Genuine spoilers, but who knows if the anime will even cover this since it's not in the arc they're adapting.

>Gray's backstory
Gray is a descendant of the Pendragon bloodline but that's not her original face.
Her family is a family of gravekeepers, running one of the many cemeteries across Britain that claims to be the resting place of King Arthur. But her family, her entire village actually, is part of a cult.

When Gray was born with a passing resemblance to Saber, the cult freaked out and decided to have her be the second coming of King Arthur. They used magic to synchronize her essence to Saber's, planning on having her body transform into a perfect copy of Saber's so that Saber's soul could possess her and bring about the return of King Arthur.

When Saber was summoned in Fate/Zero, Gray's face and hair suddenly changed to be identical to Saber's. The cult, her family, and her mom most of all, treated her like royalty and like an object. She wasn't a person to them, she was King Arthur.

Eventually Waver found out about her. He saved her from her cult village before she could be possessed by Saber's soul and brought her to London.

>Add
Add is a special weapon called Logos React Replica that has been passed down Gray's family since Arthurian times. He is a seal on Rhongomyniad, Saber's holy spear, that keeps Rhongomyniad from losing its power. His personality is a copy of Sir Kay's, Saber's nii-san.

>Gray at the end of the LNs
When Shirou summons Saber in volume 10, Gray's body reacts to it just like it did when she was summoned in Zero. This time Gray's hair turns blonde, she gets advanced regeneration abilities, and she gets a dragon mana engine in her body just like Saber has so she basically generates mana just by breathing.

In the name of the truth and the Root,
Fuck Fate/Grand Order and God bless Makoto Sanda!

Attached: 1560461268374.png (1280x720, 771K)

Small trivia: Sanda is a huge FGOfag. He is also a close friend with pako and Shimazaki Nobunaga (Dantes, Arjuna, Arjuna Alter and Gudao VA).

For like three years it was a meme that Sanda could never roll Waver despite writing the series about Waver. When he finally got him he was number one on twitter trends for Japan for like the whole day and a bunch of other TM author and artists kept congratulating him in the comments of his tweet.

Very sad but really Nobu is only a GO shill cause they pay him well and it was his first chance to work with TM.
Much like Sanda and Narita, they really are only on board and constantly "praising" that cancer cause it's the big fad at the moment and they gotta ride its success. Also gives them some neat lore they can work with in much better mediums.

Nobu loved TM since the beginning though, he's a turbo nerd.

Yes, that's why he's happy to get to work with them at all even though it's the biggest piece of shit they've ever put out.

I NEEED more FGO references

Yes. The same mythos where Quetz and her 3 brothers destroyed humanity four times. Three times were as a prank by Teza.

FUCK GACHA

Using established lore and existing characters in the universe is not a gachashit reference.
Zepia as a major guest character in volume 6 is not a "Melty Blood reference".

Kidou Senki Babbage when?

>dude Riyo's so epic he's so self-aware haha let me just keep shoveling shit down my throat while I laugh at le ironic Riyo memes
Why are FGO fans so dumb?

>Tertiaries who don't know he dates back to before f/go

>why are gambling addicts acting like addicts?
Thanks for the revelation, captain obvious

GO didn't invent this character you dumbass. He's from Apocrypha Material.

I don't know user. It seems like Nobu genuinely likes and plays FGO as shown on his twitter and his conversation with other FGO seiyuus (like Takahashi Rie, Akabane Kenji, Kawanishi Kengo), Chaldea Radio, FGO live events,... He even shilled FGO in a stream/event of another non-TM work (iirc that's also a mobage) too. Usually those seiyuu who actually know and like Fate -Typemoon will get special treatments from Typemoon and DelightWorks, if you care enough to notice it.

Loli Olga is coming up eventually

How about we actually talk about Case Files?

Why did they skip the first 3 volumes of the LN again? Luvia just casually dropping this line is kind of weird, anime-onlys have no idea what she's talking about.

Attached: luvia gray.jpg (1280x720, 85K)

I believe it man, if I was asked to work on a brand new project by Type-Moon way back in 2015 when I was still deeply in love with the whole universe, I would've probably deluded myself to believe it was "awesome despite its flaws" or some dumb bullshit like that, which is probably what he believes.

Because the first volumes are slow and not good for a first season anime. They might be good for a second season prequel kind of thing before a third season of Atlas and Grand Resolution.

>Why did they skip the first 3 volumes of the LN again
It was decided that this arc would be the best to adapt into anime format after reviewing the series.

Also, it's the main plot of the series, or so I'm told.

Left or right?

Attached: Luvia designs.jpg (729x833, 86K)

Because this content is already dry and don't plan to do 5 seasons of this.
So they went in for a big arc actually suitable to be a show.

Sanda said a while ago that he thinks the first two arcs (volume 1, volume 2+3) would work better as movies than TV shows.

Also yeah this arc is where the main villain is introduced, the Moriarty to Waver's Holmes.

Waver is evil????

Jumping straight into vol 1 would confuse anime onlys even more since those types most likely have only followed mainly fate anime and/or fgo

>In choosing Rail Zeppelin, Sanda kind of went through process of elimination. Most mystery novels are theatrical. In Detachment Castle Adra, the curtain truly rises when they get to the castle. An incident occurs and the tension rises. From that Gray and El-Melloi II investigate and there's another incident. Finally there's a climax. When writing the script a TV anime, 6 eps couldn't come out of that.

>This is also different from an action light novel. When Sanda writes one of those, There's a battle by page 50, another at 120, and the best battle on 180. The volume ends on 240. Making an anime with that is easier because you get a mini climax each episode. Adra and Iselma are more theatrical stories.

>Rail Zeppelin has all the actions but still you need previous knowledge like Gray's abilities, El-Melloi II's relationship with Reines and aspects of the classroom.

I mean, honestly it seems like both Nobu and Sanda like FGO. Just look at their conversations and tweets on twitter. Of course shilling is a thing but their conversation is pretty much genuine.

retard

Stop posting, Moriarty

waver is retard???

based moriarty

The Prisma version

Attached: 1552759015553.png (468x1203, 1.08M)

I don't buy that Sanda would ever consider FGO a worthy successor to Mahoyo or Fate/stay night, he seems like he understands the appeal of the universe too well to be that retarded.
I can see him enjoying it as a shitty phone game with some neat lore mixed in, which is the only way to enjoy that cancer (and the only thing FGO should've ever been).

Doesn't she mostly just use her HA clothes in Prisma?

But agreed the few times she does wear something different. Rin's Prisma outfits are also god tier.

Yeah, the "never be able to roll Waver" is actually a curse (joke) by pako and Nobu

Attached: IMG_1857.png (700x700, 387K)

Do these two ever even meet? I thought Reines isn't in this arc once it starts.

>All these cameos
So I guess revived zombie Fastwheels is next?

No, Touko is next.

They are friends, though Reines usually bullies Olga as usual.

Pink's going to be found 100 feet under the ground, isn't she?

w-why...?

Grave for (chuunis)

She honestly might be. She isnt in this arc but neither is Luvia and Luvia still got a cameo.

I kind of want them to move to overarching plot now though, the entire first half being episodic doesn't sound like a good idea.

LNfags fill me in, is it true that Caules uses lightning magic in this timeline even though he never met Fran?

She has a chance, but honestly i would like to see a cameo of Zepia more (like they could make a small talk about other branches of MA, something like that)

Attached: image.png (619x699, 828K)

Yeah, just wait for when Rail Zeppelin adaption starts and they will elaborate more on that.

Attached: IMG_7483.jpg (675x900, 133K)

There's gonna be at least 2 more original episodes, maybe 3.
I can see Touko being a nice introduction to the Rail Zeppelin cause she actually dealt with it when she was young and travelling with Beo, according to Mahoyo.

I'd love this more than anything, the fact that he's a character might be my favorite thing about Case Files as a whole.
However, it's doubtful cause Waver only actually meets him in the 4th case.

Attached: 1552204531754.png (887x819, 736K)

Please stop watching this anime.

You think he faps to doujins of Masked Fran?

If his sister quit being a mage in this timeline does that mean her legs work? Since her magic circuits were what was causing the problem? I can't imagine she'd have gotten far running away from home in a wheelchair.

Attached: IMG_8447.jpg (1046x1771, 958K)

Just roll downhill

Is Gray for you or does she want the velvet dick?

