That's so fucked up if you try to imagine it.

this is why you don’t skip on security measures user. imagine how bad it’s gonna get once the jews start importing niggers and muslims.

>what is the chimney-effect
LOL

>most of the victims were found piled up on a stairway to the roof, where they collapsed trying to escape

They did not.... Find a way.

>Kyoani treats their employees we-

*locks them up and lets them burn

rumor has it that the door was locked because they didn't want people smoking cigs on the roof.

apparently security was lax due to nhk dropping by. dunno if it's confirmed.

>the building adhered to fire safety code
What the hell?
It only had one exit.

not if the exit was locked

>rumor has it that the door was locked because they didn't want people smoking cigs on the roof.

stop spreading this retarded fucking meme. you people keep wondering why japs hate foreigners, it's because they think you're all dumb pigs.

I have seen that statement on actual fucking news sites because they don't bother doing their research either.

www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20190718/k10011998101000.html the door wasn't locked.

imagine trying to make your way to the roof while your lungs fill with smoke and you pass out before you can get there, and then retarded journalists make shit up out of nowhere painting you as a retard that can't break open a door with 20 people

Heard talk about the door having been unlocked. The victims pushed rather then pulled the door in a panic. Panic. Don't panic. People do this anyways.

It's the same how people keep repeating their idiotic impression that he calmly walked around the ground floor, sprayed everything and everyone with gasoline for a few minutes and everyone just kept ignoring being doused. People just have no clue what happened, make up retarded scenarios in their head and then say "haha, that's retarded, what a bunch of retards".

We all know that bad fire codes and lack of safety measures contributed towards the high death count. But more importantly. What does Yea Forums think of Mr. Obvious's take on the KyoAni fire?

youtube.com/watch?v=Kv86I623zwg

Reminds me of what happened in that big block fire in the UK. Some guy helped a lot of people take refuge in his apartment only for them to be found dead by the smoke.

Dare I say, MOE-KAMPF?

>a neighbor, the 81-year-old Ken Okumura, remembered seeing several women jump from the building’s second floor. They were so badly burned that blood was coming from their noses, and all of their clothes but their underwear were gone. “Just horrible,” Mr. Okumura said on Friday, as the smell of burning still hung in the humid air.

>Hatsumi Yamashita, 74, who teaches dance at a nearby community center where firefighters treated some of the injured in a garage, remembered seeing one woman sitting on a staircase, wearing what Ms. Yamashita first thought was a jet-black outfit. “But when she laid down on the floor, I saw she was so burned that she was almost naked,” she said. “I could never forget this young woman,” Ms. Yamashita said.

Not sure if it was appropriate but this was written in the NYT.

>apparently security was lax due to nhk dropping
Sounds like an inside job. Also how can no one thought of getting out from a window?

Yeah, the news did report a bunch of them were so burned that they had to be amputated.

Pretty much the same thing happened here:
youtube.com/watch?v=udVrQSHm8mg

Why didn't they simply jump from the windows? Bulding didn't seem that tall to me, at least for those on the second floor.

Then where are the photos?

Even a jump from the third floor would only result in some broken ribs at worst.

>smoke filling your lungs
Game ends here.

You can't smell/see/taste carbon monoxide.

Based, balanced, intelligent and red pilled.

Would you be willing to cut your own legs to save yourself in the heat of the moment?

Did they panic because they didnt have any fire escape exits on the upper floors?

>WHY DIDNT ANYONE JUST JUMP LOL???

In that stupid spiral staircase? Shit, it doesn't look like two people could even walk side by side on that thing.

It’s 8m up. That’s death territory, friend.

there were corpse piles near the windows acc to other anons
basically they tried

The building was smoked up by the time people realised. If you weren’t going for the windows almost immediately, you are dead.

Most people would survive that.

because it took a mere minutes for everyone in the building to be fucking unconcious thanks to smoke.

imagine you're inside your house, and you notice there's smoke coming inside your room. you leave your room to find that your house door is fucking set ablaze. you then make your way to your backdoor and pass out thanks to smoke shortly before reaching it.

obviously this wouldn't happen inside your house, because it doesn't have a retarded spiral staircase that turns into a furnace, but you get the gist.

there's probably a window inside your room you could have broken open and jumped out of the whole time, but your brain turns to actions you've done a hundred times before instead. there's also 19 other people in your room who are all going to the back door.

Not enough time

Not really. There were cases of people surviving far worse than that.

Advertisement isn't allowed on Yea Forums

Not necessarily. A fall from that height can lead to broken legs, hips and backs. If you fall badly and hit your head after that fall, you are dead. Breaking your hips can also lead to arterial damage and bleeding out. I don’t think you realise how dangerous falls are.

Why I sad most people. 8 m still isn't certain death.

Just how fucking fast this smoke can kill you?

It's how they can cope with the fact similar things can happen to them. "I am smart and they are dumb so there's no way that would happen to me"

There are cases of people surviving falling from the sky. Your point being? People can survive, it doesn’t mean you will. There’s a significant risk of death from that height. Every single floor up increases the risk massively. If it’s only 5% from the second floor, it jumps up to 30-40% from the roof. Still better than 100% death from smoke inhalation, but don’t underestimate falls.

Takes less than 3 mins for fire to hit flash, afterwards everything in the vicinity catches on fire. Everything, from walls to people.

Hyouka is a wonderful anime.

Attached: 30516713.jpg (1575x823, 318K)

It's a push door

I agree with this. That’s why I said it was death territory, not certain death. It’s just at that height death becomes a significant outcome to think about. Still better than certain death from smoke inhalation or fire though.

There was a hero from outside who pulled a ladder and tried to save people.
I think, he manage to save 4 before having to stop due to the smoke getting dangerous for him

And that’s three minutes of a normal fire. This was a gasoline fire and would have hit the flashpoint in seconds.

Someone should post the video of the hospital ward to show how quickly a room can go up.

You know, I usually go to Yea Forums or watch anime to escape from my harsh unplesant life, but this event has robbed me of that.
Fuck. This isn't what I needed right now.

A failure to do so resulted in death, talk about tail risk.

You'd pass out first, then you are toast.

If you breath in something that's hot enough your lungs pretty much collapse instantly.

good luck breathing

I want to see that fat fuck try this in America and see what fucking happens.

Shut up, idiot.

As someone who has been in a life or death situation before it's the panic that always get you. You can go thru drills, read your safety signs, but in a situation where you can't see properly, you get disoriented, and you panic, when you panic you inhale more, and when you inhale more ina smokey area that's more smoke in your lungs. I

It's a sad situation and all these asshats giggling and making shitty fucking jokes and spreading false information, I really hope they're never put in a situation like that ever.

Is everyone else taking stock of the fire prevention, suppression, alarms and escape routes in their homes and places of work? Be safe everybody.

fire is scary how fast it can get out of control
youtu.be/iIxN3ypB3rw?t=103

So why did the guy did it?
Was it the Barisaku shit afterall?

Did you choose that picture because its thumbnail looks like everything around her is ON FIRE?

>most of the unborn children were found piled up in a toilet paper in the toilet, where they starved to death trying to create more life.

Miria Akagi’s VA is dead.

Fans won't let it die.

What about age and any respiratory illnesses condition in the victims, the most common being asthma. Many of them probably reacted worse than expected to the smoke. I can’t be near a smoker, I would probably have died in a blink in a situation like that.

W-What...?

Yeah. Now imagine 20x that.

>The victims pushed rather then pulled the door in a panic.

It opens to the outside, i.e. is a push door...

They did.

