fucking ping-pong forever
Made me so mad.
Fuck you reminded me he let Goodra go X/Y's equivalent of Dragonite and he released it.
Ash was allowed rematches whenever he lost to them.
It was a wild one he bonded with so he can reunite it with its mother so he had no intention of keeping it.
The plain and simple fact that he doesn't use his best in the leauges.
He couldn't even beat the battle frontier until he gathered his original pokemon that he had the closest bonds with from the four corners of the globe. He lost twice against Brandon.
Shame Butterfree and Pidgeot to couldn't be there to really round things off, but they were absolute fucking worthless jobbers anyway and they didnt really have any personality so I guess the screentime is better used on the 4 he had.
Anyone know where to read the pokemon manga? Alsonis it finished or still going?
Butterfree is ridiculously overpowered because stun spore and sleep powder were always treated as OHKO moves
To be fair, one of those losses to Brandon was not actually Ash battling but some ancient evil possessing him.
Was a weird episode.
>but they were absolute fucking worthless jobbers anyway
> Always remember Pidgeotto as one of his more useful Mons
> Rewatched indigo Season a while ago
> It's fucking useless aside from scouting duty and pecking the TR balloon
Poor birb.
Yeah I only remembered that after I posted. I wonder how it would have been used if it wasn't released.
Too bad he got cucked out of winning the Cerulean Gym badge by "Team Rocket interrupts the main plot Part 2/326,894"
Didn't it beat one of Misty's water types even after it dove into the water with one of those moves?
You know, i sort of liked this in earlier Seasons. Pokémon felt more like actual creatures. It makes sense that if you fall asleep in the midst of battle that you would be DQ'd. Same with DOOOOOOOODGE. Why would you just let your Pokémon stand there and tank a Hyper Beam to the face.
Honestly it really didn't become anything special until it evolved to Pidgeot and what did he do? It's like he fears having a powerhouse in his team.
>"Team Rocket interrupts the main plot Part 2/326,894"
This reminds me of his loss against Richie. It makes the League seem like a completely amateuristic organization. A competitor was hindered by a criminal group and some of his Pokémon were fucking exhausted due to it. His match should have been postponed realistically.
A single well-trained fairy-type would lay waste to 2/3 of this team.
I always hated they have to tell them to dodge no one wants to get hit why would they wait for a command to dodge unless it was something like Wobbuffet or if the mon is immune to a certain element or attack.
Don't forget said competitor saved the whole tournament during its opening ceremony from the exact same criminals.
Team Rocket was fucking unforgivable for that bullshit
Jesus your right and if it was a fairy they probably intended a fairy type trainer to come in out of nowhere and steam roll the all competitors but then backed off after the last league with you know who.
Pokémon are canonically pretty bad at battling on their own. They just do shit. It's even reflected in the games where wild Pokémon just pick one of their moves at random, whereas Pokémon in trainer battles have a primitive AI that uses tactics like re-using sleep moves.
Pokémon need trainers to become better Fighters.
They redeemed themselves in the 2000 movie, only for later to everyone pretend that it never happened.
>Don't forget said competitor saved the whole tournament during its opening ceremony from the exact same criminals.
Who fucking tried to BURN HIM ALIVE.
Not always. Some of the wild pokemon Ash fights when trying to catch them act pretty intelligently.
And I remember one case in Johto where Ash was battling in some minor Grass type tournament, Bulbasaur was up against the character-of-the-day's Skiploom and winning, the kid in despiration tells Skiploom to do whatever it thinks is right, and Skiploom pulls a Solarbeam out of its ass and wins.
That's a pity I can understand game cannon being what it is but at least in the anime would force trainers to be more clever with their fights against wild mons.
He led the match with Heracross and landed a MegaHorn before it was KO'ed. Darkrai than ran through 3 other Pokemon before it was defeated. The universe didn't want him to win no matter what.
That being said, if his Gible had at least evolved into Gabite before the match he might've had a better show at defeating Darkrai and Latios.
