There's something about the style of 80s and 90s animes that give me a weird nostalgic feeling even though I never viewed many of them before.

I've been watching Maison Ikkoku, Kimagure Orange road and Touch. All a lot of fun to watch, especially Maison Ikkoku. Best of all, they all have god tier OSTs.

It was the pre-digital era of Anime.

Anime isn't a style

Soul + the softer, more natural colors from painted cels as apposed to digital animation.

I feel that way boy I think it's because those were what was big in anime when I got into anime, even though I saw very few of them. If you got hooked by Toonami early on, Pokemon, etc then your options for more anime were largely 80/90s niche OVAs at blockbuster, and early internet was awash with songs for them because it took years for subs to circulate on VHS.

Its also coupled with the very comfy music genre of "City Pop"

I remember reading something about the C/FO (Cartoon/Fantasy Oranization) way back in the mid-1980s, they did a lot to bring Anime to America. Back when people watched over-the-air anime, native, and were grateful.

I came into it when my Uni started an anime club in the early 1990s. I knew fansubbers who fed laserdiscs through a Commodore Amiga and genlock out to VHS.

Good times

Here, have another

Though I got to admit those two-second loops of old anime gets old fast

Also, for as much as people like to give Carl "The Butcher" Macek grief; Robotech was light years better than the "lasers and parachutes" of G.I. Joe

I genuinely wish Copcraft were produced in a facsimile of this style. City Pop too.

The absolute state of Yea Forums in 2019.

Everything in 80s and 90s had soul. It's not exclusive to anime

80s anime without city pop is like a day without sunshine

I like old animes too.

Sauce?

Maison Ikkoku is incredibly comfy, its long but it never seems like a slog

Touch is kinda heavy in parts and not too fond of the plot, which is "stately" (nice of saying its a slog)

Kimagure Orange Road has a primo OST, its got quite a lot of City Pop in it

You're welcome

Excuse me, but it's called Japanimation.

back to youtube you fucking underage. You can't have nostalgia for a time you weren't alive, and your shittypopposting is evidence of that.

It’s probably the colour pallets that were popular then. It was warm

Every frame of cel animation is a literal painting. Let that sink in.

>Touch is kinda heavy in parts
This is the only reason I haven't finished it yet. I'm stuck on some arc where the coach was replaced by this asshole and it's just incredibly boring. I'm not watching the show for this, I'm watching for the romance and a some baseball on the side.
>Kimagure Orange Road OST
I'm gonna be listening to only KOR OST for another week, aren't I...

>Maison Ikkoku is incredibly comfy, its long but it never seems like a slog
I feel it has a couple episodes that I can tell are obviously filler, but even those are still good. The episode where Kyoko finds her old highschool uniform and gets caught trying it out so everyone else cosplays various other uniforms while getting wasted was hilarious.

Fancy Lala. A cute magical idol show that suddenly went LOL DINOSAURS at the end.

this is good shit

You mean cel animation?

You're in luck, that style is gonna come back now with KyoAni burning.

There is obviously common traits in an anime style when compared to the average one of the same time period you pedantic retard.