>This is the testimony from a man working at Kyoto Animation in charge of scenery/background. He was working at the second floor.
>According to to him, you could hear an argument at the first floor. Then there was a woman's scream and a sudden "boom", a loud explosion sound.
>A man climbed to the second floor and shouted "There's a fire!". A nearby woman pushed the emergency bell button but soon after a mushroom-cloud-like smoke came from the spiral stairs.
>The small was ink black. In the blink of an eye, you couldn't see nearby things anymore. Breathing became difficult.
>As the man evacuated the second floor with other employees, he could feel a hot wind blowing behind him and hear voices calling "Help!".
>Once on the balcony, he could hear a voice say "It's alright, jump down.", so with other employees he jumped to the first floor, injuring his arm when landing, but was rescued by the fire brigade and transported to a hospital.
>The man said that at the scene, many voices were screaming "Help me please!". It was a choice between jumping down and hurting yourself, or dying. But at this time, some employees could not jump down.
>Also, as Kyoto Animation's workplace is "a workplace where you can do creative work, the employees and staff are like family; I don't know if many colleagues who were there are safe or not, so I can't sort out my feelings."
>In addition, about the suspect Aoba Shinji (41), "If I saif I'm not feeling frustrated, it would be a lie, but after recovering, I want him to be punished by law. And I want him to say why he did such a thing."

>Britbongs start celebrating
Should have stayed in the stand

The door to the roof was not locked. The bodies were found with little damage so it is suspected that they died from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
news.livedoor.com/article/detail/16794893/

There's something I don't get, from where are the people saying they should be prepared for a terrorist attack? Becase they would've survived a normal fire.

She isn’t.

Wait, 56 people died and the mongoloids fucking cheered while on the pitch?

Post that old lady witness account of the one dying by the window

no denying asian high iq is just a myth

Yeah what the fuck is up with that

Murricans are extremely paranoid, see how they thought they would be nuked after WWII. They are always looking for a reason to feed their extreme sense of paranoia, they just feel relieved when something bad happens to them because “they were right”.

Stop trying to make a Japanese tragedy about your anti-American politics you piece of shit.

I'm a burger and I can confirm

>stop being prepared for possible disasters, it's bad for you.

they're tiny rice people, not murican landwhales who need 2 exit

>[An eyewitness] lady said between sobs, "Someone left in the building was begging for help from a window. I couldn't tell if they were a man or a woman. Their mouth was bright red against their blackened body covered completely in soot, even their face. All I could tell was that they were crying out "HELP! HELP" again and again. Soon they stopped moving against the window and burned into it like a shadow. Then I heard the din of ambulance sirens and helicopters flying by."

I suppose gas filter masks should be brought to work just in case. They may not be as great as an oxygen mask hooked up to an air tank but they do help.

What series did that kyoani studio do? Want to know if they did any shows I liked.

Why didn't the person jump outside instead of asking for help from the window?

CO on its own can be instant death

100% push door. Makes me wonder how /sci/ views all of this.

>their blackened body covered completely in soot, even their face
Too late

there's no mystery to be had.

all the firemen reports state the corpses were near the door, not at it.

they chocked on smoke a few meters before their escpae.

Being prepared for a fire is not equal to being prepared for a gasoline attack by a crazy motherfucker. Every single thing people are suggesting are based in the fact they know a guy with 40L of gasoline is going to attack. From how the building should have been made to have windows without bars, everything suggested NOW is based in an attack that already happened. If KyoAny were vandalized 10 years later by the lack of proper security, people would be complaining WHY they don’t secure the windows OMG, basic anti-theft code!!

>Covered head to toe in black, likely already severely burnt, delirious, in full panic mode
>”Why didn’t they do X?”
You couldn’t be anymore retarded if you fucking tried. I know you would’ve killed the guy who started the fire and saved all 33 employees despite your crippling condition, though.

>Abe mandates training on how to smash a window with a chair and just hop out dude

Window probably wasn’t fully open and they were too weak. The fact that they collapsed seconds later shows you the margin between life and toasty death.

I imagine the incident progressed quickly and she was not aware of the direness of her situation, afraid to jump, or she wasn't able to think properly.
The judgment of what best to do in the circumstances is easy for us to come to as we're leisurely reading the news. They did not have the time nor the peace of mind.

High concentrates of CO will knock you out in a single breath. There are worse ways to go

Why are most internet shitheads so resistant to the idea that the building was unsafe and Kyoani's higher-ups need to be held accountable? Obviously what fire escapes and alarms were present, if there were fucking ANY, were not adequate. A single dipshit boomer shouldn't be able to cover the entire first floor in gasoline and have it go up in flames before the people inside the building can react. There should have been fire alarms for anyone to run up and pull. Any American commercial building would have fire escapes made of non-flammable material that an arsonist couldn't light on fire unless they literally stacked wood inside of it.

>KyoAni had China tier safety precautions
moe shitters absolutey btfo

I think people have a very hard time realising just how infernal shit like this is. They imagine a typical fire that you can run through to jump out of a window.

I wonder if Japan has enough burn wards to handle the 30+ people who were burned?

Of course they do.

>We all know that bad fire codes and lack of safety measures contributed towards the high death count.

No we don't. Shitheads everywhere are acting like the safety measures were totally fine, and praising the fucking asshole Kyoani president who says he's going to build a monument like he's not an accomplice in killing over 30 people in a fire. He should be on the noose right with the arsonist.

>they chocked on smoke a few meters before their escpae.
It's more likely CO poisoning as indicated here . Carbon monoxide permanently binds to your red blood cells preventing them from taking oxygen. Once it binds to a red blood cell that cell literally has to die and be replaced. If it binds to enough of them even if you're breathing in pure oxygen you'll still suffocate because you don't have enough red blood cells that can carry the oxygen. And to make it worse CO is colorless and odorless so you don't know you're breathing it.

No point in even replying to people who have no compassion and who have never dealt with any kind of serious situation in their lives no have any proper training in emergency response. Just don't waste your time user.

This. The lucky ones with quick thinking that were already near a window actually had the time to jump out.
Running to a window with all that smoke around is another story.

how would you prepare for someone pouring gas on you and lighting you on fire
>w-well i always keep a pool of water next to me so i can jump in
>i also carry my katana with me at all times to fight off criminals

Jeez, talk about unlucky

In his defense you can't see the number of australians on Yea Forums without flags

Because the fire chief himself said that the building met all relevant fire standards. He said the only way to prevent stuff like this in the future is to restrict who gets into the building and what they take with them

the building passed fire inspection.

It LITERALLY was considered safe by japanese standards. those don't involve fucking terror attacks unlike a certain other country

>how would you prepare for someone pouring gas on you and lighting you on fire
I don't go outside in the first place, so there's no people near me. Check mate.

>Normal functioning adult: The fucking rich assholes who forced these people to work there should be held accountable for not bothering to make sure the building was safe
>LE REDDIT ZOOMER: OMG YOU HAVE NO COMPASSION

The only thing hire-ups could do to prevent this is either implement door security or have their animators work in an open field. Gasoline + fire creates a near instanteous blaze, and the smoke is the real killer. Your suggestions would not prevent this incident from recurring.

>water is gong to stop a gasoline bomb
>a better set of stairs is going to stop the smoke to reach second and third floor
>why they don’t have fire that don’t melt things!
Do you want to spit on a gasoline fire and see how easily you can control it?

Not him, do you have a source you can link to? Not disputing, just curious because I hadn't seen it before.

I thought they used different buildings? Was this fire in their main office, holy shit.

>hyouka
>tamako market
>clannad
I didn't even know. Those works warmed my heart when I saw them. This sucks. Does anyone know what that scumfuck supposedly had that was plagiarized?

