Hey Yea Forums, a little bird told me that this movie made people very angry.

Is anyone watching it today?

/u/fags aren't people

Apparently, it has something to do with the yuri undertones being discarded because it was actually just a genuine friendship instead of homosexuality.

I'm watching it anyway.

It was never a yuri series

I can understand why shippers would be upset, but I feel this gives the series a sense of finality that is sorely missing in a lot of other SoL/drama type shows.

SoL point is lack of finality.

That's a good point but keep in mind that this series is not static like others. There's definitive progress and character conflict, even if they remained focus on their mundane lives.

I'm not angry, just disappointed

Attached: kumiko_disappointed.png (608x686, 333K)

>tfw don't care about pairings and just fap to cute girls

/u/ fags upset that they were baited. hetfags disappointed because she broke up with him so she could focus on the band with the promise of getting back together after it's over

lmfao wow way to suck, eh Kyoanus. Really reading the room.

I just like seeing schoolgirls lusting for their senseis.
Do Reina and Conductor dude get together?

>

>

I don't know about you but that sounds completely in-character and realistic to boot.
Kumiko is kind of a bitch after all, and that's what makes her so good.

>literally the exact same shit that was confirmed when S1 aired
>MUH BASED KYOANI KNOWS WHAT'S REALLY UP THEY'RE GONNA TAKE THE YURI ROUTE YOU'LL SEE

What was about all that adolescence? What all I'm saying is, time isn't going to heal this wound.

Dead IP. Kyoanus in flames.

The only canon yuri couple
Wish we got a spin-off of these two fucking each other like rabbits in college

Attached: Natsuki_381f41_6224408.jpg (697x1000, 169K)

Kyoani can still redeem themselves in the last season and make Kumiko-Reina canon. Fuck the source material. If they dont want Hibike to flop they will pursue a yuri ending.

Adolescence is all about figuring out if your personal life takes over your education. Mostly, it's no. Relationships ARE a distraction to achieving the goals you want.

I've been looking forward to this for weeks, don't care about the het vs /u/ I just want to see Kumiko on the big screen

based kumiko poster

I've not watched it and probably won't, Not really interested in Kumiko and bitch boy forming a relationship or attempting too.

I want to cumin Kumiko

Kumiko ends with Shoe but he has no screentime, no voice or vote in their relationship and Kumiko clearly lust over Reina who has by far more intimate moments with her. After all this shiptease with Reina and no development with Shoe, what kind of audience is supposed to feel satisfied with this?

They get together again in the last novel and it sticks through the timeskip so there is a clear winner.

Yurifags are mentally ill, so this is to be expected.

I don't think they ever actually teased a relationship with Reina. It was much more of a deep friendship. It might be indistinguishable to yurifags, but that's what it always was.

As for Shoe, l can't really speak for him since it's clear that the relationship they have isn't really important.

>Get excited
>Accidentally read a spoiler tag in this thread
I feel a genuine dread. This show made me cry so many times. I just wish I could be with Kumiko.

Kumiko will be just fine. If this series has shown us anything, it's that Kumiko makes the best of the circumstances she's given.

>They get together again in the last novel
Knew it.

>I don't think they ever actually teased a relationship with Reina. It was much more of a deep friendship.

>Oguro: Right, right. Somehow, it felt like I was seeing a real yuri work for the first time.
>Ishihara: It does look like that. Well, from our point of view.
KyoAni clearly knew that they were doing.

I was personally angry over the fact that they STILL didn't win the fucking competition rather than those two's forced relationship.

Kumiko suddenly liking Shuichi after ignoring him for 2 seasons is such a bullshit move by Kyoani and it just came out of nowhere. Fuck them.

Kumiko is very kumicute

Based.

Rare Kumikos are all that matter.

They already announced more anime

Oguro and Ishihara are obviously crazy yurifags

>Ishibara is a yurifag
>It was Ishihara's decision to have Kumiko and Shuuichi date in the movie despite it being against the anime canon

Attached: 1543591691707.jpg (1135x800, 112K)

I'm gonna watch it but it's not screening in my city yet. July 16th can't come any sooner.

