You know how usually every new season of Pretty series introduces 7-10 new characters that debut with a model and stuff?
Prichan S2 only introduced 3 characters, one of which isn't even a proper part of arcade game playable cast yet and we aren't getting any new characters until at least Jewel 5, which will be released in, like 4 months.
That means, model team has a lot of time to goof around, considering that there is nothing else for them to do this year anymore, as they already have Dia model from Jewel Chance and Naru model from RL/Pripara.
By the way, it seems that Jewel 4 is focusing on Sara and Anju, so that's what we are getting for the end of second cour/early third cour.

Wait, I haven't seen any announcements for Jewel 3 songs besides Cutie Breakin yet, so I was just winging it there, based on how they revealed their team name, Ring Marry collection and how the next episode is trying to push them to work together.

I really love this episode. I'm glad I Believe isn't reforming so easily and that they still have a lot of work to get back to where they were. And their awkwardness together even though they both know they want the same thing, but just don't know how to approach it was super cute. I also really liked that their argument was framed as a positive thing and didn't lead to dumb unnecessary drama. They're great together, really looking forward to their re-debut.
Also Mio was pretty great this episode too. I love seeing her still fangirl over idols, and it was nice seeing her giving Hibiki the push she needed to make sure she communicated properly with Alicia. Since she knows that properly communicating her feeling to Aine, even if it was hard, was probably the most important thing for her.

Overall, Friends is better than Stars already, but, while it has a few good songs and a couple of really good ones, it still doesn't have it's own singularly amazing song like Diamond Happy or Rola's Miracle Force Magic. I guess some may argue for Identity, but listen to those three songs in succession and I feel like most people will notice that the first two have way more voice strength and emotion put into them. I'm hopeful that we will get an amazing song this season, so far the few S2 songs released have been pretty good.

Hirake's problems relate mostly to its decision to put focus almost exclusively on the eggs and none on Haruka's school/social life, but other problems include the formula strangling the show which is evident in frequent episodes where the Happy Star couldn't be more bland and shoehorned in, overuse of certain characters while hardly ever using others and a reliance on stock footage that we have to see literally every episode. The stock footage allocation plus the Happy Star means that if it's an A and B story episode most of the time whichever story gets the Happy Star is generally rushed and unsatisfying.
Hirake also lacks the emotional weight found in a number of Himitsu's episodes. Where Himitsu felt like a kids show that adults could also enjoy, Hirake feels like it's purely a kids show.
Once upon a time Cocotama was the most important part of my week and if I couldn't see it fot whatever reason then the world might as well have been ending, but now I just can't bring myself to care about it anymore other than pining for the days when non-protagonist humans had real personalities and lives of their own. It took me until Sunday to watch last week's raw after I missed it, and even then it was really only so I could rate it against the week's other episodes.
Contrary to my ramblings I don't hate Hirake, but it took a great show I loved and turned it into a mediocre toy commercial, something that will never not be a huge disappointment to me.

Prichan S1 is boring mainly because it tends to float out in the middle of nowhere with no real contextual, evocative foundation to which viewers can turn whenever Prism Stone reality-warping occurs. There is no real reason why lives should be so salient or revered in the Prichan storyline. Each episode features the Kiratts attempting new activities in order to promote their group, but for some reason, regardless of the nature of their successes, they just end up doing a live. While the shows aren't at all an issue in and of themselves, the lack of connection between them and any sort of activity featured in any of the episodes makes for a really jarring relationship between Prichan participants and the ultimate "end goal" of anyone participating in Prichan. If a Prichan idol can technically achieve such status by theoretically doing anything (considering how the platform is 1:1 analogous with jewtube), why are the lives in such high status? Why not just single out lives as a clear "reward" for doing anything else in Prichan? At least that way, everyone would realize what the end-goal of any Prichan activity would be.
Also, the chance button spawning coords doesn't make any sense either considering how the coords aren't introduced alongside any specified purpose. Each episode is egregiously detached from each other episode with regards to any semblance of an overarching story. Overall, it's the first season is mildly entertaining on its own, but it greatly suffers from a lack of plot direction and character development. At this point, the series has come into its own, but it had an awfully rocky start which mostly made me drop it for a while until I heard about its various, later developments.

Meltic Star subplot was quite contrived. Obviously, its nice to have a consistent rivalry for the main cast, but MS was handled in such a hamfisted fashion that it kind of forever tarnished the group to some degree. It's difficult to take them seriously at all even though they are supposedly world-renown.
The rivalry created between SoLaMi Smile and Dressing Pafe felt a lot more natural mostly because Shion was just doing her own thing and dealing with her own personal growth rather than explicitly attempting to belittle or frustrate the efforts of Laala, Mirei or Sophie. Anna gets a bit of development in S1, and her chemistry with Emo becomes somewhat more endearing as the season progresses, but she mostly remains rather flat as an "antagonist" to the Kiratts: often lacking any real motivation behind her attitude or actions outside of what effectively amounts to a Saturday-morning, monster-of-the-week villain scheme. If Anna was just more independent in her Prichan endeavors, it would establish her (and by extension, MS) as a Prichan powerhouse which would need to be overcome with an effort motivated by the Kiratts' commitment to their work, trust in each other and creative innovation rather than just Emo yelling "GAAHH, we can't let that drill-hair win!!"

Prichan doesn't have to be Pripara. In fact, for the sake of the franchise I general, it would be best if it weren't Pripara. That's why it was so upsetting to see how Prichan used live shows as the way to bring an episode to climax despite them being so utterly disconnected from everything else that typically happened during any given episode. It's like the people who were making Prichan came up with a fun idea (everyone in Prism Stone is now virtual youtuber status), but then abruptly failed to find a fun way to tie the vast potential of their premise together with a coherent, evocative goal or action for their characters. So, they just went, "Well, let's just throw all the Pripara shit in there," and then episode 1 of Prichan ends with a fucking live out of nowhere and the sudden appearance of the equivalent to a fucking legendary/contest coord despite the episode running its entire length without dropping the slightest purpose for such a thing to even exist. Then we rinse and repeat.
I'm not upset that Prichan isn't Pripara. I'm upset that Prichan didn't adequately utilize its own premise's potential, and so in desperation, resorted to a paper-mache Pripara skin in hopes that it would just help carry the show on its own. It's just lazy writing, and given its premise, Prichan could have done so, so much better than what its first season provided. So fuck off putting words in my mouth.

It's still important to note that it was in response to someone's claim of how S1 Prichan's bad press supposedly stems from "It's not Pripara" rather than criticisms derived from Prichan's own fundamental problems with its episodic formatting and poor handling of plot gimmicks. You're not wrong, though. But imagine what Prichan S1 might have been if there was a coherent plan to build up to concerts via Prichan activities. Or, what other direction might have the live shows taken in order to accommodate the new format of the Prichan world's near-unlimited possibilities for show creation? Maybe the Prichan lives could have taken on more independent and derivative styles like what we saw in street vs stage styles in Pretty Rhythm/KinPri.
