Make her a more active participant in literally every aspect of her character. More fight scenes(specifically make her actually do things in many of the fights before the timeskip), more in involved in the actual plot. For example have her actually get training in part 1 and be a useful member of the team in some role like genjutsu most likely. Build an actual relationship between her and the rest of the team. Her character would immediately improve if she actually had a close relationship with Sasuke when they were teammates. Essentially do literally anything more with her character than Kishi did and she would massively improve as a character. Some of the movies are actually a good example of a better version of Sakura.

There's a few changes i'd make here and there. While Naruto learns the summong jutsu and Sasuke learns Chidori, Sakura would go to Kurenai and learn a bit of genjutsu. This becomes useful when Kabuto's genjutsu in the chuunin exam finals doesn't work on her.
It also becomes useful when Naruto fights against Gaara. Sakura could distract Gaara for a minute with genjutsu, though it wouldn't do much because the sand spirit can dispell the genjutsu. But it makes her seem useful in the fight.

During the Sasuke retrieval arc, she would go with Sasuke, being blinded by her love, but then she finds out what the Oto ninjas are doing to Choji, Kiba, Neji etc. So then she is at the valley of death with Sasuke, and has a fight with him. Sasuke defeats her effortlessly, chidoris her leg off (making her a cripple), touches her boobs and implies that he wants to rape her. But then Naruto shows up. Cue epic Naruto vs Sasuke showdown.

Give her a backstory where her parents were cold to her, never really showing her love. Due to this she develops a personality where she feels the need to please everyone so she can feel accepted. Sasuke being the edgy character never really showed her acceptance or love so she continues to try and please him. Since he leaves without her ever getting the chance she chases after him doing everything in her power to get him to accept her so that she has peace of mind. Due to not being able to resolve this internal struggle she becomes a medical ninja to help others to help ease the failure of Sasuke never accepting her. Eventually she starts to have a breakdown due to the stress of having to please everyone and all comes to head when she fails to save someone during a mission. She essentially has a mental breakdown, goes through self discovery and comes to accept that not everyone needs to accept her. Growing into an independent character.

After the chuunin exams, she has a brief thing with Shikamaru. When sasuke leaves the village, she goes "don't leave sasuke-kun! i'll do anything... ANYTHING if you don't leave" (but he doesn't care). She tells Naruto "if you can get back Sasuke-kun, i'll let you touch my boobs".

My headcanon is that this is what Hashirama's was.