Gray loves Waver, but she isn't aware of her feelings

What kinda underwear she wears

What's this chick's deal? Does she have a Mystic Eye under there?

Yeah, that's why she'll be relevant in this case.

Wants the Waver dick, even if he can only bring it up for Iskandar.

I mean, anime only here, I can just assume that Waver did something cool at a castle and Luvia was impressed. It's not like every show explains every detail about character's pasts, even if they start from the beginning of what they're adapting.

Anime is ultimately an advertisement. If it's a solid standalone product that also makes you want to consume the source material, in this case to learn what waver did to win her over, it's successful.

They chose to adapt a story about a magic train instead of this?

Shit, man.
I really can't believe Shirou was in the Archery club because I was only told it. I never SAW him draw a bow.

I mean, for me every anime original plot is a straight plus because extra content, even if each individual one is subpar compared to the main stuff, but it does kind of paint the story with a bad image as an introduction to the mainstream audience.

Should have gone with a full blown Adra Castle movie as the real introduction, but oh well.

A Mystic Eye Collection Train that was first hinted at in Mahoyo. It also introduces the main antagonist of the series.
Seems pretty neat.

Adra Castle, Iselma Twin Towers and Rail Zeppelin are all stand-alone stories but the Contract of Atlas isn't. This case also directly connects to Rail Zeppelin so they could make an anime adaption of it later.

A movie is considerably more expensive to make than a TV show. At least, a theatrical one. They could go avant garde like Monogatari or something and make a movie with a TV budget which they upload online... But that's a risky move that will only appeal to a niche audience. Just doing a 13 episode show that airs and get advertised on TV is the safest way to appeal to both LN readers and get a new audience interested.

How many novels are they actually adapting? 1?

2, volumes 4 and 5. It's one case though.

Supposedly 2, volumes 4 and 5.

Attached: IMG_5383.jpg (814x652, 118K)

Luvia out on a walk with her dog i see

Is Caules in this timeline also participated in HGW?

>After the Case Files ends Luvia is doomed to turn into a retard.
How horrifying.

Pay attention to the show, you dumb ESL

No. Darnic got smoked in the Third War in the Zero/SN timeline, so the Yggdmillennia family never rose into power. Smaller families like Forvedge and Musik remained independent instead of being absorbed.

In this timeline, Caules's sister ran away from home and gave up being the family heir, for probably similar reasons to what happened in Apocrypha. Caules was then put into that position, survived several assassination attempts from his family, and then got picked up by Waver and joined the class with the other rejects.

>ran away from home

Yes, probably with her own legs too, since she's not a cripple like in Apoc timelines.

How do they fuck up something so simple? Why is one couch like 6 inches taller?

How come Saber dresses more modestly than her Lancer counterparts? Why is Lancer Alter a slut?

Don't 2 volumes of LN usually take like 12 episodes for an anime adaptation? How many episodes are we getting?

Attached: 1559020704875.jpg (1920x1080, 174K)

How much you wanna bet they used a Chipotle as the reference?

Why are none of my images uploading?

Attached: 1539115015794.jpg (1920x1080, 323K)

I was initially surprised that the Mage's Association didn't assassinate Edison, Bell, and the other Inventor Kings of the late 19th Century. Then I read up on the subject, and I can understand why they wouldn't have bothered. All these peasants and wannabe tinkerers throwing everything at the wall to see what worked. Edison in particular would have rung no alarm bells since most of what he did was repurpose, improve, and mass produce devices that all ready existed but were never capitalised upon because their creators waved them off as simple novelties. Even the light bulb post-perfection did not take the world by storm and its replacement of gaslight was a slow burn. Those daft wizards probably thought the world could change so sluggishly and abruptly at the same time.

Attached: Edison on being Special.jpg (2048x1157, 607K)

Bc FSN was made with the designs being iconic and beautiful in mind, while FGO was made with the design just being as horny and harish as possible in mind. Somehow. Despite FSN being literal porn and FGO being a globally popular game.

That is one shady looking circuit breaker.

I love how subtly evil Flat is. Boy Manaka is cute!

Lancer got to grow up and be a woman, not wait for another chance at life for a sword autist to make her feel that way.

I heard that SF's fifth volume has come out, what happened in it? (other than it being revealed that True Berserker is Humbaba, not Edison)

That poor fellow in the friendzone, I want to bring him to my Chaldea so he and Gray can work things out

>A Mystic Code that doesn't even turn you into a Golden Werewolf

lol some bum from the woods could probably beat that mage brats ass

>Why is Lancer Alter a slut?

Master of the Wild Hunt. As in, that ghastly brigade that destroys, pillages, and parties their way through Europe during certain times of year. So y'know. Live loose.

Maybe not evil, but he's definitely on some level that nobody comprehends. Some post-Notes level of foresight.

Doesn anyone have a webm of Luvia's little pose hope? I need it.

That's honestly some pretty good fucking English. Considering how terrible written English usually is in anime, I'm actually rather impressed.

Attached: Bill.png (1439x929, 1.71M)

Do we know that for sure? It was some genetic problem with her magic circuits that crippled her, I don't see why the timeline split in the Third War would affect her circuits.

"I hope this cake won't be poisoned. Or filled with peyote."

Gilgamesh dies. Which I think opens a lot of potential for Enkidu to grow as his own charavter instead of Gil's sidekick.

It's amazing how much a little prick can change things.

Attached: Angra Mainyu Costumes.jpg (2100x2554, 1.74M)

I want a cake filled with peyote...
By cake I mean an older unmarried woman.

Svin literally gets a restraining order against him later.

>Gil dies
HOLY SHIT.
Also, has Flat met up with Ayaka and Sigma yet?

Even so, I want her to have a clue at least
If it doesn’t work out, then we’ll go kill hands for a while, I’m sure Lancelot would appreciate the break

Holy shit Gray is so cute.

Motherfucker I literally fell into this spoiler by accident, Jesus Christ.

Pretty interesting if true though, I'll just consider it bullshit until I read it off the translation myself, so it can have some impact still.

Reminder that Clock Tower and by extension Mage's Association a fucking shit

Attached: 1563256919172.png (2550x1600, 740K)

Then what was all that early bit about seething over tesla? Just red herring?

>spends the entire series trying to be her own person
>series ends with her becoming more like Artoria than ever thanks to FSN

Ouch.

>Gilgamesh dies.
YES! YES!

FUCK YOU, GIL FAGS

Luvia's always been a retard, user.

>Individual fundamentals
Sounds like the most unnecessary shit ever, and this is in an organization that has m*dern magecraft as a faculty.

Pretty sure it was some serious backpedalling because FGO bullying Narita.

I'm not surprised if this is true. How was he supposed to fight without his Gate? Ineffectual caveman wrestling?

Attached: Fate Strange Fake Ishtar with Gil's Key.jpg (1023x1454, 621K)

as is the fate of all stupid fucking cancerous saber faces

He might have reworked it (though considering what's possessing Filia, Humbaba actually makes more sense).

What happens to his loli?

Attached: L45wutV.jpg (467x690, 95K)

You mean I can get TWO Seibahs!?

They've been getting phased out in recent years. Now it's all about "exotic" Extra Classes like Avengers, Rulers, and Foreigners.

Attached: Foreigner Card.png (320x547, 461K)

Theres a time paradox here. How can saber's soul possess Gray given that she's in the world via the 4th and 5th wars?

Seiba and Greiba

>Foreigners.
The fuck are these supposed to be?

Akira Ishida said that the 2nd ascension is the "canon" and the 3rd titty forms are more of just a fanservice thing

Servants manifested outside Earth's grail.
Cthulhu and such taking a stab at the gacha

Better question would be do they meet AT ALL in any of the UBW good ends where Rin is Saber's Master while she's at Clock Tower

Outer/Elder God proxies. Folks that brushed against the Eldritch and survived forever changed.

Attached: Abigail of Salem.png (768x768, 215K)

Oh, what the fuck? Are they anthropomorphizing Types now? Jesus Christ, Type Moon is dead.

Nigga, Lancer Alter is still showing off her thighs.

What the actual fuck

He's an autistic savant who's amazing at magic. Problem is that he's an autistic savant, so his explanations are just garbage and useless to everyone else

It's been dead for a few years now.

