I don't know what you're referring to. I'm talking about this senpai mangadex.org/title/20978/the-world-of-moral-reversal

>Isekai works revolve around a normal person from Earth being transported to, reborn, or trapped in a parallel universe, usually a fantasy world. Often, it already exists in the protagonist's world as a fictional universe, but it may also be unknown to them [...]
Is this really the definition? Sounds fake and made up.

No. It's just good. Story, character, setting everything is memorizable as fuck. Except season 4 but the author was dying so you can't complain about that.

That one by the AGK author where the guy is the girl's slave but the girls have to fuck him whenever he does work for them as compensation is pretty great. Konosuba and Danmachi are solid. I liked the one where the guy has an instant death ability but Yea Forums hated it.

There are some generic ones that aren't too bad as well. Only a true weeb who reads jap web novels/light novels would be able to tell you the real truth though.

Fucking water. Like, really? Get rekt scrub.

Anime staff fucked up by ignoring the LN author's foreshadowing about the church being full of dicks and making Julio a genuinely good guy. It was less the author's fault and more JC Staff being retarded.
Zero no Tsukaima had strong characters, a fun premise and some very awesome moments. It was the last isekai before Haruhi and SAO came and fucked everything up by opening the market to every mouthbreathing virgin that fancied himself a writer.

Thank you user for that recommendation

The wrong way to use healing magic and Kuma kuma kuma bear are good reads

No, there are some time travel shenanigans but is all within the same world.

>subsequent installments heavily include Princess Ozma, the tomboy princess who instantly becomes best friends forever with Dorothy
>neither of them ever meet any character that could ever be construed as a male love interest
>instead they just choose to keep being the super bestest of friends for the next 20 books
Was the Wizard of Oz actually the second most important /u/ piece of literature ever? After Carmilla, of course.

Digimon, Monster Rancher or anything before isekai turned into a cool thing, just like the zombie movies.

Now here then there

Narnia is shit run of the mill isekai like fushigi yugi and ZnT is better

Over half the cast is unlikeable in some way but you still like them.

This is okay, even with the game mechanics. It can be done.

Does Tron count as an Isekai?

So let's say that the simulation theory is true. If that's the case, are we all in an isekai right now?

Attached: makoto2.jpg (225x208, 17K)

this

and this easy

no because we never knew the "real" other world

Alice in Wonderland is a masterpiece but it is NOT an isekai. She never actually went to another world, it was explicitly all a dream. That was the big twist at the story's end, it's one of the most famous "it was all just a dream" stories in fiction.

The whole reason it works is because of its uses of a real dream’s characteristic mixture of vagueness and vividness. Nothing remains the same for long. Even words start to blur into each other. “Did you say ‘pig’ or ‘fig’?” asks the Cheshire Cat, who appears only after the Caterpillar has disappeared. (In real life a caterpillar becomes a butterfly; in dreams a caterpillar becomes a cat.) Usually it is an empty cliche to say that someone writes like a dream, but this is exactly what Carroll tried to do. His story pulled apart the world around him and reassembled it in a crazily jumbled form.

Attached: expert.jpg (1440x810, 173K)

You can't though because you get entered randomly and unpredictability, you have to fight/quest your way to the exit, the most times anyone gets to go is twice, and if you do get to go back everyone you knew there is long dead.

>the most times anyone gets to go is twice
Didn't Lucy and Edmund go 3 times? LWW, Caspian, and Dawn Treader?

Megaman Battle Network

/Thread

All of them, it's unironically the best genre of anime.

All of them besides SAO.

What about Russian isekai?

Attached: 1548962204429 (1).jpg (1376x976, 580K)

Overlord S1.

SAO isn't isekai, you fuckwit.

Sound like you described inuyashiki. A poorman's L

>stick carries more importance than mc's rival
Still liked how he brought it back as if it was the most important thing mc had

>stuck on the other side
>needs to clear in order to return back to sense
>fantasy setting
What's the difference apart from vrm

Excuuuse me, fellow "user". I am a master of tropes with more than 1000 trope pages read on Tv Trope. Alice is an Unbuilt-Trope Deconstruction of the Isekai genre, with a It's All A Dream surprise twist. Thus, Qodde Era Demonstratum, it is an Isekai.

They aren't stuck, the whole nervgear gimmick was just shit writing by Kawahara, and he wrote it out in following arcs. Too bad he regressed for a bit in Alicization, and even included the Accel World gimmick into it.

Dragon Tales.

The only correct answer.

that they're still on earth, the series ends on earth, and that they spend a fuckton of time on earth in the series afterwards

you might as well tell me the MMO episode of welcome to the NHK was an isekai

>She never actually went to another world, it was explicitly all a dream.
The second book makes this questionable at the least.

And then 50 chapters in a row end with "and then we fucked so hard I woke up next day covered in all sorts of fluids".
