Started to reading It three days ago and I'm already at chapted 225 (vol.25). What do you guys think about?
Toriko
great read
best exemple of bad series being shilled
One of my all time favorite series. I still have fond memories of our weekly chapter release threads.
Manga's fun, albeit inconsistent in quality
Anime's pretty bad
Yea Forums is mostly people who just watch anime and don't read manga so understandably the series isn't liked here. What is referring to has always been a weird complaint to me too, the people here literally are not part of the audience Shueisha were shilling this product to, why do people here even give a shit?
Fuck I almost forgot GOD ate the moon.
I fucking miss Toriko. Without question, the best action in a Jump series in recent history. So much hype shit in the final arc (Jirou, 8 Kings, my nigga Midora, Neo being hax, etc.).
Great manga, even though it rushes the last arc and sidelining the whole tasting aspect during it.
The axed 3 continents really hurt it, sequel when with their kids?
No not with their kids (since only Toriko and Rin had one), just do the space arc.
Food Honor was an underrated arc.
jumps loves to stretch shit when it gets an long running anime and when it fails they force the author to rush the final
really tired of this shit
I don't want komatsu anymore, just have toriko's kid join up with some new guys then the 4 heavenly kings still alive will be introduced later.
its mental and I love it. Some good food romanticism in there, lots and lots of inventive biology and bromance
yup, re-read recently and it got me real hard
I'll have to re-read it
I absolutely love the first half of the series. The 2nd half is pretty good, but expect it to jump around a lot after the first arc.
The Jump fest special was phenomenal. Avoid anything by Toei like a plague.
This. I Would have been pretty cool to have 3 mini arcs covering Coco, Sunny and Zebra's adventures in the gourmet world before meeting up with Toriko and Komatsu again.
Posting Sky Deer because it was based.
Also, It would have been great if they had put more attention on the other ingredients of Acacia's full course besides Air, God, Pair and Another. We never even saw News, Earth or Atom and Center was rushed.
Would be infinitely better if Komatsu was a girl.
Sunny bros, where are you?
Fun series but water potential. Moslty in plot lines and not going through the continents. But the battles were fun and Toriko is one of my favorite shonen MCs as he wasn't a typical dumb idiot.
>looks at Saitama
It goes the classic Toriko style of "introduce mundane concept (erase your presence and minimize wasted movements to the extent that you can make such delicate incisions that your ingredient itself won't notice it's been cut yet) > level it up > take it to its logical conclusion (shear all the meat off an animal's bones so it's a walking skeleton and hasn't noticed it died yet)".
My main worry in that arc is that Toriko's near-death experience and subsequent zen mantra would become his personality after that and he'd lose the fun gluttony and anger he had before, but that didn't happen so it's OK in my book.
It had the best rape faces in recent WSJ history.
Absolute god tier design, plot was shaky but the characters kept it fun right up till the end. Honestly its the only manga that made me really excited to read the next week
>Starjun has a hellish time capturing Komatsu
>Midora gives one simple request to the captured chefs: "Make me want seconds, and you can go home."
>Komatsu nails it on the first try and Midora gives him permission to leave
>Komatsu chooses to stay
I'm still figuring why he did or did I miss he explained why.
He believes toriko will come for him.
It's a hell of a wild ride.
Komatsu says it'd be an insult to his combo partner, who had his pride and honor shattered by losing to Starjun, to just leave back to the Human World, so he will wait to be formally rescued instead. That way Toriko will regain his pride by making his way through the death world that repelled him in the past, becoming stronger than he was before.
>Komatsu: I'll wait for Toriko to return
>Midora: C-can you at least do it outside. I'm kind of tired seeing you everyday.
>The treasure food Pair is the Monkey King's balls
That was the most ridiculous fucking chapter
Up there with Bleach as an example of peak shonen in the era.
Based manga, fuck One Piece, Naruto, HxH, YYH, all that other shit.
Great series ruined by a studio that was more worried about shilling it as much as possible than producing an actually decent adaptation
We don't talk about the anime
Do you know what is sadder? Ufotable almost was the one in charge of the adaptation but Shueisha kikes gave it to Toei instead
It was the last battle shounen that actually made my blood boil with excitement. Most modern battle shounen aren't hotblooded enough for my taste, there is too much crying for too few GAR moments.
his whole arc was a fucking roller coaster
>plays stone skipping using MOUNTAINS
>sleeps in motherfucking space
>one shots main party in a fraction of a second
>he was just playing with em
>gets so livid that the manliest of man have their life flash before him
It's Soma for homosexuals.
it's not a series about cooking, it's a series about hunting
the synopsis is misleading as hell though
>manly men doing manly things=gay
It's because of this mindset that there are so many Shinji-tier MCs nowadays
It was good until they started going full shonen battle shit like halfway through but then finally embraced its silliness once Toriko started slicing continents into space.
forgot the picture, I loved the last arc.
Toriko did scale very well in its fights. Power was always shown, never just told.
This.
Midora is best boy, Glacier was the best arc, could've ended a lot better.
Toriko is god tier.
>Volcanos
>Eldritch abominations
>The treasure chests
>The dude with swords
>The reveal that they DID get the treasures
Still waiting for another villain to be half as good as him.
GRAND KNOCKING
Komatsu is among the shittiest protags I've ever had the displeasure of reading. But everything else is alright, too bad he ran out of steam around the Another arc.
>25 volumes in 3 days
NEET confirmed
The ending made me cry.
i miss him, Yea Forums
The sheer creativity that was packed into the goddamn thing is amazing.
What the fuck was his problem?
He wanted Neo to puke up all the stuff he ate with his insatiable appetite, so he pretended to be the biggest scumbag he could so Toriko and friends would get mad and attack him in rage. "Anger" is the only flavor of food that Neo can't stand, so by feeding him enough anger-fueled energy he'd be defeated and the universe saved.
Everything he said there was correct.
I just know that the author delivered in every fight he hyped up
>Minority World vs Hungry Space
Jesus christ
>Stopping a planet's rotation
>one of the strongest fighters
>tries to fight neo like he wasn't shit.
Hated he died especially so horribly.