Team Rocket has done a lot of BS stuff that is close to murder and I'm not talking about the guns those pits they use to constantly build could really kill someone those things were pretty deep and they always wanted to leave them there to rot. It it was me I'd be more brutal to them for that shit.
The dodge thing realls only gets bad in later johto and hoenn
I swear like 80% of any given battle is just Ash saying "Dodge it and use X". Before then pokemon have a fair amount of autonomy in battles.
Wait, wasn't the loss against Richie because Charizard was being a shitter like always?
That's the only one I recall did he have another match against him in another league?
He was forced to use Charizard because all of his other mons were tired from dealing with Team Rocket just five minutes earlier.
Sorta but the only reason he had to send out charizard is because all his other pokemon were exhausted from putting up with team rocket bullshit
Yeah, I remember Ash rounding up his best mons for a fight or match-up during the frontier. Made it much more enjoyable and showed he was competent.
What about the other mons he had like Muk or Kingler at the time? He could have gone with any other mon beside Charizard who he knew was being an ass at the time he had a army of Tauros he could have gone with one again.
He couldn't replace any pokemons because he was late for his match and nearly got disqualified.
They should have given him extra time since like that one user pointed out he basically saved the league from Team Rocket like twice in one week.
Which is why i originally said that the League comes off as amateuristic. Imagine if Usain Bolt almost got disqualified because the maffia tried to kidnap him. Then he escapes and literally exhausts himself by running to the tournament and loses because of it. They would never live that shit down.
>final season
>Ash says "I'm putting together a team"
>Makes an all star team from all gens
>Finally wins the league
>GF asks where are all the current gen shillmons
>fires all the writers
Orange League is the GOAT because his character development really starts to show.
Ash's Team in Sinnoh Conference is mixed tho.
Could I win a league with this team?
Mega Gengar
Weavile
Umbreon
Ditto
Gliscor
Serperior
A Mega Gengar could probably sweep through all the E4 and champs
Now post the stats when it's NOT losing so hard it's almost a moot point.
And then they gave up on that besides bringing back charizard during gen v to save ratings
>Mega Gengar
I'd Ghost types are easily shut down but then again this is Mega Gengar we're talking about here
Ghosts have the best coverage tho. Pre nerf Gengar was great without the Mega form.
Mega has great speed and huge sp plus an OP ability.
is it even legal to catch gods
Maybe the MC should have caught any of the shitload of legendaries he met instead of just befriending them
You know this will never happen
Do you guys think people bully Ash behind the scenes in the Pokemon world?
Like, do you think he has a nickname like "the eternal rookie"?
I just want to see his Infernape's Blaze/Kaioken/SSJ1 form go off again.
Only if the equivalent of Yea Forums exists there. Aside from that he'd be respected for constantly placing high in all leagues.
I just wish legendaries weren't entirely confined to the movies for Satoshi
Would you guys bully Ash if you were a trainer in the Pokemon world? Would you call him names for never winning a tournament?
>Considering Ash has six pokemons who can take on legendaries
>Charizard
>Sceptile
>Pikachu
Who are the other 3?
Do you have some kind of bully fetish?
What am I, some kind of cuck?
Is Darkrai or Latios even gods? They're probably on the same level as Dragonite/Volcarona/Tyrinitar
Check out the Darkrai movie to see what its actually capable of.
Swellow is legitimately one of his best Pokemon though, going by its track record and previous major fights. Basically only behind the big powerhouses like Snorlax, Charizard, Infernape, etc.
Iris' Dragonite tanked several ice moves and came out on top against Dawn's Mamoswine back when it still wouldn't listen to her.
Lol
If the pokemon's fine with it and they're not doing evil then I don't think anyone cares.
And mine dies to a single ice shard after rocks
>questioning breakdancing Buizel
eww user
This was easily his worst loss. Tobias was bullshit conceptually but Ash went down swinging like a champion there. This was just pathetic, getting swept by an actual retard just to shill Lucario
/vp/ go away.
Is Greninja made from paper?
So was Tobias essentially a player character self insert just shitting on everyone with his OP legendaries?
No, Tobias was the writers themselves.
This was pure Pokekino. I can still go back, watch the battle, and love it.