Attached: 1552939460718.png (876x970, 756K)

I always read it as Kumiko and Reina expecting very different things from each other and not really knowing how to articulate that. Kumiko seems to be sexually attracted to Reina, possibly romantically, and looks up to her as role model in S1 until Reina pulls Kumiko up to her level. Reina is looking for something closer to a soulmate in Kumiko, and is clearly in love with Taki-sensei, but she's also clingy and intense enough that it's easy to read her interactions with Kumiko as obsessive teenage love. Their relationship slowly changes over the course of the series as they learn how to accommodate each other.

That makes sense, though. They probably knew when production started that Takeda was working on the third year novels. It would be a way more fulfilling ending to see President Kumiko lead the band to victory just before graduating at the end of the S3 we're hopefully getting.

Where does everyone live that this is screening near you? All in the US?

stop watching tranny shows.

I don't know what I'm looking forward to more: the movie, or all the new gifs and webms once it comes out on BD.

>falling face down with your clothes on into your bed from exhaustion
Kumiko is literally me

Does your cactus ever talk back?

Ultimatemegax quit caring about Hibike (on paper) because he knew his ship has sunk in the most recent book.

You spelled Asukaori wrong

Asuka doesn't want a loser like Kaori

Someone hasn't read the novels.

>kept telling all his followers not to worry because Kumiko and Shuuihci break up
>lie that Kumiko didnt say to Shuuichi she wants to get back together later
>final novel comes out and Kumiko and Shuuichi obviously got back together
>"I'm taking a break from talking about Hibike Euphonium"
yeah I'd go into hiding if I needed to do that much damage control

Attached: updog.png (634x586, 298K)

I heard something about Kaori having unrequited feelings. Thought it was just /u/ fag delusions.

More like it made /u/ angry
It was pretty good, but I wouldn't say it was a good "Finale", so I'm glad they're giving it a continuation which hopefully will be a 3rd season

Attached: Hibike-Chiaki.jpg (1920x700, 441K)

It baffles me they thought it was gonna go full Yuri. The source material is not yuri, yes it has yuri bait in but nowhere near as much as kyo shoved it in, but it did. The source material is actually het.

Are Kyoani planning on adapting the final novel after finale?

They needed to start setting it up for the endgame. Shuuichi plays a much bigger leadership role in the third book with Kumiko that culminates in them rekindling their relationship. Its so important that its impossible to cut out without drastically changing the story unlike in previous books.

Yeah they already announced it. They didn't announce whether it was a movie or a third season though.

Does Shoe even have a personality? What makes him remotely worthy of Kumiko?

I want Kumiko and Shuichi to have a baby

his big dick

But user, two girls can't have babies!

She loves Shoe and not you.

Don't be an animeonly secondary and discover it yourself

Really, I don't know how someone can see a friendship in their relationship. It's very clear what they intended to do.
So now friends exchange their underwear? And you look your face friend super close while you tell that you love them? Do you get jealous because someone else has physical contact with your friend? Do you spend every day flirting with your friend and go to dates while you ignore your partner?

You have not read the novel, so stop talking out of your ass.
Takeda just like Kyoani has been baiting us and teasing the yuri ship. If not ask yourself why they break? They really didn't have a reason to break up, but back then liz and the blue bird was screening in theaters. This way they drag 1 year more the main yuri pairing.

>They didnt have a reason to break up
clearly you didn't read the novels because Kumiko broke up with Shuuichi because she had to be the president. There wasn't any time for relationships, she made the decision to put the club over her own happiness which is why she was crying when she did it.

>They really didn't have a reason to break up
Kumiko is indecisive, unsure of how this whole dating thing is supposed to work, and afraid that she will ruin the memory of their childhood friendship if their relationship doesn't work out. As soon as a convenient excuse presents itself ("Too busy with the band"), she bails out and seeks comfort with Reina, who she knows will never want anything more complicated than emotional intimacy from her.

Says someone who clearly has not read the novels...
Even Niiyama sensei is left open the possibility that she was gay for Taki's wife.

Here nobody has ever posted the date of Kumiko and Reina in the amusement park.
After spending a romantic moment they share this verbal exchange. A very normal chat between friends huh?
>Kumiko wa Reina no mono datta. Reina mo Kumiko dake no mono datta.

And here people still thinking about this pretended to be a close friendship.
N O, Kyoani AND Takeda know what they are doing. Stop justifying this shit.

