In a few ways, SBR is one of the best shonen-esque manga ever written. Some of its the subtlety, for example, is amazing for what it is.

Nah, it's not just that. Even in seinen, truly-unspoken story details which the reader needs to infer for themselves, for example, are a rarity. Of course, JoJo's fanbase is so retarded and pretentious that its not really worth getting specific.

Memories perhaps but not personality or little changes in their past that shaped them in different ways. How do we know the douchebag Valentine even had a father he knew about? Maybe in that world Valentine never got the handkerchief. Maybe in that world, Valentine's dad lived a ripe old life or never even went to war.
There are a lot of variables that have nothing to do with memories being transferred.