Attached: 1539643163792.jpg (1402x5006, 1.19M)

>Are they anthropomorphizing Types now?

You stupid bastard.

Attached: Archetype.png (354x437, 46K)

Humbaba is the one who kills him, and apparently he felt true fear when he realized Berserker was Humbaba.

I heard Enkidu's wolf master comforts her

It's not just that, though. They're those who were exposed to the power of foreign gods but managed to hold onto their sanity and harness that power. They're the ones who can look directly at the likes of Yog-Sothoth and still retain their will.

So just like every attempt to explain magecraft and magic?

>Are they anthropomorphizing Types now
You mean Arcueid?

Thats not real you idiot

But also Types have been anthropmorphized since they were introduced. What is V/V

Manaka, but a dude and he hasn't gone completely evil yet. Will Waver save him? Will he kill him? What will become of this oddball psychopath?

That's fanart. The foreign gods aren't Ultimate Ones. Though Type-Mercury might still make an appearance.

Nasuverse magic is super easy

Wonder how much money he has spent on FGO.

what's with the hardon against it?

Someone like Reine doesnt have friends. They have tools, toys and servants.

Attached: mpv-shot0006.jpg (1920x1080, 278K)

Maybe it's gonna be those amalgamation of various entities thing like hessian lobo.

Why are you stalking her user?

Apparently you just pretend you're Jeff Goldblum and make a couple allusions to scripture and astrology.
youtu.be/3c-irSUdij4

Attached: 1532986587323.jpg (1280x800, 527K)

Saber was specifically an exception to that. She wasn't in the Throne of Heroes but rather the grail was transporting her flesh-and-blood body through time to fight in Holy Grail Wars until she was able to claim the Grail. That's why she wasn't capable of switching to a spiritual body like other Servants, because she hadn't died and hadn't been summoned by through the Throne of Heroes. So the Saber in F/SN and F/Z was the original, real Artoria who hadn't died yet.

People spent thousands, didn't get their waifu and now shit on the game and anything related to it. I can't blame them, I'd do the same thing but my waifu came to me in just a few tickets.

Yup, magic and magecraft is bullshit. Nasu just introduces bullshit rules that don't make sense just to break them.

So I sent them to the grave, hahah.

Attached: mpv-shot0015.jpg (1920x1080, 167K)

Wow gray is such a bitch.

You are correct, but those are bad examples, ironically:
LoGH was a novel series and the adaption was a series of OVAs.
Crest of the Stars was also a novel series, and the adaption comes out to less than 50 episodes.

Because mobage is a shit medium for story telling.

mechanically it's D&D rule for psionics.
Mana is the internal power source while prana exists in the air.
Magic done by mages in the settings are mostly small reality and probability manipulation, but it can't truly do bullshit things without ridiculous level of affinity and knowledge on said bullshit.
Incantations are there mostly as spell focuses rather than being a specific code for vancian magic system.

That's basically the gist of it.

She hadn't died yet from her perspective but from the modern day perspective she died 1500 years ago. Time travel shit, once she goes back at the end of SN she dies and then time moves forward.

I think Waver might be the one who does it but I'm not positive.

that's not an explanation for how magic actually works though

Wasn't her soul transported to Avalon?

Ye.

I don't know how exactly the cult planned to grab her soul and stuff it in Gray but that was the plan.

They probably don't know that she's not a Heroic Spirit. I'm sure it wouldn't have worked either way.

I don't think the cult knew exactly what had happened to Artoria and probably didn't have the omniscient understand we do of Avalon and everything else. Whatever they were planning wasn't going to work and probably would have fucked up Grey pretty hard.

Which wiki article do I need to read first to follow this series? I dont play FGO and only watch UBW plus Zero.

>would have fucked up Grey pretty hard.
I want to fuck Grey pretty hard.

It might have had something to do with Add since Sir Kay is summoned from inside him as a sort-of-but-not-really Servant ghost thing.

I don't know the details I can't read moon.

Read the VN newshit

That's plenty, FGO references in Case Files are just irrelevant cameos.

author wanted to make him edison but then nasu cucked him by making edison a mecha furry in FGO.

Why did Nasu do that again? Like, just fucking why?

He hates America

In Apoc she transferred her circuits to Caules remember?

After that she can walk, albeit now as a regular human.

I doubt this is the case since servants get summoned in alternate classes and look different all the time.

Someone drew lion Edison as a joke. Nasu saw that and was all "Haha this is great, let's use it." And the rest is history.

And in Nasu's defense, he never said that Narita couldn't use his own Edison. It's just that Narita's supremely anal about this shit.

Why would that matter when you can have the same heroic spirit manifest differently anyway? E.g vlad.
I feel like you're just making shit up.

Doesn't Nasu hate the US or something?
Actually, why is it that Japanese writers tend to hate the US?

Narita, like a lot of die-hard fans, is a sucker for keeping to canon then. Poor bastard doesn't understand Nasu is as fickle as Araki.

That's enough for you to understand Case Files. There are some stuff about FGO like the Celestial Bodies faculty, the Animsuphere and the whole timeline/Quantum Time-Lock/Human Order Foundation lore but i'm sure they will explain it on the anime so don't worry

but it's too long
I just need some background informations to be able to follow the show

Really?

>>Actually, why is it that Japanese writers tend to hate the US?
Really?

Attached: 1535212233875.jpg (592x887, 110K)

How would that stop Berserker Edison from being a thing? Lion Spider Wild, Wild West Tank Edison would have been amazing. His Caster self even tries to transform into a Berserker in FGO.

Attached: Edison vs North Dakota.png (1280x720, 1002K)

Her girlfriend.

I do remember Narita complaining on twitter when GO revealed stuff about Enkidu before he got to reveal it in Strange Fake.

any remotely intelligent jap will realize that their entire nation has been and will be our bitch for the foreseeable future
some of them embrace it, some of them hate it, its that simple

It wouldn't have stopped it, the same servants in different classes look different all the time. That's why I don't buy that Narita was backpeddling, he'd have no reason not to use Edison if that really was the plan.

He was fine using Ishtar in FSF even though GO also has her.

Narita's dumb then. There are already branching timelines and multiple versions of the same Heroic Spirit in the throne. Even if his Edison isn't the same as Grand Order's Edison, it wouldn't change anything. The fact that Fate/strange fake is a separate timeline is irrelevant.

To begin with, the Edison of F/GO isn't the original Edison. His body and personality were warped by the Presidential Mystic Code prepared by all the Presidents of the United States. He's not the same person as he was in life. Thus, there's no reason for Narita to be affected by that. Even if the narrative states that Edison absolutely does not have what it takes to be a worthwhile Heroic Spirit on his own (the fact of the matter is, if Edison were summoned without that Mystic Code, he'd be terribly weak and useless), it still wouldn't matter. Nothing states that an Edison like the one Narita envisioned can't exist in the Throne. But for some reason, Narita just couldn't accept that.

I wonder if Narita even understands how Nasu's universe works at all. If he did, he wouldn't be so bothered by all these minor things.

Do you have more shots of Edison and Geronimo bitching about America's boonies? Best part of that event.

You're taking an user on Yea Forums's word that Narita couldnt accept it at face value. Dont do that.

That's why Narita can't accept it. It's too fickle, contrived, cheap, and worthless. With little consistence, there's little reason to actually enjoy it for its good properties. For all the Nasuverse's good worldbuilding, there's a fuck ton of holes in it.

Still, it's a fact that he's strangely stuck on such irrelevant matters. He keeps changing his vision as if there's any reason for it.

>hr terminates you for mining bitcoin using office computers
Aint that some shit.

Ok, readpill me on Zelretch, Yea Forums
1. Several sources have stated that whatever timeline Zelretch observes would instantly collapse to be the actual timeline (Nasu interview, and that Strange Fake scene when he chooses Ayaka to be the master to reach the conclusion he wants). Does this mean only timelines and routes that Zelretch has canonically appeared in can be considered the "main" timeline? Iirc, so far he's appeared in Tsukihime, FSN HF route, FSF, and mentioned in Illya.
2. On that note, is there only one version of him across all time and space, or does each parallel universe has one Zelretch? If it's the former then it suggests that universe is a somewhat "main" timeline, but if it's the latter then we literally have billions of Zelretch across the multiverse, each having his own Second magic.

