Tenki no Ko makes 1.65 billion yen in its first 3 days

Around a 30% increase over Kimi no Na wa. eiga.com/news/20190722/8/

Pretty good but I doubt it can keep up Kimi no Na Wa's crazy streak at #1.

Didn't Knnw made 1 billion yen in a week at some point?

Yeah, that's impossible. It remained 14 weeks on top if I remember correctly. 4 weeks tops for Tenki no Ko, unless it magically becomes another miracle.

Isn't that, like, $5?

Over 15 million dollars.

Has anyone here actually seen it?

Can anyone tell me the story about this movie and precure? Is the heroine cosplay precure, or does precure really appear in this movie?

This image looks like it's been gone through Waifu2X.

There's a scene where the protagonists help out some precure cosplayers.

>NTR

Nope

It's not NTR you fuck, there's none of that here

Isn't Shinkai the owner of his movies? That must mean he take a portion of the box office while other directors are mere studio employees

The product placement was rather obnoxious.

Shinkai doesn't own CoMix Wave in its entirety. But yes, he does have some of it.

How bad is it? To the point that foreigners will be able to tell that it's a product placement, in the face kind of thing?

Different person than that guy, but if you don't know very much about Japan, you won't notice much, I guess. The McDonalds scene is obvious, but not too obnoxious in my opinion.
Out of every product placement thing I noticed I'm mostly upset about the decision to include a certain obese tranny Instagram personality.

I enjoyed Your Name and his previous works a whole lot more than Tenki. The police plot was fucking stupid and the score was so fucking repetitive, by the end of the movie I swear the piano theme had played in almost every single scene. Radwimps was great for Your Name but I don't think the music worked too well here. Grand Escape was great though.

Is the soundtrack out yet?

Yes

I got to the theater about ten minutes late, just barely in time to see the gun fall out of the trashcan. Is it introduced in the movie at all before that, or does it just exist for no reason?
