HxH is pretty bullshit and relies on characters accessing previously unknown (and most egregiously) temporary power ups to resolve arc, the ant arc for example meandered all over the place. Araki ignores consistency to write himself out of a corner he should stick to shorter arcs like part 2 to avoid having the issues.
