I drew a lot in elementary and middle school and gained some respect from people who might have otherwise bullied/ignored me. In highschool I got addicted to gaming and pretty much went on hiatus for the most part until a few years after graduation and I decided to pick it back up. I think as I grew, so did my ability to critique myself into making each drawing the best I could, despite not having drawn any manga/anime character in so long.

I think Naruto was good until the end. Gaara retrieval is probably the weakest arc for me but still it's a lot better than average shonen.

I can, but likely a sketch as I'm busy with other projects. It just can't be sensual or pairing the two. If those are the cases, it's nothing personal. I just don't want to dive into any of that if at any event I attract a crowd in the future.

Non-artists are basically worthless when it comes to criticism of your fundies. They just say “oh this is nice!” or “this looks a bit wonky here” and won’t tell you what’s wrong with your art on a fundamental level. Your colored rendering is sub par (the way you render folds and fabric is a good example), and your movements lack gesture. Your faces can look extremely off model at times. That in itself isn’t bad but your art doesn’t communicate “this is how I stylistically want these faces to look” but more “I don’t understand what I’m drawing.” Work on your extreme perspectives too, this drawing shows that you don’t have the best grasp on it. That being said, it’s absolutely ok to start your manga. As long as your conscious of your shortcomings and work on them, you’ll improve as you go.

Thanks I really appreciate it! Yeah if I drew that one now I’d probably of taken my time on the perspective. It was about half a year ago I think. But even now I have shortcomings as you mention. And if I commit to a manga, it surely would provide practice in of itself.

I think your art is quite fantastic! It could very well be the real deal. As a fellow artist, if I could give some feedback: I feel like you could focus a bit more on the posing of the lower half of your characters bodies. Some works, especially have really good upper body posing, but they are unproportially dynamic in contrast to their quite static lower half I've seen this in a few of your works. Secondly, the faces could be a bit wider. The thin faces makes it feel a bit like a shoujo manga. That being said these are just some nitpicks to make your art even better than it already is.

while it;s cool and all to draw/trace other artists' work, unless you're making a hentai, no one really cares about whatever spinoff of naruto you make unless your name is masashi kishimoto. you're walking the path of a sonic fanfic writer.

It’s a steep slope. But I feel like if it can pass a threshold of expectation, it’s worth going for. I believe if enough people enjoy the Boruto series with Kishi’s name on it, surely an alternative could as well. But finding the right platform to release it would also be part of the puzzle.