Attached: kumireinovel5.png (408x1340, 123K)

An excuse that does not really make any sense. If you want to believe it, believe it. They live in the same building, go to the same school and go to the same band. And keep in mind that in the anime they almost talked. The reason why they break has nothing to do with the story itself and deep down, you know it, but fool yourself everything you want.
>why she was crying when she did it.

If you never say to your friends that you love them, it means you don't have friends, but that's your problem

>An excuse that does not really make any sense.
We know that, and Kumiko probably knows deep down that Shuuichi sees through it, but she needs that excuse so she won't have to face her own cowardice. In the long arc of the story, it serves as one of her personal low points, and as damage that she will have to repair by learning to be more honest and more responsible.

It amazes me sometimes how many anons can't pick up on basic storytelling techniques used in a show aimed at teenagers.

> seeks comfort with Reina, who she knows will never want anything more complicated than emotional intimacy from her.
yeah yeah...
1. B-because according to you the emotional one is better to carry than the physical.
2. Exchanging bottomwear, holding hands, sticking to each other, touching their hair, touching their feet under the table, hugging, flirting, etc... It's just emotional and nothing physical for you.

Just friendly reminder that Kumiko spends the whole novel series lusting about girl tits, girl tighs, girl skin and lusting about Reina in general. But I suppose if you are too biased with your selfinsert ship, you will pretend that all this doesn't exist.
I don't care, you can enjoy your idyllic romance but don't expect many people to read this in the same way as you, because even if you omit the parts that don't interest you, they are there too.

Kumiko? More like Cumiko.

Then she realized that Reina is always lusting for Taki's cock

Why is Kumiko's taste in men so bad?

Everyone in the book admired Reina's physical appearance. Are they all Reina's fuck buddy now?

Surely I have many more friends than you, and the truth is, I have similar friendship relationships in those shown in eupho, so, I can tell you that there are limits. OF COURSE I tell them that I love them, but not like in the related pic. Because if you have friends and VERY close, you will know well that this can lead to misunderstandings. Plus because you are simply comfortable at these distances when you know that with this person you have physical intimacy, and don't worry that this can get to something physical.
But it's clear for me that people who don't have experience in relationships believe these fantasies.

Attached: frienship_according_shanimebib.jpg (1280x720, 54K)

You're assuming a lot there. A big part of what I like about Hibike is that the relationships are too messy, too real and too complicated to be read as "ships". This is roughly how I read KumiRei: They have a lot of sensual physical contact, but from what I remember, Kumiko is usually the one who initiates it, except when Reina craves emotional support. We don't see Reina's internal monologue, so her motivations are a bit more mysterious, but I got the impression that she got more physical as she learned that Kumiko is into that. Whether Reina sees it as sexual is left open to interpretation, but Kumiko clearly does, and they both clearly get something emotional out of it.

>implying

Attached: 7D38E772-5C7D-43CA-852D-1EFB9ED68185.jpg (768x1066, 149K)

The reason here is because Takeda is gay. But we are talking about Kumiko.

Why does Kumiko taste so great?

Attached: 1477855315785.png (600x697, 593K)

I kinda want to, even though I've never seen the show, but it says it has a recap in the beginning. But the only showing is in a "bad" neighborhood and I don't have time to be roasted by them so It's a no from me.

Shuichi x Kumiko x Reina threesome when

>Kumiko is usually the one who initiates it
NANI??? But it's Reina, Reina usually the one that initiates most of the physical contacts.
As the novels are narrated and as they are represented in the anime, it's perfectly clear that none of them is silly ...

What a fucking chad

If you don't know moon, don't make it like you understand...

Not really.

Kumiko doesn't like to share her bf.

If they're clearly in love like the novels say why arent they dating? Because its yuribait. Theres even gayer scenes than the amusement park in the final novel where Kumiko straight confess her love to Reina and yet Kumiko dates Shuuichi.

"Kumiko is worse than Mayu because Taki sensei says so."

or "(If you doubt Taki sensei), you are not qualify to be the club president."

Very gay comments from Reina

Why do so many posters here insist that every story should have either 100% het or 100% yuri couples with a straightforward happy ending, otherwise it's "bait"? That's not how romance works in real life, and would make for pretty boring fiction.

