The romance stuff, mostly hinted, is generally in the side stories, which are all canon except for the high school stuff.

I was really surprised it got licensed honestly. LN publishers usually inly go for things that got an anime since that would hive it brand recognition. So I checked it out on sheer curiosity.
Didn't regret it for a second. and it is quickly made it to the top of my favorites list. I do hope an anime does come out sooner or later, just so that more people can hear about it.
