Daily reminder that First Prince Benjamin is the only one who has already mastered, MASTERED NOT PLAY WITH FUCK YOU LITTLE BROTHER, the art of Nen. Thus, he is the most fitting to rule the greatest nation on the face of Hunter Earth, great Kakin.

Benjamin welcomes challenges from all the Princes, high or low. He'll put all of them down like the rabid dogs they are. Second Slut Camilla is about to be turned into a thot pelt at the thick and meaty hands of the future king of Kakin.

Because he's the fastest doesn't mean he's the strongest. He's not the only prince developing Nen, he's just the fastest and may or may not be the most intelligent just because he's developing fast.

Fuck off both of you with cancerous shit. This is a HxH thread, not a snk.

Absolutely based, finally someone with taste.

I don't get why you don't just post it as a HunterxHunter thread. That is what most people search for when they look in the catalog.

Also, Princes by number of current death flags ranking:
1) Benjamin
2) Camilla
3) Tserriednich
4) Taithon
POWER GAP
5) Tsubeppa
6) Halkenburg
POWER GAP
7) Luzurus
8) Marayam
9) Zhang Lei
10) Fuu
11) Wobble

The higher the Prince is ranked, the least likely he is to suvive the arc.

Reminder that meruem was the worst part of the chimera ant arc

Actually, I wouldn't be suprised if Halkenburg is almost assasinanted in the middle of the courtroom when HxH comes back. I don't actually know what would be better: if Halkenburg dies in a public court and sets off the boat shitstorm, or if he DOESN'T die from it, which is it's own sort of small shitstorm

Why are SNKtards so intent on HxH? It's like they want to artificially create some rivalry where there's noone to convince themselves SNK is anywhere near as good as HxH, when it clearly isn't.

I guess when only the shounenbabies like your series and it has absolutely no critical acclaim, but in fact the anime intelligentsia treat it with disdain since SNK is not well written and has atrocious characterization, this is what they have left?

So sad

And you

Lol i dropped AoT when they switched to the Reiner and the Marley soldiers, but is it true that Eren died last chapter? Lmao!!

Never, the anime is finished. That's for the best seeing how the manga has declined in quality and it won't have an ending.

It's better this way, at least the anime of HxH will be the GOAT since it's completed and it can't decline.

Next year maybe, around April or May.

It absolutely has, Hisoka's resurrection was some One Piece/Dragon Ball level of writing. And the ridiculous spiders being in the boat trying to kill Hisoka and dealing with the Mafia made the story less realistic, more generic and repetitive.

What a cute look, imagine Kurapika giving you that cute stare. I want a girlfriend with that look.

this makes me think that Kurapika is indeed a girl, just by the look and the stare

>Hisoka's resurrection was some One Piece/Dragon Ball level of writing
if you consider including a concept that was introduced in a previous arc to be op/db writing, yeah
>And the ridiculous spiders being in the boat trying to kill Hisoka and dealing with the Mafia made the story less realistic, more generic and repetitive
spiders getting on the boat to kill hisoka is 100% in character and the mafia has been something that the spiders have been dealing with since yorkshin

I consider a cop-out when you say there's going to be a Deathmatch and no one dies, yes that's DB tier right there. He should have killed either one or the two die in a double K.O. HxH lost credibility after that bullshit.

No it isn't on character, there's no way they'd end up in the same boat as Kurapika and the entire Hunter association, are there no other people in the whole wide world they can rob? Why when Kurapika appears again in the plot they do as well? You see where this is going?

And precisely, the spiders dealing with the mafia AGAIN is boring and cliched, basically like One Piece when is the same generic shit every arc.

This writing mistakes by Togashi made the manga less believable and realistic, and more generic. And for what? For Hisoka vs Spiders? Who the hells cares for a plot as dull as that? Seriously a plot like that could exist in a manga like Naruto, which is embarrassing.

>there's no way they'd end up in the same boat as Kurapika and the entire Hunter association
the journey to the new continent is a huge event with literal royalty hiring the hunter association to help. There is only one boat going there atm, so why would the spiders either wait for another voyage when they could go after hisoka in order to avenge their family members? Why would kurapika be somewhere else when his entire arc has been leading up to him vs tse?
>the spiders dealing with the mafia AGAIN is boring and cliched
this is not the central focus of the arc by any means, and saying that the second time togashi uses the mafia is a cliche is a bit of a stretch.
>I consider a cop-out when you say there's going to be a Deathmatch and no one dies
the battle between hisoka and chrollo has been nothing but copouts, and that most certainly the climax of their subplot, hence the spiders being on the boat to get hisoka.

>Why when Kurapika appears again in the plot they do as well? You see where this is going?
I agree, it ruined the world-building aspect of the series.
>This writing mistakes by Togashi made the manga less believable and realistic, and more generic. And for what? For Hisoka vs Spiders? Who the hells cares for a plot as dull as that?
I agree in principle however, considering the huge set-ups taking place it might still be something nobody saw coming. There has been too much invested into this arc for him to just mess it up completely.

Wow this is so wrong its funny. Makes me remember to those "earth is flat" infographics kek

Now you’re not, you edgy red eyed cretin.

In all the German version of HxH; Kurapika is a girl.

Don't worry he'll be healed by a deus ex machina just like Gon was.

Didn't Germans liked more blonde boys back then? Times sure change.

I don't remember shit.

Germans don’t like it when boys looks like girls and vice versa. Yes times sure change, always is.

You don’t remember much to begin with.

That’s why there is this guide, you dumb fucking retarded ape you.