1.5 more hours anons. My mom, who has seen all the series as well, is coming with me.
Her and I both agree that Reina is the best girl.

Based mom.

1. Normalfags who can't into not giving a fuck about corporate shilling and accepting that best pair is best pair regardless of canonicity
2. Anti-/u/fags who want to feel morally superior and smarter for not being "baited"

Hibike has always been a realistic series and no character exists purely to fulfill male fantasies, they could all be actual teenage girls.
Yuri is not possible in that scenario. It is a pure male fantasy completely detached from real love. Hibike strives to be realistic and yuri is not real. Anyone who thinks otherwise really did get baited, baited hard.

Now THIS is bait.

>/u/shitters still mad
nice

>best girl
>not kumiko

Attached: Kumiko-hopeless.gif (705x383, 3.46M)

They're probably going to see the movie anyway, honestly I'm half expecting a yurifag heckler at this point. I hope no fights break out.

Yeah, I know... This is what I intend to transmit.
Eupho is designed in this way, both the novels and the anime. Clearly the yuribait is the reason why Takeda chooses dumb moves about Shuuichi relationship that don't make any sense if you think about it. And realistically speaking, shuukumi romantic relationship doesn't make any sense, even if you want to believe that it does. Just like the close friendship relationship of Kumirei.

That's kinda cute, but is right. Kumiko is top fluff.

I sincerely hope some of you people actually go and see this so you can form your own opinions on it. Hibike threads have been nothing but shitposting since the movie came out because you are all so stupid you any claim about it as fact. And the second the movie aired shitposters came in to shitpost the series to oblivion with exaggerated claims that you all ate up.

Do these dorks have any scenes in the movie?

Attached: autistacc.jpg (1000x1412, 132K)

I live where the sun don't shine and movies don't air.

Most of the shitposting relies on misinformation, so it only works because most of Yea Forums hasn't seen the movie yet. We'll probably get peaks of actual discussion shortly after the screenings, the first fansub, and as translations of the new novels trickle in.

Because the series itself tells you that one thing is love and the other friendship but they represent it in reverse.
And eupho PRETENDS to be real, but it really is a trainwreck that doesn't make sense.

>I hope no fights break out.
Bring a camera just in case. Gotta dab on these /u/seless fags and put their autism on youtube.

Exactly. Thats why I hope some people here actually go out and see it. It was a good movie and the stuff with shoe really isnt worth having a mental breakdown over.

Are you the same user who insisted in earlier threads that real people always have strict boundaries between romance and friendship? The whole point of Eupho's depiction of relationships is that people often blur and confuse the two. Because yes, that happens in real life. A lot.

>real people always have strict boundaries between romance and friendship? The whole point of Eupho's depiction of relationships is that people often blur and confuse the two
From a guy's perspective toward a female, maybe? Girls always assign a guy as a friend or not right away, there is no fuzzy shit, period.
And girls do not want relationships with other girls. Yuri is not real. Real-life lesbians are fucked up obese weirdos, not pure angelic schoolgirls.

You might want to spend less time on /r9k/ and more time with real people. This is the worldview of a shut-in.

>the stuff with shoe really isnt worth having a mental breakdown over.
you say this like Kumiko and Shuuichi dating is a bad thing

I like Shuiichi and Kumiko treating him bad was one of the hardest things to watch. Reminded me of girls fucking around with my feelings in my own school days. I'm glad they get together.

Why it's Hibikek and not Amanchu that caused such a b/u/ttdevastation?
Amanchu was way more brutal in that aspect with shota love interest.

Same.

well that was one of the reasons they broke up in the first place. Kumiko knew she was treating him terribly all year while Shuuichi might as well have been Buddha with his patience. I don't think she was ever ready to be in a relationship but Shuuichi threw her a fastball and she said yes without thinking it through

This and
This, are not exclusive, you know?

You can love friends, you fucking /u/fag

>ctrl+f bait 11 matches

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder

I'm excited to see Kumiko on the big screen, regardless if it's the het trainwreck people are saying it is.

Attached: kumiko_happy.png (752x656, 711K)

One of the important growth moments for her as that she learns how to be the type of person who can be in a relationship, and thats demonstrated by her dating Shuuichi through university and beyond.

Everyone who has actually seen it seems to like it. I hope you have fun!

It's today for the sub screening and July 15 for the dub.