Pikachu taking down Alain’s Tyranitar and Metagross super easily was awesome.
Probably not. Even Ash playing smart like using Heracross combo on Darkrai meant jack shit because they can't let him win a league for some reason
Max did that, he bullied the hell out of Ash early on for losing the Silver Conference. For some reason Max was the only person that ever watched other regions leauge matches. That computer guy in the Johto Scizor episode also got information on Ash from the Indigo Leauge, he said Ash didn't do bad.
I would avoid him like the plague, but that might just be my antisocial tendencies.
>It makes sense that if you fall asleep in the midst of battle that you would be DQ'd.
That would shape the entire way people played the sport though. It'd be like if scoring any knockdown of any kind in boxing would be an instant win, no matter how quickly the other person got up.
All of his Pokemon were exhausted, and some of them were so tired that they couldn't even fight. Charizard was his one healthy Pokemon (IIRC Bulbasaur did at least something during the escape), and Ash got abducted while he was still deciding his team to boot. If Ash at least had the full amount of time to decide who he'd use against Richie, he'd have probably had a Tauros or Muk instead.
hao was done well because the author wanted the message that not everything could be solved by fighting or some pacifist shit
can't wait for gladion to cuck ash out of his alola league
bonus points if hau beats him
My wife Mary Sue is going to win
But they have cute cunnies
cute and funny
>stops your theme music
>sceptile the jobber
>strongest
alola is such a fucking joke
this sol gag comedy shit was a mistake
Stop trying to make me re-watch the entire series again, Yea Forums.
Thanks
The funniest part about this is what happens after. Lysandre's mega gyarados was wrecking all of Ash's league pokemon in one hit. Alain's charizard kept taking super effective hits, sometimes to save some of Ash's pokemon and just kept standing. I swear that thing was invincible after his training montage. All his losses were early on, suddenly training montage and he proceeds to one shot an E4 and go toe to toe with Zygarde.
Why the fuck does the anime shill Lucario so much in the first place?
God I want to fuck this girl until my dick breaks inside her
Her mom is better.
1 oyakodon for me please
Yeah are free enjoy your run-of-the-mill hag. Have fun.
>Lusamine
>run-of-the-mill
How dare you.
Furfags and the movie
You didn't watch the anime if you think Ash's Swellow was garbage. It's his most competent and overpowered flying type he has.
Because Floatzel is a dopey and clumsy-looking design, so the animators preferred animating Buizel in battles.
No, that was Paul's Gliscor.
I think that Bulbasaur was available but Ash didn't want to use him against a Charmander because it'd be suicide
>Goodra won every battle until its battle against Slurpuff
That isn't saying much because Goodra was a late addition that was barely in any battles.
That was probably more because Cynthia was the most popular female character they ever had and milked her for anime views.
They nerfed the BF in the anime and turned it into a harder gym challenge.
They introduced the whole "champion's league" concept then, didn't they? I think there were clear signs he was going to actually challenge championship in DP.
There was also clear signs ash was going to win against Tobias
>Swellow worse version of Pidgeot
Is this some kind of joke?
Well that's because the only thing that is, is a Mega Evo and already top tier Uber
>rewatch hoenn
>realize thunder armor was somewhat foreshadowed throughout since swellow basically never took damage from electric attacks
Ash Best Team:
Charizard
Sceptile
Greninja
Heracross
Snorlax
Pikachu
Oh, I remember this shit! Their voices were cool as fuck
This is the fight that should've have cemented the fact that Ash will never EVER win a league.
They had to use literal fucking Legendaries to stop him, he was peak in Sinnoh
>Pokémon are canonically pretty bad at battling on their own.
Except for this motherfucker. If I recall, it had a better record when it was still in its edgy phase than when it started listening to Iris
Staraptor is stronger
Even if he wins its meaningless. Its the first time the league is held and consist a bunch of nobodies.
Oh fuck, I haven't followed in a while. Is this shit really happening?
