I really liked it a lot, but the first season already ended on a pretty conclusive and positive note, I don't know what happens in the rest of the novels but I am satisfied enough with what the 1st season gave me.

Season 1 did the right thing and focused on the robots instead of the general war and same character arcs you've seen a hundred times in LN writing. I've been told the novels are considerably heavier on the R&D part, but that could've proved a bit too much to translate in animation. Trap Megumin living his dream of making IRL plamo was a cool idea.

The MC retaining previous knowledge of our world both in the robot and the programming fields was what allowed him to make breakthroughs in magic as a kid and to basically kickstart an arms race. Him being a programmer is what allows him to understand elven magic and make his own OP robot.
