is this gonna be the sleeper hit of the season? the characters are a little cliche, but likable. the art looks really pretty that i didn't even realize it was silver link, and the directing is good too. if the whole let's player shtick is filtering out plebs, we got comfy threads to look forward to.

I have up on waiting for the twist to drop so I read the manga and I liked what was there though 1 season doesn't seem like it would get much done.

That bathroom scene was good. The show isn't edgy or gory but every character seems to have some darkness in them.

He's a Shinbo school director so you will have those moments. I remember they brought him in for the finale of Akanesasu Shoujo just for that style.

They explicitly chose people that don't have a strong desire to return to society.

I'm 100% certain that the author is a girl. The character designs and set up, on top of being a Pixiv manga, all have that feeling to it.

How DO you check Twitter? I have no idea how you can search for a specific character’s art.

Find an artist, probably by searching for a character or series name (in Japanese, obviously). Follow them, then look to see which pieces from other artists that they're retweeting, preferably from the same series that you're looking for. Then look at those artists, check who THEY'RE retweeting, follow those new artists you find, and so on.

Artists on Twitter all retweet each other's work, so it's really just about finding somewhere to start and expanding your net.

There's an overarching mystery since in essence they are trapped on an island by some mystery organization and some of the characters are here for reasons beyond just being abducted.

You should also initially start following an artist that retweets other artists a lot.

For example, fatalpulse barely retweets other artists. Some just post their art and call it a day like say bubukka or atahuta. Twitter is such a fucking awful site that I'm still mad everyone flocked to that shithole of awful archiving. But it all generally makes sense. Animators retweet key frames posted by other animators. MMD dudes retweet shit by other MMD dudes. Loli artists are more susceptible to retweeting other loli images. And general overlap all around.

For this series in particular and other more niche anime, you can start by using the hashtag the official anime twitter uses. Just get rid of the hashtag symbol, search on twitter, and go from there. The image posted here specifically is probably art done by an animator of the show.

Meant to pick this up but didn't get around to it, is it worth watching?

It's surprisingly fun. The synopsis makes it sound a lot edgier than it actually is.

It's an okay timewaster. The setting and events are absurd but the girls, especially glasse, are very cute. Also the visual direction of the show is probably its greatest strength. Lots of really nice pop out moments and it never keeps you visually bored.

It has a serious sounding plot, but plays it for laughs. Give it a shot, user.

Probably not? Despite the premise making it sound like a death game and the threat of death being present, the show doesn't really seem to be going down that direction.

There's no compelling force to cull their numbers at least even though it does give the impression of being a death game like Danganronpa.

I've read all the currently translated chapters and there are no deaths.
Though it feels like Glasses might have a death flag on her, but we'll see where that goes.

Honestly, that's not really that surprising. It seems pretty clear by now that the plot's driving forces are supposed to be the mysterious setting and/or character drama, rather than life threatening danger.

Can't blame you, this error seems to be kinda common. Now that you know, you should probably priorize them, it's basically Horriblesubs but with more languages and fixed typesetting. The stories and settings aren't all that similar so far.

If you know what to look for, it does share some common ancestry with Mekaku/Kagerou Project though. You can see this in things like the balanced gender ensemble cast, or all the characters having assigned image colors that are only vaguely related to their actual color schemes, etc. Genome is a Pixiv manga, and these sorts of things tended to come out of the nip fanartist community from the early to mid 10's or so.

For what it's worth, Erai-raws are uploaded under the English subbed category, not the raw category.

Did anyone try to do this? I've spent some time on Photoshop, but the colors change every character so it's hard to do it right, and also, I would have to erase the background. I can finish it for next week's thread, but I can't really guarantee the quality.
