Alter's a cold pragmatist while Altria's an idealist. Alter's foundations like in the same ideals, but she'll do anything to protect them. If she's hated as a tyrant, so be it. The role of a king is to mercilessly destroy all that threatens your kingdom. If oppression and cruelty can protect the kingdom, that too is a valid method.

While in HF she gives off the appearance of being cold, but looking at her actions she's still a loyal and caring person underneath. She does everything in her power to protect Shirou at every turn even when she is supposed to be having a fight to death with him. She has sympathy for Jeanne Alter who was born as corrupted person in a similar fashion as Saber Alter. She even has a little dog she takes care of and loves very much. This isn't to say that she isn't be a ruthless tyrant at times. I think forcibly corrupting all the servants of the Fuyuki Grail War was by far the most fucked up thing she's done to date.

That was to protect what needed to be protected. It was through Alter's actions that the Singularity wasn't allowed to complete, giving Chaldea a chance to fix it. In that instance, she was acting as the Protector of Humanity.

I'm not going to deny she got results in the end, but exposing people to all evils of the words and forcibly reversing their alignments is a horrible thing to do to someone. On a related note, I'm of the opinion that Saber Alter "lost" to Ritsuka, Mash, and Cu in the same way to "lost" to Shirou in SLH. What do you think?

Alter is an ends-justifies-the-means type. In a sense, she's similar to the Lion King, except perhaps not quite as extreme. Plus, we don't actually know what happened, so there's no guarantee that it's all her doing. If you look at the map, there was a massive struggle. Alter was desperately trying to protect something. That something was so important to her that she went as low as she could go for its sake.

She instantly recognized the shield that Mash was carrying. Of course she did; she's the one who gave Galahad that shield in the first place. So she knows exactly what it's capable of. She fired off Excalibur at it in spite of knowing full well what would happen.

Singularity F is perhaps the greatest mystery of Fate/Grand Order. It's not a Singularity created by Goetia, and 2004 Fuyuki isn't a Human Order Foundation so there's no reason for there to be a Singularity there in the first place. Furthermore, in the Grand Order timeline, 2004 for was the year of Fuyuki's first and only Holy Grail War, the one won by Marsberry and Solomon. Why was Fuyuki on fire? Why did it become a Singularity? Why were all the Servants except Cu Chulainn corrupted? Why did Saber Alter know about Chaldea, Solomon and the Grand Orders? What did she know?

My first guess is that she was protecting the Greater Grail given that's where she set up shop after Lev gave her a grail. I suppose he thought she would act selfishly and cause a rampage since that she was corrupted, but she turned around and started up the grail war right after. Then she managed to kill every single servant except Cu by Excaliburing them to death and they came back corrupted soon after. There isn't a Dark Sakura or Shadow around this time to go around corrupting servants so who or what else could possibly be causing this? Using them as soldiers for her own cause seems like a likely motive and she has a fairly powerful wish granting grail in her possession giving her the means as well. But I guess it will remain speculation until we inevitably go back to learn the mysteries of Fuyuki years from now. Also Cu wasn't corrupted since he somehow managed to avoid being murdered by Saber Alter.