There will probably be an attempt on his life, but:
Vict is still possessed, which means that Halkenburg can gain intel on Benjamin's plans, as well as getting Vict to accuse Benjamin of being behind the murders.
Halkenburg being friends with Benjamin is still a plotline unexplored, and Halkenburg's Nen Beast killing him if his conviction wavered is still an unexplored weakness.

So Halkenburg will almost certainky survive the trial.

Poor guys

Why do the authors have this desire to overcomplicate the plot? Isayama did the same. Oda did the same (kinda). The dude from is doing the same. And their stories became more deep and complex... and boring.

Simplicity is underrated.

Call me low IQ or whatever, but the Hunter Exam was much more engaging than the current arc.

The spiders have no reason to be there, they can steal anywhere else in the world. They have no way to escape even if they could somehow steal something.

It's not the focus but yeah the second time is a cliche already, the lower decks is basically Yorknew 2.0. It might not be the focus but it has the potential to ruin the entire arc.

What climax? Togashi should have never used the spiders again. Yorknew was great because nothing came out of Hisoka wanting to kill Chrollo, now he went generic with that stupid shit. That was good writing, not Hisoka surviving. He better kills Hisoka and Kurapika soon enough, or it's not subversive/deconstructionist.

The dude from Yakusoku Neverland*

Take it back spider scum.

Attached: 1448a2d8ef38b45852db06d0008882b0.jpg (800x534, 92K)

I don't know about that. Many would have believed Togashi uncapable of the utter shit writing Hisoka's resurrection, in fact when the spoilers came out everyone tought they were fake given how cringy and fanfiction-y it seemed.

Togashi doesn't like conventional writing so who knows how it's going to play out but after that shit with Hisoka and the spiders on the boat it might as well be terrible. We can't know for sure this arc won't be a complete disaster.

At the very least it's only making this arc more bloated and thematically incoherent since the SW has nothing to do with this clown and spiders and mafia thing.

Yeah agree.
I miss the older simple times.

Attached: Chapter_088.png (671x1038, 289K)

I think you don't understand how Togashi work or what HxH is.

HxH comes from a place of complete freedom and self-indulgence. It's just a hobby for him, Togashi doesn't care about writing a good story he cares about entertaining himself.

Does this arc makes for a compelling? In all likelihood it won't, Togashi is going to fail when he tries to wrap it up, but he's not going for that, he just wants to break the record for most characters in an arc and see what happens.

Not really, HxH is only a prestige series for Chimera Ant so if it had been like the HE all along it wouldn't be worth reading.

Earn it, you Kurtaroach demon.

Attached: ehum.jpg (417x353, 19K)

The Spiders didn't make it to the boat by accident. They are chasing Hisoka and they believe he is on the boat. He brought them there. And if you actually pay any attention to the plotline, there is a Zodiacs vs. Spiders conflict being set-up because the Zodiacs will want to protect the Mafia when shit hits the fan.

And that was probably Hisoka's plan. Hisoka should know about the Association being hired by Kakin. And that means he should know the Zodiacs would be there on a mission. And if anybody can take down the Spiders, it is the Zodiacs.

>Hisoka should have died in the fight
In a sense, Hisoka did die there. He is no longer the playful Hisoka who fought relatively fair. And by abandoning that side of him, he has become a true monster. And he is almost certainly going to die at the end of this arc.

You got the order mixed, the spiders were going to rob the boat regardless. Hisoka also being there is even worst. These characters bring nothing new, nothing interesting to the series, their time has passed.

There's no Zodiac vs Spiders plotline but if there were holy crap that would be Bleach level of writing. Really like the shit you would see in a fighting shounen. I think Togashi is going to fail, he already has really since the hand of the author had never been so evident in the series like it is now, but i doubt it's going to be as bad as Zodiac vs Spiders.

The Zodiacs don't give a damn about the spiders and they would never face them, that's bad writing, solving conflicts through fiction is the epitome of juvenike writing in manga. The lowest of the lowest, it won't happen, Togashi will fail yes but in other ways. He won't turn HxH into Fairy Tail even if he declines.

hunterxhunter.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:MrGenial11/Jump_Ryu_Vol.21:_Yoshihiro_Togashi
"About the color spread of Captain Tsubasa, Togashi considers "Junior competition France" arc in Captain Tsubasa has the most numerous named characters in Weekly Jump's history. He aims to break the record. "
It is obviously not an official record, but he did start out the arc with the idea of "I am going to make an arc with more named characters than that Tsubasa arc"

Attached: 1558912333210.jpg (357x765, 74K)

I meant solving conflicts trought fighting.

This is why Togashi is the greatest alive mangaka. He actively endeavors to push the boundaries of the medium and make history. Other authors (especially in Shonen Jump) just go through the motions and create easy to follow, formulaic kitsch.

Just as Chimera Ant was the Odyssey of manga, the Succession War arc will be the Anna Karenina of manga. Screencap this.

Attached: 1538000595960.png (1404x1360, 532K)

Read the manga. Stuck in the lower tiers, their introduction thus becomes a natural way to establish the links between this country’s upper and lower stratas of society – the spiders connect with the mafia, who are themselves connected to three of the princes. Some of the best segments of volume 36 focus on the unique relationships developing between the Spiders and the more traditional mafia, like the terrific character introduction, where a low-level mafia boss’s strength is emphasized not through physical prowess, but through the fact that he negotiates calmly and forcefully with Chrollo in spite of risking death the entire time. Other segments delight in very different ways, like the unsurprising fact that most mafia underlings are absolutely starstruck by seeing the big celebrities of their industry.

