Mirio could theoretically phase his skeleton, veins and organs out, but keep the rest of his body. Which would make him capable of tanking far more, a stab wouldn't do much other than hurt the actual flesh and muscles, etc. Would still be really hurt afterwards, but the organs would be just fine.
