The manga's are isekai. The anime adaptions are always just a setting. Arifureta barely makes a note that the characters are from another world. It's just context.

But that could be a problem with aristotle's poetic modes. Like Tolkien said, you can't do fantasy in dramatics. You need a narrator. Isekai is the same way. You can only go so far with flashes of imagery.

Like in .hack you have Macha and Tsukasa. And once in a while we see a grain irl memory of Tsukasa feeding an abandoned kitty. A lot of people won't see the parallel because they're not familiar with the genre to know what it's doing.
