Kentaro Miura will not finish Berserk in his lifetime

I'v noticed over the last 15 or so years that light novels are slowly but steadily dying off. Now i know 99.999999% of people don't read or care about the novels but I actually really enjoy them. A big problem however is that most translations groups have died off or don't translate a lot of the longer series anymore. I guess its not really that they are dying out, its more or less that translations for these are dying out.
This happens a lot with visual novels, but most noticeably eroge games. Their used to be tons of translation groups out their that translated these games but most of them have died off. It really fucking sucks. Like, I know how to machine translate basically any game, but those only really get you so far if you give any shit about the story.
Its been fucking YEARS since any major eroge title has been translated unofficially by anyone. My next of kin will never understand just how fucking good some of those games were.

OK, so it's the year 2021. Araki is 61. JoJolion is finally over. If Araki decides to make a part 9, it will take him at least 7 years considering how long the previous two parts were. By the time he's done with part 9, Araki will be at least 68 years old. Considering how JoJo parts can easily be divided into trilogies, what even is the point of a part 10 anyway? Also, do you really think a part 9 could ever taint JoJo's legacy? We're talking about Araki here. Even if he ends up making something arguably worse than part 1, it's still going to be something bizarre, fun and beautiful.

Its just a shame that she made her debut in Berserk - which is not bad per se, but her being a main character for a short comics made by Miura is welcome in my books.

People grew up and times changed
With novels and visual novels, less people play them now. Theirs more official releases, and people are overall, moving away from reading.
With regards to eroge, however, i was directly involved with a few groups and people, some people from Seiha and I helped with the coding aspect of some smaller developers. I have no idea why those groups died out, I was sort of out of the loop but it might be that lots of the actual translators lost interest. One problem with independent developers however is how, and i hate to use the word, "Xenophobic" the Japanese ones are. They always think Gaijin are stupid and want to pirate their work. One person who is infamous (and who I helped for a time) is a man named Ray. He made a pretty well known game called "Teaching feeling". It's a really good project, its just that he could get SOOOO much more done if he accepted help, instead of being an absolute faggot.
If you wan't to try a little eroge without the massive hassle of finding the actual game, AND the translations, theirs this channel on youtube called "keeperoferoge" which has a few videos up with links to some games that are worth checking out (most notably Kamidori alchemy miester. I was actually involved in that one, its a great game and story")
With regards to light novels, you kinda gotta find them by scouring the web. Theirs not a lot of good sites for them. I would however suggest trying to find a place to read "kino no tabi" its a great novel, its the one that kino's journey is based off of.

I would highly suggest trying to get into visual novels. Its fucking MINDBLOWING how many are out their. Im pretty sure I have a few hardrives with a combined count of around 380. And thats just a fraction of the amount on some websites. Its probably one of the deepest rabbit holes you can go down, along with the insane rabbithole eroge games and their history goes down.
It really is amazing finding some old site from like 2003 that has a cache of visual novels that maybe only a handful of people have played, and experiencing it for yourself.