>no oxygen in brain
anything you decide to do from here on is wrong

I don't think you get how dangerous 40L of gasoline is

What is the thing in the window?

Then the fucking fire chief needs to be fired and possibly prosecuted for criminal neglect, and the entire fucking country needs to revisit its idea of what fire standards are.

>It LITERALLY was considered safe by japanese standards.

And we've seen how much those are worth!

Did you worthless stupid animals read the second part of the post wherein are described the specific criteria that first world nations have to meet and the building in question failed to meet?

If you're going to die in a fire, CO poisoning is probably the best way to die.

You'll die quickly, painlessly and will literally be high.

>There should have been fire alarms for anyone to run up and pull.
Lurk moar faggot

>people become roasted black in seconds
so why does it take my chicken so fucking long to cook

Which is the novel KyoAni allegedly plagiarized to that subhuman?

Only the building was up to code so it's not like they were working in the Triangle Shirt-Waist Factory.

I don't think you've ever lit a fire in your life, or interacted with a person, if you think that in a normal building a single idiot could dump 40 liters of gasoline all over the entire floor and light it up before anyone present could pull a fire alarm. And then have every fire escape be magically rendered inaccessible. The building was NOT SAFE. There is no way it was. Use your brain.

One lungful is enough to cause unconsciousness, and the heat from a normal fire in an up to code house is enough to make people without proper training pass out within a minute through their firefighting gear.

Hmm try pouring gasoline on your chicken then setting it alight?

So the retard lunatic lit the first floor on fire, and all of the other floors were magically on fire a split second later? And this building met fire safety standards in Japan?

Is America a first world country?

Fire safety standards are meant to protect people from small, accidental fires.
No set of regulations in the world can protect you from a fucking gasoline explosion in a tiny building

No. Everything about it is pure speculation based on him saying something about his work being stolen. It's all just theories. The attacker is being treated for his burn wounds and is unconscious. Until he says why he did it, no one knows anything.

They must be from the away team

Your chicken cooks at 250c . A petrol fire burns at 950c

Look at some videos of the smoke. It was dense with zero visibility. If you're inside it, you can't breath for sure, and even if you do it will be so hot that it burns your lung, and it will be full of CO, which makes you suffocate inside. You will have no idea where to run. If you read articles about fires, it's always the smoke who kills most people in one way or another.

You want to roast your chicken thorougly instead of just its thin surface layer. Charred skin and raw meat isn't a good combination.

The building was 'safe' by Japanese standards. The problem was that Japanese standards are shit.

You can light gasoline on fire on your hand and it won't even fucking hurt you. It's not magic instant-inferno. What the fuck was this building made out of?! Dry twigs?

>demanding another culture needs to change to satisfy your own standard
wow what a bigot

Use a hotter fire.

Football fans are scum so might be.

Oh for sure, I'd much rather die of CO poisoning than burn to death. I just think it's sad that were it not for the CO they may have survived. Like this user said if they had proper gas masks they'd probably have been able to make it out. Unfortunately, that shit isn't standard fire safety equipment in buildings for some reason. After seeing this shit if I ever end up on the 2nd floor of a building in my office I'm keeping one in my desk even if it makes them think I'm a psycho.

But are the same standards applied to commercial building as they are to residential ones?

A fireproofed stone fire escape would have saved them. An office building with that many staff really should have had one...

That depends on the nigger/spic percentage of the state you are currently in.

You'd have to fuck up the landing pretty badly to end up hitting your head. Just tuck and roll and you'll distribute enough of the impact's force to live.

I work 911 dispatch and I'm still fucked up though from someone who found their toddler and wife dead from CO and I had to tell the guy to get the fuck out of the house or else he would be dead soon too. Easily my worst call.

I LITERALLY DESCRIBED TO YOU, SUBHUMAN, WHAT WOULD HAVE SAVED THE PEOPLE IN THIS TINY BUILDING

A FUCKING CONCRETE SHAFT WITH NO FLAMMABLE MATERIAL INSIDE IT

IT'S CALLED A FUCKING FIRE ESCAPE

WHY THE FUCK WAS THERE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF SMOKE ON EVERY FLOOR, WITHIN A MINUTE OF A DUDE LIGHTING A FIRE ON THE FIRST FLOOR?

Japanese fire codes i guess

Because it was full of material that can burn? Low oxygen probably makes the smoke thicker too.

Wow, you don't really get it, this is a 2L fire
Dude used 20 times that

Human crush. You can see something like it 2 minutes into this video: youtube.com/watch?v=udVrQSHm8mg

That's not how it works.

The problem is certain country considering a mass shooting a picnic day, so they can’t believe other nations dare to be unprepared for aliums bombing with napalm and magic aids and gasoline fire.

Carbon Monoxide detectors should be a requirement of houses with gas boilers.

What about my lifelong dream of jerking off in the kyoani ladies room?

It's not. It's a boring mess.

If a fire can instantly jump from the first floor to the second floor then that's a major fire safety violation by itself, not even taking into account the obvious absence of fire escapes. Don't even try to tell me they let the arsonist run up to the second floor and dump gasoline over every square foot of it like he supposedly did to the first floor.

This must be the type of people that sue teacher for not having a gun to shoot back in a school shooting

It was an inside job. What if it was an inside job and the execs who weren't in the office were just after the insurance money and a cash out?

How deep does this go? Does Abe know?

because they had a retarded spiral staircase going to all 3 floors.

That is what happens when a fire reaches flashpoint, which happens in a matter of seconds in the case of a gasoline fire. Although the open spiral staircase certainly did not contribute in fighting the fire, there is not a whole lot that could.

I'm sure you'll be an /ak/robat when you suddenly are faced with an inferno in your building and have less than a minute to figure out what to do.

Only 3 floors. Windows that open. Easy access to the roof. Looks like it even had balconies. Fire regulations or not, this doesn't look like a building that was destined to be deathtrap. The 40 L of gasoline must have started a fire that spread super fast. I don't think many people realize how quickly it all must have happened.

Attached: 1280px-Kyoto_Animation_Studio_1a.jpg (1280x1070, 402K)

That is fucking chillingly horrifying.
Yet at the same time
youtu.be/udVrQSHm8mg?t=43
>Woah... That's not good.
May win understatement on the century.

>Not sure if it was appropriate but this was written in the NYT.
Which part of this is not appropriate?

You're probably the most competent and knowledgeable person in this thread, as opposed to the twenty pretend fire safety engineers.

>if you think that in a normal building a single idiot could dump 40 liters of gasoline all over the entire floor and light it up before anyone present could pull a fire alarm
It was in a 10 gallon bucket that he wheeled in on a cart. Similar to one of the buckets in pic related. How long would it take you to spill a bucket? Two seconds? This isn't one of your shonen anime where the people have instant teleportation you know.

Attached: 007__05564.1408723420.1280.1280.png (1280x1280, 643K)

Fuck you ya cunt nugget

Some say the staircase acted as chimney, which means that the air draft will suck all smoke upwards. The fire didn't have to reach the second floor at the time. It was enough to fill everything with deadly hot smoke to cause a disaster to the people inside.
The building supposedly passed fire safety inspections less than a year ago. Everyone here is shitting on japanese safety standards now, without knowing them.

Are you joking? Okay, so maybe the whole first floor lobby went up in flames all at once. So what? It's still a fire. It needs time to spread bigger than that.

A first world country has smoke dampers, fire caulk, all kinds of shit to keep it contained for at least a few minutes. Which should be more than enough time for the people who weren't directly present to hear the FIRE ALARM and escape out of a FIRE ESCAPE. Oh, I guess they didn't fucking have those things! Crazy me for thinking they should maybe reconsider not having them!

