Shouji Sato washed his hands of it, despite the story being some B-Horror movie tier Shouji still respected Daisuki Sato as a writer, the guy was his senior by many years.
Shouji made Triage X alone and has the same thing he did on HotD, girls and military porn. Triage X is still ongoing,HotD is deader than dead at this point.
