Anime producers have a big boner for Hestia, so they try to make Aiz as non-emotive as they can. While in the novels and manga she is a lot more expressive because she actually has a personality there. While a bit of an autist, she isn't braindead like the anime makes her out to be.

If you like DanMachi you'll probably enjoy it sufficiently to not regret spending the time on it. It isn't particularly good, it doesn't really do anything special or incredibly exciting or such, it's a by the numbers sort of movie. You get to see Artemis and she's pretty cute. If you don't watch it it's not like you'll miss out on anything huge though.
