Do people really still believe in Psuh of Contents?
Do people really believe that Black Clover, Dr. Stone and Chaisnaw Man more popular than Haikyuu?
I'm not saying that these series will be canceled, but celebrating first places nowadays doesn't make sense anymore. I bet my ass Act-Age will be there next week.
Jason James
Disagree Kekkai Sensen is actually good
Jayden Morgan
regardless of success its premise is extremely similar and it's suspicious Yasuhiro Nightow is also one of the mangaka inspiration
I only watched the Kekkai Sensen anime but it was enjoyable enough for me to finish it. Meanwhile nothing about Shinobi grabbed me.
Cameron Flores
>11 [ 67 ] Act-Age Fucking live, goddamit!
Luke Ross
>Do people really believe that Black Clover, Dr. Stone and Chaisnaw Man more popular than Haikyuu? No, but we know that Jump wants to promote those series.
Luke Ramirez
celebrating 1st places for a new series is meaningful since it gives you a little certainty about a series' future, if it gets 1st place it means it's promising for either the fans or the editors, of course for OP or Fujo Volley is meaningless since they are already established series, but for something like Act Age is huge since for all we know it could end in 5 weeks, it also gives more exposure by the simple fact of being the first pages of the magazine, exposure that One Piece doesn't need but is gold for newcomers
Brayden Sanchez
While Saigo isn't doing well, I really hope that the author gets another chance down the line. There are bits that I've rather liked in his story, and if he was able to learn from this experience to further refine his work something promising could come out of it.
Blake Reed
Maybe, the current arc is utter shit.
Colton Adams
the formula is similar too they introduced the squad member and their powers 1 by 1 first it was lighting guy then tiger guy now stitching lady
in kekkai sensen anime they rush through these things and did them in 1 episode so it isn't as obvious
Evan Carter
>Lead CP: Samurai 8 >Kishi-sama pls writes some more, I will hide all the bad rankings with your CPs!!!!
Jack Rodriguez
>the current arc is utter shit Why, is the sheer density of autism too much for you?
>autism I wish. It's just plain delusional. The writer character is ultra dumb and she pumps delusions into Yonagi's head. Yonagi is so dumb that she believes in everything that amateur said. The limited writing is such a let down, the author can't even write a training mini-arc, characters are just randomly get good. Basically a boring arc with shonen cliche, if anything, I hope they lose hard to the other team.
Noah Reed
Well, it's actually getting close to clover now. Give it an actually decent studio and it'll smash it.
Cameron Wright
what an enormous bunch of fucking failures, how pathetic
Ayden Campbell
was clover always that high up? I dropped in the touranment arc because I wanted to binge it later. I dont remember it being top5 material either.
Blake Evans
Kinda, the problem is that the sales have been kind of tanking for a few volumes. Someone has the chart somewhere.
Aiden Allen
Do we at least get a page of the wedding?
Caleb Jackson
It's chuuni as fuck, but Yonagi method acting by incorporating the make-believe instead of things she's experienced before seems somewhat legit. Of course I don't know a thing about what professional actors actually do to hone their craft so it's good enough for me.
>you need to sell volumes if you want the GIGA treatment I don't know what's the criteria for getting a GIGA epilogue but I highly doubt volume sales are one of them.
Someone explain to me how the rankings work again What determines them
Jaxson Bailey
no they didn't Higuma was a miniseries from GIGA that flopped horribly hey knew there was a huge chance it would flop in WSJ too

Christian Campbell
>Lead CP: Samurai 8 PUUUUUUUUSH
Camden Johnson
I think it's more like they won't have a giant block of all the battle manga at the top rather than two together.
Connor Phillips
22 people
Kevin Robinson
Well for starters it's tremendously generic. Premise is boring. Mc is annoying. Etc.
Mason Long
Jujutsu and Chainsaw are demon slaying manga that even has similar kind of demons and they have appeared next to another a bunch of times.
Isaiah Robinson
They do that all the time Only Dr. Stone isn't a battle manga
>One Piece (Cover, Lead CP) >Jujutsu Kaisen >Black Clover >Kimetsu no Yaiba >Dr. Stone >Rorona Zoro Umi ni Chiru (CP, One Shot) >Boku no Hero Academia
Christopher Reed
Well this is embarrasing.
