Are they going to do it?
Saotome Senshu, Hitakakusu
God I hope so. I hope she tries to act tough but gets weak in the knees.
Spar in his room to pump him up for the fight ? Sure.
She's gonna drain his balls clear of testosterone and he's gonna get rekt in the fight because of that.
He's gonna have Saotome on all fours
They are going to hold hands and kiss. Maybe interlock fingers.
Also fuck this drama arc, I just want to see her abs and them having dorky dates
Meh, given how much of a wimp he's started out as I'm glad to see some growth and more boxing in a boxing manga. The whole Idol/secret relationship aspect I can agree with but that's also a bit of a cultural divide on our part and at least it's led to more Muscle Cop
That's what I meant though. That director and major can go and shove that authorative attitude up their ass. I get that they're treating her like an idol but she is none. They aren't her managers/producers that make or break her career. She's an emerging talent, most other schools would bend over backwards to have her switch over.
I agree that satoru and the other girls getting some screen time and development is nice. That second love interest is stupid but I guess there's just no way around it and since things are already settled in that department it may actually become interesting instead of a shitty harem trope.
From my perspective they ultimately serve as the true antagonists with their "big fish in a small pond' bullshit, though I suppose I could see how in a boxing manga people would rather the big bad be someone the protag can beat the shit out of.
>That second love interest is stupid
Hard to call her an interest since she's pretty much already lost though I am curious to see more of MC's past to see if it matches up with my own theory on his scar. In the mean time she provides me with material for more crops/reaction pics
It is time.
I don't think it needs to have a big bad antagonist to begin with but if they feel the need to insert drama it shouldn't just be someone that either saotome or satoru can eventually beat to a pulp, it should a a form of drama that doesn't put any retarded roadblocks into their relationship
He's gonna knock her up and she'll have to quit boxing
Not trying to be a dick but what kind of drama would you rather have in a boxing/romance manga outside of combat or something testing the relationship?
>That director and major can go and shove that authorative attitude up their ass. I get that they're treating her like an idol but she is none. They aren't her managers/producers that make or break her career. She's an emerging talent, most other schools would bend over backwards to have her switch over.
Maybe not, but the crux is that they effectively hold her education and mom's residence hostage
Yes. YES!
Of course not, you want her to drain all his stamina so the guy busts his nose again?
>pretty much already lost
Yeah I don't see what can be done with it.
>I'm going to wait another year to tell you and fight your gf
Like bitch really you're going to let their relationship progress a further year, just shoot yourself now. Never mind fighting wise she's got no fucking chance of beating Saotome there's just no way that twiglet can catch up to her in a year to be even considered an opponent.
I feel bad for women athletes with shit like that. If they want a family the essentially have to give up at trying to be the best in their passion in many if not most cases. And if they want to be the best they gotta give up on a family. Thats a bitch and a half, y'know.
being thirsty makes a girl go crazy sometimes
But that's what I said. If it has to have drama make it boxing opponent based
Am I the retarded speedreader? How are they holding her moms residence hostage? I don't remember anything like that.
As for the education, not at all. Even for bog standard students switching schools isn't hard. Skilled athletes are welcomed with open arms. With her track record she should have headhunters contacting her for fancy private school scholarships. Nobody in the desolate hole that is umesaki public highschool is in any position to discipline their star athlete. They're entirely at her grace
Women can have children in their 30s at which point you're way past your prime for most sports anyways
>make it boxing opponent based
>it shouldn't just be someone that either saotome or satoru can eventually beat
Out of curiosity i looked it up and the current Female Heavyweight World Champion has a Daughter and is 31.
It hasn't been addressed (yet), but from the way the story is being written that seems to be the case, just look at how much trouble Saotome's in for a dumb paparazzi phone pic of her sitting next to someone.
I'm tired, it should have been should instead of shouldn't. So yes, someone they can eventually beat to a pulp.
But I don't really think it would suffer from a lack of drama to begin with. Of course the fights are supposed to be tense and some rivalry is welcome but that doesn't necessarily mean drama.
If I think about it thats actually for the better, most people aren't ready to be parents in their 20s are they?
Yeah, but that's what I was saying, the trouble is bullshit. The director really shouldn't be able to to shit and a major can't really do anything either. There could be some heavy media attention on saotome heaving a boyfriend but that's about it. The director and major are not even in a position to abuse power, they simply hold none in the current context.
Given how restrictive Japanese Schools are there's a good chance that Saotome is violating some rule that'd put the principle in the position to expel her. That's probably what gives him power over her.
As for the Mayor, that's less sensible. At best she might be able to convince some police to harass Saotome's family but either than that she doesn't have much over the girl. If Saotome came from a family in the Construction Business or something similar the situation would make more sense in relation to the situation with the Mayor. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
>principle
*Principal
Goddammit.
Sure, the director could do that. He is also in a position to just make some shit up and expel her. At which point his star athlete is gone, so he's left with nothing. And saotome can just go to pretty much any other school in the country since she's a fucking star athlete. As I said, she shouldn't even have to search, someone on her level most likely would've received offers by headhunters already. Saotome doesn't need umesaki (apart from wanting to stay in her established social environment), umesaki needs saotome.
Depends on what he makes up regarding her in your case. If he claims she was caught doping or I dunno drinking/fucking her boyfriend in the bathroom at school, there is no way that she can really comeback from that career-wise as far as high school boxing goes. When she's out sure, but until then she is going to be an outcast at best.
Depending on how bitter the old fuck is he could take them both down should she try to 'ruin' the current set-up.
But this is me being more cynical than this story warrants.
IC, it's all good I was just a little confused. For the most part I actually agree, though other people might find the big rival being a "big bad" type as hack sports manga writing and this isn't exclusively one particular genre. Personally I am kinda glad Muscle Cop hasn't turned into a cartoonish villain
Considering how colleges covered doping programs, rape and hazing rituals that lead to semi-accidental deaths I actually very much doubt that. But he's not even threatening her with made up shit, he's just harassing her without showing any effective leverage. A teenager responding to that with "yeah fuck you too old man I'm going to [insert elite private school that wants her because she massacred everything in her age class]" wouldn't be something unexpected at all. He even forced her to search for a training environment outside of his school, further decreasing what little he could offer to begin with.
Me too. If I got a choice this would be bonnouji with boxing and a little more attention on friends and dating. No need drama.
Good for her, that must have taken a lot of effort
>you will never enter your room and find a muscle girl waiting for you
The mangaka probably has some of the best muscle girls just purely in terms of anatomy. Most other artist's idea of a 'muscle girl' is a normal girl but she has abs and sometimes wears sports gear, this guy actually gives them biceps, delts, traps and the like. Its a nice change of pace.
Not a bad story overall either, nothing magic but still good.
reminder that it's impossible to find a cute, timid. and muscular tomboy who also happens to be a star athlete
Not with that attitude.
is it weird that I actually expected that someone would say this
It only means you've been here too long.
I mean exercise and being strong builds one's self-confidence quite a bit. You're not going to find a lot of athletes that are timid because of that.
Well how timid is she really? She has a boyfriend, she goes out with her friends, she is a boxer.
yeah but even then she was never the talkative type. even on the spotlight. she lives to box and to provide for her family (note the either dead or leaving dad)