Not him, but I had heard before from somewhere else (I think the FGO wiki) that Narita threw a shitfit about Edison.

Honestly, the idea of a "main" or "true" timeline is retarded in any fiction that deals with multiverses.

Good old 2003 Windows.

>"To see, that is the very first magecraft in human history."

>Mystic Eyes Collection Train. A legend that even now keeps running in the forest of Europe.
>Due to being dragged into by a certain invitation letter, it has been decided that Lord El-Melloi II would participate in an auction of mystic eyes together with Olga Marie and others from the Astronomy Department's (Animusphere) family. However, El-Melloi II's objective lies not in the auction. But to recover his indispensable--- stolen pride.
>Those who desire mystic eyes, and those who shun mystic eyes.
>What is the mystic eyes of "Rainbow" rank, regarded as a top secret?
>As many eyes watch intently, the curtains of the third case rises.

So did Waver knock Caules out to use his computer or did Caules help him and then fall asleep sitting up for some reason?

Not entirely. The main timeline can be considered the one that lasts the longest and allows for the most timeline offshoots.

I'm gonna say waver called a couple of people for assistance and Caules is one of them. Whats his specialty? Information gathering mage thing?

>Whats his specialty?
using google

Apparently he and Flat are the only people in the Norwich dorms with computers, according to those kids who were looking up porn on his computerl

Something like how Roa and Ciel are linked I guess?

>The main timeline can be considered the one that lasts the longest and allows for the most timeline offshoots
But if we go with this definition and the current timeline lore then every timeline in the Primary Branch/Trunk is the main timeline right ?

Zelretch isn't just mentioned in Prillya, he is (barely) seen and has a few brief convos with rin and luvia iirc

Waver hates Flat so much that even though he's British he insists on calling his home an apartment instead of a flat just so he doesn't get reminded of Flat.

With the knot?

>hey bro, can put that 4 hour porn to the other monitor? I was jacking off to it earlier, just click "i want to continue watching" pop up
Fucking mages.

He fell asleep from pulling an allnighter getting that info.
But the idea of a multiverse means that every universe is as important as the other ones.

There are multiple timelines, but not every possibility is a solidified timeline. There are actually a finite number of branches. It's said that for every choice you make, there's an alternate timeline where you made the opposing choice, but that's not the way it works here. For instance, there are things that Emiya Shirou won't ever do, so there's no such timeline based on a "what if" scenario in which he chooses that impossible route.

A good example of this is Heroic Spirit Emiya (Assassin), from a version of events in which Kiritsugu took a different path in life and became a Counter Guardian. However, he's not from an actual, existing timeline. There is no true timeline in which Kiritsugu becomes a Counter Guardian. He is purely a "what-if". However, with the Human Order in unprecedented jeopardy, the world made an exception, pulling out all the stops to assist Humanity's Last Master. Thus, even a "what-if" like Kiritsugu can become a Servant. But that's only for the Grand Orders. During this period in which the Human Order is in its greatest crisis, it is possible to summon this Servant who doesn't exist in any timeline and isn't recorded into the Throne of Heroes. Once the Grand Orders are up, that "what-if" will vanish and Kiritsugu will never be summoned again. But that could change if Zelretch witnesses that "what-if" possibility. The moment Zelretch observes it, it becomes reality, a genuine timeline.

His title is Solo, so it looks like there is only one.

His magecraft in Apocrypha was talking to ghosts and seeing dead people's memories and stuff like that, which he used to hunt for Jack the Ripper by examining her victims.

Apparently here ihe uses bioelectricity magic though.

The case with Fate/stay night is straightforward. Emiya Shirou has three possibilities, three routes he can take. Depending on the route he walks, the possibility will be solidified into a proper timeline. The three possibilities aren't necessarily parallel timelines, but it's also possible that they are. Due to the way parallel worlds in Fate work, it's impossible to tell what's real or what isn't unless you're Zelretch. In this case, it's pretty much entirely up to the reader. If the reader prefers one route to be true above all else, then that route is true. If the reader prefers all three to be parallel timelines, then they're all true. People take Zelretch's appearance at the end of Heaven's Feel to mean that it's one true route, but that possibility only occurs if Shirou walks that path at all. If Shirou doesn't follow that path, then Zelretch wouldn't take notice of it and wouldn't appear. So which came first, the chicken or the egg? Either way, the fact that there are multiple timelines doesn't change.>2. On that note, is there only one version of him across all time and space, or does each parallel universe has one Zelretch? If it's the former then it suggests that universe is a somewhat "main" timeline, but if it's the latter then we literally have billions of Zelretch across the multiverse, each having his own Second magic.

Yes.
>but the idea of a multiverse means that every universe is as important as the other ones.

Even ones that end tragically short and contribute nothing that can be taken for other timelines?

I get that this is probably like it is in order to get things from getting too complicated, but it makes no sense when thinking about it logically, like says.

>Even ones that end tragically short and contribute nothing that can be taken for other timelines?
Yes? Because they still exist?

Speaking of the timeline stuff
>"Possibilities are endless" is a statement humans would speak like it's a blessing. Yet they wouldn't realize that the meaning behind those words lie a trap. No matter how possibility itself can be endless in numbers, the results are actually finite no matter what. And the diversity of choices increase the pressure of selections that will come eventually.
Also pic related is about the Quantum Time-Lock process

Attached: IMG_7437.jpg (1200x1200, 347K)

>it's actual english and it's not even gibberish
>somehow there's a missing space between "ofmagecraft"
Even mages can do typos

You are thinking with the sentimentality of humanity. It does not apply in this matter.

Animeonly here, can someone tell me why Waver's students look up to him so much? I get that he's an excellent teacher, but is it because he's very talented, very knowledgeable or because he can knows how to bond with his students?

Even though he's a shitty mage power wise, he really knows his stuff. It helps that he's actually a *teacher* though, because most professors at the Clock Tower just use their classes as a chance to find guinea pigs for their magic experiments.

The Human Order values progress above all else. What's more, there can't be infinite branches. The planet itself isn't capable of fueling an infinite number of worlds. Worlds in which humanity reaches a dead end are pruned so as to not waste resources.

As stated by his peers in the first episode he knows how to connect and explain information in a way none of the other teachers can. Student feel like he really "gets" them thus making lessons easy, encouraging and enjoyable.

>Yes
If that so then so far Fate/Zero and Fate/Grand Order timeline are confirmed to lie near the center of the Trunk, so normally those timelines won't be cut off unless somebody want to mess with it like Goetia

He is literally the only teacher in the entire Association who genuinely helps his students reach their potential.

Well yes, they can still cause trouble as seen in FGO right now

It's really shitty as a "main entry". It's got a decent plot for gachashit, but it's pretty bad compared to any previous Nasu work and highly inconsistent.
Also accepting a shitty mobage in place of real VNs is just awful.

>You want extra credit? Sure thing let me just test this new spell on you.

IIRC the way that worked was that the world thought ciel = roa and when roa reincarnated into someone else, the world got confused and revived ciel too because roa cant be both alive and dead.

Well, the Strange Fake afterwords does have Narita joking about how Nasu just suddenly changing stuff always ends up causing him and the other spinoff authors to start scrambling around. While it's not really at the level of bitching, it can be read along those lines.

Attached: fsf after.jpg (1057x551, 108K)

Based Waver.

Attached: k_507ea4_60370044 - 02.png (1682x2500, 1.68M)

Fate?Grand order is specifically a special case in whick everything, all timelines, will end unless drastic bullshit is done. Another case of there being rules only so we can take note of the cheating.

Attached: IMG_8759.jpg (800x1444, 407K)

I wonder why Nasu decided that there can't be infinite universes in his series, even though multiverse theory allows for that.

God imagine waking up one day to see your body became an exact copy of Saber's

twitter.com/3373misa/status/1152589290699755520

Attached: IMG_8760.jpg (1040x717, 153K)

Because's a planet's possibilities are governed by the planet itself. The planet's resources can't be spread infinitely, so it has to cull certain possibilities in order to maintain optimal operation. Quantum physics is fine and all, but Nasu's world operates on his own unique system of magic.

It allows for certain "absolutes", whereas an infinite multiverse means that there are actually infinite possibilities. Like how there no universe where Kotomine survives the 5th War.