Thanks user, I definitely will, because any Kumiko is a good Kumiko in my eyes.

Attached: kumiko_reading.png (602x644, 355K)

Not me. I think nothing is white or black but I can see what Takeda and Kyoani have done with eupho.

>Something doesn't stop being bait just because you like it.
fix it for you.

I just want Kumiko to be happy with the guy she loves!

Jusy curious; did the movie actually flop? I've seen anons posting a few times saying it has. If so why? Seems like a fun move, I'm looking forward to seeing it when of if I can.

>and thats demonstrated
during a timeskip?
So, one of the important growth moments of Kumiko happens in a timeskip. Ok Shanimebib, whatever you say....

This doesn't explain the yuribait. I do not know why you insist on pretend as it does not exist.

Salesfags are retarded. To know how it well did, we'd have to compare how much it made compared to other movies in the same niche with similar distribution, how much they invested it compared to how much revenue it made, etc. We don't have most of those numbers, so they can only compare it to random other anime.

Ah that makes sense. Cheers user.

We are not talking about the movie but about the latest novel.
If people are angry or disappointed it's because the yuribait. I don't know why here user tries to justify the relationship with Shoe if that is not the point. This is not about Shoe and not about your selt insert fetish.

i think eyeless senpai and kouhai beat those two

Pretty much this.

responding to the wrong person senpai

Can't have done that bad if Kyoani's giving it a continuation

the movie is english dubbed already?

>10 minute recap

It made less than even Yamada's arthouse passion sideproject, so yes, we can assume it was a flop.

Attached: Liz_to_Aoi_Tori-cover-thumb.jpg (225x318, 25K)

that just means yamada was the better director. Also it's a movie for a show with a season 2, people went going to just walk in for this. Liz and Blue Bird specifically chose not to be associated with the Euphonium name

>The whole point of Eupho's depiction of relationships is that people often blur and confuse the two. Because yes, that happens in real life. A lot.
This happens a lot in real life, agreed.
>This is the whole point of Eupho.
No, it's not. It's clear that you are a boy who does not know how relationships between girls work.
And in eupho the line is not blur, it's overstep.
That's only strictly speaking about the novel. Why then can you explain to me that Kyoani wants to tell us with the red thread?

Attached: Invaq3A.jpg (1280x6480, 971K)

Although many people say that it's Violet, the truth is Kyoani passion project is Hibike.

Yep, you're the same person from before. You seem to assume that your experiences with relationships are universal. I know at least two lesbian couples IRL who started out as "ambiguously best friends", and who might have acted a lot like Kumiko and Reina if they had met in high school, before they figured out what they wanted out of a relationship.

You are a narcissist.

No eye girl got a boyfriend btw.

Kill yourself brainlet.

Why on earth would you think this was going to be some fag show?

>baby making sex
Surely you meant having ntr sex with with an old bald man. Consensual sex in the missionary positiion for the sole purpose of reproduction, while holding hands is just obscene

1.These two characters during 2 seasons barely interacted
2. They hinded that the girl was not interested in guys and possibly had a crush on her now best friend.
3. The movie is not about their relationship. The forced relationship exists but it's not even the focus.

Any word on whether Americans are getting these as well?

>Kumiko, looking at the starry sky reflected in Reina's eyes.

My question...
Why do we have such moments between Kumiko and Reina but not with Kumiko and Shuuichi if their relationship with him is so important?

Shit that's pretty hot

we do have those moments though, it's these scenes where we actually have Kumiko acting like a normal girl who is in love instead of someone with a thesaurus

Attached: Screenshot_20190711-195653_Lithium.jpg (1063x709, 236K)

Best girls indeed.

None so blind as those who will not see.

I didn't.

another one where Kumiko starts thinking lewd thoughts just because Shuichi is holding her hand

as an actual lesbian I recently binge watched s1 & s2 and I have to laugh at anyone who seriously thought this would have a yuri end. with all the bitching and moaning about it, I was expecting it to have actual yuri, but it was barely gay at all. everything shipperfags pull out as "proof" is pretty clearly meant in a platonic way in-context. the people complaining about it are delusional fetishists. Kumiko and Asuka had more chemistry than Kumiko and Reina.

with that said, I really enjoyed it as a comfy SOL/adolescence story and I hope it gets a s3

I know. There are some moments like this, but they pale in comparison.

