Liar Game

Why is there no anime adaptation of this thing yet? Why did they make this faggy unwatchable liveaction drama but not an actual animated series? It has a huge potential to be great when animated, especially when it's basically Death Note but actually smart (and just as Death Note all those intense verbal fights and mind games would turn out even better than in manga with dynamic camera shots and expressive editing).

No fan-service combined with the fact that series that require you to actually think alienates normies. When normies can't be expected to think they at least need fan-service or waifu trash or memes to keep them occupied

Didn't they turn it into a game show?

Also lol @ the ending.

Well, Nao is quite cute and would fit as a waifu for some people, but I guess one cute character is not enough in terms of fanservice. On the other hand Legends of Galactic Heroes lack fanservice or memes and requires watcher to think but is quite popular, and there is probably few more series like this.

I enjoyed Liar Game as a manga, but it wouldn't translate well to anime because most of it is explanations and that's just not interesting to watch. Imagine this being stretched into 12 episodes even. Just 12 episodes of characters talking.

I liked the jdrama version.

Half of the Death Note is just talking and explaining stuff and people loved it.

Thats because death note at times has wacky directing and Light's God complex and L's autism help carry it

Too smart for ADD-addled animefags

People complain when there isn't a explosion or edgy shit in the first 10 minutes of an show. Even worse when they are shown stuff like Liar Game where half the series is dialogue that forces you to think

>require you to actually think

Yeah, really hurted my brain when all those characters explained every single detail behind their logic and asspulls.

Dumb fuck.

>hurted
Seems like you needed those explanations.

>death note at times has wacky directing
They could do the same for Liar Game. If DN could have scenes of just writing in notebook be the most intense and overdramatic shots in the series then Liar Game could use similar methods by making regular scenes like a character thinking or observing other people be way more dramatic than they should.
>Light's God complex and L's autism help carry it
LG main characters also have unique character traits that would help the flow of the story when animated. Overly expressive and non-stop crying Nao + calm and stoic Akiyama makes a good pair and allows to show the story from two perspectives. Because everyone has to explain everything to Nao even the slower people will understand what is happening and because there is Akiyama the story won't suffer from the 'retard protagonist' syndrome. Genius + stupid is quite popular pair in similar mangas and it still definitely works for them after being animated.

because the live action is decent and has an actual WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better ending then the manga
LIKE ITS FUCKING INSANE HOW MUCH BETTER THE LIVE ACTION ENDING IS.
manga is better of course up until last 2 games

Because it had a shitty rushed ending. Just like most manga with shitty rushed endings, no studio is going to touch that shit with a 10ft pole.

Why, how did the live action end?

One of the worst endings I've ever read in my life.

in the live action in the final game everyone needs to vote.
then it is revealed that the entire liars game premise is done by giant multi billionaires that bet on the outcome.
in this final game she got everyone to vote for share instead of take. this bankrupted all the big guys into oblivion.
end of manga is like
>lol jk there was never any danger and everyone could have just kept the suitcase with money we gave them without repercussion.

Iirc. the ending was total garbage.

live action ending was good

It's considered to be an intelligent series (whether that's true or not is up for debate) so it skipped anime which is for children and went straight to live-action. The only hypocrisy present in situations like these is where they go live-action but emulate anime character mannerisms, which usually barely passes as human behavior in 2D to begin with and does not work at all in 3D.

With an ending that bad, does that mean the series isn't very good?

Brainlets didn't get the ending.

That reminds me a lot of the movie Rat Race's ending.

nao crying was the worst part of liar game though
