Dororo

>Adapt a several decade old manga a second time.
>Add anime-original scenes and still rush the ending.
What the fuck were they thinking?

It was good desu senpai.

It's been a month since the party ended...

I still want to dance...

Well the ending is better than the no end the manga had with Hyakkimaru and Dororo never meeting up again. It takes Hyakkimaru 50 years to get his body back and he never gets to meet up with his loli. Atleast 2019 adaption heavily implies the two will meet up again.

I need more adult Dororo in my life

Attached: 1559764386697.png (1920x1080, 2.52M)

It was pretty good until the last few episodes where everything got rushed or fell apart.
Yeah that part was better. What the fuck was the thing under the floorboards though? With the crystals.

Nah, It had good pacing.

Filler .

Stop talking about this anime! The party is over!

>It takes Hyakkimaru 50 years to get his body back
Wait what? So the manga is longer or just the epilogue saying he still went to recover parts? Are there even more parts he needed to collect?

>What the fuck was the thing under the floorboards though? With the crystals.
Don't know if it was ever explained but I'm assuming the crystal was related to the demons and the source to why the land was so shitty that forced Daigo to make the deal with the demons in the first place,I think it was hinted at that if Daigo had been able to hold out longer the land would of gone back to normal with but I could be wrong on that

Or it could of just been an excuse for a Pluto easter egg

Attached: Pluto.png (1233x1302, 1.24M)

It was good.
Last three anime that I watch is dororo, one punch man, and shield hero. And this is how I rank them.
1. Dororo
2. One punch man S2
3. Shield hero

But you're right, the ending feels rushed:
1. The death of the queen, prince, and the adopted father happens because "Muh redemption"
2. Hyakkimaru leaving Dororo because "Muh soul searching"
3. Dororo not being the final boss because "Muh original story"

Attached: that tongue.jpg (720x480, 37K)

Tahomaru's murder was fucking retarded, there was no reason for the mother, Taho, and Jukai to just die

Taho did nothing wrong, Hyakki was an asshole. and his girlfriend was best girl

there were like 48 iirc

Don't know anything about the manga. Is there room for a second season? Would like to see Hyakki and Dororo meet again.

but she became his daughter wife so it doesn't matter.

Yeah it upset me they just sorta hung out in a crumbling fiery house instead of following them through the fucking secret passage.

I don't even see the idea of killing off Tahomaru

He was one of the most noble characters in the show. the last few episodes seem a bit rushed is all, I'll take it since the minor episodes like with the spider were what made the show really click

I think he WOULD have been noble if his idea wasn't "Keep feeding the demons, surely nothing can go wrong."
I thought everyone sided with Daigo was absolutely fucking retarded. They are DEMONS, not gods. There was absolutely no chance that they would leave the land in peace if just one kid gets ate and dies.

>Last three anime that I watch is dororo, one punch man, and shield hero. And this is how I rank them.
>1. Dororo 2. One punch man S2 3. Shield hero
Well that doesn't mean much when OPM s2 and Shield Hero were both shit.

If a 50 year old remake is more popular than OPM and Shieldfag says alot, user...

It's the best anime per many years. It's have the end of the strong story.

I would recommended to watch it for everybody.

And I think that it does need the seconds session or something like that shit.

BUT still it's not better than Kimetsu no Yaiba from the same season.

The idea was that they knew what the demons were, they just accepted the cost over what the situation was before, on the first episode all of Daigo's citizens were going through a famine. Tahomaru wasn't dumb he just accepted the fact that it's better that a few die rather than everyone

WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING THE OST?

God you're retarded, Dororo was done for after the repetitive episodes and that was around ep. 7 at best.

>Dororo not being the final boss
Why would she be the final boss? Forgive me but I don't know a whole lot about this. Aren't they friends?

Original manga didn't even have proper ending.

WHy not? What did you do to it, scumbag?

Damn, that many? Didnt know that. Thanks.

Tezuka, being the autistic retard he was, made like 20 series at a time and only bothered finishing a handful

because you got too many 5s

I LOVE DORORO

I WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO DORORO

If I get 5 5s, I get to impregnate Dororo.

Attached: Dororo cunny.png (1920x1080, 265K)

It probably has to do with something related to a "redemption through death" concept. And while I find it dumb, there's no point with arguing with something written on the 60's either.

So close user...
That's what I want to know too. Why isn't it advertised at all?

nice

dororo is cute and funny.

Attached: d8db36d6dae709963038ef036ac76c120.jpg (1125x978, 85K)

I honestly think the problem with the ending isn't so much the pacing, but the fact that it just wasn't very definitive. Presumably because they want to leave something open for a potential sequel.

No, I don't really think they were considering a sequel. It's just bad writing.

I guess? It just felt to me like a "to be continued" ending rather than a "ending" ending.

To me it felt a lot like the typical "up to your intepretation" ending because nips refuse to give you comprehensible endings. They must have thought it was better this way.

It seemed to me like it was pretty obvious that Dororo and Hyakkimaru were going to meet again. They just didn't want to show it, or the kind of person both ended up as for some reason.