As a fellow lesbian, I agree.

They make her date a guy but they never show her actually interested in him or give any development to their relationship

How is this wrong? Jesus you'd admitting YOU spend less time with real people, since this is true.

as an actual straight girl I recently binge watched s1 & s2 and I have to laugh at anyone who seriously thought this would have a hetshit end. with all the bitching and moaning about it, I was expecting it to have actual hetshit, but it was barely hetero at all. everything shipperfags pull out as "proof" is pretty clearly meant in a platonic way in-context. the people complaining about it are delusional fetishists. Kumiko and Asuka had more chemistry than Kumiko and Shoe.

with that said, I really enjoyed it as a comfy SOL/adolescence story and I hope it gets a s3

>I'm a lesbian, I telling you. I'm a real lesbian and I says so.
Ok, next.

Reina is and has always been for Taki you delusional whales. She tells you this the first season, why would you ignore her love?

Kumiko gets more aroused by Reina's presence than physical contact with shoe

Well since lesbians don't actually real, and they're just mentally challenged degenerates.
It's good anime denounces such faggotry without pretending it's okay to be a dyke with an inferiority complex to men that will kill herself in her 20's.

As a fellow straight girl, I agree.

Who the hell is "they" didn't know they put a gun to her head.

>anyone who seriously thought this would have a hetshit end
but they start dating in the movie, doesnt that make you the one who is wrong?

Attached: 20190429_001145.jpg (1642x1080, 536K)

They break up though

How did this series attract so many nutcases? Was it really the yuribaiting?

Pretty much this.

and got back together

The writers you big dummy

Attached: 1560601285113.jpg (546x490, 56K)

Ah an anime only. They get back together. Sorry.

Do you even know the context or are you just blindly repeating what that one assblasted tranny on twitter kept going on about when this movie was announced.

It clearly said in the LN they broke up, with a promise to get back together later

They got back together user.

To be fair, it's not that we're crazy, it's the series are broken.

Yes and they get back together in the final novel.

Not really. A lot of slice of life function on their being a final point that gives the characters context for their actions. It can and often is very simple (graduation, namely) but truly finality-less slice of lifes are rare.

Yes the "writers" forced her into a normal relationship, the ones who created the story.
But ohnonono it was secretly gay all along, according to speculation of people who DIDN'T write the story, is that what you're telling me? Well consider me convinced.

Yeah being alone with your friend in the park holding hands and saying you love her is a very normal friend-like thing to do.

Do Taki and Reina become a thing?

No.

>Write a lesbian
>call her straight
Why do japanese do this?

Attached: 1559806000007.png (1360x877, 2.03M)

>so mad he made pasta
bon appetit faggot

doubtful but I'll assume sincerity, I haven't met a single lesbian who ships Kumiko and Reina. the only girl I know who shipped it is a "bisexual" who's never dated or fucked another woman in her life, aka a fetishist. I understand wanting to have more well written "representation" in media but coming from a practical dyke perspective I don't think Reina and Kumiko have any chemistry at all.

Reina goes to an America university on a literal training arc and says she'll come back as a woman and confess to Taki sensei but she's never heard from again

As a straight girl I want to make clear that me and my straight friends do stuff like this ALL the time.

Attached: 1558851144475.jpg (850x1063, 145K)

Cute and canon

is this real?

did they fuck?

She gave him a footjob.

Shouldn't we just stop pretending dykes are people like the rest of the world so these mistakes stop happening?

No, Taki and Kaori are

Attached: 1536535846026.jpg (760x631, 27K)

she does? is this another case of kyoani bumping the yuribait? they are always lezzing it up in the background

Eupho is gay as fuck. Not only Kumiko but everyone around her.
>Author writes 200 gay moments between girls. 60 of which is the protagonist with her "friend".
>Author writes 15 het moments (included the end one) with her "boyfriend" .Which 5 of them are bittersweet and the other 10 are legit het but 70% less intense than with her "friend".
>and this way autor assures you that this is het.

and you as a good reader of your favorite author you believe it without thinking.

>indeed the end is het.
>but why 85% of the series is gay?

in short
This.

Like dogs in heat.

Yes. From the last novel.

