Better the improbabilities be in the set-up for the story, rather than the climax. Most stories are built on an initial improbability, and then dealing with the results of that improbability. while poor storytelling is having the improbability BE the result. Are those three character coming together for this story? Sure, but it's no less improbable to me then the entire concept of the entire Fate series. So long as the story that comes out of it is interesting, I have no qualms.