Also, the Spiders added a degree of clarity to this Arc. Like how the introduction of Kurapika being able to give others powers essentially solved the issue of Oito not being able to contribute, the Spiders reduce the many logistical sub-conflicts of the boat’s lower decks into one larger goal: a race to find Hisoka. Unsurprisingly, the same generosity of characterization that Togashi applies to the various princes’ guards also applies to the spiders – they’re depicted as intelligent, concerned for each other, and at times very funny, to the point where it seems clear Togashi’s realized they’re just too valuable as characters to be stuck playing villains. Hisoka is an elemental force who cares about no one, making him a great villain – the spiders are all charming criminals who care about each other, making them something closer to dashing rogues.

No he already failed at this. It's obvious he chew more than he can swallow.

That chart is far from impressive, and since he already wrote Chimera Ant all the more reason he's going to fall now. Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice.

Also what does Chimera Ant have to do with the Odyssey? Oddyssey is an adventure if anything CA is like Hamlet or Moby Dick.

Pitou is the best girl and is my wife

Attached: 36589022_p0.png (800x1050, 668K)

Why are you using Bobduh's pasta? You think that can work with me? I'm not a shounen shitter you know, i despise fighting series.

We are discussing how Togashi got himself into this potential mess, props to the user who got that interview about the character record, that's what i was talking about.

This arc seems to be poised to be the most complex, bloated, generic and predictable of the entire series. Not entirely devoid of merit of course since it still does some things very good.

Oh well where can you go but down after CA, look where Berserk has been since the Golden Age as well. Too bad Togashi didn't end the manga with silence but oh well that's his hobby.

I thought the Pitou poster had finally died.

>it's ok when huntercels ruin every other shonen thread

Worst HxH arc by far.

>No he already failed at this
The Succession War already boasts some of his best character writing in the entire manga. Morena's introduction is the strongest since Gon himself, bar none. The plights of Oito/Halkenburg/Fuu are brilliant examples of Togashi's human sensitivity and compelling counterpoints to as the dramatic counterpoints to their bloodthirsty relatives. Speaking of, Tserriednich is so fucking good. He's generally eager to learn despite risks and gifted at learning nen and intellectual pursuits, which portray him as a character who can grow in some ways, but clearly has no interest at all in growing in others. The traits that he's gifted in (intellect, nen, strategy) can grow him as a villain, but they're hindering his growth in other ways because his talent is astounding & sets him above others, which compounds his already-present arrogance & inability to empathize with others. So as his strengths increase so do his flaws, which will probably help destroy him in the end. He also parallels Kurapika. Both have immersed themselves in the underworld and done unspeakable things, but they've done them for completely different reasons. And that's without getting into his relationship with Theta and being on friendly terms with Halk, which will no doubt be a relevant plot point in the future.
>That chart is far from impressive
It's incredibly impressive. It nicely reflects how virtually every individual in this maddeningly complicated arc has their own genuine agency. Take Vergei for example. He's just some low-level guard, but he's genuinely invested in his prince's safety, and his distrust of Kurapika is completely understandable.
>and since he already wrote Chimera Ant
All of Hunter x Hunter is an impressive work of rapid fire execution of intelligently composed scenes. CA elevates it to Masterpiece status, but we already had layered thriller beats and compelling character drama in Yorkshin.

Attached: hxh 378 kino.jpg (2440x1997, 1.5M)

Hey at least there's no Gon and Killua and is certainly not worse than G.I.

It's only been 7 months, that's nothing. The manga will come back next year most likely, he will drop it eventually but not in the near future. Maybe in 10-12, years for sure.

Did you forget Chrollo has a teleport ability in his book? Also, they are on the boat because they know Hisoka is on the boat and they want to kill Hisoka because he killed two members. It is not a fucking coincidence.

>reprise of Yorkshin
How? Because there is mafia and there is the Troupe?

Outside of maybe some Spiders slaughtering armed people, I can't see any other plot beats being repeated. Hisoka will probably murder the Spiders one by one, while these try to find him and remain on the run from the Zodiacs, and social collapse serves as the backdrop. The Mafia in this story are pretty much forces of social structure

>Also what does Chimera Ant have to do with the Odyssey?
There’s a feeling that resonates deeply with me - that the Palace Invasion onward is capital-A ART. That the series’ main focus is to render humanity and nothing more or less. The way all the extremes of human nature are displayed in the Chimera Ant arc feels like reading a sort of contemporary Odyssey. It is epic in the original sense of the word -- something majestic that shines light on the nature of living.

Does anyone really give a shit about the named death fodder introduced in this arc? This arc in general?

I want to have my first kiss with Pitou!

Three fucking worthless retards in a row, how surprising.

>DURR IZ TO CUMBLEX
It's alright, brainlet, you keep coping in your corner over there while HunterCHADs indulge in the most thematically rich, structurally complex, multilayered arc in manga. I'll reply to this post with some thematic throughlines that your dumb ass no doubt missed. Let's begin.

Chimera Ants was more focused humans themselves, The Succession War goes beyond that. the Succession War arc is a commentary on human society, power and inequality. Pic related sharply introduces our backdrop for this kino.

Attached: The Succession War.png (788x803, 567K)

Yes and yes, me.

Kurapika holds Woble for the first time. Those are the eyes of a man who was just told that a baby was entered into a battle to the death. He probably sees a connection to himself and that baby’s situation, where both were lined up for slaughter because of their lineage. Family is obviously a central theme here.

Attached: Oito.png (1518x1180, 1.51M)

>while HunterCHADs indulge
A few weeks at a time in between years of hiatus.

Attached: IdeonKasha.jpg (1440x1080, 770K)

That's true, first of all Gon's introduction is garbage like most things related to him.

I never said the arc was all bad, but the bad are so integral that the arc has no chance of coming out on top.

The character voice has been stellar as well as the dialogue with the walls of texts. Most stuff on the 1st deck has ranged from great to brilliant.

