Do you own any physical copies? Post your collection, others will rate your taste and levels of autism based upon it.
Pic is unrelated to me, I only have books because obtaining manga locally is expensive and unreliable, probably going to buy up some in the future regardless but nothing for now.
Owning manga
I think I have around 850 manga volumes. But I haven't counted in a while.
That's insane, got any pics? How long have you been collecting?
There are people around with significantly larger collections. I have been collecting without much zeal for some 15 years. I think my first series was Ranma.
But no pictures.
>15 years
Ah, understandable then, and yeah I'm well and aware there are much larger collections but still, that's pretty nice, hope even the earlier ones are still in good shape.
Back then I was not very careful with books unfortunately. So many of the old ones have taken some notable damage. I have considered replacing a few of the series. But I haven't gotten around to it.
F
I’ve got the Claymore box set, HOTD omnis, Berserk Deluxe and Giganto Maxia
Who the hell counts individual volumes instead of series? I have an entire library of manga and I barely know how many series I have
I just recently started my collection.
I see Orange, good taste
Own all volumes of
>Fire Punch
>Witch Hat Atelier
>Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou

There is probably more that I'm missing, I just have been reading Shonen Jump since they ran the magazine in the U.S. and I've always just preferred to have a physical volume. I'll read a manga online if it's not available physically though. The series I really regret not picking up in my teens is Ultimate Muscle, some of the volumes go for $100+ now.
An actual connoiser on Yea Forums not just a shitposter? What year is this?
I wish I hadn't bought that many manga and taken better care of them so I could sell them easily. These things take so much space and are a big pain when you have to move.
>Zatch Bell 1-25
>Shaman King 1-27
>Sgt. Frog 1-14
>Digimon Tamers 1-3
>PokeSpe 1-22
>One Piece Omnibus 1-6
Been buying manga since '09, but I've preferred digital over time so my collection has been stagnant.
>My wife and I
In cases like this, you need to nod and pretend that the "wife" is actually real. Don't upset user. Just nod and smile.
My tiny collection, I like to get the first volume of series I enjoy. I don't have the money nor the space to get a complete collection. Berserk being the exception.
normalfag tier
comfy tier
tryhard tier
Small collection, but I like it.
user...did you print out stickers of internet memes and stick them onto your guitar??
get the useless one out of there
Nah they're from redbubble. It was like 5$ for all of them
I got rid of almost all.
I have almost all of Vagabond and Blade of the Inmortal, and all Kenshin.
Now ocassionally buy other mangas and MiA.
>unopened manga and booster boxes
why even spend money on something if you're not going to get enjoyment from it
No. When I read manga, I do it on an e-reader because it's the only sane way to consume it, although I wish we had a 2 page spread format reader. But then even if we had it, manually ordering the pages every time would be a pain in the ass.
If I was going to buy manga in 2019, I'd do it digitally.
>manually ordering the pages every time would be a pain in the ass.
I do it for my porn collection.
its even worse if the wife is real
I don’t typically buy manga, I buy books. I’m not saying that in a snobbish way. I buy classics - Tolstoy, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, James Joyce, Tennyson, Rilke, Goethe, William Gaddis, Julio Cortazar, Ford Madox Ford.
But I put my HxH volumes on the same shelves as them. Proudly. There’s a feeling that resonates deeply with me - that the storming of the palace onward is capital-A ART. That the series’ main focus is to render humanity and nothing more or less. The way all the extremes of human nature are displayed in the Chimera Ant arc feels like reading a sort of contemporary Odyssey. It is epic in the original sense of the word -- something majestic that shines light on the nature of living.
Seems like a pain in the ass. I've got a program that splits double pages automatically anyway so I can view them on a paperwhite.
Honestly, I'm surprised at how poor e-book piracy is. Finding LNs is a pain in the ass, but I guess when you combine a niche like reading, with a niche like knowing nip, AND a niche like owning an e-book reader even though they're cheap as fuck these days and so nice to use, you wind up with a pretty poor state of affairs.
I could never go back to print media. Especially for manga, where you're turning pages way faster.
I mainly collect the cds and if possible vinyl
Do you have the ending to Vagabond?
Manga cost around 2-3 $ in my country (used to cost around 1-2 $ tho) so have a bunch of them.
>the ending to Vagabond
Ahahaha.