FIGMA/ FIGURINES WHEN

Attached: D_cMQBmUIAA-Tf4.jpg (846x1200, 172K)

Is the manga worth reading compared to the anime? I have a bunch of Tezuka’s other stuff but never read Dororo

Yeah, at least it wasn't the piss poor finale of the manga. My complain is mostly that I wish they'd dedicate some time to Hyakki reacting to having his sight back, and one last meaningful interaction with Dororo. It all went by so quickly
Soon.

Attached: D_hai21UwAAoV31.png (600x744, 263K)

There's some stuff that didn't make it into the anime but that's about it
Unless they go the Blood Will Tell route

>something written on the 60's either.
The fiery death is anime original tho

I just wanted Aniki to say goodbye, see you later to Dororo instead of ghosting her like that. They barely got any screentime together that last episode, despite their relationship being the soul of the show. I don't know what Mappa was thinking, especially as they kind of ship them

Attached: top 10 famous last words.jpg (500x281, 37K)

The new anime ruined some arcs that were more entertaining in the manga, so read it anyway, it's short.

Has anyone here read (any translations of) the animage or otomedia articles?

Attached: D_Fynw9VUAExlD2.jpg (472x1024, 127K)

Is that adult Dororo?

No. There aren't high quality scans around.

>どろろの母
It's Dororo's mom, Ojiya

>My complain is mostly that I wish they'd dedicate some time to Hyakki reacting to having his sight back, and one last meaningful interaction with Dororo. It all went by so quickly
I agree. It just took the impact out of what should have been a very emotional parting.

>They barely got any screentime together that last episode, despite their relationship being the soul of the show. I don't know what Mappa was thinking, especially as they kind of ship them
I honestly think that's the biggest reason why the ending felt so inconclusive. The main relationship of the entire show really should have gotten more of a send off.

is this official?:

Fanmade.
But next Sunday they might announce more official figs at Wonfest and show Hyakki's figma prototype.

She's like 14

I hate the japanese obsession with these vague non-endings.
Anime could certainly use a final wrap-up episode after the time skip.

Attached: 1538211085583.png (396x353, 99K)

How was it rushed? If anything the pacing dragged in the middle of the story.

that's a manly dororo

>14
Prime Dororo then

Cool

But I still want to dance!

She had the final demon inside of her in the Blood Will Tell game.

user, that only makes it better.

So, an adult by the time period's standards.

Did they actually confirm that? I assumed that she was just an adult.

Is there a good scan?

No, no confirmation. I guess if you compare her to Mio or any of the qties appeared in the show she is probably be around d their age, a teenager and not older than Hyakki.

thats the best one afaik

Attached: D_A6h9KUYAADrW7.jpg (253x320, 31K)

Dororo was at least better than Neon Genesis Evangelion

no it wasn't

Yes it was, redditor.

It was a great show, the end was still good despite feeling rushed.

That's not a very high hurdle to surpass for an anime. Only popular shonen/Naruto clones and cash grabs are worse than NGE.

>Make ONE remake AFTER 50 years
>Turns out to be good

>Make dozens of remakes and alternative realities/timelines bullshit during 20 years after release
>Still pure shit

You cannot defend this

The ending was rushed? How much longer would you people stretch it out? There wasn't anything left to tell. Hikki wanted his body back, taro had it. They fight. There's absolutely nothing left to resolve

Editors were pushing him to work on something else, and the story had lost steam by in its seond half. Thus, Tezuka left the story with a ridiculously open ending, having Hyakkimaru fight a group of demons to get back multiple parts in a single fight, having him abandon Dororo, and finally skipping forward in time 50 years, showing that Hyakki did, indeed, end his quest.
Every single adaptation of the series has tried to come up with an actual conclusion. They mostly failed.

so if she grows older does the tattoo on her back stretch out or what?

last for doror is sexy

Attached: @ya_slow.jpg (1450x2048, 301K)

Only just caught up. I don't know what you guys mean with the ending being rushed, I thought it was pretty much exactly what it had to be, except maybe the mom and woodworker just sitting in the wreckage waiting to die.

why didnt aniki stop by to say goodbye?

Attached: D_b8nFEVAAEsoFK.jpg (768x1200, 210K)

Hyakkimaru couldn't take a break after the battle and fucked off without even telling Dororo. They were the driving force of the show, but the director thought that Biwamaru's monologues stealing screen time was more important than Dororo and Hyakki having a chat and discussing the events. Also Tahomaru's change of heart upon hearing Hyakki's magic words was poorly executed due to lack of time, it didn't have a big emotional impact on me to be honest.
Aside from the timeskip my favorite part of the episode was when Hyakkimaru and Daigo confronted each other.

How many years did she have to wait?

Attached: D_b8nFNUEAA-IiC.jpg (938x1200, 219K)

Felt like an eternity

Holy shit.

We'll see them again in Mappa Troika.

No I don't know how that's supposed to work. But Isekai Quartet did.

Attached: mappa.jpg (640x905, 187K)

>Mappa Troika
whats that?

Attached: begone.png (322x216, 112K)

>Isekai Quartet but with MAPPA shows

no way

seriously?

Blood Will Tell still has the best Dororo ending.

I thought that was the last demon's form?