Yes. She is dating Shoe's friend, Takizawa.

Cope harder /u/fag, obviously she hates men. Look at all that pure seething hate she has for his dick.

You mean for his hand.
I do not care about /u/ in hibikek and (You) should not care about het in hibikek.

That's pretty depressing though

Movie just ended, what did I think of it?

You thought Kumiko was extremely sexy

Attached: 1560477449738.jpg (1048x1654, 934K)

But user we here already are talking about the latest novel, not the movie.

Well you obviously do care as the point of showcasing is the fact that she has feelings for him.
Why else would this be written? Kicks and giggles? It's like trying to argue reality with people refusing what's in front of them and inserting their own.

Read again

>speculation
Neat, once again reality, the writers themselves, the final novel, and the passage linked above all show her as not a fag.

Ok. She do and think gay things here and there b-b-but she is not a fag. Kumiko the super het girl.

None here.

>het shit is actually Kumiko not reciprocating Shoe's feelings at all
>oboe solo was fucking awesome
>kumiko being based and becoming band captain at the end

All the shitposting for this?

Attached: kumiko_what.png (332x636, 251K)

>oboe solo was fucking awesome
Ok, now I'm hyped.

Was about to say. Oboe-chan didn't spoke a single qord and stole the show

well yes, Mizore is blowing this every night

Attached: 1554405811859.jpg (1158x2048, 147K)

It really wrapped up the Liz and the Blue Bird side story wonderfully. It was pretty damn good.

The performance was awesome but i wish there had been a bit more music along the way

Just saw the movie.
Kumiko and Shuiici go on a date to a festival.
Kumiko says to Shuiichi: There are too many things going on at once. Take this hairpin thing back. Once all of this is over (or next year, can't remember which she said) you can give it to me again.
It's over /u/ fags. They're in a relationship and they're being good role models by focusing on what's more important at this time in their lives. Any hope for an animeonly deviation from the novels, where they are in a relationship and in college at the end, is gone.
The movie was great for the most part. The big performance was amazing and totally cashed in on Liz & the Blue Bird, you guys are going to love it.
The first-years were the weak point. The new eupho player Kanade was a complete cunt and served no purpose in the story other than to cause problems.

I'm with the previous poster. You've never actually watched this show at all, have you?

Attached: 1314419527593.jpg (126x106, 3K)

So technically they didn't break up but also did?

It's called "taking a break."

It's open ended, but based on the novels, it's really not. In any case, it was an entirely expected outcome to any motivated young couple.

Also just left the movie.

The new eupho player was a cunt but I liked how she fucked with Kumiko. Seeing our MC get kouhais shows how far she's come.
Sapphire is totally getting that manlet dick. Good for them.
The seniors from last season needed more than short cameos.
Seeing Liz and the Bluebird in full concert mode was great.
Kumiko and Reina just come off as good friends, yurifaggotry aside.
Shoe has the patience of a saint.
This clearly felt like a season of TV crammed into a two hour movie. Each of the new kouhais would have gotten an episode or two each.
Is there any guarantee of a S3 or last movie? I'd hate for Eupho to end on a note of defeat, realistic as it was.

I think Kumiko going out with Shoe was actually completely within her character, not wanting to push people away but not letting them too close either.

She didn't want to reject him after he confessed, but she rejected his advances afterward because she wasn't ready to commit.

In other news, Kaori was HOT as a college woman. So was Asuka but not as much.

Attached: __nakaseko_kaori_hibike_euphonium_drawn_by_fukuroumori__5655feca6dcf188cb96c4d90edd98bd4.png (817x1193, 1.14M)

>Is there any guarantee of a S3 or last movie?
Yes, there will be a continuation, but they haven't announced exactly what.

Did either Nozomi or Mizore even have lines in this movie?

I remember Kumiko having exactly one line in Liz.

It's those feet, man.

Kaori started slutting up once she left high school. Asuka was Asuka and Buchou was still Buchou, minus one pigtail.

None at all, even if they did show up a few times. I was a bit surprised, to be honest.

>So was Asuka

For Gods sake PIC please!

Did they hold hands?

>Kaori started slutting up once she left high school
And I don't blame all the guys hitting on her and getting to third base. That mole does things to me.

Sorry, I was enjoying the moment too much.

