Can we finally settle this once and for all who was the strongest member of the akatsuki Pain or Obito?

Obito is a good close range fighter thanks to Kamui hax but doesn't have any long range attacks other than fireballs which we all know never harm anyone important.

If he were allowed to have Kakashi's eye and the strongest susanoo in the world then that would be an entirely different story.

MS Obito stands no chance against Nagato. Kamui absobtion is pretty slow even freaking Konan did react to Kamui absobtion just fine. Once Nagato senses that Obito's trying to capture him, he would send flying that Emo boy miles away with ST.

It depends completely and utterly on which version we talk about.
Pain beats base Obito any time, since Pain has some absolutely powerful attacks and almost perfect defense. 1v1 you can't beat that.
But if we talk peak power, Pain doesn't change much, but Obito gets Ten Tails power as well as his own Rinnegan, which makes that matchup reverse completely, and Obito wins hard.

Nagato is naturally stronger than Obito, as for Obito to get to the level where he was beyond Nagato, he needed 1 of the Rinnegan.

Without the Rinnegan and only 1 Mangekyo sharingan, He would not be able to outlast the power of all 6 paths of Pein.

However if we're talking about strongest Akatsuki member It would be an Itachi who isnt sick, aka how he was when reanimated during the 4th Ninja War. In that state, he DUNKED on Nagato, who was also an Edo-Tensei, and was even capable of swapping hands with KCM1 Naruto.

It would be a close fight much closer than everyone here is thinking it would be

Not stamina, it was bullshit with hashi bullshit cells. Hashirama would have been immortal if he didn't die offscreen. His cells have been alive for almost a century, and divided into thousands of tons of mass from the small amount madara got, yet they are still filled with enough vitality and chakra to give fodders mokuten, give prosthetic limbs to anyone, and heal MS damage. I don't think he even needed summons to teach him sage mode with how broken he is, it's plausible he learned it by harmonizing his trees with nature or some other bullshit to give him unlimited senjutsu.

Itachi was unironically the strongest and could've singlehandedly killed Obito if he wanted to. You have to keep in mind he kept a low profile for his brother's sake. The other two are only strong because they possess Rinnegan, but give those eyes to Itachi and see what happens.

I don't recall Kakashi ever being bad at using his Sharingan he just doesn't have the chakra to use it like a true Uchiha would, see how Kakashi became instantly a Kamui / MS spammer when he was on that Naruto roids, just like Obito with his Hashirama roids.

But yeah Kamui is broken and by far the best MS power as long as you are powered up by some Ashura roids.

It's pretty easy actually. Preta path could just touch him or at least the intangible part of him, and absorb the chakra that's creating the kamui. Human path comes in and sucks his soul out.

Not as great as you might think. Naruto can't awaken the Rinnegan naturally, and a borrowed Rinnegan can't be utilized to its full potential. It would almost certainly be even more useless than it was in Juubito's hands, since Juubito was at least an Uchiha with some aptitude for the Yin nature.

Remember that Sasuke recommended that Naruto give the Rinnegan to Kakashi to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Naruto's a bad fit for it. He'd have to train for years to achieve results similar to Nagato's.

Naruto can use clones to massively speed up training though. He could reasonably get a lifetime of training done in a week with his chakra reserves.

At a chronological point in the series, or at their peaks? Obito fused with Black Zetsu and running on six sages steroids could beat Pain/Nagato, but at literally any other point in the series the win would go to Pain.

Deidara would fuck pretty much all of the Akatsuki barring guys with special eyes. None of them know what his C4 does, so without the ability to see chakra they will not notice the bombs.

Gaara was also busy expending huge amounts of chakra protecting the village from Deidara's explosives. Gaara also got stronger without Shukaku. If Gaara didn't need to worry about his village, I feel like he would do much more against Deidara