Nathan Baker
Its not even selling what MHA S1's boost sold
Easton Reyes
I guess we won't be getting that Act-Age anime anytime soon considering today's news. ;_;
Nathan Williams
They're lying My Hero and Black Clover are side by side very often
Alexander Lee
CSM is not strictly a battle shonen imo. It's more like character driven comfy manga. The battles are just a bonus.
Daniel Foster
>Dr Stone as a buffer >Zoro one-shot as a buffer >Hinomaru as a buffer >Samurai 8 not being super-pushed this week
You can see they've at least tried not to have the entire first half of the magazine be battle series.
Nathan Morales
>comfy manga
Aki begs to differ.
Eli Ramirez
It sold less than Chainsawman vol 1 in the 1st week
Michael Rodriguez
How long before Hunter x Hunter returns and saves the magazine?
Grayson Gonzalez
>not being super-pushed this week It should be together with the other new shitters, so it's still super pushed.
Ethan Nelson
Sadly Fumino takes Reiji down with her Those 1k lost votes are just the beginning of the end
Thomas Stewart
It makes me wonder what their definition of "genre" is because it's not uncommon to see one battle shonen right after another on the list.
Brayden Robinson
>Zoro one-shot as a buffer This is still the same genre
Josiah Reyes
Why? it's increasing. Slow but steady.
Jason Brown
>Hunter x Hunter returns Next year >and saves the magazine Never
Nathan Rivera
I don't know enough about studios to pick out a good one for Act-Age.
Angel Ramirez
Off-topic. How's Fire Force sales? Would like to see it to make a comparison to Dr. Stone.
Josiah Kelly
we sell better than any other series in wsj
Logan Ross
one piece
Matthew Jenkins
Worse
Ian Long
Well if you read/watch stuff without using your brain then even moeshits can be good. The popular the manga is, the higher the standard for its writing. Chiyoko is the only one using method acting in this arc, Yonagi is just delusion in her own world.
Anthony Rodriguez
WE R- but bro, we always rise?
Ryder James
>The popular the manga is, the higher the standard for it's writing Really? In the same magazine as One Piece, My Hero and Black Clover?
>threshold is at 10,000 for no reason >thus missing results of polls will big turnouts >negating to even put what position the character was at during thus poll >doesn't even include the first PoT poll which had Echizen at over 21k votes
Its funny because Mafuyu's being popular is worthless given how niche Bokuben is to begin with if there was a favorite Jump heroine poll she wouldn't even make the top 30.
>Isnt this the only thing that make sense in that chart? That's what makes it completely worthless especially sense it doesn't account for every poll made in the magazine just the one's that had a character with a turnout above 10k.
I can't see beast children but only HQ author said anything about Hinomaru ending
Joshua Reed
Why would that make it worthless? The purpose isn't to account for every poll in the magazine, just individual character vote counts
Isaac Green
I'm hoping they give at least 1 out of the 5 soon to be axed series a chance to improve Kimetsu was low in its first chapters and it's one of the better series now
Eli Wilson
Chad is really not a good character. Should have written the Takemitsu guy or someone else in his place
>but the fact that she got that many votes in a niche manga true too She got that many votes because Bokuben doesn't have that many characters. OP has the record for a poll with the most votes accumulated but only three characters has had votes that went above 10k due to the huge amount of characters that made it in.
Asher Gutierrez
>That's what makes it completely worthless Why?
Hunter Gray
>Why would that make it worthless? Because it doesn't take into account what voting methods was used, what rank the character was it and what poll is being weighted. Take Chrome here she got so many votes is because the 7th Reborn poll separated votes between male and female characters.
Parker Scott
I would think that yui kamio could survive if shinobi squad doesnt get better ranks
Cooper Evans
But seriously, how did Bokuben get this many votes? It really isn't that popular.
Hudson Gray
see
Camden Powell
>ranks 8th
Ethan Smith
>every poll made in the magazine Do you want only one character per series, with all series in? Has your favourite series been left out and you're salty now?
Dominic Baker
He's taken out other poll results that don't fit the standard format, so just suggest that he keep doing so. It's not that hard
Blake Young
Then the problem is not the 10k limit though
Josiah Hall
>Pointing out the flaws i your shitty poll means he's salty
It doesn't help your case that the first draft of this poll was the most retarded shit imaginable.
