Tenki no Ko - First Impressions

A closed-doors invite-only screening party to celebrate the completion of the movie was held. First impressions below (Twitter):
>"I went to the preview party of Makoto Shinkai's new film, 'Tenki no Ko'. Even with natural disasters beyond the reach of human power, there's also a lot of love, daily life and adventure. I know it's crazy to say it now, but this is a powerful masterpiece. Yamamoto was also involved with the background art. Check it out in theaters!"

>"We've been to the screening party of 'Tenki no Ko'. It looks like it couldn't be advertised because it was completed at the last minute, but it's a masterpiece even better than 'Kimi no Na wa'! Go watch it!"

>shills
Nobody cares.

>shills
It's not Kyoani. Shinkai doesn't have paid shills.

It's gonna be exactly the same fucking movie as he always makes.

And that's a good thing.

Yea Forumstard pls

>big visual
>big expression
>big music
>big gesture
>big stupid boring shitty plot
>tiny smooth watery brains
clap clap clap clap clap

There's no way he lives up to the expectations after Kimi no Na Wa. Poor guy had everyone in Japan watching over his shoulder for his next work especially right before the Olympics. Leave it to Miyazaki to deliver a real masterpiece.

Didn't someone hinted that the movie will have a tragic ending once again?

not tragic but divisive

>makoto shitkai
Yeah no

The trailer already makes me wonder. Obviously just dispelling rain with a prayer isn't good, but how that leads to her clothes flying off, I do wonder.

Why can't Shinkai capture the feminist audience the way Ghibli movies did in the past?

which means shippers BTFO

No one cares about feminists

who even fucking ships Shinkai's cardboard cutouts

>miyacuck
lmao

>Yamamoto
Who?

Sounds promising. I can't wait for the hipsters to start seething in anger.

Oh there they are.

>Hina will become a gov't test subject
>Hina will need to be put down because her powers have gotten out of control
>Hina will have amnesia after using her powers against a Typhoon
>Hina will become society's big bad. She's the bad guy all along
>Hina will make a "Hina's Choice". She will not choose the MC.

It doesn't have a happy end hence it's worthless reddit trash for muh bittersweet retards.

>Muh climate change

Can this guy make something else for once? Tons of talent wasted on a shitty coming of age romcom melodrama between a teen boy and girl, wow how groundbreaking.

I fucking hate the character design in Shinkai's movies

It's Masayoshi Tanaka, most people love it.

I don't mind it in other series like Reborn, but in Your Name is looked absolutely generic

What do you want him to do? Transformers?

He already did that, or so I've heard
It flopped apparently.

i'll probably watch it, think its mediocre, and have avoid the inevitable threads of shills versus shitposters for the next year.

so about par for course for Shinkai or Kyoani.

>Can this guy make something else for once?
Better not, that horrible Ghibli rip-off is still one of the worst movies of this decade.

Cute

Well, at least they're both better than Trigger.

TRIGGER is okay but inconsistent. I'd pay good money to erase my memory of FranXX, Kiznaiver, or Inou battle, but KLK and Gridman were pretty fun.

Shinkai is good but i prefer when he was using his talent to make stuff with more serious emotional impact like 5-cm, now he seems to going entirely ultra-commercial. (Having RADWIMPS do the OST is the most obvious example.)

As for Kyoani, i've never been able to bring myself to like any of their stuff.

hope she get a cameo again

It's Mitsuha's turn
Unless Shinkai still has a bullshit reason to cast Hanakana.

what a downgrade

shinkai is a known misogynist

wtf i love shinkai now

What's the point of this "first impressions" bullshit? You don't get to see anything yourself and rely on a handful of people who did to confirm your positive/negative expectations. I'm looking forward to the movie but these tweets do nothing for me

Children Who Chase Lost Voices is better and prettier than any Ghibli movie.

>Can this industry make something else for once? Tons of talent wasted on a shitty coming of age romcom melodrama between a teen boy and girl, or isekai, or idolshit wow how groundbreaking

Do I have bad taste if I enjoyed "children who chase lost voices" most? And "the place promised in our early days" second? Your name was pretty and had atmosphere, but the level of "lmao red string of fate plot convenience" and "xdddd teenage boys like tiddies right" bullshit made it fade on me after watching it a second time, not that "the place promised in our early days" doesn't have the former.
But all of these three seem to have a bit of an emphasis on rural japan, which I dig. Especially the rural railways.

"Tenki no Ko" looks to be a bit more of a fantasy, hopefully with less insulting plot convenience.

Yes, I'd prefer something more along the relationship shared by Patzu and Sheeta, or that one kid and Kiki.

its going to be overrated like your name

Your taste is fine
It's been commented that Your Name has a number of themes that were appreciated by the Japanese audience and went over gaijin heads, I think CWCLV and PPED were more focused on the character interaction and that's why some people prefer those

(You)
It's several times shittier than even Tales of Earthsea.

>190513745
Nothing is worse than Tales of Earthsea. Nothing
Not even Cat Returns, unless you're one of the inbreds who think it's good and a worthy follow up to Whisper of the Heart

Attached: look of disapproval.jpg (1120x630, 124K)

But that's not saying much, ToE was brilliant.

>a worthy follow up to Whisper of the Heart
If anything it's discount Spirited Away with cats. But no, it's the third worst Ghibli, after Earthsea and Ocean Waves.

Freelancer who worked on it (probably without knowing much about the story before watching it yesterday) says that he 'loved the ending'. twitter.com/nobuyukitakeuch/status/1149832440069808128

There's nothing wrong with a consensual sex with a huge cat

Which will you do?

Go to a museum and walk around or sit down and watch a Shinkai's film?

What's the difference? Shinkai's movies are the highest form of art.

What museum? This is important.

Do any museums display the NTT Docomo building?

THE local art museum (if any)
Probably not.

I have military arms museum 300m from where i live
ill go there but only if i can also visit an old fort that's a bit further away

Weekly Shonen Magazine cover.

You think so?

Local art museums here are shit
Watch the movie then I guess.

is that nadeko?

Will it have a manga adaptation?

source?

Yes.
Yes. Starts on the 25th.
