I showed my younger sister (8) Princess Mononoke and she really like it, but I showed her Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and she liked it much less than princess mononoke, she got another ghibli movie from the library (The Wind Rises) which she said she hated. If I had to give a firm recommendation, Omae Umasou da na is absolutely amazing, while being child appropriate, and Cagliostro is probably the best childrens film of all time. Since it sounds like your sister has better taste than you, I can guarantee she'll like either of those movies.