Luke Taylor
The votes were poorly distributed. Imagine if Luffy was the only popular and beloved character in One Piece.
>He's taken out other poll results that don't fit the standard format No he didn't since most of those polls have different methods. The Heroaca poll allowed for multiple votes while the DBZ poll didn't .
Austin Thompson
Of course that's the problem because its negating polls with higher turnouts.
Jaxson Torres
I didn't say he got all of them, quit bitching at me and do something useful already
Nolan James
The Bokuben poll over averaged to 25k votes. In comparison the Heroaca poll had over 80k votes.
Anthony Bell
Then stop posting that worthless poll
Liam Wood
There is only one interesting character in the story The manga itself isn't that popular otherwise
Brandon Clark
I'm not posting it you fucking retard
Adam Bell
Your baits are getting poorer.
Connor Sanders
What are you talking about, the chart is already useless because it assumes every vote and every poll is equal. Making the list longer is the only way to get any actual sense of anything, like what is the average amount of votes for a first place character in a manga that is popular enough to get a poll in the first place? It needs more details on what polls these were and at what point in the manga they took place to be useful.
Jeremiah Hughes
They only made these polls only to make Mafuyu seem lie the most popular Jump heroine because waifufags stuffed the ballots. In the context of everything its not a big deal since the series isn't even popular.
Jack Adams
That's only if you actually want to get further context, it's like saying if someone made a chart of some kind of sportsball final scores, that they'd have to include who was on each team. Just cite the polls and that would be enough
Gabriel Campbell
You're just a retard, no one is trying to pretend she's the most popular jump heroine. She's just absurdly popular relative to the popularity of her series, and that's the notable part. Show me any other character, male or female, that gets over 50% of the votes in a popularity poll
Adrian Murphy
I mean getting an average for all the polls or the % of the total in the one it did best could be more useful but i think the point of that list is just a simple "that character was able get that many votes"
Nicholas Smith
>She's just absurdly popular relative to the popularity of her series, and that's the notable part Not really when its Bokuben.
Brayden Martinez
>that character was able get that many votes" Then why exclude online polls then?
Henry Morris
Because they're unfair, obviously.
Cameron Powell
Because those ones actually dont mean shit
Lucas Wilson
>Because they're unfair You do realize ballot stuffing is a thing right?
Benjamin Howard
Ballot stuffing is more legitimate when the criteria is having to pay for a copy of the magazine. It's more like 1 copy=1 vote rather than 1 person=1 vote
Isaac Barnes
>Ballot stuffing is more legitimate when the criteria is having to pay for a copy of the magazine You're a fucking idiot.
Jackson Jenkins
>Ballot stuffing is more legitimate when the criteria is having to pay for a copy of the magazine
>Ballot stuffing is more legitimate when the criteria is having to pay for a copy of the magazine. Here's how stupid you are.
1- Jump has gone through several measures to prevent that shit from happening or to qwell it considerable
2- Kids vote in these polls who aren't going to find the resources to purchase multiple copies of Jump like adults.
The editorial department knew it was him stuffing votes they just didn't do anything about it because the author liked him.
Levi Moore
Well, the most obvious flaw is it's slanted towards having done zero research. If you knew that the creator went through every popularity poll and then just didn't include everything in the picture and posted the stuff that didn't qualify in a spreadsheet or something, you could at least suspect it was useful. I think it would be far more interesting that some manga got so many votes if you could actually see they were outliers. Did the average amount of votes change from the 80's to the 90's to the 00's to the 10's? That sort of information is actually of value and requires a chart.
Nathaniel Reed
>Yui will survive through pure luck Ahahahaha
Josiah Stewart
Y-san is a legend for a reason user, or you think that guys like him are normal in every poll?
Hudson Turner
>luck >implying this wasn't done on purpose to give more new manga a chance
Samuel Walker
>That sort of information is actually of value and requires a chart. Author here. I'll include the total amount of votes in each poll next time.
Isaac Brown
It's a Villain arc and Nips have shit taste. It's unironically taboo to make the villains characters in their own right; higher ups have been openly expressing concerns.