Maybe it's cause Sceptile always overshadowed the rest of his Hoenn team, that I can't remember much of what Swellow did outside of that thunder armor thing. Also I kinda had a better opinion of Staraptor cause it seemed more of a powerhouse with brave bird and close combat.
You aren’t even allowed to make an all star team from all gens in game anymore. Regional dex only.
>>James
I want to believe that he'll win this.
Liked it a lot. The only thing that I would change is to give Torterra a win a reduce one of Infernapes. I know why they put him in the limelight during the match, but Torterra got really thrown under the bus in the season.
nothing but lv. 2 HM slaves
Even after all this time my rage hasn't subsided. Not only did he lose against an utter retard who didn't know what a full battle is or that he needs 8 badges for the league, no, it was Ash himself that got him into the league after the registration had already closed.
That just makes it all the funnier desu
>Beat Darkrai and Latios
>Sweating because all he has left are shitters
Kek
You say that like it's surprising.
>"Dude, that character's so unrealistic"
>Play Pokemon online
>Endless teams of 6 Legendaries
Tobias has actually an Entei and a Lucario: youtube.com
>Torkoal has no reason to be on any competitive team ever
anime teams aren't like smogon ones, so it may be good for weather shenanigans
would've won if he swaped out embor instead of making it fight sammurott.
League Hawlucha will destroy any fairy tho?
Infernape
Asspull Frog
And if he fucking evolve gibble and make it a Garchamp also his goodra is fairly strong and tanky
If Ash had a time machine, traveled from Alola back to Sinnoh and used this team, he'd have a shot in hell.
>Pikachu (with Pikashunium Z)
>Infernape
>Krookodile
>Sceptile
>Snorlax
>Goodra
Bonus points if he somehow pockets a Sceptilite while he's at it.
I just dont get why Ash cant win a Pokemon League and then want to win the League of another region?
There is no excuse, and it is not the end of the journey.
At this point Ash loses because it's tradition
Because no one will buy him losing to a rookie trainer's babymon in the next region if he is supposed to be a league champion
Heracross could have beaten both of them
Ash have no excuse to lose against shitters anymore after that Tobias match but he still does.
Why not just make Ash win a conference league for once and make him lose to an E4 member?
I think you can only use a Z move or have a mega stone, not both.
Why not just have Ash win the league and replace him with different MCs? If the purpose of the show is to shill the games to new generations of kids then they don't need to be stuck with the same main character from more than 20 years ago and his rat buddy.
I mean, the anime didn't start failing when they finally ditched Brock, Misty and all of Ash's non-Pikachu Pokemons.
That will never happen as long as Pikachu exists.
>the anime didn't start failing when they finally ditched Brock, Misty and all of Ash's non-Pikachu Pokemons
You already answered your own question.
How did I answer it? They ditched familiar characters already even when they kept clinging on to them long after their gen stopped being relevant and it worked out.
But they still cling on to Ash, Team Rocket and the shill rat even though they could all be replaced by newer characters with the same personalities.
Tobias was proved that DP was peak Ash. Ash was unstoppable at that point and only a dude with legendaries could stop him. Im glad he gave one hell of a fight and beat not only one but two legendaries. His story ended with a bang
Ash and his Pikachu has fought and won against most Frontier Brains and legendaries used by one of them: the Regis/Articuno, in the games Brains can be fought if you become a champion.
And yet, his Pikachu struggled with gym leaders [who he even lost] of the next regions which led to the Pikachu power resets from region to region thing because he is supposed to steamroll everything and quickly participate in the region league.
That Snivy bullshit coming right after this is what makes it so much worse.
hell, alternatively just give Pikachu over to a new main character. go full Toy Story 3 on our asses
he can just start like a new trainer with new pokemon like he does every season anyways
Heracross
Snorlax
Also Muk who has the best track, underrated af.
Then you have the situational ones:
Kingler
Donphan, Infernape, Hawlucha (jobbers but might help depending on comp)
>the anime didn't start failing when they finally ditched Brock, Misty and all of Ash's non-Pikachu Pokemons
>non-Pikachu Pokemons
The problem is Pikachu, not Ash. TPC makes a shitload of money from Pikachu merchandise alone, they're not just going risk it and remove their company mascot as a main character for the anime. They tried to shill Pikaclones like Pachirisu, Emolga, Pulse, Minun, Pichu, Dedenne, etc... and none of them made more money than it.
