The same can be argued for donations as well, I personally know some people have already donated just out of spite towards someone else because they didn't donate, and they wanted to feel some sort of moral superiority. The only difference between a donation and a drawing is that a donation is more useful, so no matter what the intention behind that cash, Kyoani will have some use for it one way or another.
