I don't know. But extrapolating from your image, by the 2030's all anime will look like Samurai Jack.
like this
youtu.be
00 > 80 > 90 >>> 20 >> literal shit >> 10
based
More CGI
10 >> 00 >>>>>> 90 >>>>>> 80
Sorry boomers
80s to 90s was the only decade where it actually got worse instead of better.
20s is basically SSY
will noses exist by 2030?
3D
80s man.
Was about to post this. Like it or not, 2D is dying.
In 20's noses will mostly disappear, faces will become rounder and hair will look like hats with couple of lines sticking out here and there. But I don't think we'll have any less shading than we have now, maybe more gloss effect.
The downside is that designs will be super simple, the upside is that the animation will be better on average.
Why did her nose recess back into her face?
I'm pretty sure the designs will get simpler AND the animation would get even worse.
can we stop pretending that anime pre 2000s wasn't capable of producing garbage?
I hope not.
what's your problem with noses?
I am just trying to stay hopeful man. I mean, not EVERY show will be Hisomaso or Mob Psycho, but with simpler designs they wouldn't have a choice but to have more movement to fill in all the page count per episode.
how about you stop being so nosey and mind your own business
90s>00s>80s>10s>70s
I don't get the hate for the 90s designs, they seem like a more refined late 80s design.
You have to be 18 to post here
The 90s designs are find. The hate usually came from people cherry picking questionable designs from some shows to represent the 90s (Cyber-Marionette J, for example).
And that´s good
Round and pastel coloured.
This, the anime is developing in the cute potato way, and that's great.
>AND the animation would get even worse.
Why would you think this? As anime's gradually lost its detail over the decades, the average anime's animation has gotten better.
The garbage is just forgotten, so anons compare every seasonal anime to a few golden classics.
>soulless
>soul
>soul
>soulless
>?
Pattern hasn't been going long enough to know for sure, but my guess is soulless.
Singularity between 2D and CGI, shows will use both and just pick whichever is cheaper to use for any given scene
Depends on the kind of 90s design you look for.
The 90s designs that people tend to like the most overlap with the late 80s artstyle or the early 00s artstyle.
If we isolate the 90s design style that exclusively belongs to the 90s, most 90s anime looks really bizarre.
>soul/soulless
I think you have the wrong board. Yea Forums is that way.
Slayers has the best art style we will ever get, you can't convince me otherwise.
>best art style we will ever get
Urushihara would like to have a word with you
>one of the best looking anime of the 2000s was hentai
Less detailed art doesn't mean that we get better animation as a trade-off. It's kinda like saying if an anime studio made 10 anime instead of 20, then they would have double the budget.
One of the best looking anime of the 80s was also a hentai.
Remember that most users here are burgers so overly simplistic assumptions like this are par for the course.
That's not what I meant to say. I'm just saying that the average post-2000 TV anime is better animated than the average pre-2000 TV anime and the quality
But a large part of that does in fact have to do with detail. You'll notice that most heavily detailed anime are borderline slide shows, and the few heavily detailed anime that do have good animation tone down the detail when the animation requires it, creating a visual whiplash.
Plenty of the best animated TV anime for the last 15 years is better than any pre-2000 TV anime in terms of animation, only topped by pre-2000 OVAs and movies.
Forgot my point too is that I don't see animation getting weaker in the 2020s. If anything, rounder, less-featured designs are even easier to animate because there's less things to fuck up.
or basically any small production anime
>we will never go back to 80s art
Is it because of the cheekbones?
Actually, that's been done a few times now.
What we'll really never go back to is cels or trying to emulate them in any way.
Late 80s art was a mistake.
I like the rounder, moe artstyle of the early 80s more.
Megalo Box tried to emulate cels, kind of.
It ended up emulating early 2000's digital shows instead.
2000s is my personal favorite style
Will we ever go back to the late 90s anime CGI?
That era when Digital Colored Anime looked the best. Before the janky-ish HD era.
*ahem*
>CGDCT

90>80>10>00
All of the best CGDCT anime are 00s though, it saw a drop in quality and quantity in the 10s
yeah but style wise 10 is better
I remember seeing this in the horror section at Blockbuster.