But this implies that Tsukihime worlds (Tsukihime, Kana no Kyoukai) should have already been pruned already since it's run rampant with Dead Apostles, the antithesis of the Human Order, to the point that the idea of summoning servants seem like a joke.

Literally because he needed it as a plot point for the basic premise in part 2 of his gacha cancer story. That's how shortsighted the dumb mushroom is.

Tsukihime worlds run off a different system entirely. What we're talking about are the Fate worlds, which are governed by the Human Order.

They have been pruned. Just not at a point in time we have witnessed.

In the Fate worlds, the Human Order decides which worlds are pruned. In the Tsukihime worlds, ???? decides things instead.

IIRC Tsukihime worldline has a different foundation from Fate worldine but Nasu has never explained this yet

Quantum Time-Lock was introduced in Extella, no ?

A muktiverse where anything goes isnt as interesting, at least imo. I like that we have rules like "there is no universe where Kirei Kotomine lives past 2004" or "there is no universe where King Arthur's kingdom survives".

>load
Nice.

They haven't been pruned as far as we know. Human Order has no power over those worlds. Something else governs the worlds of Tsukihime. We don't know what it is yet, though.

It was introduced in Extella as a set-up for FGO 2 to get people used to the idea a couple years ahead of time.

Hot.

Well, a multiverse where anything goes sounds more interesting to me, though maybe because I like having infinite things to discover and hate arbitrary limitations.

"Possibilities are endless yet the results are finite" idea doesn't sound too bad, at least for me

Stop falling for bullshit speculation. It's more likely that they just dont give a fuck rather than hate.

Alternate human histories that have been made to have "never happened" because their possibilities were extremely narrowed down. These alternate histories are relics that have been removed as "something unnecessary, unneeded fluctuations" for the path that human history has taken so far, and "since they will only lead to a dead end", discarded even from the multiverse theory.

(The Human Order Incineration by the King of Magic was performed by him alone, but the Pruning Phenomenon is conducted by human history itself, pages which are incinerated by the collective will of humanity).

This is what is currently overwritten upon the Earth, replacing human history.

Lostbelts are worlds based on an "What if" as their premise, where the supposition is what if they had "survived" until the year 2018.

The vast land ruled by eternal permafrost.
The millenial empire ruled by an emperor granted the immortality he desired.
The stage of lotuses where genesis and destruction have cycled many times.
And a place where gods exist, in Scandinavia, and in an great oceanic metropolis.

The Lostbelts continue to spread, little by little. If left as is, their history will become the proper history by replacement.

Holy shit! Thats super cute!

Ah, thanks, I've always assumed that since they're both Nasuverse, they would follow more or less the same overall rule. So it's possible for Tsukihime world to follow an entirely different principle asides from the Human Order then.
That said, FSF is truly the exception amongst exceptions if it can have both servants and dead apostles. We also have the Root directly making an appearance in KnK as well, so the conversation about the "main" timeline got even muddier since there's no indication that there's even a Zelretch in KnK.

I'd masturbate all day at least 3 times a week. So only slightly more than usual.

So fucking dumb I hate neo-TM why did things turn out like this

DAs can exist with Servants. DAAs cannot.

How different was the prototype story?

>WAAAAAHHHH
Fuck off retard.

That logic is pretty dumb, because DAAs are just powerful DAs.

Am I lying?
Everything I said is true I don't care if you call it whining fuck Nasu fuck FGO fuck current TM

DAAs are fallen gods compared to DAs, which are elevated humans, aren't they?

Not necessarily the case. We have a bunch of non-standard DAAs
>Primate Murder, a beast of Gaia
>Zelretch, made DAA by Crimson Moon himself
>Fucking ORT
>The dark six, which by this point absolutely no one (probably not even Nasu) knows anything about

Off-topic, but I wonder if Omar Khayyam will ever appear in Fate, considering that he was said to be friends with the founder of the assassins.

Dead Apostles exist in both worlds, but the organization known as the Twenty Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors can only exist in the Tsukihime worlds. Dead Apostles exist in the Fate world, but they're overall weaker. Many key members of the Twenty Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors don't exist in the Fate worlds.

1. Primate Murder: In the Fate worlds, the Beast of Gaia Primate Murder is known as Beast IV, Cath Palug. After a certain magus took him in, he started thinking fondly of humanity and was basically rendered harmless.
3. Crimson Moon: Most of his influences don't seem to exist in the Fate worlds. We know he must surely exist in some capacity as the Ultimate Ones exist, but his presence seems light.
4. Zelretch: Doesn't seem to have changed much. Though we never knew much about him to begin with.
5. O.R.T.: Unknown. It appears that he'll appear in a future Lostbelt.
9. Altrouge: Her presence hasn't been felt at all. May not exist.
10. Nrvnqsr Chaos: Apparently existed at some point.
11. Night of Wallachia: Zepia never became the TATARI in the Fate worlds. He still became a vampire, though.
14. Van-Fem: Runs a casa.
EX: Roa: Never had a "certain encounter", so while he still became a vampire, he wasn't all that powerful and was ultimately killed off by the King of the Cavern.

Can we talk about how amazing the OP is?

Is the full version available?

Those who are parts of the 27 DAAs still exist as individual in Fate World and they are called Superior Dead Apostle instead. Gransurge Blackmore died long ago, Zepia doesn't become TATARI, Cath Palug is Fou,...

No.
We will talk about how amazing ED is.

Attached: cute gray.webm (1280x720, 545K)

This might be the full version already.

IIRC at the start the 27 DAAs were a list prepared by the church of powerful DAAs that they considered a threat to humantiy then the 27 got wind of the list and thought they should turn it into an elitist club or something, and started adding people to the list on their own.

Not yet, the Original Soundtrack will be released in September

Attached: IMG_7044.jpg (880x845, 233K)

What the fuck do you want him to explain, the way magic quantum particles interact with each other or something like that?

IIRC Nero Chaos was implied to have been present in a grail war in one of the fate spinoffs but nothing much was said about it.

Nah, how all of that energy actually makes up magic or casts spells. Go ahead, explain.

>O.R.T.: Unknown. It appears that he'll appear in a future Lostbelt.
I swear to god, if they somehow make it so that FGO MC beats fucking ORT, then there is literally no dignity left at Type-Moon.

Attached: IMG_3732.jpg (832x800, 93K)

Can't have what they never had user

They will bullshit it as some weakened version of ORT. You already beat some bullshit enemies in FGO and fate/extra has you beat a weakened version of Arcueid.

If ORT indeed appears in LB7 then obviously he will be defeated by Guda with the help from other characters. Daybit's servant is literally a Grand after all.

Nah, the 27 DAAs are decided based on one Ancestor that can prophesize when a fellow Ancestor will die and alert them so that they can prepare a successor. So the grouping is definitely based on some kind of hidden system rather than the decision of the church.

You're hyping it up too much. It's true that humanity can't beat in with its current level of technology, but Ultimate Ones aren't unbeatable. Quite a few of them were taken out by humanity and A.Rays. And that's without Heroic Spirits (although A.Ray is homophonous with Heroic Spirit).

IIRC in one of the tsukihime side material, they offered some DA the spot of a DAA even though he wasnt powerful enough to be a real DAA and then he got assassinated by Tohno Shiki.

I also remember that the ranking was based on the threat to humanity as decided by the church, or something along those lines which is why zelretch is ranked pretty low.

Gray should be more fashionable!

Attached: 2a0b514620666eff8c54fc6894722db4.jpg (1110x1682, 152K)

Please, anything but this. ORT has been this mysterious fucking menace after all these years and if it just got bullshit away by a shoehorned protagonist then Type-Moon is done for.
>ORT which absolutely destroyed the previous 5th DAA
>ORT which Zelretch said that's 100 years too early for humanity to face
>ORT which has no Gaia's concept of death
>ORT which has a fucking OP reality marble that turns nearby environment into Mercury

>ORT which absolutely destroyed the previous 5th DAA
DAAs drop like flies all the time.

>ORT which Zelretch said that's 100 years too early for humanity to face
The ones that'll be fighting it are Servants. Probably top-ranked ones at that.

>ORT which has no Gaia's concept of death
Physical destruction is still possible.

I mean, they defeated Tiamat.

