Will they recover or are they finished?

fuck you.

they'll be back, stronger than ever.

I unironically hope they will find a way.

>Even if they recover, things will never be the same
If they do make a full recovery, I think this is something they can just leave in the past. We do have two upcoming movies that are said to be fine.

no, they lived long enough to become a villain anyway

Not a KyoAni fan, but I want them to keep on going for the benefit of the industry.

Attached: ab70033cd7165c89fd8588cd8b020c09.jpg (480x640, 78K)

They absolutely will recover. The hospitalized people will recover and come back to train the new generation of animators that will join to fill up the 30 or so vacancies. They still have a lot of talent and will continue to attracting more with their overall culture.

Are we still at 34 deaths?

I've read on here that some of them have to get limb amputations, many will not come back for sure. I don't really like most of Kyoani's shit but they were a pillar of the industry, a shining example of how to run a studio. A lot of other studios have recently nosedived or are on shaky ground, it wouldn't look good for anime overall if Kyoani went down after them like this.

I want them to be finished.
And hopefully the rest of the worthless industry follows them into the grave.

>I've read on here that some of them have to get limb amputations,
where from also is their a list of the deceased?

What I heard thrown around (with no source as usual) was that one person got their legs amputated. As long as they can still use their arms and hands there's still hope. Of course I don't blame if they decide to call quits, but if I was in their shoes, I think I'd want to keep going.

They're gonna make it, if there's one group of people in the animation industry that I trust it's them.

I wish they didn't die. I wish they survived with horrible injuries and has to voice their characters through plastic tubes :3

haha good one my frend !

>that one person got their legs amputated
this is so fucked up man

My understanding is that the police aren't releasing names until after they're done with the autopsies, or something stupid. I think they might also be trying to let some of this blow over so the families can grieve in relative peace.

They're toast.

Attached: carlos.jpg (500x367, 20K)

Carlos! >:o

it dropped back down to 33 1/3 but i expect it will eventually rise to 45, maybe even 78

I can't read moon and 95% of the sources are yahoo jp articles with walls of runes that google translate couldn't begin to make sense of or random twitter posts. I won't know concrete details for a while I'm sure. There's no telling what they will do.
>Japan work culture in general is a shit show
>Kyoani is an exception to the above at least relatively for studios
>they lost a ton of physical and digital records stored in their main office
>potential lawsuits if the fire code/security rumors here are even half true
>only a few of the lost or what they do are identified
>extent of survivors' injuries unknown, believed to be pretty bad for some at least
>the physical building will have to be abandoned and torn down, no salvaging it
>most of them are women
Is ptsd a thing in Japan? If the survivors come back will they be able to handle remembering that half the people they worked with for years don't exist anymore? I guess they would be split to the studio's other office locations which would help.

You worthless wetback.

>Is ptsd a thing in Japan?
PTSD is a thing everywhere, have some fucking empathy

>>potential lawsuits if the fire code/security rumors here are even half true
like what may I ask?

I'm going to be charitable and assume they meant something more like "Will they be able to get adequate treatment for PTSD related issues in Japan?"
Mental healthcare is shit in burgerland, but I don't know if it's any better in the land of 仕方がない

Nope, terrible shame and stigma against mental healthcare in Japan. Sasuga.

:/

Imagine being so deprived of human interaction that you must fish for replies on Yea Forums by being the edgiest possible.
Didn't Freud warn people of this kind of early abandonment?

>r*dditspacing

>legs amputated
>if i was in their shoes

Yes they will. This arson case caused a serious short term issue for future productions but people are going to show up and buy a lot of their shit in support for a short while until they get back on their feet

Fuck I didn't even realize it. I'm sorry.

They’re rolling in the funds, sympathy and goodwill, they’ll be fine

What are the chances they accept any of the gofundme money, and roughly what % would they see from the charity scam? I can see their merch and existing releases doing very fucking well with supporters, and their Free movie is still set to air on schedule. I know based Abe hates anime especially moeshit/fujobait, but I can see him and the country rallying behind Kyoani after this disaster. They'll also have a huge selection of talent and newbies to choose from the rest of the industry.

>Violet Evergarden movie will make billions thanks to this tragedy

>mfw tranny janny thinks xe can ban me

By the way I wasn't trolling so rule 3 don't apply. I meant all I said. Fuck KyoAnus.

This is gonna be one heavy orchestra isn't it? A lot of the tracks are sad as hell too.