It was always wrapping up, it wasn't cancelled if that's what you think.
Nicholas Adams
Needed for years for that while KnY still only 3 years old. Wakey Wakey Herofags
Kevin Garcia
mha is only popular because of the westshit
Brayden Hill
>Needed for years for that while KnY still only 3 years old It reached a million sold in 3 years. KnY is 3 years old ans still hasn't reached that milestone. You are retarded.
Checking in on the archives I can't find the links to all of them for now, but to my recent memory there was Araki voicing his concerns, the CEO of CyberConnect (translation pictured) and about two other CEO's coming out publicly to express taboo on twitter. Going off how sympathetic Hori makes Shigaraki next chapter as he kills his family as a kid, there might be more people coming out against the current arc. The arc isn't as much 'unpopular' as much as it is 'controversial'
>consistantly one of Jumps best sellers, usually at least in the Top 5 in Volume sales Sure, whatever your say. Quick reminder that hating things that are popular doesn't make you cool.
Something being popular does not equate to that thing being good, otherwise Despacito would be the greatest song ever made.
David Collins
>Something being popular does not equate to that thing being good, This is always the fallback argument
Liam Evans
Correct. Likewise, the exact same logic can be applied to the reverse; otherwise the Lord of the Rings would be literary trash and Shawshank Redemption would be one of the worst movies of all time. Nice try, but try to at least follow your own logic. I have no idea what Despacito is, but I'm just going to take your word at face value that it's a popular song.
Oliver Rodriguez
>at least try to follow your own logic Nowhere did I say that popular = bad. I only said that popular does not necessarily = good.
Hunter Cruz
always surprised how popular jujutsu kaisen is despite not seeing it much here is it because scanlation is done by jaimini faggots?
>OPchads win against HxH"""""Chad's""""" again Feels good to be always on the winning side.
Juan Harris
Hunter x Hunter hasnt done anything for the magazine in a decade. Its a non entity. The worst thing is the zoomer new hunterfags which appeared and suck Togashi's dick even though he has fucked his original fandom to oblivion, but its OK after a decade of hiatus maybe you will realise how retarded your post is/was.
Gavin Gutierrez
>It's unironically taboo to make the villains characters in their own right How? Why? That's just good writing?
Robert Bell
Because you can't have little kids symapthizing with the villains to the point they root for them over the heroes, because they do bad stuff.
Ayden Rivera
>even though he has fucked his original fandom to oblivion When, during the second half of GI? Everyone who didn't drop it then is used to wait several months for some chicken scratches.
Oliver Barnes
Reiji is likely the only reason this chapter didn't rank lower.
Bineg a battered wife is pretty much fucking your fanbase to oblivion.
Wyatt Myers
>meal is a handful of rice and some carbs why?
Brayden Lee
>what is Kumagawa?
Luis Thomas
>Yakuza arc was boring >Festival arc was boring >Gentle fight was literally filler >Eri is a walking plot device and sucks the air out of every chapter she's in >7 quirks bullshit >Shiggy's entire arc is pointless as he didn't grow as a character after a moment of clarity and insight, just got stronger I used to love this series but now I only read it out of habit.
Hard to believe it just crossed the 200 chapter mark. Even Toriko went on for twice as long.
Michael Clark
No, that's actually a good thing because children learn that way that evil people who do evil things for evils sake are rare and they should always assume their 'enemy' just wants good things for his friends/family or humanity as a whole as they do but has a different view on things or different methods. There is no 'good' side that always does things perfectly for everyone, either.
It makes them less prone to fall for propaganda and follow rules blindly.
Blake Jenkins
>It makes them less prone to fall for propaganda and follow rules blindly. >japan
Evan Reed
>It makes them less prone to fall for propaganda and follow rules blindly. >Implying that's not the exact concern Nip higher ups have
Juan Moore
Yup. I believe it's because the arcs are shorter, so it gives an impression of being around longer than it is, but the problem is that everything post Kamino is just plain boring and didn't advance the plot that much compared to the events prior to that arc.
You need to divide the total sales by the number of volumes. Of course OP's total sales are higher since it has a fuckton of more volumes, but if you divide the total sales by the number of volumes you realize HxH is selling much higher.