If this arc were to be good, Kurapika would neccesarily die and the winner of the SW would be between Tserriednich and Camilla since they are the most evil. I doubt Togashi has what it takes to pull that really.

It isn't impressive in that it's nothing new for HxH. This arc probably won't even be as good as Yorknew. HxH is a slow burner and has no rapid fire execution, Yorknew was great but nothing historic like CA. If you take CA from HxH it isn't Top 10 material while still being worth reading for a WSJ series.

I'm just praying that Togashi will be able to finish at least the current arc. Finishing the whole manga at this pace (10-20 chapters a year, some years 0 chapters even) is a pipe dream.

Hisoka wasn't in the CA arc despite being in every other arc in the story because he would've killed Meruem by himself.

Attached: 1499562951900.gif (400x400, 389K)

Food symbolism to represent inequality. Greed and Ambition in a world of limited resources are themes in pretty much every HunterxHunter arc, and the SW is taking it further.

jesus christ, i cant even laugh at you guys anymore. this is just sad

No they were planning getting there before Hisoka killed them.

And there's a butthurt character trying to kill them. Let's not forget Kurapika is a bodyguard for someone who is a target of the Troupe schemes.

Hisoka will never get past killing 1 or 2 spiders, he's going to die but the spider won't perish that's for sure.

Further case in point. Consistent thematic development in this arc.

Attached: Balance.png (1444x1285, 958K)

Subordinates being taught to treat their superiors like family. It's almost like Togashi is still a genius and knows where he's going with this narrative. But some brainlets getting filtered by the plot's complexity can't keep up.

Attached: Furykov family.png (766x636, 410K)

Well many of them are better characters than all the spiders but Nobunaga and Franklin. Only shounenshitters like the spiders because they think they're strong and they're going to fight... pathetic. They're like the Akatsuki Espada for them, that's the kind of series they come from.

Passengers divided by their social status much like the Titanic.

Attached: Black Whale tiers.png (843x963, 587K)

Why do you think that the Spiders are there to steal first? Have you not read their dialogue at all? Chrollo himself says that their first objective is finding Hisoka and they will steal shit later. Chrollo also remarks that he is sure that Hisoka is in the boat, while it doesn't seem like they are even aware about what Kakin's treasure is or how loyal the Mafia is to Kakin.

Plus, as you said. They could be stealing anywhere in the world. Why the boat? It is obvious they are there for Hisoka.

And

mostly no, but I admit that I'm a brainlet
yes

This arc is shit and only pseudointellectuals or hardcore HxH dicksuckers would argue otherwise. CA and Yorknew are the best arcs, and Yu Yu Hakusho is still Togashi's best work.

Gon is not in the current arc despite being in every other arc because he would solo the Black Whale and the Dark Continent

Attached: 1538079825165.png (365x480, 146K)

The only way for lower classes to survive is to join the mafia and engage in criminal activities, which in turns hurts the lower classes. A brilliant one because it's actually very accurate to real life and the cyclical nature of environments that breed crime.

By the way I'm not saying that we can call this arc a CA-tier masterpiece yet, but it certainly feels like it's getting there. Society is obviously what Togashi has been centering the arc around and if you can't keep up, you got IQ filtered. Go read something simpler, brainlets.

Attached: Lower classes.png (751x739, 431K)

Pathetic, this arc is going to go down as Togashi's greatest mess. It won't even come close to Yorknew when it's over, fucking Yorknew. It has no chance of ever even being compared to CA, you understand user? No manga ever will have a story that can compare to it, you better start coming to terms with that fact pathetic shounentard.

You do know Franklin is rich right?

Attached: Find Hisoka.jpg (920x1300, 273K)

Chrollo won't be making it off the boat alive

(Cont)
And the encounter between Botobai, Mizaistom, and Ginta and the Spiders seems guaranteed since Illumi leaked their presence to the Zodiacs on purpose and Mizaistom remarked that the Mafia was in charge of security in the lower tiers. Pay attention to the text. Seriously.

Maybe they won't fight, but at the very least they are more or less certainly getting involved at some point.

>Gon's introduction is garbage
Read the manga. As a child Gon saw two versions of his father. The first being due to Kite , who told him his dad was alive. He was intrigued and fascinated by the overglorification of his dad by Kite compared to Mito. And that of hunters. He doesn’t see himself as being abandoned. Because Ging was a great man. And that’s because Kite told him that. Ging must have had something better to do. Already, this tells us that Gon can only see the parts that interest him the most, a core facet of his character arc. The reason for this curiosity being that he was raised on an island with no playmates or buddies, only animals. He wants to see the world being hidden from him, and relates to Ging in the same way (your dad gave the exam at the same age thing).

But interestingly, Gon doesn’t abandon the cub. He didn’t leave him behind to be grown up on his own. He was told he was taken custody of only later, but he understood that he was left behind. He didn’t want to be alone, like the cub. Which is why Gon is different from Ging. Ging chases his dreams and forgets about everything else, but Gon has difficulty leaving behind things (like KMito, the cub which grew up, and later Killua etc).

So Gon is lonely, curious, positive, empathetic, and energetic . Lonely by inherently having no friends, curious because of the world of hunters, positive because of his outlook, empathetic because of the cub, and energetic cause of his origins. All in the first chapter. A masterpiece.

As for your brainlet tier assertion that SW arc is anything but cohesive and well written, you just got BTFO
Watching you stumble over your words comprehend the complexities of HxH is like watching a three year old attempt to understand topics like quantum mechanics. Now go back to whatever shithole you came from, brainlet.