Attached: D_-GXPrU0AE9hZ5.jpg (1001x1200, 162K)

I hope their support lasts, maybe anime won’t die after the Olympics after all

Well if it does die, it probably won't be in horrific suffering, unlike 40% of the KyoAnus staff.

yes.

Meanwhile, what are they gonna do with the arsonist? Sentence him to death or be forced to spare his life and rehab him because of the pressure from western liberals or meddling international human rights organizations?

In 1970 all of the Marshall University football team, save for about four people who didn't travel to a road game, died in a plane crash. Players, coaches, boosters, everyone. Everyone died. And they played football again the very next season.

We all have to realize that things cannot end this way. The fucking demon who did this wanted to wipe KyoAni from the face of the Earth. And guess what? If KyoAni gives up and goes caput, THAT MEANS HE FUCKING WON! Do you want that thing to win?!

The most amazing thing about humanity is how resilient and unyielding people are when something horrible happens. And the Japanese have mastered it: They had a bustling industrial economy just a few years after getting razed to the ground in World War II. It's in their DNA.

KyoAni is going to be fine. In fact, they're going to kick the fucking shit out of every other studio even more than they have in the past. I believe in them.

If there is one good thing about this, most of the survivors will now have first hand experience on animating a pstd crippled like violet. Masterpieces are usually made by depressed people.

>he unironically calls people demons
Save your posts for reddit you retarded 12 y.o.

That thing isn't a person. Fuck it. I'm glad Japan doesn't fuck around with the death penalty because it's getting sent back to Hell where it belongs. You can't look at what happened here and tell me that the Devil doesn't exist.

They will probably recover eventually but it will be basically a different studio after losing so many of their people.

Since I don't seem to find any thread talking about the news anymore I ask here, was the dead seiyuu identified yet?

LMAO

what a moralfaggot

I don't want him to die, I want him to see everyone he failed to kill continue being successful why he rots in jail.

He's dead as fuck, Abe has his sights on him and isn't letting him get away. He's being given the best medical treatment possible so they can fucking destroy him in court. His entire ife is going to be revealed, members of his family might kill themselves in shame. Only thing that can save him is the insanity defence which might actually have a chance.

Attached: 1545374509578.png (800x1182, 111K)

Realistically? They are about as done as me. Hopefully the survivors don't dream of their dead coworkers or any of the other terrible shit that goes hand in hand with this sort of thing. I hope they hang the fucker that did it.

>with no sources as usual
yomiuri.co.jp/national/20190720-OYT1T50157/
Last paragraph.

Unironically based.

successful at being horrifically scarred amputees you mean

33 dead, 6 non employees deducted from survivor tally, majority of surviving animator(s) crippled in some manner

'Kyoto Animation' the company might remain, but the team [studio 1] is dead
See Blizzard after Blizzard North was purged

cuck

Depending on how long they take to work up to a death sentence, he might survive long enough to see that. But he is going to die, miracles can't save him now.

So, are you saying that the arsonist is not an evil person?

Why? People die every second. Excuse moi for not giving a shit about a notorious feminazi studio.

think that will happen?

He is a person, but he should not be treated like a human being after what he did.

Evil is a meme kiddo

This situation made for decent entertainment though

>anime won't die after the Olympics
>when Japan's most popular characters are the official ambassadors
>when they don't want the industry to collapse after thousands of people are jobless
>when it won't be much different than the 1998 Olympics

Thanks. I think this is good news as it seemed everyone was going to die in the hospital and since we know about only one person that had to be amputated the rest is hopefully in better condition.

Agreed

So, do you love the sights of people being amputated, then?

>Le edgy nihilism
Literally light yourself on fire.

I have no idea what you're trying to say user.

fuck me never mind

Attached: Demo.png (883x567, 69K)

If you met that edgy person in real life, what would you do?

Never had the chance to find out, unlike the lucky folks at KyoAni.

The only reason why he is still alive right now is because everyone including the victims want to know why he did it.
Even in the unlikely case this guy escape punishment by being certified insane, there is no way kyoanifags will let him walk when he burnt down their waifus.

>足を切断しなければならない社員もいる
"There was also company member who had to have their legs cut off"
I think it might actually refer to more than one person as well.

Probably something mean. Which is why I only talk like this here and not IRL.

