There's nothing wrong with what op is asking. You may be too new to new about it, but theres something called "mahou shoujo" which despite having shoujo in the name can also be for and targeted to, boys. This might all be too much for you to process though.

Majou shoujo is called that because the main character(s) are females with magic powers. The shonen in battle shonen is the same shonen as in the demographic shonen. It doesn't mean "battle boy" in the same way that mahou shoujo means "magical girl". You can have a battle shonen with female leads but you can't have a mahou shoujo with male leads.