Well duh, it's not safe against 40l of gasoline fire. Also you should use your brain first before telling someone

>Why aren't cartoon studios built to withstand suicide bombers?!

You have no fucking clue what you are talking about.

>40 liters of gasoline all over the entire floor
It takes like 5s at most, use your brain user

They are required. They'll flag it as an item to be fixed during a home inspection if you're buying a house. A lot of people let the batteries die or end up not having one for some reason.

So did anyone survive and do we have a motive yet?

You really have no idea

FACT: if I had been in the building I would have survived. If you, yes you reading this, had been in the building, you wouldn't have survived.

you're retarded if you think a gasoline fire made from 40liters that gets ignited besides a spiral staircase needs time to spread.

these people couldn't even make it to the roof in a 3 story building without dying.

I think there were around 70 people in the building. 34 confirmed dead.

Are you fucking retarded? That's broken legs terrirotiry but unless you go head first there's no way you'll outright die.

Lmao ahahaha

Rooftop fire escapes are a fucking deathtrap. Who came up with that system and thought it was sensible? Of course they're going to be screwed by smoke inhalation while ASCENDING a burning building.

>youtube.com/watch?v=udVrQSHm8mg
This is a better example of a fire in an enclosed space. One exit, a horde of terrified people blocking it and about 2 minutes until you either suffocate or burn to death.

The people who died in the stairwell were the lucky ones. The ones who made it out and are now dealing with near-100% body-surface-area burns are the ones who are in for hell.

>trying to make your way to the roof while your lungs fill with smoke and you pass out before you can get there
they did get there though. the thing is that it was a pull door and people were fucking falling on top of each other and pushing everyone against it in panic so it couldn't be pulled open.

Yeah that looks easy to get out of provided the windows are unlocked. Double glazing is hard to smash through in an emergency.

>A total of 34 people were killed: 28 from carbon monoxide poisoning, five who suffered severe burns, and one who later died at the hospital.
There you go.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Animation_arson_attack

Honestly, if I could pick between Yea Forums burning down and KyoAni burning down I would pick Yea Forums burning down. KyoAni were masters of anime.... sad

>So what? It's still a fire.
Very cute user

You stupid fuck, fire is fast. They were told by authorities that they passed the fire codes. This doesn't mean the code is infallible, we may see a reform in the code in response to this case. But no one, including the fire code, expects a madman to waltz into the middle of residential Kyoto and throw gasoline on them with the intent to kill. What is this bullshit victim blaming? They've lost workers, friends, family in this tragedy. Haven't they suffered enough for you?

>it was a pull door
wrong

you're fucking retarded.

name me a single japanese source. I'm 100% sure you just read that meme on Yea Forums somewhere and never bothered to check on it.

You can die super easily from a third story fall. People get turned into vegetables all the time after falling off the second story of a residential house while cleaning gutters.

She's just being radio silent out of grief and respect right? She wasn't actually in the building at the time right?

Voice acting isn't recorded at the animation studio but in a recording studio.

EOPs gonna EOP.

You mean like the server or whatever?

I’ve been posting on this website for 15 years. You are in the top five dumbest posters I’ve ever come across.

They had voice actors on the day for the press talk with NHK.

I was wrong actually, it wasn't the fire chief they were quoting but a former forensic investigator for the police(who is a now a doctor)

t. mr. obvious

I didn't read that in a reputable source yet, but I did read that only employees died. VA's aren't employees

Thanks

I don't want to think about it, but it's possible bodies are visible in this photo...

You can die if you fall on your head, any other way and you'll break a few bones at worst.

Oh god, please no...

Hold your free hand over the hand with gasoline on it and see which one ends up burned worse after 10 seconds

What's with the idiot going about the fire code? It's been said time and time again, they were prepared in case of a fire but not a gasoline arson attack.

Where in the world are buildings made with that in mind?

go back to Yea Forums

LOL why didn't the people on 9/11 just do that?

One person had to have both legs amputated, according to wikipedia.

>They've lost workers, friends, family in this tragedy.
Oh yeah me too. He was one of the fire marshals employed by Kyoani. Guess he's not getting a bonus this year either.

Trying to escape through rooftop is what killed them. The only people who survived did so by either jumping down from balcony and windows or climbing down rain pipes. These were likely the only realistic ways to get out. Escaping through first floor was impossible after fire had spread and rooftop was just as bad due to chimney effect. Unfortunately the comfy spiral staircase is what allowed the smoke to spread so fast and likely what lead to so many deaths. If they had a bit more time I'm sure the deaths would have been minimal.

That is actually hilarious lmao

Were many of the survivors completely ok or were most badly injured?

Witnesses talk about an explosion. It's not like that fucker took 5 minutes smearing the whole building in gasoline and only after that went in. He probably got inside with the can of gasoline which got lit all at once. That was the explosion, which covered the whole first floor in a burning gasoline, including the perp and those few people that died of severe burns . No fire alarm or sprinkles can help with that.

>fire is fast
Fire is fast when the materials are flammable. Nothing used in modern building construction is conducive to the spread of fire. Fires destroying buildings at all is basically unheard of in the modern era unless it's a deliberate arson using accelerants like this was or exceptionally old structure that no longer meet modern coding regulations. Smoke is exceptionally more dangerous than the fire itself, because fire does not spread quickly in modern buildings

That user is correct that the only reason as many people died as they did is because the building's fire safety was unacceptably lax. If this building met fire safety regulations, then the regulations themselves are what is in need of reform. People died because the means of escape from the building were insufficient and impractical. Rooftop fire escapes don't work, because ascending a flight of stairs in a burning building is suicide. When a tragedy illustrates that your policies are insufficient to mitigate tragedies, it's time to consider how to amend them.

>ガソリンは着火と同時に火炎が数メートル上がるなど、通常とは比較にならないスピードで炎が広がるので、おそらく火災報知器が鳴る時間も、防火扉が作動する時間もないぐらい勢いよく燃え広がったと思われる。

>just get fire doors and alarms lol stop nips

I just want the injured to heal

Buildings aren't designed to resist legitimate fucking arson you idiot. With enough heat and fuel literally anything will burn

imagine the smell of her cooked pussy juices teehee

>They had voice actors on the day for the press talk with NHK.
No, they didn't. You're just playing a ridiculous game of telephone driven by idiocy and paranoia.

No.

Go back to réddit, moralfag

hold up is he freeclimbing? No weird sticky gloves shit?

How are you going to heal if you have lost 80% of your skin and nerve endings and both of your arms have been amputated?

>muh regulations

It's retards from the what if? brigade like you that make living in first world countries unaffordable

But all 6 survived if the only employees died thing is true. They could however be in hospital on the injured and/or going to die list if they were indeed there.

He sounds like someone who considers a building's susceptibility to bombings as the fault of the building planner.

why couldn't they get to the roof?

Shit, are they? In Frogland and nobody told me about detectors and I got a boiler. Is it something you need to put in every room (since we have radiators in each room) and in the kitchen where the boiler is?

there were like 12 heavily injured last I checked, 15 medium.

actually it's 11 now because one died

I hope we'll get a whole lot of new KyoAni girl hentai pics and doujins to help the crew heal! Hentai artists should show their support!!