If they recover they will make grim dark shows.

youd think so with all this moralshittery

If their legs needed to be amputated, their arms are fucked

I’d punch his teeth right down his fucking throat.

I wouldn't mind that, but I don't know if it would be really appropriate.

>Yea Forums: 9/11 is hilarious

>also Yea Forums: oh no muh favorite weeb studio #pray4kyo you fucking shitlord

>2 days later
>Yea Forums and /pol/ crossboarders are still shitting everything up

Now that's what I call edgy

Would you murder him?

you wouldn't even reach them lmao

cope more manlet moralfag

What's funny is, if this was literally any other studio, these same people would just write "F in chat Ecks dee"

how so?

Weird. Why weren't you here when the shimoneta VA died

What is wrong with murdering mentally-ill people? The world is overpopulated, anyway.

uhhh

I'm not the poster you were asking. In fact I'm the one you're asking about.

L M A O

There are plenty of people being edgelords about this too.

Well duh, if it was a shit studio rather than literally the best one it wouldn't matter as much.

I got IRL shit to do unlike you little nerd cucks

Kyoani will heal when you kyoanifags chill with your dumb threads.
No, the studio isnt going to die with just a fire, other autists already donated 1.7 million USD which should be enough to get the company going in about a month.
Not to mention that it would help with the hiring of new talents with a juicy income.

Kyoani was definitely going to get the biggest response from Yea Forums, but this happening to any studio is a terrible thing for anime and a terrible thing for this board and site. Even Toei or Pierrot who shit out tons of low quality shonen and export label to pinoys, it would be shitty. You're fucking delusional if you think otherwise, completely lost in your own little world.

Exactly. You don't belong here normalfag

>They had a bustling industrial economy just a few years after getting razed to the ground in World War II
Japan got off lightly and the US helped them rebuild dumb nigger

Reminder that not all people can be redeemed. Moralfags need to learn this fact.

It is a shit studio though. Phantom World alone is one of the worst anime ever.

Go back to your Anime Discord groups and subreddit for the love of god.

well this is an anime site not AMERICAN site

2mil is not that much for an animation studio that just lost 20% of its workforce and might have another 20% not come back.

I've been here since 2008. Cope more.

>The world is overpopulated
The growth rate has being going down since the 60s and total population is set to stabilize around 2100.

Attached: Updated-World-Population-Growth-Rate-Annual-1950-2100.png (3000x2100, 258K)

tell that to this massive sperg

Not going to lie, if this happened to any other studio/company I wouldn't even feel sad. I am looking at you kusokawa and khara

Attached: 65147103_p1.jpg (1600x1060, 273K)

Only 81 years left, then.

Is there a list of bodies yet? Who do we know is dead/alive?

When will this happen to Disney or the U.S. government?

wtf mao did something good?

Those are objectively evil organizations, that doesn't count.

I don't think that money isn't going to the company. It's most likely going to the victims

They lost a third of their workforce, and since it was studio 1 they were the veterans of the company. They also lost everything they've been working on and the minuscule profits they make aren't enough to just rebuild. You can't recover from this.

What the fuck is the status on Takemoto?

No one has posted source on the studio's total employee count yet.

Missing aka a charred coal

>population growth rate going down
>meanwhile total world population is going up
Hmm...

Anybody that hasn't been "found" is presumed deceased.

The next two movies are already confirmed to be pretty much done. This will probably cause some delays on other projects but won't be that big of a deal

It's like 160-ish. If you want source just google kyoani's yearly financial data and you'll come across with screens of documents stating their employee count

KyoAni is feminized trash they'd destroy japan if they had the chance ;) kiked out ya know

Yes...? It will stop going up around 2100.

Attached: 2019-Revision-–-World-Population-Growth-1700-2100.png (6370x4540, 589K)

Yeah the wording is ambiguous as to whether it's one or several. For now we should assume it's one unless he clarified it's many by using 数人 or something.

Fucking brainlet. But don't trust that bullshit graph, the vast majority of world population growth is from the third world being being propped up by the first. It's not very stable and isn't clear how long it will continue.

It's fine, Kyoani finds itself dead along the way.

Just becasue something is slowing down, doesn't mean it's not still moving forward dipshit.

If the world is already overpopulated it's only going to get worse from now on

I guess killing 33 people and injuring more is not evil at all by your standard. There's no humanity left in that faggot anymore, that guy deserve is a demon

Gofunme has reason $1.8 million. It'll most likely reason $2 million by tomorrow.