He doesn't know where he's going. He has said as much himself. Listen you can try to convince yourself however but people capable of critical thinking can realize that the ridiculous spiders, mafia and hisoka subplot is completely incoherent with the themes of the Succession War.

That's the worst mistake Togashi has made. Imagine if during the Palace Invasion the spiders were trying to steal East Gorteau riches and Hisoka was hunting them in the underground tunnels? Don't you see the inherent problem in that? How ridiculous it is? Jezz good grace Kurapika wasn't in CA.

Try not to be a fanboy next time, elevate the level of your discussion, blindless fanboyism won't get you anywhere here you're not dealing with retards who love One Piece or My Hero Academia but with cultured, critical Hunterchads who can criticize it objectively with arguments.

Goddamn this arc has been so fucking KINO. I'm too hyped for the next batch of chapters.

Attached: when that hunterchad post is also a based post.jpg (1280x1280, 117K)

Hisoka will die again

Attached: Hisoka on verge of death.png (591x645, 337K)

The bottom died first but the order theory died with chad chad

My goodness, read fucking chapter 357. Just before Hisoka kills Shalknark Chrollo is telling them they're going to get on the boat. All the other things you mentioned further prove my point how weak the writing is on that development.

Not it isn't, YYH is generic shit for brainlets. It's like DBZ.

Hunterfa---I mean, Hunterchads, what do you guys think of Yu Yu Hakusho?

Fucking based. Hunterchads truly are the pioneers of the new renaissance.

Attached: chrollocheers.jpg (540x485, 47K)

>girl

Shit and boring, compared to Hunter x Hunter. I believe you wanted to say something like Hunterfags, am I correct?

Attached: ;).jpg (699x750, 74K)

Anyone who says that the current arc is shit, boring or rehashin a different coat, is a fucking brainlet and a mindless faggot.

Bye Bye everyone

I'll have you know I meant to Hunterfans, but I figured that name wasn't accurate.

Gon is a generic shounen mc? You do know that right user? Oh boy i hope you know that.

That user didn't prove anything, on the contrary he utterly failed to make the case for the presence of all the recycled elements from Yorknew. The rest is jist basically headcanon, like the shonen fanboys who have convinced themselves Chrollo is a well written character because he has some id crisis (lol) when he's nothing but a dull, two dimensional character.

Togashi set himself for failure with this arc, because he wanted to break a certain record...

Cute jobber

Oh really :)
You won't lie to me now, would you ;)

>Listen you can try to convince yourself however but people capable of critical thinking can realize that the ridiculous spiders, mafia and hisoka subplot is completely incoherent with the themes of the Succession War.
Name the themes of the Succession war, and explain how these themes aren't present in the Mafia war in the lower decks. If you want to meme about being a hunterchad you should be able to do this bare minimum.

I disliked the Spiders getting involved in the arc at first, but I actually pay attention to the plot and can certainly say that their involvement isn't a mistake.

Social structures are a huge theme in this arc and are portrayed as the "main" determiner of "fate", which is another theme in this arc. The mafias are an arm of social structures, on which the Kakin Royal Family sits, and the Spiders are a force of social unrest. This was even portrayed explicitely in the Franklin-O'nior juxtaposition.

And then, plot-wise, it seems like shit will hit the fan in the upper levels due to Kurapika teaching everyone Nen, with Zhang Lei (whom if you have paid attention will probably be either the winner of the SW or the True Final Antagonist), and soon probably other Princes, going to the lower decks

Seriously. This all makes perfect sense within the Hobbessian themes of the arc.

You sound like a OP fan saying Dressrosa is totally not Alabastar 2.0,

You sound like a retard and a faggot who's afraid to admit he likes OP.

Kek nice save

>Social structures are a huge theme in this arc and are portrayed as the "main" determiner of "fate"
See also the ranking of the Queens and how this affects their own authority, as well as how the number of children a queen has can also determine how much influence they have like with Duazul.

We also have the distinction between legal and illegitimate children which is why the 2nd raters exist, but also creates a situation where Zhang is a legal prince despite his father being Onior. And you also have the Untouchables that Camille commands because of her promise to elevate their families past their caste.

The Succession War is an arc about political maneuvering an indirect actions, where Nen is not about individual proclivities BUT, for the first time in the series, collective support. It's also a war where information is absolutely crucial, as well as leverage and diplomatic measures. A war between princes and their entourages. You know... like a proper political thriller or any show of that genre. Like GoT was in S1-S4.

Now please tell me, what in the fucks name does a fucking ridiculous pedo clown and the spiders going at it, what do these ridiculous characters could ever possibly have to do with the machinations and dynamics of a complex succession war?

Even worse the mafia is conveniently involved directly with 3 princes and they have a conveniently (2) direct passageway to the 1st deck. On the same boat where Kurapika is conveniently (3) doing bodyguard labor.

C'mon, i'll await your answer.

Lol so you DO like One Piece? Lmao

Based and solid observations.

Attached: Togashi impressed.jpg (290x358, 67K)

Does Hisoka's shit taste like bubblegum?

Kek no I DON'T like One Piece! STFU imao

They are, how big of a mistake we don't know yet. I mean if Togashi gives them the G.I. treatment at least the arc won't suffer much.

The spiders aren't a force of social unrest, they are a bunch of thieves and psychopaths. There's no fate theme in HxH, this isn't Jojo.

There will not be any chaos or shit hitting the fan moments, this arc is probably going to last another 80 chapters of very slow unraveling.

Exposed, you're a OP fan.