>ORT which has no Gaia's concept of death
>what is Black Barrel
Also btw Sion is going to upgrade the Bunker Bolt (Mashu's shield) with her Barrel Replica. And they can bullshit another situation like King Hassan's Grand Saint Graph again.

ORT wasn't even mentioned in FGO, afaik. Are people jumping to conclusions just because of Lostbelt location?

It’ll be defeated by Cthulhu

Also, that whole "Gaia's concept of death" thing is really nostalgic. I'm surprised people are still passing it around.

Didn't the concept of death get mentioned again in Babylonia ?

they defeated a tiamat that was holding back with the help of the grand assassin
fgo mc's crowning achievement in that fight was surviving long enough to be a catalyst for everything to happen

Attached: __reines_el_melloi_archisorte_lord_el_melloi_ii_case_files_and_etc_drawn_by_zamudelin__2251eb968d9d2 (1172x1600, 1.48M)

Concept of death is a thing. "Gaia's concept of death" isn't. The reason Ultimate Ones don't have deaths is because they're perfect. It's the same reason Arcueid doesn't normally have a concept of death at night.

The Master's job is coordinating Servants. If a team of Gilgamesh, King Hassan, Merlin, King Arthur, Karna, Ozymandias and Heracles were the ones to beat O.R.T., for instance, it'd be hard to complain.

The point is that Tiamat had many of the same characteristics that ORT has, yet they still managed to bullshit their way into defeating her

Gray is cute! I like how she's always smiling next to her shishou! Cute!

Attached: ycco0704_74502422 - 17.png (835x1176, 1.01M)

At first it is just a joke due to LB7's location but then Barrel Replica is now a thing in FGO, which will probably lead to some mention/references of the original Black Barrel (just like Logos React, Logos React Replica aka Add and Logos React Generic in GudaGuda) and Daybit is a master of a Grand Servant, so something dangerous to humanity should be happening in this Lostbelt. Of course it is just a wild speculation anyway.

Well, back when O.R.T. was first introduced in Complete Material, shit like Grand Servants and Beasts weren't a thing.

Is the English letter here the same case as the "apology" letter in Cross Ange?

king hassan coming down from the heavens to tell tiamat her immortality license has been revoked is bullshit yes, but they can't do it again with O.R.T
it'll probably be some other nonsense like how a grand berserker can pummel things out of existence, thereby bypassing the concept of death

You don't need to kill O.R.T. Just beat it until its body breaks.

You would need something on the level of EA / Slash Emperor, or True Magic (6 of them, and the users still need to self-sacrifice). Which might or might not be easier than applying a concept of death on it.

Considering they have Sion's assistance, they could always just nab the Black Barrel from the Atlas Institute.

But they do have Ea. Gilgamesh is an available Servant.

introducing some alternative timeline version of sion as a servant with a tsukihime collab and having her use black barrel along with a heroic sacrifice is more likely as that'll be better for extracting gachabucks

Sion's already a character though? Sion Eltnam Sokaris, the last surviving Alchemist of the Atlas Institute.

Attached: Sion_FGO.png (860x720, 844K)

Can't we just raid Atlas and shoot it with the Black Barrel? Never mind that VV kinda survived the Black Barrel.

Except that Type Venus was shot with the Black Barrel and she still chilled around afterwards playing guitar in Godo's apartment and releasing angel monsters every now and again.

>Sion is a character in FGO
And so Guda cucks another Type-Moon MC.

I CLAPPED

dude you're not thinking in terms of gachabucks
writing in tsukihime sion into this mess is more or less guaranteed because SSR Sion with Black Barrel Replica NP is a money maker

Sion would be either Event SR or Welfare. The only SSR would be Arcueid. Collab events only have one SSR, if even that. One SSR, up to two SRs and a Welfare Servant if applicable.

make her the next anniversary's SSR
problem solved

The Black Barrel is in the Church (as mentioned in Melty Blood) isn't it ? The one Sion created is the Barrel Replica and in FGO, she said she would use it to upgrade Bunker Bolt for Mashu.

Her servant is also very cute btw.

Eh, if they keep stalling on FSF/Prototype, maybe it'll get an anime first.

sharingarm TM edition when

She talks about shota (especially Nobukatsu) a lot in Chaldea Radio but i'm too lazy to find more, and those videos are quite long too
youtube.com/watch?v=e_Fyq1DP5cc

Mystic Eyes aren't super-uncommon. Most decent magi will at least have the Mystic Eyes of Binding, which immobilize the target. The most common type owned by vampires is the Mystic Eyes of Enchantment.

Mystic Eyes are categorized by the Noble Colors system. Gold denotes power, so if someone's Mystic Eyes glow gold, you know they're top-class. The rarest Mystic Eyes which encroach on the realm of the gods have more outlandish colors. Rider's Mystic Eyes of Petrification are categorized as Jewel. The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are categorized as Rainbow and are top-class, the rarest of the rare.

Only the Shiki's have DP eyes, right?

SF anime soon!

Attached: 1551152043718.jpg (1280x720, 172K)

Yeah. The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are so insanely rare that they're considered to be a myth by most. Even Arcueid didn't know they actually existed. They're a special hybrid power that combine the traits of both Mystic Eyes and Pure Eyes, and they're even higher ranked than Rider's Mystic Eyes of Petrification. Only those with a connection to the Root can have these eyes, and out of all the known people who have such a connection, only two are known.

The reason that only one user of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception can exist in the world, and the first reason Nasu said that Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime can't take place in the same world, is that it's so insanely improbable for there to be two people living simultaneously on the planet with those eyes.

What the hell is up with Svin's infatuation with Gray?

>Three months full of lovesickness have already passed.
>However, Svin does not know if he truly fell in love.
>The bestial magecraft he knows is something imparted on a global scale but there is an exceedingly few amount of users. In many cases, magecraft that allows a person to take on the nature of an animal, inevitability causes the person to lose their humanity. For that reason sustaining a lineage is difficult.
>The Glascheit family is one of the few exceptions, but they never overcame that defect. Even if the user goes mad, the magic crest has already been bequeathed. Due to his coincidental compatibility, Svin forcibly inherited magecraft through that stabilized mystery. As a glorious example of success, he was sent to the clock tower. Without connections to another faction, he knocked on the door of the El-Melloi classroom.
>He met Lord El-Melloi II who saw his talent. The Lord successfully resurrected some lost bestial magecraft in Svin... but he could not fill Svin's feelings of alienation.
>Even within the clock tower, Svin felt that compared to other people he was a different creature.
>Not a magus, not a human, not even a beast.
>Svin always felt that he was a gutter that could never be blocked.
>But when he smelled Gray, for the first time, he felt full.
>(...Perhaps)
>Perhaps because she was also someone who didn't fit in.
>Not fitting in with the living. Lacking the courage to join the dead. Continually startled by wraiths.
>Maybe, I wanted to be with her so we could together. Therefore, even if this feeling might not be love, it's something that can't be ignored.

This and due to his magecraft, Svin also acts like a furry when he is near Gray which makes she thinks that he hates her.

Based Waver, putting a restraining order on this beast trying to defile his saber onahole

>Reines fucking Waver while having Gray watch as she is getting railed by Svin
Someone better make a doujin of this, I'd fund it

So Olga shows up at some point in this, right? I'm not sure if I'm ready for that.

I'd LARP as a dandy steam powered robot too.

FGO takes place in its own world line. It will be daijoubu

people with exceptional powers gather in the clocktower so its not surprising you see people with ME gather there

I know. That doesn't help. It makes it worse, in fact.

>why is it that Japanese tend to hate the US?
Are you really asking this?

I can think of a couple of reasons.

You do realize LOGH's adaptation was released over like 9 years

It's the FFXIV of the nasuverse, everyone has something different to nitpick about it despite it being a fundamentally sound experience

Oh I know someone who would die from hearing that comparison.

can someone explain to me wtf happened in episode 3? never watched fate before so don't know shit about lore.

Have yo read the first 2 translated LNs or the Manga? the cases don't lend themselves well to an anime series format. Volume 1 would be better as a KnK style OVA or movie.

shut the fuck up Moriarty

Attached: 75190925_p16.jpg (2757x4778, 2.43M)

What did you need explaining? A zoology dept prof got offed so there's a power struggle, someone's been trying to accelerate their magecraft to get a slice of the pie but Waver produced enough evidence to convince the departments that he was violating the masquerade.