They’re dead user. No more hibikes

the building had a spiral straircase.

second and third floors were filled with smoke instantly. their lungs filled with either smoke or CO and they passed out before getting there. then they either died from the fire or lack of oxygen.

user, one of the survivors broke his arm jumping from the second story. If you fall from the third story of a building you've got a serious chance of dying. A quick Google says the LD50 for falling from a building is 4 stories. If you do survive a 3rd story jump you stand a good chance of being paralyzed after you break your back. Obviously in hindsight jumping from the 3rd story would have been a good idea considering you'd only have like a 20% chance of death (but a higher chance of paralysis) as opposed to them all dying because they tried to get to the roof. But they didn't have that information available at the time and probably thought it was less risk and more likely they'd survive without injury if they got to the roof, which in a normal fire they probably would have.

Smoke killed them on the way.
Knowing nips they were probably going in an orderly manner and being slow killed them.

why don't they just jump out of the second story window?

>When a tragedy illustrates that your policies are insufficient to mitigate tragedies, it's time to consider how to amend them.
I don't disagree with that at all. What I disagree with is this insane bloodlust from Mr. Righteous.

The door was locked because of complaints of cigarette litter.

How bad could it be if you can stand up and walk

don't cut yourself on that edge summerfag

Attached: IMG_20190719_164847.jpg (397x364, 19K)

I'm in the US and they just wanted one in my basement near the furnace, not in every room.

Why didn't they just open the windows so the smoke can get out?

I read in multiple threads that Aya Hirano and Sugita were there and some were worried about them. I don't know if they were actually there but Sugita liked something on Twitter a few hours ago. Don't know about Aya or the Hibike VAs.

This is a rumour. Stop repeating uncomfirmed rumours as facts.

Sorry for my ignorance but how many people would have died if the building had a proper fire exit with fire escape stairs? I've read the thread and it sounds like nothing would have made a difference in that pitch black fiery hell.

Building wasn't destroyed

I demand we start tossing windowfags out the window.

Pretty fucking bad

Hirano is in Vegas

>director for k-on among the dead

And nothing of value was lost

If you open a window inside a burning room the fire actually goes ultra apeshit. which is probably why even the survivors have burns on their bodies.

>they passed out before getting there.
Wrong. The majority of the dead made it to the area between the last floor and the roof door and that's where they died (19 dead infront of the door, makes you wonder). Only 12 people were dead on the floors themselves or so I've read.

Sorry, I thought Hatta had said so.

Maybe half a dozen or so.

The biggest life saver would have been compartmentalised floors with fire doors graded to hold fires for 30+ minutes.

Same number. They would have roasted on the fire escape instead

If there is smoke nothing will save you.

There were no seiyuu present in the building. It's just retards starting rumours for no reason.

How many buildings even have fire escape stairs, seriously. I live in a small town in Germany and there's maybe two buildings that have stairs like that

The lucky ones that were already near a window and didn't have to run towards it did.
Smoke killed the unlucky ones.

Why didn't they just teleport outside the building?

Jokes aside how will the business actually recover? I don't know anything about animation studios. Do they have multiple studios or was this one building basically it?

they probably would have made it, just because it would have saved them time.

people from the third floor still died trying to get to the roof, that's how fast the smoke spread.

That's the problem with theorycrafting like this, people repeating rumours. Worse is when stories in article form pick up those rumours.

Chimney effect.
Smoke rises quickly and in a narrow, vertical space like a flight of stairs it's literally just a column of toxic gas filling the lungs of anyone who tries to ascend. They tried to go up to the fire escape and passed out along the way because ascending stairs is cardio-intensive and means you're just pulling all of that smoke into your lungs and killing yourself even faster.

smoke inhalation is much better than burning to death. I feel bad for the survivors.

Anywhere where I can find more photos like this? Liveleak has nothing...

Unlikely. I’d love to see them back though.

>Which part of this is not appropriate?
NYT is fake news, you have to read moon instead

>nothing will save you
people forgetting that more than half survived

>Knowing nips they were probably going in an orderly manner and being slow killed them.
The firefighters found bodies piled on top of each other, indicating mass panic and disorder.

According to nhk, people were trying to get to the windows and open them to get out, but others stopped them saying that will make the fire bigger.

fire doors would do much better.

You don't know that, just like you can't tell that they were there. People are just worried.

>fire chief needs to be fired and possibly prosecuted for criminal neglect
Exactly. But that doesn't mean they also should start an investigation into the posibility of several parties involved in the foul play, not just one perpetrator.

The survivors have burns because they were close enough to the main floor to simply make a break for it through the flames. The fire was centralized to the first few floors.
The majority of casualties were from smoke, because smoke is much, much more dangerous than fire itself in a burning building.

Why didn't they teleport the burning building to space?

yes, they died before making it to the door thank you for confirming my post.

近く isn't "in front" by the way

I'm sure NHK has a direct line to interview the dead.
Stop spreading hearsay.

Chances are that people would die around fire escape or on it considering plenty die trying to get to the windows
Third floor people still die

It probably won't recover but they'll make somewhat of a rebound. They still employ 100 other people so this is a massive hit, but they probably have no choice but to start from step one

Attached: IMG_20190719_041953.jpg (800x587, 164K)

And not a single reply actually refuted it.

Explain to me how many companies like this realistically require a marshal

shouldn't meant to say

There are legitimate reasons leading to the paranoia that they were there, but like anything else there are logical explanations for them that don't indicate that they were actually in there, which they almost certainly weren't.

youtube.com/watch?v=jayFJc1d0fI

Fake news.

imagine the smell

Most probably the ones who got out before everything got smoked.
Well, if there is not so much smoke its going to be ok, but if it knocks you out and hurts your eyes so you can't see then not.

>be fire chief
>make buildings fire safe as is your job
>some retard enters the building with 40 liters of oil, dumps it all out and lits it on fire
>building is set on fire and people die
>WTF the fire chief needs to get fired

Have you ever done a controlled burn of a house?
Because I have. Guess how much fuel we used to light a house on fire?
A couple of liters.

Thank you for answering. So fire doors would be able to save them then? If not, what exactly would have been a way for all of them to survive in that situation?

RBC-chan is easily fooled, carrying the wrong goods around with her to the end.

>lets climb up stairs

>Floor is on fire, doors are on fire
Can't read for shit.

Why don't they just jump over the roof like all normal people can do?

Attached: maxresdefault (10).jpg (1280x720, 77K)

I don't think many people realize how much smoke there actually was.

They have other offices, but something like 25% of their employees died and another 25% are injured, possibly severely. On top of all the people they lost, they also lost all the work that was stored in the building. It's going to be very difficult for them.

Oh jesus that sounds terrible for everyone involved

Attached: 1413423534452.png (169x168, 53K)

>19 dead infront of the door, makes you wonder
Why are you still fucking wondering?

There's pretty much nothing to recover (other than the health of those who were injured). They will need to start from scratch.

wtf, jumping from the second floor is absolutely nothing, they make it sound like it's life and death jump

They have a couple others, including Animation Do in Osaka. They need leadership from the surviving directors taking up the reigns to carry the company.

The area they were in when going to the door is exactly near, you could say "next" to the door. So they made it to the area they were aiming for and it's suspicious some of them didn't make it to the door itself. Several news info says literally "they couldn't open the door" so stop treating it as an open and shit case because this part does not make sense. If it was only 5 dead at the top it would be understandable. If the 19 dead were scattered and not on one place it would also make sense. But right at their destination and so many makes no sense.

The CEO confirmed the fire destroyed virtually all of the company's materials so this is basically a square one start for them. There's very little chance of the company making a recovery from here.

What's likely to happen is that the related parties will take the insurance money and run and maybe there'll be a new studio to replace it someday, but probably not.

