8/10 episode, I liked it. There's room for improvement but it feels more competent than Index 3. I really like the artstyle they're going with though and how colorful everything is compared to how colorless the last adaption felt. Gives it a good sense of identity. But that OP needs work. Filler girl had a cute design and was fun. Okamoto hits the right notes as usual. Though in all honesty when adapting Accel Manga it's a pretty low bar to scale. Still enjoyed it and it feels promising.

The fact that they are catching up after only like a decade or two says otherwise. The fact is, currently each of the Level 5s can take on pretty strong magicians aside from maybe Mugino. Now ofcourse the super high tiers are out of reach for some of the level 5s, but for the most part they can fuck up a lot of lower magicians all the way up to borderline saint tier, with people like Kakine and Accel being capable of going above that as well. I don't think there's going to be any Accel-only fans. There might be some people that dodge railgun and just watch/read Index and Accel but I don't think it'll be anywhere near the level of railgun-only fans. That only happened because S1 of Railgun is basically a different genre compared to both the source material and the Sisters arc is just really fucking well adapted. I have a feeling that the railgun-only fans are going to be unhappy with Railgun 3 since they've got a big arc and much less room for filler.
