I don't remember much from digimon tamers since I watched it as a kid except that it was weirder than the other series, but I definitely like it more than that other garbage.
I still hate hyouka, madoka and never intend to bother with HxH 2011, but still it's an improvement.

Yamada manga sucked. I hated it after it revealed more and more witches. I would have preferred Yankee-kun to megane-chan adaptation more.

What kind of hipster bases the quality of the show on its fanbase? CGI is a valid argument, but I don't really care if it's done well and isn't too distracting.
On the other hand, the show's premise, plot and setting are one of the most creative and interesting in my recent memory. It's also refreshing to see some buddhist symbolism in contrast with the overused christianity. OST is also great.

That doesn't mean much. What you might find "pleasant to look at" might displease someone else. Especially because you outright dismiss "promo art" and "fan art", which in itself can be very pleasant to look at, often more so than screencaptures.

Dude it's a grid with (Your) favorite show. Of course it is supposed to look pleasant to (You) first and foremost.
If it ends up looking like shit you will get negative feedback for it, much like you would get negative feedbacks for the shows you put in it if people do not like them.