>assuming Megumi Ohno is on missing list (I think she is)
>15 20s persons are died
>11 30s persons are died
>6 40s persons are died
>60s person is died
>Kigami was 60s years old, so he's included in the list.
>Yamada is confirmed safe.
>Ishidate is 40 years old based on Japanese age system, so he could be one of the victims.
>Ishihara is 53 years old this year, so he's obviously alive.
>Takemoto is sadly 47 years old this year, so he could be one of the victims.
Fuck. This is so depressing, lads.

Fire doors, an external staircase and removing the spiral staircase would have saved lives, yes. Fire doors alone would buy them a lot more time at the very least.

The only way for them all to survive is if they’d been able to stop the killer.

based

So what story did Kyoani plagiarized, anyone know?

>The CEO confirmed the fire destroyed virtually all of the company's materials
That's a mistranslation. He said everything in the building is lost, which should make sense because they have other offices.

Is he among the survivors? Did he get amputated? Or was he...?

Attached: 46190.jpg (225x349, 29K)

Someone else confirmed that there were off site back ups of the VEG movie with their partners in Tokyo.

8 did and broke bones 10 climbed down a pipe LOL??

Get one if you still don't have, user. You need to take care of your lives.

Have you ever been at an indoor/outdoor pool and jumped from a 10m board?

Now imagine doing that but without water

Stop the fat fuck before he got inside

If they didn't confirm their safety by now in social media they are most likely one of the dead.

Japan's floors are smaller than euro or mutti. I have jumped from my 3rd floor balcony and window bunch of times no problem. We used to jump from high places all the times as kids. Even jumped from bridge on grass once when i was drunk and only hurt my ankle a bit because i didn't land properly. It was a 12+ meter fall. Anyway, point being, 2nd and 3rd floor jumps are perfectly safe so long as you're not morbidly obese or old and have weak bones, and obviously if you don't land on your head or back.

Not everyone would be saved, since you only have less than 3 minutes to run away before getting fried by blaze. However it'd not be this devastated, I reckon.

>women afraid to jump
>would rather burn to death

>Survivors will suffer through PTSD the rest of their lives. Many of them also badly burned or injured which includes most of their directors
>Employees that worked at other buildings will likely shuttle off to other anime studios or retire from the industry
Doesn't look good.

Agreed, I'll be more careful with what I say

>The only way for them all to survive is if they’d been able to stop the killer.
Or if they had proper building security. From what I understand they had a keycard reader to get into the building but it was disabled for guests. If that included a buzzer and a camera then they wouldn't have had to disable it and could just buzz guests in instead. That way they'd just have to not open the door when the guy with a bucket of gasoline shows up.

Jumping from 2nd floor maybe and having easy access to windows maybe? Having outside emergency stairs like on some old buildings.
There are too many variables so only someone who will do investigation can tell you.

I, of course, believe everything you say. You definitely jumped from a height of 12+m and made it out without any injuries

He's dead, Jim.

20s persons are died
30s persons are died
So many poor young people suffering because of a nutjob going muh OC Donut Steel.

These precautions would have dramatically reduced the number of casualties, yes.
Fire doors not only hold back the spread of fire but also limit the amount of smoke coming in, which is the serious aspect. If you're behind a fire door you can wait for rescue instead of being forced to suicide dash up a stairwell.

The casualties in the building were so high because:
Victims had no choice but to evacuate
There were no safe escape routes

The former is the fault of the lack of fire doors, the latter is the fault of Japan's fire safety protocols which left victims with two choices: barrel downstairs and charge through raging gasoline flames or run upstairs through a chimney of carbon monoxide and hope you reach the roof before dying.

Many of the survivors literally jumped from windows because it was the safest option. That's how you know the fire safety regulations in play were untenable.

Anewspaper comment from President Hatta ending with this statement

>"I don't want the titles we preciously created to go to waste due to this incident. While we can't predict what will happen, everyone left wants to do their best for the staff members who passed away"

Kyoani is not kill

>retards start cheering
Anglos are the cancer of the world.

It would have bought enough time for a fair number to get to the roof, at the very least.

Motive?

Honestly if they had guns in Japan somebody could have just shot the fucker

They died, and I liked it.
Wtf are you gonna do, Yea Forums?

Stealing is bad, user.
You can't build happiness based on other person's grief.

>I have jumped from my 3rd floor balcony and window bunch of times no problem.
user, the LD50, as in when 50% of the people die from something, is four stories. You are full of shit or retarded, possibly both.

Read the fucking wikipedia page or something

The surface tension of water makes the actual impact comparable to hitting cement

That's the most haunting image from all this.

>barrel downstairs and charge through raging gasoline flames or run upstairs through a chimney of carbon monoxide and hope you reach the roof before dying.
It's pretty sad how unintuitive the choice between the two is. Going down past the flames is often the better bet.

Whilst KyoAni has lost irreplaceable personal and physical materials, they still have their intellectual properties, merchandising and business connections.

You may see some projects delayed or dropped in the short-term and possibly outsourcing of work to other domestic or foreign studios. One of KyoAni's unique operations was keeping production in house but they may have to do what a lot of other studios do and outsource work but in their case not for cost effectiveness and more to do with they have had a major talent and staff reduction.

Long-term I feel KyoAni can rebuild but right now and in the immediate future they will have to run lean and it will be tough.

It's getting grimmer and grimmer. If he had survived and is in critical condition, you'd think he'd be among the first ones to be confirmed.

You are fucking retarded, people do this all the time in a fire, they can't open the doors due to panic or because they can't simply see the lock

Why the FUCK do you think emergency doors are opened with only pushing a big ass bar in the front?

>"I don't want the titles we preciously created to go to waste due to this incident. While we can't predict what will happen, everyone left wants to do their best for the staff members who passed away"
You can do it, kyoAni. You definitely can do it.

Any updates?

Tell your mom to ground you.

Once the fire hits the flashpoint the ambient heat on the main floor will literally cook you alive. You wouldn't have time to make a dash through the flames themselves. You probably wouldn't even make it to the flames before losing consciousness. There was no correct choice here except to hurl yourself out a window and pray, which itself is utterly appalling.

A hero.

>The only way for them all to survive is if they’d been able to stop the killer.
so if japan allowed guns?

Sure thing, Kobe. These are hobbits we're talking about.

What am I supposed to be seeing in that image?

The fuck

Attached: 1549621758841.png (771x366, 63K)

I doubt it, and I say this as a gun loving American. All he had to do was tip over the 10 gallon bucket of gasoline and light it. That takes 2 seconds. Maybe 4 seconds tops. The only way you'd be able to stop him is if you had precognition and knew he was carting in gasoline or some other accelerant so you could shoot him as soon as he walked in the door, and even then most gunshot wounds are not immediately fatal so he might have burned the building down anyway.

12 meters is a 5th floor. No way you walked away from that only with a sprained ankle.

COME BACK

Fuck man.

Does anyone have a translation of the press conference?

And that 'fucker' would have just used a gun to kill the victimes instead of gasoline.

Neck yourself, Americunt.

Character development happened.

That vaguely human shape in the red circle is a victim's charred, blackened corpse burned alive at their desk. Whoever it was realized they had no hope of escape and simply gave up, probably sitting there until smoke inhalation knocked them out.

you have it inside you but white

Wait what? Please let this real

Obviously full of shit

These are just retard amerimutt armchair specialists. Always looking to blame everyone except the perp. Yeah, no shit, in hindsight you could have improved some things but these incidents are rare as fuck and it's unlikely Japan is going to spend billions restructuring their entire country to make it safer against homicidal arsonists. America hasn't done much to make their schools safer despite dozens of school shootings.

It's just a door that you can open from one side even when it's locked in order to prevent having someone stuck on the roof.