This is 4channel, faggot. Don't expect any kinds of sympathy here.

Yes, that's accounted for. I hope you don't mind living in a world of Africans and Chinese.

Attached: historical-and-projected-population-by-region.png (849x586, 67K)

What's their reason?

Africa will have a population collapse as soon as either A) the West stops shipping them tens of millions of doses of free anti-AIDS drugs, or B) Ebola finally gets out, which is pretty much inevitable.

Fuck off to

World War III when? I want nuclear strikes on many places around the world.

>president hatta: "we're trying to do everything we can in taking measures against the PTSD that (victims and families) are showing."

twitter.com/nhk_news/status/1152779489123815424?s=19

World War III would mean the end of the world and you know it.

Not Chinese. Pajeets, Mudshits and SEAniggers. The population of China is actually declining rn, it won't be nearly as big of a proportion by then.

This guy should not be able to be allowed to plea insanity. Everything is pre-planned. I hope Japan laws rape him

It's not overpopulated and it will stop growing soon anyway.

Attached: prevalence-of-undernourishment-in-developing-countries-since-1970.png (848x584, 52K)

You do realize that if AIDS has a full on outbreak from Africa the entire population on Earth could die right? the population leveling in 2100 would be the least of our problems.

I figured. Waiting for the day when there are many more people than usual and the keycard system is disabled. He's clearly a lunatic but not outright retarded. That isn't going to look good on Kyoani but it makes him look even worse, he's going to be wrecked so hard in court.

>The population of China is actually declining rn
Nice source.

That would be great. The end of the world is the most beautiful thing you could imagine. Why are you afraid of it?

I look forward to age-reversing technology, so I can live forever and all that jazz.

i want to cuddle with akira!!!

Attached: Akira Wallpaper2.jpg (1920x1200, 769K)

Not as beautiful as the heat death of the universe, wouldn't you agree?

Literally who?

If the whole plagiarism thing is true, this guy is certainly a lunatic, but he's not dumb by any means. He literally calculated this in a way that creates the maximum amount of damage possible in the best possible time-frame he had.

This wasn't a random attack of rage he had, he's is showing the mindset of a psychopath.

Given so many western liberals interfering with other countries' problems these days, I doubt Japan will give the arsonist death penalty.

death is beautiful, kiddo

Nobody in Japan cares about western liberals. Abe and Trump are bros. None of the EUcucks have any power. This was one of the worst planned mass killings ever in Japan. He's a dead man walking.

I could find only this and I see no employee count.

Attached: fxX9Qc9.jpg (1536x888, 297K)

Death penalty is a lighter sentence compare to public lynching by kyoanifags. His picture profile and name is public domain now, there is no escape for him. I don't know if it is just Yea Forums bias or not but not even the Fukushima earthquake disaster generated this much goodwill

What if this whole event makes them become more dark. Punished KyoAni starts turning out edgelord chuuni anime

is public lynching even a thing in japan?

Some stupid literal faggot who had shitty opinions about lolicon.

It already happened. There is nothing but darkness beyond the stars you see at night. Light you only see because of how slow light speed is.

Meanwhile in India, there's no stopping the the birth rates.

>征業員
Oh I guess this is it. So 150 four years ago. Would be nice to have a more recent report.

Well the more time passes, sadness will mutate into anger and resentment, they are already dealing with PSTD like says, I can't imagine how Kyoani survivor staff might want to draw cute things again when all that surrounds them is nothing but things that reminds them the hell they had to live.

It's complicated, these kind of things change your mentallity forever. And art is an extension of your mental state and personality.

Same thing in Indonesia and other Islamic countries.

If this occured in Singapore instead of Japan, the arsonist would be a subject to caning.

Maybe they'll begin hunting down the perpetrator and his family.

I'm beginning to think that other countries need to at least bring back public canings. There are some crimes that don't really warrant anything more than a humiliating public beating and that would probably deter most people from ever doing whatever it is they did again. Aoba, however, deserves to hang.

I wish the train nigger meme was true, now that would have been something.

Attached: 1544303043156.jpg (1280x720, 76K)

I wonder if the other KyoAni studios and offices are going to get some better fire safety now

It's gonna be impossible unless we get rid of liberals who think that all criminals should be treated as human beings.

This. Abe’s “Liberal” DP is far right wing.

He was saying that if they really killed anime, there’d be no ambassadors or the thousands of people holding up the industry.