;_;
I got
>Yotsuba&
>Azumanga Daioh
>Berserk
>Jojo parts 1-5
>Punpun
>few 5toubun volumes
No pic cause they're not on a bookshelf nor displayed. Only yotsuba is easily reachable, since whenever I grab it, it is always a good read.
Old as fuck pic (March 2017), but here's mine
started collecting about a year ago
I only buy good manga.
user what do you think about the things i have
I used to have tons of english/local manga from over 15 years of collecting but after getting decent enough at japanese I've tried to only collect japanese manga/light novels
Here's my entire collection:
>Tokyo ghoul + light novels
>Akame ga kill
>Hellsing
>Drifters
>Goblin slayer
>King of wolves + Japan
>Another
>Made in abyss
>All you need is kill
>Jigokuraku
>Voynich Hotel
>Stigmata
>Satsuriku no tenshi
>Voices of a distant star
>Nenene
>Cross x Regalia
>The Count of Monte Cristo
>Lovecraft's novels illustrated by Tanabe Gou
>first volume of One punch man
>first volume of Overlord (light novel is better)
I couldn't take one picture because they're all over the place. I also plan to buy Punpun and the promised neverland.
I've decided to give it a try starting this month
What I've bought so far
>Dungeon Meshi vol 1
>Girls last tour vol 1
>yotsuba vol 14
I've tried building a collection in the past. The mistake I had back then was buying a lot of manga I hadn't read beforehand. Now I will treat physical volumes as a nice way to re-read some of my favourites.
Which half are you going to give to the wife when she devorses you?
Its not manga but close enough.
I buy physical copies of ones I want a physical copy of, pirate everything else, fuck paying for digital. Manga is pretty much the last media that is physical copy focused, fuck all you faggots that want it to go digital only like everything else.
I'm excited for Witch Craft Works vol 12 this month
I own the original Japanese 10 volume edition of BLAME!, as well the Japanese volumes 11 and 16 of Dorohedoro, and 38 of Berserk.
I've seriously pared down the amount of books I've owned over the years. I used to have around 300 volumes.
I've got a set of Video Girl Ai, some volumes of H2, and various other things hiding somewhere behind the books. Also have a copy of A Drifting Life and a handful of the Monogatari novels.
based
Pathetic collection, only one complete series
Here’s a from a couple months ago. I’ve added a fair amount since then but I don’t feel like taking a picture
>inb4 shonenbabby
Yeah yeah I know
when you decide you don't want some of your volumes anymore, what do you do with them? I have a bunch I thought I would enjoy keeping long-term but now I don't want them anymore.
ebay? donate them to some poor unknowing fucker in a book drive? trash them and recoup no money from them?
i have like 15 volumes and i would happily give them away
i dont want to gather up useless junk
Why the fuck is FMA not in the right order ?
I only have one punch man first 3 volumes and that darling in the franxx mango that I can't read because I don't speak jap/chink.
Honestly I didn’t notice until a couple of days ago, I’m an idiot
My tablet camera is shit.
I've started collecting over a year ago but I only have a few newer, shorter series since I don't have the money or shelving space for anything too big
This is why I buy what I know I'm going to re-read in the future.
I've got my eye on a few more series, but I only buy manga when it goes on sale like twice a year at Indigo.
good for you. over a decade ago when I bought them I thought the same, but here we are.
Those Berserk deluxe editions look great but I really don't want to get them only for the scenario to be Dark Horse going out of business. I have a feeling they won't actually get round to doing the entire series but good they finally did this. Also The Walking Dead ended this month.
pretty based
Nice, I got the Berserk deluxes as well.
True, but at this rate it's equally likely that Miura will never finish it so there isn't an entire series to complete anyway
classic
I know it is a copy and paste but I find it weird Ford Maddox Ford is thrown in there. Such a random choice.
I think we'll get the ending in 2-3 years at the most.
>I think we'll get the ending in 2-3 years at the most.
Berserk is going to end in 3 chapters?
I got most Yotsuba volumes, FLCL, all of Bakuman, first volume of A Certain Scientific Railgun, and a couple Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei volumes.
Got a great deal on Bakuman, about $3 for each volume from a thrift store
I'm guessing he meant the Deluxe Editions will be caught up in 2-3 years, but even then it might be longer
Nah unless they increase the release pace, the deluxes will take 4-5 years to catch up (3 vols per year with 3 tankobans in each). Anyone who thinks Berserk itself is ending in less than 10 years is delusional.
