This is the only anime I’ve really watched and I loved it. Is anime worth getting into or is it mostly derivative trash?

Is there any classics though that I should watch before I die? I watched Samurai Champloo when I was a teen and liked it. I’ve also heard things about certain anime’s like Cowboy Bepop that make it sound like it’s kino.

most of it is trash, but try watching some other highly regarded shonens if you liked HxH

OP here. A part of what I liked so much about HxH so much was the very “human” themes like Gon trying to prove himself after missing a father figure and Killua finding his humanity through his friendships. It didn’t feel dumb and derivative with boy saves girl and has a harem by the end of the show type shit. I want anime’s that give you the feels.

You are getting so trolled.Obviously it's worth getting into, thats why we are here. If i were to recommend something with human themes it's "March Comes in Like a Lion". It's a different type of show so you may not like it but it's generally the best anime out there. It also has feels and is on Netflix.

I've only seen 7 episodes not too long ago. Didn't really get into it. I know it gets better but I've been having problems with watching longer shows and I'm not a big shounen guy. I've only seen My Hero Academia and it was fairly good, but every other shounen I started to watch bored me really fast.

it's considered fine at best, but it has a very rabid fanbase that tends to derail threads because they need to kill time until the author gets out of hiatus.
it is as generic as it gets, so I guess if you liked it you may watch other shonen and get something out of it.

yu yu hakusho is by the same author and it has a very good few arcs, even though the ending is sub par
dragon ball is an essential to understand the genre, and I'd say at least the first series is pretty good overall. nails that comfy feel.
full metal alchemist is highly rated among casual anime fans, you may check out that as well.
you should avoid shonen though. they tend to turn people into shitflinging brainlets.
consider trying something different unless you are brown or black

HxH has received a modicum of popularity, so the contrarian faggots on Yea Forums will tell you it's shit. It's not. If you loved HxH (like most people on this board do but are afraid to sacrifice their internet cool points) maybe try another battle shonen. They're easy for beginners and if you like them there's usually a ton of content to marathon. Boku no Hero Academia comes to mind. Going further back, One Piece is a classic, and I've always been very fond of Bleach. Attack on Titan is the new big show that you'll probably love. And more recently, my favorite manga of all time, Vinland Saga (pic related) finally got an anime. I dunno, don't ask Yea Forums for recommendations. You'll get trolled into oblivion.

The whole point was Meruem was supposed to be like a Dragonball character in a world where nobody minus characters like Gon who sacrifice everything for it can reach that level. If you seriously think it was just "lul powerlevels" then you seriously missed the fucking point of the arc. It was about how the humans were supposed to deal with that insane level of power without being able to match it rather than just "IM GOING TO GET STRONGER AND BEAT YOU"