Kyoani will find a way.
八田英明社長「大切な作品を事件のせいで無駄にしたくない、亡くなったスタッフのためにも残されたみんなで頑張りたい」

Hatta better be renovating all studios to meet world's standard rather than japs' standard if he didn't want something like this happens again.

Both.

What are the odds it would happen twice?

The copycat was already doing that in Osaka.
And it's very likely that there will be more copycats that do something like this that eventually make the government to restrict gasoline sales.

I think hitting somebody with a cane is more humane than sticking a petty criminal in the same place as psychos and face the possibility of being raped or murdered in prison if he doesn't play ball and join the right gang. Obviously, I'm speaking from a very US/shithole-centric perspective, but whatever.

KyoAni drawing school to reopen it;s doors again 6 months to a year from now. Mark this post.

>every desk gets installed with a personal evacuation capsule that rockets employees to a nuke-proof bunker with enough supplies to last for 100 years

You can't restrict gasoline sales, people need that shit to drive. If you restrict jerrycans people can just buy it at the pump and siphon it out back home.

You would need a car for that though. Most Japs don't have cars

If KyoAni needs more security personnel, I'd drop everything for them. I'd defend everyone's smiles with my life if it came down to it.

t. angry Tennessee /k/ redneck

Japan has 615 cars/1000 people. You can also just rent one for a day.

>Some stupid literal faggot who had shitty opinions about lolicon.
like what kind of opinions

based

Someone who would do something like this would be less likely to have a car and might not even have a drivers license so they couldn't even rent a car

Everyone having guns doesn't work out to no/less mass killings either in reality.

But fixing the fire safety of buildings works to some extent even against arson.

>The copycat was already doing that in Osaka.
huh when???

I wonder why that other user even posted a screencap of some irrelevant nigger then.

A day after the incident. No one died fortunately.

do you have a link and it good no one was hurt

Source?

A reference no one will get, but I chuckled sensibly.

Shinji was identified through his driving license.

PhoenixAni finds a way

Unironically thought that was Saber from the thumbnail, maybe they really did rip off his work

>muh kyoani will find its way
No. Their work will be fucking dark now and I don't watch edgy shit.

Naked Gun or the books?

So some anons already kill themselves we just don't know it

huh what??

I have no idea maybe it happened we will never know..

Attached: 1427874277344.jpg (289x263, 15K)

I thought about it, to be honest.

I think old school kyoanifags would probably offed themselves, not the new kind.

roger

If you're going to kill yourself make sure to leave all your belongings to Kyoani

I hope they recover but I doubt that's possible. Even if they somehow make up for all those losses it won't really be the same studio anymore.

Are you THE oldfags?

I've been watching their stuff since Haruhi, friend.

>I don't really like most of Kyoani's shit but they were a pillar of the industry, a shining example of how to run a studio
This. I don't expect underage contrarian edgelords to acknowledge any of this, but it's not about "moe shit" or some other retarded meme argument. KyoAni was all about high production values, proper talent management and a constant drive to become better, they set the example for many. They made the industry better.

i think the right choice would be. keep him alive. keep him off drugs. keep him locked up in isolation for the rest of his shitty 40+ years on this planet. let him break slowly and destroy him completely.

death penalty is such an easy way out. we can do much worse

Kyoani's dead, the entire medium may as well be dead, and so is this board.

It was nice knowing you faggots, but I think I'll just be spending my free time playing videogames and shitposting on Yea Forums for the foreseeable future instead.

I'm glad, friend

Attached: 1434707698419.gif (496x279, 996K)

From what I know in animation, names tend go around in different companies. The effects from the casualties will probably reach almost the whole industry. We're going to see more darker works and those about overcoming tragedies, kind of like post WWII. Also Kyoani's CEO is very adamant about moving forward so I believe Kyoani will survive, they're one of the best animation companies and I can see fellow animators across companies helping out. They might even come out more successful, but not quite the same.

If the medium is dead then videogames is even more dead
Fucking weird watching this scene right now

Imagine all the top animators across the industry banding together to make a show for Kyoani. It might even surpass VEG in visual quality

Are Japanese buildings made of cardboard or something?

"Fun" fact: I got the new K-On collector's Blu-ray box set from Sentai and it actually came in a few days before the arson. I was about to watch the whole series all over again and then this happened- suffice to say, I won't ever be able to watch anything that KyoAni has ever made in the same way ever again.

can you post a picture of it user

I remember not watching K-ON because it's moeshit but later watching it because I have no shit to watch when eating and falling in love with the anime.

