The final boss fight was pretty great, and having some sort of minigame is nice to pace things out. And even better if it's actually polished and decent unlike the garbage in Little Busters.

I enjoyed the combat a lot, mastering the hidden crits is fun, it is pretty much a rhythm game TRPG. Plus TRPG gameplay is core to the franchise and something that made the original stand out so it would be weird to remove it.