Adam Wood
While I agree with your logic, Bleach was also selling millions but was a regular 10th placer or so in the ToC and it still got axed.
Wyatt Garcia
But Naruto thought me that the Villains are either the coolest guys or hot rabbit women.
Kevin Jenkins
>you realize HxH is selling much higher. >individual volume sales are, at its lowest, 2:1
Dominic Green
You've got a point. But them how did shingeki do it?
Samuel Cruz
Look here it's not about how much it sells but by how much other artists admire it. Yusuke Murata has drawn himself bowing before Togashi. Oda doesn't get that kind of admiration because he's a diamond dozen.
Justin Gutierrez
OP: 380 million at 93 volumes / ~4 million per volume HxH: 72 million at 36 volumes / 2 million per volume
Joshua Young
user, that's sales per volume. OP sells around 10 million volumes a year, with each recent volumes selling over 2 million over the course of said year. HxH sells literally half that.
Hunter Allen
Original OPchads were hunter fans even a decade ago before the 2011 anime. The thing is opchads stopped giving Togashi the benefit of the doubt and moved on with their lives. Unfortunately after the 2011 remake a new wave of zoomer hunterfags appeared whi havent learnt its lesson, which is that its not worth investing yourself in a story which is not going anywhere and the writer doesnt give a shit. Togashi will cash in the 2011 anime remake for the rest of his life and play dragon quest.
William Scott
One Piece's sales are dying anyway. You're just prolonging the inevitable.
Dying sales>>>>>>no chapter released so far in the whole year.
Chase Carter
You wanna get sued? It's Shining Diamond now.
Tyler Nguyen
>Nezuko Ufotable saves anime
Cameron Perez
By the time OP numbers reaches HxH's level, Togashi would already be dead from chronic backache disease.
Charles Powell
>All this backpedaling just because you don't sell as much as fucking One Piece of all series Just accept the loss with grace Hunterfags or are you guys that insecure?
>Nothing. People like you are worse than the most ardent shitposters, because at least there's a sliver of truth in their rants. Denying the series problems is literally delusion.
Anthony Hill
Being delusional is worse than shitposting.
Ethan Jenkins
>but the problem is that everything post Kamino is just plain boring and didn't advance the plot that much compared to the events prior to that arc. Not much happened before Kamino, it was mostly school related arcs. Some retards just have this perception that so much changed in the manga after that arc when in reality they've been reading the series upside down up to this point. As it turns out if all you do is doompost people will less likely take you seriously.
>because at least there's a sliver of truth in their rants Not really hence why they can never make a valid argument >delusional Is this how you cope when people are enjoying and praising a series you don't like is to call them delusional?
Evan Nelson
>Is this how you cope You just responded to that post saying there's no problem at all with the series. So people who have problems with it don't exist at all, because you categorized them as shitposters? How fucking delusional can you be?
Blake Brooks
>You just responded to that post saying there's no problem at all with the series No I responded to a person who wanted to shitpost over the ToC as if that means anything when BC and Dr. Stone have been underperforming in sales for years yet still get high ranks due to PUSH.
>So people who have problems with it don't exist at all, If they exist they wouldn't be in this thread and they surely wouldn't care enough to express it.
>How fucking delusional can you be? I see you're still coping.
Blake Sanchez
Damn, it's like yesterday when neverland was a 30k member. Farewell, Hinomaru.
Jonathan Sanders
>literal ''lalala I can't hear you'' pathetic
Nolan Turner
The only thing garbage is your taste
No you idiot MHA always starts shit by posting MHA trash on bc threads
Henry Price
Nice try retard
William Clark
Why do you assume that people who have problems with the series are trolling it? You're being too defensive over something that's not your family. If people have problems with it, then explain to them why you think it's not, but don't call them shitposters. Because what you're doing is categorizing people: if they like it, they're fans. If they don't like it, they're shitposters. That's pretty fucking delusional of you to do that. >I see you're still coping. user, categorizing people into black and white is one way of coping with people who don't like something you like.
Luis Brown
This changes nothing, though.
Robert Martinez
>Nice try retard
Dilate
Ryan Green
Back to your garbage BC threads with you, you fucking nigger.
Jason Williams
Keep seething because it’s really funny
Charles Gray
Sure buddy. The only one I see seething here is you.