Attached: 37713132_p0.png (550x550, 56K)

>political maneuvering
>information is absolutely crucial
So like a mafia family maintaining their agreements and things like the location of Morena and Hisoka being imperative to resolving and avoiding conflict? And things like Etude of Darkness having the ability to elevate an entire group to higher standings and the way to stop them is to coordinate and root out the cancer before it spreads too far?
>ever possibly have to do with the machinations and dynamics of a complex succession war?
The spiders as a rogue element of great strength can tip the scales of the balance the mafia has and send things tits up.
Zhang is allied with the mafia that is currently in communications with the Spiders, if they can get leverage Zhang just got a potential means of taking down his siblings by facilitating the Spiders entering to the top floor and compensating them.
Morena herself is allied with Tserriednich and he's not happy she's breaking the rules and will potentially make moves to eliminate her himself.
The 2nd rate siblings themselves are directly related to Kakin and Onior being the father of Zhang has implications on how the family dynamic actually works, Broco-li potentially being the father of Luzarus also has implications and ramifications. And finally, if the lower decks explode into chaos it will send everything sinking into the ocean which is why stopping Morena is paramount for the remaining hunters, and the mafias.

This isn't convenient, it's a story and everything is here for a reason even if you're being pigheaded about it.

Attached: lynch.png (388x360, 128K)

Based. I gotta say i wasn't feeling this arc too much but couldn't exactly pinpoint why, but your post reflected my major gripe with all this plot that it just feels so implausible.

I wanna give Togashi the benefit of the doubt, i think he deserves it but it does seem like he crammed all this characters to tie "loose ends" which indeed would be very unrealistic.

Exposed, you're a snk fan and a cocksucker.

The Spiders will collapse social structures in the boat creating a state of Anarchy where not even the army will be trustworthy (see Mizaistom's mental image of widespread riots and crime).

The Prince who manages to surf throughout this absolute sea of chaos will deserve victory because he'll be able to emerge despite even being deprived of the social structures that brought him power.

You are assuming that the boat will be Game of Thrones til the end, when after Benjamin, O'Nior and Broccoli die, the boat will turn into the Walking Dead without zombies.

Nothing to do with it, those are just their silly, non-sensical dynamics, the conflict between the families is 100% direct.

The fact Hisoka's existence somehow now influences this conflic between FAMILIES OF KAKIN further proves my point of how ridiculous it is that this idiotic clown can become an important factor. It's ridiculous, it's like a main character having the world revolve around them, absolutely asinine.

Another flaw, stupid chatacters like the spiders can now somehow influence a machiavellian, mutilayered conflict like the SW? Togashi himself is unraveling what he set with so much rigor. Don't you see the inherent contradiction on this? And also the spiders couldn't do jackshit in the 1st deck, they would all die or be arrested there.

This is convenient, the hand of the author had never been so clear and now he has characters like Hisoka acting out of character like when he spared Machi, this is a mistake Togashi himself has admitted.

The Spiders are idolized by the have-nots and the Mafia higher-ups identify them as such. They also disregard social structures completely and that puts them at odds with the forces of order. Whether they want it or not, they are going to collapse the social structures.

You are completely ignoring all the foreshadowing for the upcoming massacre/wave of death/explosion that the characters keep talking about. Shit is not going to be about political maneuvering after Benjamin dies because everyone will get greedy and fight for the first place.

And that'd be very bad writing. I don't think that's going to happen, but it won't be good regardless. It will be slow paced all the way through the ending, it's just so complex Togashi will fail to tie it properly. At least that what i want to believe because the alternative would turn it into something as bad as The Walking Dead as you put it.

Stupid characters like the spiders have the power to create that kind of effect is ridiculous and unbefitting of a realistic series, that's what would happen in a power fantasy.

>the conflict between the families is 100% direct.
By your logic the siblings are in direct conflict as well.
>it is that this idiotic clown can become an important factor
The clown is just a means of getting the Spiders to play ball and not further complicate things. It's perfectly reasonable
>stupid chatacters like the spiders can now somehow influence a machiavellian, mutilayered conflict like the SW?
The story goes out of it's way to show that simplicity of the Spiders approach is what makes them dangerous, they don't care for the intrigue they'll pick a fight with anyone who starts one and even if they lose much like Meteor city, whoever did it is going to regret it.
>Don't you see the inherent contradiction on this?
nope
>And also the spiders couldn't do jackshit in the 1st deck, they would all die or be arrested there.
They think they can do it, they don't know what we know about the first deck, and it's not like they haven't done impossible jobs before. Remember, in the Exam arc it's stated that even hunters give the spiders a wide bearth and even when they lose members they still gain potent new ones.
>This is convenient
You might as well bitch about every story being too convenient if this is what ticks you off
>this is a mistake Togashi himself has admitted.
Source your claims faggot.

That's Naruto. There's not going to be chaos, when has HxH ever been so predictable? The spiders aren't going to collapse anything neither. Their influence on the grand scheme of things NEEDS to be kept at the minimum.

Even the smallest thing influences everything, even if indirectly. This buttefly effect has always been a thing in HxH. Hell, you love Chimera Ants. Don't you remember how everyone comments that the Queen would have never been a threat had she landed ANYWHERE except NGL?

And it is obvious that Nasubi set-up the boat to explode into chaos at some point in the future if you read Mizaistom's analysis of the boat security.

>when has HxH ever been so predictable?
Most of the time? Anybody with half a brain knew Meruem would fall in love with Komugi when she showed up. The thing ww couldn't predict was how the Hunters and the RG would react.

And it is the same this arc. How will everyone deal with the Spiders and a clown wiping out law enforcement in three tiers of the boat.

No they aren't, they can't kill each other in the open. Mizaistom explained this very well.

It's not reasonable, the word you're looking for is CONTRIVED. You know what wouldn't have been contrived? Not including the mafia, the spiders and the clown AT ALL.

