Do you guys see yourselves still watching anime and reading manga in your 70's and 80's?
Or do you think that you'll grow out of it?
Do you guys see yourselves still watching anime and reading manga in your 70's and 80's?
Fuck no
I don't think I'll live that long.
I will not and cannot jerk off to anything that isn’t illegal in 3D
I don't see the current economic system lasting that long. Being reliant on autismbux, that means I'll probably starve.
No there are a handfull of good ones and like one good new one every 3 years, not enough content and the medium is so built on tropes that once you're bored theres no return
>70's and 80's
I don't think i'll even make it to 40 user.
I'll probably still read manga, at the very least.
Nah. I'm done after One Piece ends. It's already the only thing I read
I'm already in my mid 40's, I'm not stopping anytime soon.
Yes, but I hope the anime industry slow severely.
I can't stand the over saturated shit show right now, this season alone there are like 17 shows airing.
Serious japan is fucked up, I hope their population cuts in half and the economy tanks, so we can have less but higher production anime.
I'm sick of all these mediocre budget shows that are thrown because they make a marginal revenue margin.
I see myself watching manga yeah
as for anime I think I grew out of it now
Imagine thinking like this. Just cause you're a elitist brainlet doesn't mean that most anime suck.
I'll watch it with my robowaifu.
Hopefully VR will exist by then so i can live out my SAO fantasies.
>Doesn't pay any anime
>Is just some fat fuck American who sits on his dirty ass reading
>Wants half the population gone and the economy to tank....to somehow create more high quality shows
A person like you is better off dead then breathing. Commit that.
Maybe manga. I imagine at 80 I'll have trouble doing some of my other hobbies, like videogames or cooking. But manga seems like something an old man could read without a problem.
probably, only unfinished berserk.
>do you think that you'll grow out of it?
Well sometimes I just get tired of anime. I started watching again this year after being 4 years without touching it.
I don't expect to live that long but sure. It's gone in and out in phases for my whole life, I dunno why that would change.
I don't see myself even hitting my 30's.
maybe, depends how good the anime and manga are in 50 years
My 65 father still reads manga and watches Godzilla, so yes
>you are now imagining that when you are 70-80 all your favorite directors/manga authors will be dead or retired
It doesn't have to be new anime and manga. With the amount of manga being produced, you'll have a lot to choose from even if the newest manga isn't good. I think the biggest issue could be availability. If piracy laws get stricter and we can't read it online, or if we live in something like the Onions Green future most people can't afford to use computers, or if our robot overlords don't want us to read manga.
>in my early 20s I always said to myself that I would never get tired of anime
>tfw almost 30 now and I can barely bring myself to finish an anime series a year
I started around 25 years ago and haven't tired of animus, so probably
I dont think anyone over 15 should watch anime or read manga
Old people spend an awfully long time reading books and watching TV, so yeah, I very much see myself watching anime and reading manga in my 70s and 80s. Not so sure about my 40s or 50s though.
Will anime even make it to 2070?
Like we're gonna be paying each other in trash cubes, I don't know how the industry could survive that
Im 36, married, stable job/income yes, I've become quite the normalfag. And yet here I am.
>The ride never ends.
Most anime is so fucking bad, lowest form of entertainment for sure
that's like asking people if they'll still watch television or films in their old age
one is never too old for low-brow entertainment
A reminder that to get your approximate life expectancy you should average your grandparents/parents life expectancy (maybe with some obvious adjustments like drinking/smoking). If they died at 90, you have the chance to live at least as much.
I'll read like 5-6 manga currently. After those end, I'll probably stop reading manga all together because I'll develop old man syndrome and start thinking everything new is shit.
If I don't get a gf to drag me out of it, sure.
I'm still living in hope that I'll be able to live and work in Japan one day despite knowing barely any Japanese and that it is nothing like actual anime.
>lowest form of entertainment for sure
Try picking up a random new book, 99% chance its absolute trash.
You seriously want to be a wageslave in one of the worst countries to work in?
>in your 70's and 80's?
Yes.
>reason

Japan is literally the best place to live for a random user, not counting the microstates. Being native is important though.
Science is making rapid progress in anti-aging treatments. If you're under forty there's basically no way you don't make it past the final cutoff point. The only things to worry about are suicide, car wrecks (which is also soon to be solved due to self driving autos), and unfriendly superintelligences (which is hard to predict, but I'm optimistic).
The real question is whether you think you'll still be consuming traditional anime and manga, hundreds of years from now when we have unlimited computing power to use for personalized VR worlds.
Of course, why not? If both anime/manga and I survive that long. I live for that shit.
I'd just be happy to make it to old age with my mind intact. If I can just manage that then I'll do whatever the fuck that I want that I'm still physically able to do.
Maybe, I don't watch as much as I used to but then again I've probably only been watching for about 10 years. When I first started it felt so fresh and different, now it feels kinda generic and as of the last few seasons I've become even more selective with what I watch. I used to never drop stuff, and would force myself to the end of something I picked up even if I found it boring, now I drop a lot more stuff and have started to only bother with things I really think I'll be interested in. I still enjoy it though, but really manga and re-watching my old favorites again is more fun now than seasonal stuff, unless of course the seasonal stuff is something exceptional like a new season of Non Non Biyori, or an adaption of a decent manga.
I'm killing myself at 35, so no.
The real amusement would be to read manga in a simulation in a simulation in a simulation.
I'm killing myself tomorrow. Why wait til age 35?
>what are regular tv shows
fuck off back to Yea Forums homosexual
read a manga about a simulation in a simulation
I hope I never get that old, had to suck watching your body and mind crumble to dust with every day
>robowaifu
I still believe bioengi-kun will bring the era of racoon daughterwaifus to us
godspeed you little bastard
this, most of us will not make it to the 30s or 40s
21 yo here and already tired
I don't see myself living that long.
yes and is gonna be awesome.
In most third like countries like mine, old people is left behind by the youth, so they are alone a lot of time doing nothing, dying spending their last breaths watching tv, drinking alcohol. Now i will be watching and playing a lot of shit, thanks to the globalization and the grow of the market and those decades anime is gonna be a more big economy, and animation in general, for the advances in technology, most people is gonna be able of do more animation for less cost and time, so more countries (china first) are gonna produce a lot of original content in their countries (maybe even new countries are going to show up with shows, right now for example are some latinos making animations short shows for tv).
So i'm gonna have more anime, more videogames, more porn, more snacks with no sugar that i'm will ear with no worries of have diabetes. Is gonna be all good unless some really fucked up thing happen to the world like a big war or something, wich i don't see possible
based optimist user
I really like your hopefulness
People have been saying this shit about the future since the 50s. It is not happening.
Come on man you should always hope for a better future.
Your current lifestyle was a scifi not only in 50s, but even in 80s.
>be me
>be in a nursing home
>poop my diaper
>CNA comes to change me
"Do you like animes, little missy? Have I ever told you that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is the greatest anime of all time?"
>"Yes, Mr. user, you tell us every day. Now hold still for a moment."
"Oh, okay. DON'T TOUCH ME THERE. Oh, okay. Do you like animes, little missy? Have I ever told you that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is the greatest anime of all time?"
>"Yes, Mr. user, you tell us every day. Alright, Mr. user, I have to go now. See you later. Bye."
"Oh, okay."
>be me
>be alone again
>poop my diaper again
so you're saying you'll have rubbish taste even then huh?
literally me
We live in the future.
The future sucks.
Our times are the worst ever except everything before.
I have too take care of my sick mother, I also still have some anime to watch and vidya to play.
Shouldn't you be scanlating Kireicake?
Nope, you have the wrong guy