Someone fill me in, who is this?

They died before reaching the roof, user.

The arsonist

The culprit in his younger days.

Yeah, I think a lot of people don't realize just how mind-bogglingly insanely hot a fire like this gets. I drove past a car fire along the road with my windows down at 60mph and it still felt like it could burn me from 50 feet away.

youtube.com/watch?v=BtMmymOxdjc

Pay attention to how the fire works. Specially at 2:35.

When the flash fire happens every single thing inside is instantly fucked.
Now add to that the lung killing smoke, the flammable chemicals, invisible carbon monoxide... It's fucking hell.

>that fucking death pile on the uppermost stairs
Fucking hell.

Worth noting that anybody who didn't make it to the exit would have simply collapsed on the stairs, and their body would have become a barrier for anyone else trying to get to the roof.
Once enough bodies pile up there's 0 chance of anybody making it through to the door, and there's a good chance many of the victims stopped to try and help those who had collapsed not realizing they were about to pass out of CO poisoning too.

Soon

Attached: diediedie.png (860x1240, 365K)

But didn’t the press say that there were bodies behind the roof door?

So fucked up, building with the worst design ever

We didn't get one today.

>Why didn't they just shoot the fire out? Why didn't they just shoot the roof door open? Why didn't they shoot the windows open, then jump out and shoot at the ground to slow their fall?

>1 person died in the sound recording room
uh oh

America pls.
If they had guns in Japan this would have been a shooting instead of an arson.

No. Not him.

They just had to take away on of their best, did they? If not their best director.

Do we have a list of the dead and injured yet?

I refuse to believe that. This image is too blurry. It could be anything.

The suffocation caused by smoke inhalation and oxygen depletion would have killed the mass of people on the 2nd and 3rd floors rather than being burnt to death. At the very least it is a less painful way to die.

Death is too good for someone like him.

Or the fucker would've shot them from a distance instead of dousing the people exiting with gasoline.

One or the other.

fuck, at first i thought this was only going to be a meme about some kyoani merchandise shop burning and it ended like this

There was none. The sticky got rused into watching some nip comedian admit to get some underage idol poon with the yazuka

NHK just read a statement by Shochiku, Inc, who is the distributor for Violet Evergarden 2020. Shochiku states they will be retaining the original release date for the film, however are prepared to delay it at KyoAni's request. They stated that animation work was largely complete, and is in post production and editing at this time, and the materials for the film were not located at Studio 1, but with the CGI and Effects studio KyoAni works with in Tokyo.
They also reiterated that Free! 2020 is also set to release as planned, due to work being done by Animation Do in Osaka.

APPARENTLY, Studio 1 was mostly for new pre production material. VEG should have been mostly done and could yet see release if this is true.

The roof door was unlocked based on the firefighter. So they died weither because of the radiation wave or CO intoxication.

Americans aren't going to change their gun laws because they're way past living in a country that they trust.

And how could you blame them? They got millions of unvetted illegals from extremely violent countries just pouring in, and will probably be given blanket amnesty some day. I wouldn't trust any society that allows this to happen, with providing me security

Reminds me of what happened to Chris-chan.

Who's the charred seiyuu in the recording room?

I didn't save it, but I saw a version of it with the contrast turned up and it looks much less like a person and more like a collection of unconnected objects lying in a vaguely human shape.

Unfortunately the state doesn't allow torture, all I can hope is he goes out at the hands of one of the grieving family members or a fan.

>What was known was that almost two-thirds of them — 20 — were women.

That appears to reflect a trend in Japan’s animation industry, as well as the hiring practices at Kyoto Animation. There are about twice as many women as men among working animators in their 20s, according to Daisuke Okeda, a lawyer and adviser to the Japanese Animation Creators Association.

Male animators still lead the industry, and they outnumber women among animators over 35, Mr. Okeda said. But Kyoto Animation — known as KyoAni to its fans — is known for employing more women, particularly younger women.

How much is $1,745,000?
Does anyone know the average costs of making an anime

Last I checked it was in two 5L buckets that he took from the 40L he had in total, not 10 gallon, that would be ~37L.

That was funny to be fair. The thread went fully cunny

They all need to be identified first. And one person was so charred, they couldn't tell their sex.

So 11 died for the windows?

Stop this meme, this is not 9/11

Hopefully his crispy 3rd degree burn legs get an infection and he dies in a more painful way.

There's rumors that some of the Hibike! seiyuus were in the building that day. Nothing is confirmed though

he's going to expire in his comfy hospital bed

>How much is $1,745,000?
$1,745,000.

Nigga, grab an umbrella and Mary Poppins that shit! I'd rather be a paraplegic than burn to death.

I bet a new season of euphonium was being made in studio 1 and is now probably never coming out

So they were currently doing something else. Something tells me that the interview was supposed to be about the new project and let's hope it's not introducing the seiyuu for the main characters because it'd be absolute devastating.

It was about $2M for 26 episodes back in 2011.

How many have been confirmed dead? Last read it was over 30. I hope this guy gets tortured for life.

Door wouldn't have saved them anyway. The smoke was so thick that if even if they had made it up to the roof, they would have suffocated before anyone got them down anyway.

There is significant circumstantial evidence to justify the paranoia that they were, but in reality they, more than likely weren't there at all and are only radio silent out of grief and respect for the dead.

I woke up and the sticky was gone, well done you piece of shits, now can someone give me the updates of the last 8 hours please.

>"We had to amputate because of the burns."

>they totally didn't

yeah here:

No, it's too painless for that fucking faggot. I want to see him die in more painful way than that.

After they've fully confirmed all. Apparently DNA testing would take a week.

At the time when they stopped searching inside the building they reported 33 dead and 10 in critical condition, several hours later it went down to 4 in critical and then one of those 4 died.

STOP

Don't believe anyone tossing around names, especially for people in their 20's and 30's. The fact of the matter is that we know all of jack shit. They're not gonna release names before they do testing on all the bodies and inform families.

Here Mind the speculations, but the police released the age of the victims.

Amputate both arms and legs and keep him alive tied to a bed until he dies of old age

The issue is that it's easy to tell that jumping from a 3 story building will cause serious injury and may potentially be fatal. But it's not intuitive at all that attempting to climb a stairwell WILL kill you without a single shred of a double due to invisible toxic gasses.

Ascending the stairwell was part of the building's fire safety evacuation plan, meaning everyone in the building was under the false impression that it was both the correct and the safest way to exit the building. In reality it was probably the least safe. This is why people are talking about the casualties being preventable. More than half of the deaths resulted from people following a fire escape plan that increased their mortality rate from ~35% to 100%. Ironically the few survivors from the 3rd floor survived because they disregarded the fire safety procedure and jumped. Many of the survivors from the second floor either also jumped, or simply braved the flames and were fortunate enough to get out before the flashpoint.

NHK published an article today with the headline "アニメ会社放火 「けがするか 死ぬかの選択」避難男性が証言", about how a background animator had to make the decision to jump from the second story veranda amidst blinding and suffocating smoke and his coworkers' screams for help.

I haven't cried actual tears to this yet but every time I think about it I've been depressed as fuck. Man life really isn't fair sometimes.

no. NOOOOOO

Police ain't gonna disclose this information. Neither will hospitals. It's highly unlikely KyoAni would do it, too.

Ok that's pretty cool good for him.

How fire doors would have worked here? Unless all the material was magically resistant to fire, they were pretty much doomed.

This honesty looks like he had a bad childhood. Too bad that faggot family ran away so we couldn't know what the fuck is going on with that family.
The family is hiding because masses came to his family after this incident.