Hunter Wilson
>1 [ 61 ] Jujutsu Kaisen >2 [ 207 ] Black Clover >3 [ 160 ] Kimetsu no Yaiba Nice. All of three have been enjoyable to read lately..
Camden Lewis
>Back to your garbage BC threads with you, you fucking nigger.
>phoneposting Yeah, keep digging that hole, retard.
Elijah King
Damn, I didn't think Chrome was that popular.
Isaac Sanders
>phoneposting >Yeah, keep digging that hole, retard.
Getting btfo by a phoneposter, then resorts calling me a retard kek, ya fuming I can feel it
Ryder Stewart
Gonna miss this once Zumo ends.
Aaron Lee
Please don't compare this to Kekkai Sensen, it's nothing alike.
Luis Scott
Can you stop posting these like they have any credibility. Each manga does their popularity polls different, some do it online, by mail, by surveys. Trying to compare them to each other is straight up foolish.
Anthony Nguyen
But 90% of Naruto's villains had sympathetic backstories, why was that not as controversial?
Michael Carter
But anime has tons of great, sympathetic villains and the idea of redemption of old enemies is downright cliche by this point.
Luis Diaz
>Why do you assume that people who have problems with the series are trolling it? Because they are. Anymore stupid questions?
>If people have problems with it, then explain to them why you think it's not, No give VALID cricitisms to your problems with the series and then people will take you seriously and not call you shitposters. Is it that fucking hard?
>. That's pretty fucking delusional of you to do that.
Still coping I see
>user, categorizing people into black and white is one way of coping with people who don't like something you like. No? But shitting on a series like you're ding is very much is.
Jeremiah White
>But 90% of Naruto's villains had sympathetic backstories, Its not about sympathetic backstories dumbass. The problem with Naruto villians is that 90% was "did nothing wrongs"
Grayson Torres
Pathetic
Owen Hernandez
President of the 30k club 'til the end I see. What dedication.
I see Herocucks are still coping with the fact that their series is a garbage with declining rank, declining sales and noone taking it seriously since O MY 7 QUIRKS.
>but the villains had a sob story so it's good now!!! :(((( Just like Naruto, excessive flashbacks are not good storytelling. Fucking underage retard.
>Wanting TSS to live Didn't know anyone here cared about it. Personally I don't really see the appeal.
Carter Sanders
Samurai 8 being 8th is poetry
Easton Lewis
where are the CPs??
Brayden Morris
TSS could have been at least a decent cyberpunk-ish action series, but it's so fucking incompetent.
>whole room full of armed guards there to stop intruders >hey let's let this little kid walk right past us and start using the computer
How does shit like this get published?
Eli Torres
It's not as much the 'redemption', since redemption implies that they understand they're wrong and are turning to the 'good side'. The entire current arc so far has made 4 of the remaining 6 members of the 'core' LoV all sympathetic victims of circumstance and not that they've chosen their path. What's more, 3 of those are as a result of the government/ society itself failing them (the 4th not being fleshed out enough, so we're not sure). If it weren't for the fact that they're fighting another group of Villains (regardless that other group having an objectively more noble, righteous goal) the arc could easily be painted as anti-government propaganda to those reading between the lines as oppose to making us understand the villains motives (like the way it would be seen in the West/ the rest of the world).
Hello boomer, it's cool. I want it to survive just for that, unlike the other series that feel like 30-40 year outdated storytelling this one actually feels like something for the modern youth.
Matthew Myers
Yeah you have a shit taste, we get it
Kevin Taylor
It's just villain focused because no one gives a shit about the heroes anymore. Hori doesn't care about consistency either forgetting important stuff and giving everyone powerboosts so he doesn't have to remember what their limitations are.
Nathan Richardson
Have you seen our threads? We can’t even handle the shitposters we have
>and giving everyone powerboosts Literally the only way any member of the LoV has changed their 'power'/quirk is that Shigs can disintegrate with his feet now. Read slower you absolute retard, unless you aren't reading at all and are just coming up with excuses to shit on it.
>we (You)
Ian Williams
The younger generation can decide what they like, shit like TSS and Ne0lation just feels like a forced attempt at being contemporary >hey fellow kids isn't technology cool
