It's the beginning of the story. She'll likely become helpful as the story goes on. Right now, she's had no reason to help MC, because she didn't even know why he was killing them. To her, the Incarnates are merely misunderstood and can be reasoned with, which is unfortunately untrue for all of them besides the dragon dad so far, and he was barely holding on.

We didn't in the manga, Hank being a werewolf was kept til the minotaur fight too (though the clues about it were basically slapping everyone in the face from the start). The anime is moving all the flashbacks forward by at least a volume or two so there's no mystery or tension. Removing all the humor and quirks from the characters too which is killing any dynamics. I didn't like the manga much but at least it had moe Hank and some back and forth between the cast - the anime has stripped that all out to make it as solemn and serious as possible. Does not work well for such goofy monsters.
