Is there a more important franchise for Yea Forums culture?

Is there a more important franchise for Yea Forums culture?

probably not, maybe yotsuba

It's definitely near the top, as it was Yea Forums's first favorite anime.
I do see K-ON posted more often these days, though.

Hasn't been relevant here since Lucky Star, which hasn't been relevant since 2010.

This raises an interesting question. I assume a lot of us were still pretty new to anime back when Yea Forums was first created and we were watching Azumanga, but why is it we were so much more civilized than the K-On and Luck Star loving bad taste having fags of the late 2000s?

Lucky Star is trash because reference humor is trash even when it's new.
K-ON is literally the greatest anime of all-time.
In conclusion,

because by the time k-on came out more people were here

>K-ON is literally the greatest anime of all-time.
Azu(manga) is better

How K-on gets this comical level of praise baffles my mind, especially when it aired just a few years after Hidamari Sketch.

Hidamari and Azumanga are both great anime and top-5 SoL but K-ON is just on a completely different level in terms of execution quality.

Evangelion is probably the most important franchise for Yea Forums culture.

>K-ON is on a completely different level in terms of execution quality.
Indeed, however K-ON certain is not in the top 5. Maybe it's top 40 material at best.

nah

Name one other series which has existed since the beginning of Yea Forums which Yea Forums has had bestgirl arguments about on a literally daily basis since Yea Forums's inception.
Protip: you can't.
P.S. Rei a shit and a doll.

so what your saying is that eva is responsible for the worst of Yea Forums

Only fresh off the boat newniggers actually bother wasting their time on Asuka vs Rei. It's not Yea Forums culture.

Code Geass is up there for those who lived during Geass Sundays.

Mod-forced meme for a shitty show.

Wasn't there some old anime IRC group from SA moot was a part of called Raspberry Heaven? Azumanga Daioh is very much tied to Yea Forums's history as a whole.

Attached: Raspberry Heaven.jpg (1440x1080, 111K)

OreImo is surprisingly important to Yea Forums culture, although maybe it's not surprising since sibling incest is Yea Forums's most popular fetish.

>best girl arguments
>Azumanga
What the fuck are you talking about? We all know who the best girl is.

eva is responsible for moot, and the creation of the website so yes

Read the post you're replying to again, then read the post it's replying to again, then read the post that post is replying to again.
And yes, we all know it's Ayumu, and that Tomo is shit and ruined the whole episode.

cringe

You are.

Tomo is so epic
She carried the entire episode (you know the one I'm talking about)

Wasn't even AOTY either season it aired. That would be Kanon and Hidamari Sketch.

Yotsuba, steins;gate, meguca.; Of course this is all ancient for newfags like you.

AzuDai's mostly faded as its important on Yea Forums/internet culture has become history though it's still known. Plus it was a pre-Youtube/easy streaming series. K-ON came at the right time even if it's not that great.

Better than being completely forgotten like Lucky Star and Nichijou though.

Trash begets trash

Steins;Gate was important in the sense it attracted unwanted attention to Yea Forums helping us reach the current sad state of affairs

not really. you should know those shows

Naruto, thanks to Moot.

The only influence I remember K-on having on Yea Forums back in the day was people spamming K-on=shit threads constantly.

I recall the underage tripcode users and other kids gushing about how K-on was their first anime most vividly. And there always being a dozen k-on generals clogging up the board.

I can't fully express how much I fucking hate Oreimo. In terms of awful, pandering, wish fulfillment, cardboard cutout characters and regressing the art form it is so bad it makes Konosuba look like Rose of Versailles.

b-but i'm literally the logo
how could you forget about me

Is Kagura copping a feel!?

What's with that filename?

something he made?

Tied with Rozen Maiden.

tomo and kagura are hot

I remember watching the dub of this when I was younger, I still need to finish watching it subbed. It's been awhile.

do it now

>Yea Forums's first favorite anime
When's the next time Yea Forums will ever unanimously like an anime?

3.0+1.0

I have free time so I will either today or tomorrow. I also wanted to finish Nichijou which I watched subbed around the same time when I was younger but never finished the last few episodes on my rewatch earlier this year.

bump

lol internet

>slightly amusing joke happens
>gets repeated 10 times
or
>everything just stops and the "camera" holds on the joke for like 30 seconds
Baffling stuff.

Whenever the joke was repeated wasn't it one of those instances where it's pointed out it's being repeated?

God I miss this fucking shitstorm

>And yes, we all know it's Ayumu, and that Tomo is shit and ruined the whole episode.
This, but the complete opposite.

Sure, but it was awkward every time

>>slightly amusing joke happens
>>gets repeated 10 times
So even now it still holds a major influence on Yea Forums culture.

s-sneed?

it's called evangelion and it still has daily threads

Underrated post.

I'll never understand the love for it. I couldn't make it past the beginning of the second season when the sister shits all over the brother after he goes out of his way to do something nice for her for the hundredth time. Maybe the last half makes up for it but somehow I doubt it.

Evangelion is important on Yea Forums because it is important everywhere.

Welcome to the NHK

Actual originalfag here. Can confirm that the two anime most memed by far and most responsible for the seminal formation of Yea Forums culture were Azumanga and Yotsuba.

Eva was there of course, but back in the day we were all Invader Zim tier LOLrandumb spergs and Azumanga fit the meme zeitgeist of the day perfectly. I'm 30 and look upon zoomer "humor" with contempt, but in reality I was just as bad if not worse. We were just lucky that in the 90s and 00s social media wasn't a big thing yet.

In no particular order, these are the tittles that have had more influence in the history of Yea Forums

>Azumanga Daioh
>Youtsubato
>Evangelion
>Rozen Maiden
>Fate/Stay Night
>Code Geass
>Gurren Lagann
>Lucky Star
>Toradora
>Madoka Magica
>Oreimo

Special mentions to these series, while not as influential, they had an impact in the board culture at the time, even if people already forgot about them

Ghost in the Shell, True Tears, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, Highschool of the Dead, Star Driver, Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, Hayate the Combat Buttler, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, The World only God Knows, Jojo, Death Note, among many, many others.

Hitori Bocchi is our new culture

Attached: 1070578360116.jpg (300x173, 77K)

because it gets normalfags mad

I miss Geass shitposting

Attached: table-kun.jpg (300x320, 29K)

But k-on is was the definitive normalfag anime once upon a time

The most important single franchise for this site's culture is probably Touhou.

True, but nowadays it's more along the lines of /jp/ and the like. Still has it's roots but it's always in this weird state of being both niche and mainstream and it can't escape.