>K-On collector's Blu-ray box set f

I don't have a pic of it on-hand but here's a pic for ants of everything it includes, it's both seasons, the movie, a soundtrack CD, booklets, guitar picks, and some other stuff. The price went down and I couldn't resist getting it.

I think Mugi is the cutest but Yui is probably my favorite overall character.

I really liked Koe no Katachi, unironically liked it more than Your Name, I hope they find a way

if she was real would you wife Yui?

s-sorry I didn't meant for that

I would gladly be her Indian boyfriend in college.

Koe no Katachi is literally the only anime BD I have purchased. Not even a fan of kyoani or their works in general but that movie was something else.

Good thing Japanese still make stuffs like this
thisvid.com/videos/hot-girl-farting-until-her-poop-is-come-out/

i hope they do, its one thing for the company to financially collapse under the weight of hubris and produce animation that nobody likes, its another for a company's hope and dreams be cut short just because some guy decides to decimate ~1/4th of the company citing plagiarism without even going through due process.

can you imagine going to work, only to find out abruptly that today's the last day of your life?
the worst part that comes out of this is the lack of closure for the broken families and friends, not being able to settle all your affairs before dying.

C'mon Yui be a pal

so are hirano aya and takemoto the only confirmed deaths so far? and most likely the young girl who they showed with her grandparents?

>The terrible events that occurred at around 10:30 am on July 18, 2019, have killed and damaged the lives of our employees, including young people in the future.

>Aims for animation, young people gathered from all over the country. It is a pity that our employees who have worked together for many years have closed their future in such a form, it is disappointing to say in words. They were really good and wonderful friends. It's a huge pain for us and for the industry.

>The details of the case are as announced by the Fushimi police station. There is nothing further from our company to say. We are currently working with the family and relatives of injured employees, and the families and relatives of the deceased as much as possible.

>Therefore, we decided to ask the following lawyers for media correspondence. For the time being, please refrain from direct coverage to our company.

There is talk about Cygames buying them. Hope it's true

What are they going to do exactly with the fund money?

Only the directors perished. Directors don't really do any work.

The animators and storyboarders and writers are all fine.

honestly, this otaku probably did kyoani a favor.

Yes user, 34 directors perished, some as young as 21, and the other 35 who are injured and traumatized for life were all directors too.

>Only thing that can save him is the insanity defence which might actually have a chance.
Nope, he'd have to have acted more on impulse for it, afaik. He planned too much, even filling the gas cans into a bucket so it would only take a split second to flip it over and setting fire to the stairs so people wouldn't escape. It's pretty obvious that her knew what he was doing. Of course he's still mentally ill, but not enough to make it a defense.

There's more to overpopulation than just "there's enough food", user. Living is different from surviving.

At the very least don't expect their shows to be the same if they ever recover.

Man, seeing pictures like this is really hard.

>Do you want that thing to win?!
Aoba is to KyoAni what Near was to Light.

They're all going to be DARK or overly genki.

>never recover
>takes a few year to recover
Besides those that are already confirmed to release, consider them dead for the next few years. They will have to train new people from the ground up.

some who survived will need help adapting

Well, they will probably have an extra pair of shoes for sale pretty soon so there's a good chance you can, in fact, be in their shoes.

>there will never be a KyoAni adaptation of City

Tragedy like this is how masterpieces are made.
There is no way they will die from this, this tragedy can only make them stronger.

KyoAni can keep going on outsourced work from other companies for a while. They've been doing that since they were founded and have a great reputation.

depends on how good pic related is at animating.

Attached: best animator.jpg (700x400, 257K)

No, when you lose your legs your arms get more powerrful to compensate. It's like going blind.

Why would anime die after the olympics?

Nagano.

Same reason I posted it; looking back I realized I misworded it.

Let the legend come back to life

The problem with that is tax payer money. If I lived in Japan I wouldn't feel comftable knowing my taxes are going towards food and shelter for that fat fuck.

The talent is gonna be impossible to replace with other people, Such a fucking shame.
You can get away with losing a building and data but talent is too much.

Attached: 1545502658671.png (1280x720, 882K)

They'll find a way, even if it takes time. If they shut down the arsonist wins. There are more people that support KyoAni than people who hate KyoAni.