You can use both, but mega evolved Pokemon cant use z-moves.
Other trainers can use a Pikachu. It’s not like Ash’s is special.
but it is
it's on superroids after getting hit by actual thunder
HM slave
That's the point, Ash's Pikachu is very special since it was his very first Pokemon instead of the Kanto starters. What do you want, have different MCs from each Gen with Pikachu as their starters?
From DP to BW might have been the biggest nerf to him as a trainer ever. And those fuckers later compounded on it by having Pikachu forget volt tackle for fucking electro ball.
> Skiploom pulls a Solarbeam out of its ass and wins.
That sounds hilarous, do you remember what episode or region it was in?
>Electro Ball
Reminder now THAT got fucking replaced by god damn electro web
B-but SM isn't canon, so they'll reset Ash and Pikachu when it's over and that won't be an issue r-right?
Can't believe anyone would care after XY.
Realistically speaking, are there any trainers in the entire Pokemon anime that can beat Tobias?
Cynthia, drake, lance, any of the elite4 champions/ dragon users have a pretty good chance imo.
Does time even pass in the anime? Ash is eternally like 10 years old, isn't he?
No
Lucario is possibly the 2nd maybe third most popular pokemon of course they will shill it's used by several gym leaders and some of the champs on top of that it even got its own movie.
We know Cynthia is still the champion of sinnoh that mean he lose to her, lose to one of the elite 4 or didn't fight at all.
kino
>Tfw torterra is eternally doomed to jobber status because pokemon is legally not allowed to show Earthquake or other Earthquake-like moves on television
James Vs Guzma is my dream finale

I miss this part of the pokemon anime
I want to re watch Diamond and Pearl now.
Floatzel looks much cooler than fucking Buizel
Because it was exactly set up to a win for once.
Ash went through the entire region with almost no losses, being treated everywhere as a veteran trainer.
He had inspired a kid to be a trainer who grew up to actually reach the semifinals and challenge him.
The rival for the region was someone who had been the protagonist for 4 OVAs and some anime episodes and had to do with the regional villain's plans.
It was so obvious that the final 16 and final 8 battles weren't even shown. They just showed Ash blazing through them and the commentator seeding Ash from the beginning as being in the finals.
After the episode aired the staff from the animation studio apologized on Twitter and said it had been a higher ups decision, not theirs.
watch it subbed, skip all the boring filler, but some of it is nice like Hunter J or the evil togepi
It's on Mangadex just read it there. And I think it's still going on but it'd not worth reading after the HGSS chapters cause that's kind of the culmination of the first 4 regions and everything from BW onward is just isolated. Maybe read the ORAS chapters as well cause the old characters also appear in that one with Megas I think
I don't understand /ɐ/, I don't fucking understand how Satoshi can't win a league for once! I had pretty high expectations after he defeated the motherfucking Battle frontier! That for sure, he would win the next god damn league he would enter which would be the Suzuran Conference! The team he assembled was one of the best teams he ever had in hand in the series yet!
But NO! The fucking Animators/Writers decided to fuck over Satoshi in the long run and made him lose to this faggot (Pic related) that's holding the trophy Satoshi rightfully deserves. How the fuck did officials, NO, A MEMBER OF THE ELITE FOUR, allow LEGENDARY Pokemon to compete in the fucking league! How is this even fair, to have a team full of legendary Pokemon that takes an entire set to take down ONE. How can you call yourself a skillful trainer when legendary are fucking OP that you don't need to tell them what to do! That's how powerful they are and can defend themselves out of pure instinct!
It took Ash his entire god Damn team to take down this faggot's Darkrai, only to pull another fucking legendary Pokemon OUT OF HIS ASS and its only his SECOND pokemon to seal Ash's lost!!!
W-T-F!?!?!?!
In the words of the the 9th Japanese Opening. Satoshi, Are you ok?