The simplicity of their approach is the logic of a power fantasy, is an approach worthy of DB, not a realistic, believable story. This directly contradicts the nature of the nen beats and Hui Go Ro's speech in chapter 362. Direct confrontations devoid of subterfuge (like the one the spiders are hinting at like you pointed out as well) is basically what fighting shounen is and why it's so bad.

Yes retard, i do care about suspension of disbelief and the fact you have now admitted how ridiculous, shounen-y and contrived this thing is, WHICH HAS BEEN MY POINT THE ENTIRE TIME shows i win the argument.

Yorknew, CA and The Election are devoid of contrivances and this ridiculous power fantasy, DBZ-like direct confrontations.

PS. The source is the afterword of Vol. 34 where Togashi admitted that Hisoka wanted to kill Machi right there but he vetoed it because he needed an excuse to get Hisoka into the Black Whale. BAD WRITING RIGHT THERE. Admitted by Togashi.

am 100% confident that the spiders and kurapika will never meet during this arc.
it there for tension

Absolutely false, HxH had never been predictable before this arc. No one could predict how CA was going to develop or how it would end.

Again you're trying to make retarded clown and retarded spiders seem as if they were important characters of any kind, when they are nothing but disposable throwaway characters that can never influence the plot in such a way. This isn't Fairy Tail.

They are a big flaw of course, but they won't be the biggest flaw of this arc.

I hope you're right user, i hope you're right. Because that would turn HxH into Naruto, even worse if Kurapika joins Hisoka and kills Chrollo, imagine all the shounen retards that would make fun of us for such a godawful predictable childish development?

>mfw reading this convo
boooooring!

Attached: 1498695785760.png (400x400, 166K)

But she didn't land on NGL, she eventually made her way there.

The rest is just normal bureaucracy, that at least i can believe.

You scared, Chrollocuck?

Attached: 1531948148442.jpg (225x225, 6K)

I wish they had both died right there, HxH would be better as a series if that had happened.

>No they aren't
>let's let Party B handle our problem for us so we don't have too
That's indirect user
>It's not reasonable,
It is, you're upset that a group known for their strength are capable of being a factor in this exchange
>This directly contradicts the nature of the nen beats and Hui Go Ro's speech in chapter 362
Indirect conflict is good, but that doesn't mean that it's the only way to win just one that the king values. Your confusing his speech for being an indicative of the only winning move. Plus you don't know if the spiders direct approach won't get them killed thus proving the king correct.

You're jumping the gun with this one
>nd the fact you have now admitted how ridiculous, shounen-y and contrived this thing is
I have not, you're putting words into my mouth because you can't handle a different take than your own
>Yorknew, CA and The Election are devoid of contrivances
Gon and Killua going to the city the same time the Spiders and Kurapika and leorio are going to be there is an extreme coincidence by your logic

Gon meeting kite who has been contracted by the Kakin government to investigate the Chimera Queen who coincidentally landed in the one place she could actually proliferate is an extreme coindicence by your logic

Killua's unknown sibling being a creature capable of healing Gon is an extreme coincidence by your logic

Shut the fuck up you don't know what contrived is.
>BAD WRITING RIGHT THERE. Admitted by Togashi.
>"I decided to make a character not die so they can take place in this new situation"
user reads this as saying
>I admit this is bad writing because of user's arbitrary reasonings
So yeah, you're putting words in Togashi's mouth as well.

I have to agree with you user, this arc seems poised to be the weakest (bar Greed Island) but i at least can enjoy Gon and Killua didn't appear.

It's kinda weird why would Togashi dropped the ball like this? He has included so many characters from previous arcs, where before every arc had it self-contained cast. I wish he had just stick to the princes and their bodyguards.

Replying to yourself because you're losing an argument is in poor taste, user.

Are we so desperate to look different from any other shounen that we want the best characters to be killed off?

Attached: 37.jpg (684x1100, 22K)

Not it isn't, the Shuu and Sha families are already getting at it.

It's not reasonable and of course I'm upset, the spiders are a joke, i want to read something worth of Chimera Ant not Dragon Ball or Naruto. Especially with all the hiatuses.

Indirect conflict is the ONLY way to conduct a proper, successful succession war or any political campaign like Hui explained. I'm not confusing anything, his speech is 100% true, 100% realistic.

I'm not jumping the gun, I'm telling it how it is.

A different take than what HxH was famous for, yeah that's Naruto. That's why i said it has declined.

Not it isn't, Kurapika was tracking them and they had all agreed to meet on Yorknew. Nowhere near as bad as Kurapika and the spiders being in the dame vicinity AGAIN.

He admitted Hisoka acted out of charactee, he admitted Hisoka should've killed Machi right there...

Don't project onto me because you've lost the argument, you've been same fagging the entire thread.

why was kite so beautiful lads

Based.

Kurapika is a flat and dull character who brings nothing interesting to the story, as such he's better of dead and have Theta be the main focus of the arc since she's so much better. That'd be subversive.

So many cool females this arc.
really want to see what oito will do with it

Attached: 1552096149361.jpg (1500x2470, 1.02M)

o oy oito

Well I won't try to discuss kurabika character with you but he still pretty much very popular among the fans and togashi is still publishing in shounen jump.
So yeah the chance of killing him is pretty small.
We all remember how did he revive Gon nagato (pain) style after all.

Not sure how everyone says Hisoka his stronger because he came back from the dead, he isnt. Nen gets stronger after death doesnt apply him becoming stronger. If he is, then its OP.