>never watched fate before so don't know shit about lore.
The fuck are you doing?

Attached: 1562437047677.jpg (1280x720, 433K)

As long as Reiness is pegging Waver.

Too bad they are making a fucking stage play out of the first volume. Hopefully they'll make a movie out of it despite that, just like Babylonia.

Not him but this is my first Fate too. I did marathon Zero after the first episode though.

Should've read the VN.

Yes she does

You have a LONG way to go to understand.

>at least 5 more volumes left to go
we can dream

Attached: Dcbn5HgV4AAwsSQ.jpg (600x840, 93K)

You mean Stay/Night?

Yes. It's the best starting point to get into Fate and how you're actually supposed to get into it.

pretty cute for a saberface.

By being literally the only actual teacher there. Everyone else is just a mad scientist looking for guinea pigs.

Kara no Kyoukai's useful too, since it introduces a couple key elements of how Nasu's world works, such as the Counter Force and the Root, and also gives you a slightly better idea of how magi are than Fate/stay night. Since Kara no Kyoukai was Nasu's first published work, absolutely no prior knowledge is necessary.

Tsukihime... is okay, but if you wanna understand the world of TYPE-MOON, it's not really all that useful. It explains about the world of vampires, but just barely. In fact, most of what we know about Arcueid and True Ancestors were revealed in subsequent fanbooks and interviews. Melty Blood arguably gives you a better understanding of the world than Tsukihime does.

Anyway, Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/stay night are probably the best jumping off points. You'll pretty much know whether the franchise is for you or not after you go through at least one chapter/route of each.

explain pic related. also what's really Wavers power level? he looks weak af, he got seriously beaten by a sewer pikachu. and where do they put powerful evil mages? in a regular prison? makes no sense.

Attached: 1539582679058.jpg (912x720, 82K)

>TM before: burn kill maim rape and dismember
>TM now: killing is bad m'kay

Attached: 74741962_p0.png (572x800, 286K)

That was explained earlier in the thread. The clocktowermages that will be participating in the 5th grail war have been chosen.

As for the rest you seriously are stupid. Those were clocktower guards taking the mage awaya and Waver outright says he's not that talented.

Pic related is just Luvia telling Waver that magic association spots for 5th HGW were taken while Waver was busy. Waver wanted to participate originally. Waver's power level is very low, his magic circuits are weak and he has no crest.

How about you just go watch UBW and FZ first. I'll tell you to go to the VN but it's obvious you wouldn't anyway.

thanks user.

Attached: 1538650099564.jpg (1280x720, 174K)

Waver is really weak, but he has tremendous influence thanks to the fact that he's actually a good teacher who helps his students reach their potential. Most of his students love him, or at least have a strong degree of respect for him. If he gathered all the strong talent under his tutelage, he could do some heavy damage. Waver himself will never be more than a third-rate magus, though. Not only does he have no talent and have few circuits of mediocre quality, but he's also a first generation magus so he never inherited anything from any previous generation.

"Evil magi" is relative. As long as you don't break the rules of the Association (revealing thaumaturgy to the public, basically), you're more or less free to do whatever. If you do break the Association's rules, they send a Sealing Designation Enforcer after you, powerful combat-oriented magi who are basically actually geared towards fighting. There are some powerful magi who get into fights, but you can't say that they're really "professional fighters". Sealing Designation Enforcers are trained to kill, and if one comes after you, you're probably a goner. There are also freelancer "magus killers" like Emiya Kiritsugu who are specialized towards taking down magi. Kiritsugu himself was a heretic who used modern technology and muggle tactics in conjunction with knowledge of thaumaturgy to kill his targets.

I mean start of episode
>Waver wants to participate in the HGW
>Oh you mean that [exposition]
end of episode
>Sorry Waver, Clock Tower reps for HGW are filled

Waver is not very good as a mage, he literally sperged out to his class how jealous he is of people with mage talent like Flat. But he's an excellent teacher who can improve how others utilize their own magecraft.

I had a brainfart. I always keep forgetting Caster's Master was a member of the Association. How forgettable can a guy get?

Waver missed out on his chance to get killed by Kirie or lose to an autistic Ginger because Bazzet and Medea's master already to the Association spots.
>what's really Wavers power level?
incredibly weak.

He wasn't even mentioned in the VN except for telling us that caster murdered him.

>random nobody who dies before half of the servants were even summoned
>not even at the hands of an enemy, but his own servant who was just sick of his shit and would rather fade away than put up with him any longer

He had to be something to summo-
>running an inefficient manafarm to pull it off
-yeah he was nothing

I forgot, how did Bazett even get accepted as master by the association?
Being a master seems to be the right of some few magi in very powerful and renown positions, and important persons like a Lord (like El-Melloi) himself would like to fight as one.
So why does some unremarkable enforcer who holds no power in the association get the position?

Attached: Bazett.Fraga.McRemitz.full.2353661.png (1386x1504, 769K)

>unremarkable
>has fragarach
Honestly I think Kirei may have vouched for her. Since he was the defacto Overseer his words carried weight.

She was chosen because she's skilled enough for the job. Though, to be honest, her chances in the Fifth War would have been slim. Team Berserker, Caster and Gilgamesh are her natural enemies. Her best bet is teaming up with Rin or Shirou, but the chances of a teamup with Rin are low and if she kills Shirou first, she's fucked.

It's acceptable to hate the US. Whole world does it.

Fragarach is useless if the opponent doesn't use their trump card first. Caster, Berserker and Gil hard counter her.

Did the clocktower know what she was up against or were they just throwing the person with the most likely chance of success (that they were aware of) at the problem?

They know that servants are a thing but no way to know which servants would be summoned.

>Last time a lord got fucked in that shitfest of a ritual, what do we do now?
>Hey, isn't the gimmick that these servants have Noble Phantasms and shit?
>Yeah?
>And don't we have a combat specialist sealing designation enforcer with a bonafide Noble Phantasm? Let's send her!
It probably went like this.

Of course not. Here's what they were up against in the Fifth War:
>A treacherous overseer who had his own plans for the war
>An eighth Servant, and the King of Heroes at that
>Medea, one of the top 5 magi in human history summoned as Caster
>A Servant fucking summons another Servant.
>A Master who can fight on par with Servants, at least for the first round. Nasu says he can beat Bazett the first go around.
>Heracles as Berserker
>The crown jewel of the Einzberns, a homunculus hybrid who has enough prana capacity to summon and maintain Berserker Heracles for an entire three months prior to the start of the war, with no Greater Grail support. On top of that, her Sorcery Trait is "Wish", which means only has to think it and literally anything can happen, so long as she has the prana capacity for it. She's a monster who makes Flat look tame.
>A Heroic Spirit from the future who can replicate Noble Phantasms and was a magus killer on the same level as Kiritsugu in life. Guaranteed no one would figure out his identity unless he comes out and says it.

Fifth War was fucked.

My point.
She was the best they could muster on short notice (this grail war happened incredibly early) who had the mean of defeating not completely broken enemies(they didn't know this would be one of the most broken yet).

Have we seen anyone part of the mage's association more qualified but as expendable as her? She and pretty boy were all they were willing to spare.

Attached: Ryt5uAJ.jpg (960x540, 202K)

Everyone was also quite unprepared for 5th war as normally there's interval of 50 years between HGWs.

I'd say Kotomine and the Einzberns were pretty prepared.

Just a phase, you'll get a new waifu next season.

How do you know that?

Musashi has Mystic Eyes!

Attached: 140706.png (731x658, 693K)

Einzberns had been preparing for it probably before the 4th war failed. For Kotomine it was just a treat that fell into his lap.

Because I'm you from the future, many waifus down the line and filled with regrets.

Bullshit I even grailed her in FGO

Attached: gray4.jpg (1075x972, 72K)

That's how shit works in TM.

They sure have monsters like Daybit, but my guess is that they simply don't wanna spare them for some ritual in bumfuck nowhere.

Einbern have lesser grail so they know when to expect the war to start. I don't remember Kotomine knowing beforehand that next war will be in 10 years.

Jokes on you I wasnt even that user and I am fiercely loyal to my waifu.

>the final probrem

He doesn't yet, but he's left almost dead with his Spirit Origin gone and only Enkidu keeping him alive. We'll see.

but did you also 10/10/10 2000/2000 her? Otherwise she isn't your true waifu.

