After biching he forced the committee to switch studio and staff, except they had already spent a bunch of the time and budget and nobody likes to work for a whiner, so the new staff was even worse and there was no time or budget to even try to make it not look shitty. Which means all that's left to carry the series in the writing, which even the writer admits he doesn't like how edgy he made the early parts and doesn't know what to do with the story later.

Because people had relatively high expectations and got another "just another isekai" treatment reserved for ironic and generic ones.

He got advanced copies of the character designs and script for input/approval and threw a fit over it and insisted it be redone by someone else. After switching the studio he got his more faithful designs and script like he wanted, but at the cost of everything else.
