It was good for what it was but just got a passing grade. Nothing so good or so bad you that bother to remember it.

Read it. The story is just more consistent that way. They tried to modernize the story in the anime, but that inevitably created some plot holes. Not that the animation wasn't nice, but you know that old story where two lovers run to the train station and somehow miss each other? Now imagine if that story was modernized. You would wonder why the hell no one used the cell phone in their pocket.

I read the manga back when the anime came out. Only watched a couple episodes of the anime though, and then switched to the manga.

It was okay. Nothing to really talk about though.

It's a series that rides its interesting premise for the first couple volumes or so then gets boring, and pretty much just runs on and ends because the central plot, if there even was one (I can barely remember anything that happened in this manga) is extremely boring.

There was maybe one thread every day or two for Eva, and most of that was just regurgitating memes and most actual discussion of Eva was done as part of a wider topic unrelated to it. It was only when it got released on Netflix so the normalfags could watch it that it's become so popular.
