that’s brown hair. it looks great because it appears rich and soft. there are much darker shades of so-called black hair that can either give off a slight bluish tint (raven black) or just a regular silvery reflection. some people like those but they’re not really my thing

it’s up to personal preference yeah, i tend to find those blacks to look either very dry or oily (the ‘glossy’ look), whereas ‘black’ hair that’s more like very dark brown, like in op’s pic, tend to have a softer look