Can't even begin to think about the mood at that concert.

This thing is in 5days time? It is not getting cancel?

I think it's possible what's left may get absorbed into a larger studio at some point. Would have to be a Japanese holding company, though.

There are shittons of talented people out there, KyoAni can pull it off.

>Even if they recover, things will never be the same
That doesn't have to be a bad thing. Nobody is perfect, they can change for the better.

The WTC had no direct impact on my life, I didn't know a single person working there. I could feel some empathy towards the victims, but it was an abstract relation.
This is different. KyoAni has influenced part of my life, I watched and liked most of their shows for years, even went there to visit the studio and bought merchandise in their shop, following their work. This is much more personal.
9/11 would've had more impact on me if I were doing business with a company located there that subsequently lost employees in the attack. It's only logical that more people on Yea Forums care for an anime studio they know and love than for some Americans with whom they had no connection whatsoever.

Youve never been to an airport before 9/11.

He killed dozens...

To save anime

This not even other americans give a fuck about each other, you could blow up several states full of people and the other surviving ones would cheer it later or pretend to care to score political points.

Thread theme.

youtubemultiplier.com/5d3492f4d4e5c-kyoani-in-the-house-tonight.php

Hayao Miyazaki met with the families of the KyoAni victims. After a brief interview in which he expressed his condolences and hope for closure, he reportedly burst out laughing and made flame noises and mimicked two gas cans pouring.
He then picked up the child of a deceased victim and whispered into her ear "あなたのお父さんは死んだ、雌犬"(Your dad's dead, bitch), and proceeded to put on a pair of sunglasses and unleash a barrage of martial arts attack on the small child.
She was rushed to the Kyoto hospital where she was pronounced dead due to extreme trauma. When asked later about the incident, Miyazaki became visibly sexually aroused and repeated the same attack on the reporter.

Just woke up, any news other than that Reuters article on the perpetrator and KyoAni's statement?

>雌犬
>bitch
The Japanese equivalent of bitch in the insult sense is 雌豚.

Somehow I can imagine him doing that.

I was, I traveled across the USA in 97/98 (spent New Years in front of a police horse near Times Square) and flew to NY a few times after. Actually, I haven't been there SINCE 9/11, as my interests shifted to other countries. Not everybody here is 12, user.

Oh, now I get it - well, I can't compare the US restrictions since I haven't been there afterwards, and over here security was already tight. I remember smoking being allowed on flights, so it's easy to chalk up further restrictions to simply security "evolving" over time. It's also a bit strange to expect people to mourn 9/11 for the inconvenience on airports ... it's still abstract.

At least it's not 二豚二

Honestly I don't give as much of a shit about the studio as those that survived. Wonder how they'll handle getting back to work after being so physically debiltated not to mention the trauma of such an event. Considering their line of career I doubt there's much else of a choice to go back. Shit's really fucked up. These people will need great support far beyond monetary patreon stuff. Hope it works out for them.

No alteration of this will ever come close to being as funny as the Keanu one.

it will take time, and they may never fully recover to what they once were with the brilliant talent they've lost, but Hatta has said that the rest of the studio's employees are eager to work hard in honor of those lost.

>Yea Forums is one person

>t. armchair lawyer

I wonder, if KyoAni recovers, will it be the same KyoAni we know and love? All the talent lost, artists, directors, higher ups with the vision of what KyoAni is. I wonder if we will see a new KyoAni.

They'll probably have to whore themselves out for money at first. Taking any project and with a lower quality than they are known for. Then eventually rise up and get talent, but with a new vision. It might be interesting, but it will not be the KyoAni I love.

What other kind of lawyer is there? footstool lawyer? Sofa lawyer? Hammock lawyer? What's the hierarchy among these?

For what? Following established standards?

They still have multiple directors. Instead of having eight directors make a season and three movies, they'll just do a movie or a season.

The "world" isn't overpopulated. Shitty poor countries are overpopulated. Most first world countries have abysmally low birth rates, especially Japan. Unless your deepest wish is for the majority of the population to be starving Africans, the deaths of a bunch of young Japanese people didn't do much for the world.

if they've lost Takemoto, Kigami, Ikeda, Nishiya, etc then there's no way they'll ever be as they once were.
I think the only thing we can hope for is that the studio's nurturing nature can develop new talent going forward.

The survivors get final destinationed?