They had absolutely no one. Their thought process was "Oh shit, who could we throw at this. Nah they're too important. Hmm yeah who cares about them and they might just pull off a miracle. Cigars and homunculs whores are on me."

>10/10/10
Yeah
>2000/2000
Not enough fous yet

That's Fate for you.

Also, what's Reine's Mystic Eyes?
And what's Touko's on that note too.

>Why not send El Melon? He's always babbling about how much he wants to go
>Cause if he leaves then someone else will have to take care of the Escardos kid
>...Send the irish cunt.

Still cant believe her interaction with Kojiro is that weak. Yeah we have Shimosa but that's not enough

FC?

Speaking of Daybit, he was expelled from the Clock Tower right ? Kinda curious about the reason since he's pretty nice in LB4

I have my summer supports on now though. I'll put Gray back after the event.

Sent, Nobu in all

I think it's because there is no real mutual understanding possible with him.

>She's a monster who makes Flat look tame.
Only because no one knows who or what Flat even is. Illya is at least explainable. Half-homunculus with ludicrous circuits acting as the Lesser Grail and good traits. That's overpowered and dangerous as hell, but not outside the realm of possibility.

Well in theory, she should be able to do anything Flat can do.

They should have send Melon, who will take Gray with him.
Then he can use Gray as the catalyst and summon Saber, then magic merge the two. So Saber no longer needs mana and also now has two NPs. He'd be overpowered as fuck.

Mages do fuck all in HGWs anyway. It's all about how good your servant is (and plot armor ofc).

Accepted, nice Mordred.

Saber would be disgusted and what they did.

>Then he can use Gray as the catalyst and summon Saber, then magic merge the two.
Now you're thinking like a Magus... which is a shame because El Melon is a shitter and would never do this over MUH STUDENT; MUH MORALS

He wants to summon Iskandar though

Waver would never allow that. And Saber would probably be mad about it too.

His plan was to summon Iskandar again. He still has the same catalyst from Zero.

He would have summoned Iskander without even thinking about it.

Why would a cult created by Morgan be obsessed with reviving King Arthur? Shouldn't Saber's death be the best thing ever for her?

Is there even space for a meeting between Gray and Saber? Her mere summoning across the world jumpstarted her transformation twice, so imagine what actual face-to-face contant or actual touch would be like... Which actually makes the UBW good ending kind of terrifying in hindsight.

Still would like to see it, if only to see Mordred seethe from the throne.

Thanks man, can't wait to see your cute Gray.

Attached: Surfbord_Mordred(Rider).jpg (1191x842, 454K)

I think Saber would feel apologetic. And then she'd demand to be taken to the cult to give them a piece of her mind.

uhm, fatefags? why is Mordred a woman?

Homunculus clone of Artoria.

fatebros.... why do male heroes become underage sex-crazed female servants?

Why combine them? Summoning Saber means that you have a servant and a servant-tier human. Both with dragon mana engines, both with busted beam NPs.

Maybe she wants her lover back, just a bit more tamed and obedient to her.

the love child of Morgan and King Arthur (female).

Attached: 7efef7edd96d55a16a9cfb428da8c1e7.jpg (501x960, 69K)

Because that is how the world should be.

Nooo fatebros
Tsukichads are laughing at us again

So the theories of Morgan actually being a yandere might be true?

more like tsukikeks seeing as they'll never get a sequel lmao

>use Gray as the catalyst and summon Saber,
That will make him just as bad as the cultist, you cultist.

It would probably gave him Lancer Artoria instead

Nice try, /tmg/ is still being mad over FGO. Now fuck back off to /vg/ so you can keep starting retarded fanbase wars.

Well she obviously is very possessive and cunning.
Her own child Mordred is simply a tool for her to get Artorias attention back.

Sell me on this anime.

Think of it more properly as "Outsider."
Things existing of heavily influenced by the powers outside of humans and "typical gods."
We have 3 concrete examples and two major hinted ideas.
Abigail Williams: Specifically groomed by Randolph Carter to become a living gate for Yog-Sloloth to bridge into the human world in the Salem chapter.
Katsuhika/Oi Hokusai: Dad was literally cursed into being a floating squid beast by an eldritch god for "creating"/popularizing tentacle porn.
Mysterious Heroine XX: Literally an alien.
Presumably, Altera (of the moon) is a candidate for similar reasons. Especially since the card resembles Sefar's body.
And there's kind of an assumption that if Strange Fake ever moved on enough for f/go to start using it, Prelati (M) would be used as a caster while Prelati (F) would be used as a foreigner.

Stupid people love USA.
Smart people hate USA.
Regardless of nationality.

Magic detective Waver and his classroom of autists.

Will Troyca be the next slave studio of Fate ? So far they did Case Files anime and FGO OP2.

It has waifus and a Saber clone.
The rest doesn't really matter.

Also, the art and animation are good by today's standards.

ass
tiddies
magic

Not only that: Gil's Saint Graph is gone. He's gone even from the Throne of Heroes now. Best thing about it: It was Heracles (Alcides) and an Einzbern girl (Filia) who killed him by combined effort.

How good is Alcides in non-berserker form?

Better than berzerker by a mile.

>being this new
>pretending to be oldfag
LMAO

sherlock for weebs

Alcides is different servant from Herc. If you're asking about archer Herc, imagine berserker Herc but this sanity and strategy and also with super powerful offensive noble phantasm.

MORE broken.
Instead of 12 lives through God Hand he now has 12 Noble Phantasms. We don't know all yet but among those are:
>Fur of the Nemean Lion
He is immune to every manmade weapon. Gate of Babylon has no effect against it except for Ea.
>Belt of Ares
He can infuse weapons with divinity traits.

Not to mention that he now has his mind in order and is much more nimble. He can also summon Cerberus and a lot of other shit.

What? How does this affect all other timelines? Did he job so hard?

Part of Clock Tower does want to get rid of him though.

The Saint Graph is basically a Servant's record in the Throne of Heroes making that person summonable. When it's gone it simply means that this hero can never be summoned again. Other timelines are not affected from this but the future is.

What happens to a servant can't affect the original in the Throne of Heroes in any way. His Saint Graph only affects his summoned version.

He didn't really job and fought quite well.
But he got hit by Hydra Poison which is stupidly OP in Fate. Chiron was immortal and turned mortal from that poison. Someone like Gil just gets insta-killed by it.

Isn't the Throne outside of time though?

>Gate of Babylon has no effect against it except for Ea.
Except for the part in volume 5 where Gil bypassed it via using other divine weapons he has + attacking the gaps in the pelt's coverage

Gil remained standing and didn't even blink at the pain which made immortals want to die while Alcides who got saved by the grail mud is still losing his mind

So what has Gil accomplished in SF?

Bankrupt several casinos

>won at gambling
>got to meet up with enkidu again
>almost won against herc if it weren't for the combined efforts of herc, ishtar, humbaba and gil's own pride once again
He's not 100% dead (although probably will be in volume 6) so it's not done, he also still has an unrevealed noble phantasm listed

Ishtar? Why didn't he just Ea Herc?

>Roa: Never had a "certain encounter", so while he still became a vampire, he wasn't all that powerful and was ultimately killed off by the King of the Cavern.
Why would he become a vampire if he never met Arcueid? Like, seeing her timeless perfection drove him obsessed with eternity, making him want to become the serpent of akasha. Even of he got obssesed by eternity by some other reason (Roa was like, super duper pure church boy who lnew no feelings before then and couldn't even recognize his own love/want iirc), he would probably still try to become a reincarnator, no?
Roa and CM's talk at Melty makes a point that Roa wanted to watch human history untol the end (while CM just wanted to come back as himself with rougly the same abilities and powers)

>Ishtar
A fragment of Ishtar's soul / spirit / whatever left behind on Earth inhabiting the Einzbern homunculus Filia. She gets ahold of Gil's spare treasury key which was used to summon him and closes GoB while he's fighting Herc/Alcides.
>Ea
When has he ever "just Ea'd" someone? He was doing fine and winning with GoB until Ishtar + Humbaba showed up

Gil's reaction to getting a facefull of All The World's Evils was "bring thrice as much", while Herc loses his mind and kills his loved ones every other day into his myths.

>Collab events only have one SSR