>wanting harm to come to a stranger that did nothing bad to you
What a psycho.

Every time a name is thrown around part of me dies inside I just decided to watch Hibike in honor of this whole incident and I already knew her from bandori if this turns out to be true I'm not sure I can finish

If they can keep original release date, then I could flight to visit at kyoani studio 1 and watch the movie directly. If not then I still go to there either

The charred remains of kyoani employees.

Why are you blaming the family?

>19 people in that tiny ass roof exit

isnt that just the black spots though?

those are the arsonist's foot prints by the way

How come we yet to get full list of deceased or injured unlike NZ mosque attack that being released like 1-2 days?

If this doesn't convince you to not go up I don't know what will

Nigga, we were just jumping for fun with my buddy and running right back up to jump down again. There's something called adrenaline rush. Shit feels good.
The average height for men in my country is over 180cm. Japanese may as well be hobbits to us. When I see white american tourists here they're like completely different race. Grotesque, short and fat.
I should have mentioned I did it during my parkour phase which is why I decided to jump instead of walking down the stairs. Also, like I mentioned, it was grass down below and soft ground, which eased the fall. The fall itself didn't hurt at all. Only noticed later my ankle was hurting a bit like when you trip and land awkwardly.

I just said that based on the picture, he seemed to have a bad childhood. That's why I'm questioning what the fuck is going on with his family.

Have you ever pushed open a fire door? They're partially airtight. Fire has difficulty spreading where there's no oxygen to fuel it, which causes the fire to take a very long time to cross past a fire door, and means there's little to no smoke coming through.

You don't need to wait very long for the fire department to arrive and begin safely evacuating people and getting the fire under control. With a fire door your room has about 30 minutes. Without a fire door you have at most 3. Most of the casualties in this tragedy were the result of people attempting to evacuate through unsafe routes because they had no other option. Fire doors would have seriously mitigated this.

In all likelihood Tomoyo is *probably* fine, fans were just panicking and throwing around rumors because she went radio silent on twitter the last few days. Understandable, if a bunch of your colleagues just got fried.

>implying he was the only one to get out on fire

Because the family has a huge influence on how he turned into such a sociopath.
Best cull them all and reduce the risk of them producing something similar.

I agree for the 3rd floor, but in 2nd floor, some grandma saw people screaming for help while getting burned by the fire.

It’s easy to identify people when they don’t look like human shaped brisket.

I can't take my mind off them. Consciously I realise that the chances of them even being in there are remote as fuck, but emotionally I can't stop worrying about them. I just want one to break radio silence in some way.

>Also, like I mentioned, it was grass down below and soft groun
user, it was fucking concrete outside the windows of the studio. Please go jump from a third story building onto concrete and let us know how it goes.

Targeting a criminal's family is always some short-sighted retaliation stupid shit.

Unless it's the family of one of those cunts from the Cement Girl incident. The mother of one of the convicted boys actively harasses the victim's family to this day. Threatening phone calls, screaming abuse at them in public and she has even destroyed the dead girl's grave more than once. All because she thinks it's the murder victim's fault that her son went to prison (and already is out).

I didn't imply that and those are literally his prints

In Japan, they've got to get doctors to identify the victims.

Under normal circumstances it's in poor taste to name casualties without the consent of the bereaved families. News outlets in the US and Commonwealth do so anyways because the topic is politically charged and fanning the flames of racewar is the only way they can still bait idiots into clicking their garbage articles. They get away with it because nobody listens to black and muslim families when they cry out over their loved ones being co-opted by CNN for clickbait.

Incomplete bodies.

Someone needs to kill her really at this point, and her son.

Rough translation of the article was reposted here

True. It's kinda morbid but could always hope the intense heat killed them before the actual flames. Slightly less of a shit way to go.

Ok, but where those doors should have been placed in a place like that? The fire didn’t comet from a place to contain easily.

Lol get rekt they got that for stealing

This post actually confirms that you are retarded enough not to take account that the spiral staircase creates an airflow, which is mostly oxygen, from the first floor to the third floor. The fire won't be needing time to actually reach the third floor, it will travels up instantly and engulfs the whole small building in fire.

Believe it or not, but after she become a tranny she's actually started having some structures in her life. Not much, but an improvement.

These are for the victims and their families, not anime, you dum dum.

How about you just google fire doors and do a bit of self-motivated learning today, user?

Does the fire doors also contain CO?

I cried every day since it happened, once at work on Thursday, once at home on Friday and a couple of times today, which were the worst since it finally started to hit me what actually happened, what we lost and the way they went out once the details released. I haven't cried in years, but this finally got to me and it did badly.

Targeting family is perfectly logical following Japanese family values, a childs failure is a reflection on their upbringing, so an adult criminal is raised by bad parents. They brought the criminal into the world and ensured he would have the mental and physical shape to do the crimes.

>she

Don't feed his delusion, user

It's mentioned in the Japanese news that his mom don't want anything to do with him after he got jailed the first time in 2012. I doubt anyone will target her.

KYOANI FINDS A WAY
KYOANI FINDS A WAY
KYOANI FINDS A WAY

If you're going to cry for anything, this is certainly worth it.

>The fire didn’t comet from a place to contain easily.
This is why you see stairwells in the US. They separate the fire and smoke from other floors and the people while they're escaping. The problem Studio 1 had is that their stairs were not firewalled. The smoke just rose up through the hole in the ground from the spiral staircase and filled all the above floors.

They limit the propagation of noxious gasses, yes.
Fire doors are made to make it difficult for air to pass through because fire burns air as fuel. This is what makes them effective at slowing the spread of flames.

Is it still your failure if you're divorced from his other parent and you've effectively disowned him?

for the past 2 days I wake up feeling refreshed, then my brain remembers the events and it subsequently ruins my entire day. fuck.

They weren't outside either user. That was the problem.

Most of them weren't, it's just being respectful to the families of the victims.

>massive panic of people near the fire
>people somewhat further away just keep sitting or standing there, watching and even cheer like it's a controlled bonfire
Yeah, always remember not just that fires can spread extremely fast but also if you're like 200% sure it won't reach you you have to make space for the people that are way too close as early as possible.
Better save and looking like an paranoid idiot than sorry for trapping people by not reacting fast enough.

Is there a compilation/linklist of videos like this one, the station fire and the japanese streamer one that do a good job in teaching people never ever to underestimate fire?

Yikes at the picture. They really only did moeshit. I hope they can manage to return though.

Yes. Some fire doors even have strips the expand under extreme heat, so it blocks fumes from propagating through rooms.

If Japan was a modern country, that shit would be commonplace.

Ironic, if Japan allowed guns, there would have been fewer deaths because the guy would just shoot people instead of arson.

Please be just a retard troll.

I'm sorry, I might be wrong but are you talking about Yasumoto Hiroki? I'm wondering because of the 'fucking homo'.

They say their most experienced animator is dead, so this concern is justified.

You don't get it, they'd survive because they're white manly men instead of puny jap women.

They doidn't make it even to facing that decision.
Smoke and heat piles up on the ceiling, they might have made if it was just a single one at a time running through it without breathing.
As soon as the first person succumbs to the heat, the smoke or just trips because of zero sight, confusion and panic the way is like 85% blocked. The second one stumbling over body nr. 1 and you can forget it.

For what it’s worth he won’t get off easy. Solitary for a decade before being hanged without ever being informed of the execution date until a couple hours before being led to the gallows. Also japanese solitary entails sitting motionless in seiza for ten hours a day only moving to eat and two fifteen minute bathroom breaks. Obviously you can never pay back the hurt that he caused but it’s something.