>the Shuu and Sha families are already getting at it.
So Benjamin ordering two of his subordinates isn't direct either because all of his siblings are already in a battle? Or wait, that was never indirect to begin with because it was by Benjamins orders right?
>and of course I'm upset
That much is obvious
> the spiders are a joke, i want to read something worth of Chimera Ant
Yeah, they sure were a joke in the Chimera Ant arc when they destroyed an entire hive by themselves with only a few of their members. Some of whom demonstrated AOE attacks that would be terrifying if unleashed on this boat like Jupiter or Pain Packer.
>Indirect conflict is the ONLY way to conduct a proper,
Nope, it's the way he thinks is best but never stated to be the only way to win.
>I'm not jumping the gun
You're pretending the Spiders won't all die this arc when Togashi's own words are they will.
>Nowhere near as bad as Kurapika and the spiders being in the dame vicinity AGAIN.
They planned to rob a very famous ship that's going to make a history changing voyage, why wouldn't they be there any more than they were at York Shin which was the biggest mob auction on the planet? See how you aren't thinking anything it's all contrived by your reasoning
>He admitted Hisoka acted out of charactee
It's also within his character to be sweet on Machi because we've seen he does want her to come and kill him at some point given how he talked in York Shin. He both could have killed her and been in character, or spared her and been in character. Both are applicable but you're grasping at straws trying to bend your interpretation of bad writing to Togashi's statement.

Chrollo cheated because he knew he would've lost in a real 1 on 1 fight against Hisoka.

seriously it to good of a arc for it to be wasted on hiatus like this.
really want to see how he can handle all this, plus we still need more character introductions.
we have the mafia war, the princes war, the spider hunt, with the locas and hunter been force to join soon enough.....

Attached: 1500483369306.png (646x854, 285K)

Shut the fuck up you mindless drone

>triggered

>And precisely, the spiders dealing with the mafia AGAIN is boring and cliched, basically like One Piece when is the same generic shit every arc.
In Yorknew they fought against the mafia while on the black whale they kinda work with one of the 3 mafia for pragmatic reasons. Whole lot different from what happend at the previous arc.

>Halkenburg being friends with Benjamin is still a plotline unexplored,

Attached: 22D5E018-7902-4A3A-BC90-CBF8C858B145.png (358x223, 66K)

the training was done by chapter 390
now we wait for the "gift"

Attached: 18.png (917x1300, 216K)

I'm afraid of kurapika dying at the end of the arc... Everything defining him as a character and his nen are based on the eyes he's been looking for and by extension the spiders and finally the Prince.
All those characters are now in the same place.... and Kurapika already lost months of life expectancy because of his nen.
That doesn't look good.

Attached: kurapika.jpg (1280x720, 166K)

Kys homo

You're helping them by responding this way.
The chad never gets mad. The chad just laughs at his opposition and makes a quip or simply says "lol gay"

implying he wont be brought back to life thank to the baby nen beast....called "step daddy love"

Attached: 1496792868371.png (821x821, 623K)

Sorry then, my mistake for giving those fags You(s). But they were ruining my thread with their snk shit.

Tserriednich is gonna torture, rape and eat Kurapika. He will meet his demise at the hand of would be King.

Meant Tserriednich, obviously.

Halkenburg will be King and either end monarchy or become a crazy ruler.

3 of those already died once at least and 2 of them have a death marker over its head.

Doubt they were real SNKfags. Anyone can use an SnK pic. You're letting yourself get baited.

kek

this

It would be cool if there was a way for Kurapika to know how much lifespan he has left. Like a countdown or something like in Death Note.

>getting this mad over others liking things you dont like

now compare that to how many men died, you weirdo.

can you imagine waiting for this intense story to progress and getting this chapter

Attached: octo.jpg (1055x576, 228K)

He can't be taken serious as an author if he can't kill characters because "muh shonen jump".

There are plenty of men if you are a fag, the point here is we are finally seeing important woman characters and they last less than [insert short period of time]

so what you're saying is that men and women die. don't see the problem here.

Pitou only loves me and no one else

Attached: HunterFags.png (700x335, 130K)

is Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge worth watching?
Im new to HxH gunna watch it anyway.
After I watch the new anime, then the old anime, Im gunna catch up on the manga from the beginning, but for now, is this movie any good?

Attached: Hunter-x-hunter-phantom-rouge-poster.png (265x376, 212K)

Not really. But if you absolutely want to watch a HxH movie, watch this one over Last Mission. Also, you don't really need to read all the manga. Save for a few scenes like Killua gambling in Yorkshin, the anime adapted most of the manga.

Chrollo's too smart and is too resourceful for Hisoka to handle. He already proved it by killing Hisoka. Hisoka figured it out when their fight began. He figured that Chrollo's plan was to stall their fight until he gain more cards but not only did Chrollo got more cards he also gained more abilities to use those cards simultaneously. Hisoka's out of his league now. Chrollo will kill him again.

Kurapika is going to kill all the Spiders. He is an avenger. Chrollo gonna fuck him up tho

Make me

Does Togashi have the balls to kill off Kurapika?

If I was Togashi I would make Kurapika grow visibly older as he used Emperor Time. Wrinkles and creaky bones would be a great way to make readers actually believe there are real stakes to using that power.
And THEN kill him.

He has to die in this arc or else he will be a Gary Stu.

No, he has chronic back pain and laziness.

I did no such thing.

His wife must be a pretty demanding lover to make his back constantly hurt. Does she roleplay as one of her own characters in bed too?

>His wife must be a pretty demanding lover to make his back constantly hurt
Nope, Togashi doesn't exercise or play any sport, hence the constant back pain all the time. Also, he's playing DQ all the time and fucking around doing some shit.

The hiatus is continue to taking it's on HxH and the fandom.

I love the Succession war, the princes, the mafia, the spiders, the high and low classes tier, the characters and all that is bound to happen in the Black Whale.