>Is ptsd a thing in Japan?
Yes. Though Japan actually haven't the proper resources to care for it or (or any mental disorder) is another thing.

They'll certainly recover but they'll never be the same again.
With Takemoto likely gone they'll have to place everything on Yamada, Ishidate and Ishihara's shoulders and we all know Yamada and Ishidate started doing drama. Expect many more grim stories from now on, especially from Ishidate who just lost his mentor Kigami on this stupid fire.

>Is ptsd a thing in Japan?
PTSD is a thing among pretty much all human beings

Will Future KyoAni make an anime about this event?

Absolutely not.

fuck you're dumb

I think Yamada could pull off a very poingent film on it

Time for some super edgy giraffe anime.

Slowly die in constant pain and agony years from now

Anime production is not exactly the most profitable business so even if they had profits they couldn't have been that much. Assuming they didn't have some massive debts they could probably recover in time. Though most likely they would either need to milk their own old projects even more (even though they already seem milked to death) or go back to making adaptations for Kadokawa getting less money but without the risk of having to invest their own capital.

They pocketed 12 million dollars last year and another 12 million the year before. They'll be fine financially speaking.

Dammit Carlos

Nice way of outing yourself normalfag. It certainly is bang average with pretty visuals but in no way it's one of the worst ever, now go watch anime for 2 years before coming back.

To most of these people Kyoani is "that studio that made the LGBT dragon show and has completely unverified superior staff treatment to other studios".

I don't get the joke, what is he sorry about?

Degenerate people like to joke about death and tragedies. They also "blame" him for having those employees work in a death trap of a building even though it met Japanese fire codes and they were RENTING the building.

Do we know if the arsonist is mentally retarded or something similar? I see a lot of people in this thread give him hate, so I assume he knew exactly what he was doing.

For years Yea Forums warned that that that light novel contest would be the end of KyoAni, but nobody guessed it'll be like this...

How do you know they were renting? That's good news if true, since it means they don't have to shoulder the costs. That doesn't make sense though, weren't they going to build a park there?

Is it even Sentai that is selling that? Amazon can be misleading about that stuff. You might be sending money to some random dude.

WTF how am I going to hate Adobe now? Is that real?

I'd imagine the anime industry are good customers and business is about relationships.
I'm not pouring shade on the gesture but its what you'd expect really.

I see their GM tweeted his condolences when it happened, wonder if he had the sway to loosen up the company's bank account. Either way that's a great thing they've done.

Yeah it's real and who care. Talk about the good news even if it's just for public image because it's more than they ever had to do.

What the fuck?

That looks super sketchy. It says Blu-ray in the title and has the Blu-ray cover, but the nsays DVD. Also, that's WAY overpriced. MSRP is $150, and major online anime retailers like Anime Corner Store and Rightstuf are selling it for not much more than half that.

It's definitely not: it's marketplace sellers, which I would generally avoid like the plague for anime (at best, you get gouged badly on the price; if you're less lucky, you get Chinese bootlegs).

From what I gather from the yahoo moonrunes, three of the injured recevied permanent eye damage, in other words went completely blind.

It's entirely possible to have permanent eye damage which does not render you completely blind. Nor does it necessarily mean that they had damage to both eyes in all cases.

I wonder how many of the injured will actually work again. Nerve damage, eye damage, respiratory damage. All of them debilitation for a physically demanding job like animator.

Carlos!

well there are mentally not quite sound people on the internet, especially this part of the internet.

It was a warining

it would make sense that the arms go stronger overtime much more quickly and effectively since the body has less members to take care of. It doesn't have to pump blood too far.

I don't think near blind people should be doing animation for a job. Extra strain to damaged eye or 1 remaining eye can lead to permanent blindness down the road. Also injury to hands, chronic pain, shortness of breath. You have to have a certain level of physical fitness to draw. It is a fairly mentally and physically taxing activity, especially as a job. I wonder what they will do now. Will they have some sort of disability support at least?

We see real examples from historical art masters. Their works in older age tend to decline in quality and detail. No energy.

God damn it

Hope fully not, the anime industry is better off without them

Ihope
they die.

They have created works in a completely different way than their counterparts.
Anime studios in Tokyo can create works by gathering free animators.
The same way can not be taken in Kyoto.

Unlikely, they lost a lot of talent and the survivors are in no physical or mental shape to work in the industry again. It's as if everyone in the building died on that day.
