The animation stays pretty much the same throughout. They use "he" (kare, as well as a lot of the gems using boku when talking about themselves) in the manga too but translations vary. The dialogue is probably the same between the anime and manga.
They are all genderless, but usually use masculine pronouns with each other. If they were girls in the manga it is simply a translation thing.
And the CG stays consistent but most people seems to like it.

They refer to each other as "he". They look feminine but they aren't humans and have no concept of sex or gender. This is even somewhat of a point later on in the manga. There are a few times they're shown topless too and have no features and presumably no genitals either.

That Gantz movie looks just like the manga. The mangaka rendered 3D models in a computer program then drew over them. DQ is just some shameless How to Train your Dragon ripoff, but that Lupin honestly looks real good.