I didn't get sheyut

t. Franklin TN

They absolutely fucking did. They even had a damn close-up. Movie should have been rated R just for that scene.

asuka blowing that flute

trumpet*

This film felt clunky. Like they were trying to cover a ton of ground and couldn't take time for anything.

Liz & The Blue Bird was better for the opposite reason.

Attached: 1562647111404.png (1921x1080, 2.06M)

The source material is yuri subtext galore, and practically actual text at points. KyoAni might arguably have turned it up a bit, but they didn't create it out of nowhere.

Can we all agree the two on the left can get fucked?

And yet another Fathom that the theater forgot to start. From now on I am just going have everyone draw straws to be the "PLEASE START THE FUCKING MOVIE" Samaritan.

The last free merch I got was Fruits Basket.

By my dick, yes.

In all seriousness it would have been better as a TV series with more time to flesh out the new girls. I feel Mirie especially would have benefited.

Micchan was okay once she became less of a cunt

Attached: after credits scene.jpg (4032x3024, 385K)

Kanade takes care of Gatorade in her second year. Rip meritolocracy

They get back together in the final novel ,which is what the film, or series, they havent specified yet, after finale is covering. So not really opened ended. But in terms of this film yes you're right.

Kanade failed to make herself in the Kansai/National A team in her second year.

No one will argue that Liz was a better movie on a technical/artistic level, but it was great seeing Kumiko and company in action again. I'd forgotten how much I'd missed these characters.

If only they had an actual scene where she treated Hazuki to ice cream, everything would have been great.

>I'd forgotten how much I'd missed these characters.
Same. I'm excited for the continuation, even if we do eventually have to say goodbye.

Are you just taking pictures? Or are you based enough to be recording?

Nah I snapped a few pix for myself. I don't do camrips. The imbecile controlling the interface decided the best way to deal with starting it a half hour late was to scroll through the direct tv menu for a half hours worth of footage while leaving an ad up on the screen. Clusterfuck.

Attached: not much of a pictar.jpg (4032x3024, 633K)

Need to get myself one of those outfits the guys were wearing during the marching band bit.

Shit man, I'm sorry to hear that. I had mine at an AMC, so it was a standard movie experience.

I had planned to go to a different theater but changed it a few hours before hand. Should have trusted my instincts. Even worse there was a gaggle of SCREECHING girls who did not but yell and LOOLLOLOLOLOOLLO. They did leave about half way through after screaming "WHY ARE WE WATCHING THIS WHAT IS THIS EVEN ABOUT".

Pic nevar related.

Attached: MUH WIFE.jpg (3024x4032, 882K)

Now that the dust has settled i wish they just did a season 3 instead. Also not sure if all the "/u/ fags" are just baiting but if not the seething is satisfying.

*did nothing but yell and

Anime seasons are expensive and require a significant commitment of time.
KyoAnus instead decided "Sound! Ephonium the Movie: Oath's Finale" would better suit that filler-ish style of this arc.

This movie was really boring, the drama has never been this overblown, characters appear only to disappear, there’s a whole bunch of filler, the new characters are bad, and then they lose harder than they’ve lost before.
Big disappointment. I liked S1 and Liz, but this had all the problems I had with S2 only amplified. Granted some of my ill feelings are due to thinking this was going to be more of a finale and wondering why nothing is ever resolved by the end.

B-but that concert was nice, right?

Yes very.

>kumiko rejecting shoe
AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry to hear it. My theater was almost empty.

You do know they get back together right you fuck wit?

But Yamada will correct everything

Damn. My theater was about half full of quiet well-behaved young men, about half of whom were alone.

IT DOESN'T MATTER
Right after she rejected him, whom did she meet and share an indirect kiss with? THAT"S RIGHT, REINA

Hetfags backed the fuck up

Attached: __kousaka_reina_and_oumae_kumiko_hibike_euphonium_and_etc_drawn_by_maruko_tatsunari__9869d239792bac2 (8598x6079, 2.96M)

What? No.... they're following the source material. They get back together at the end of the last novel which is what the next film is based on.

Loved the music in that scene.

>the state of /u/fags
For real though, that was a very sweet scene.

Yeah no. Read this; . Any chance of a yuri or anime only deviation isnt happening. They get back together in the final novel which the next series or movie is adapting. I'm not even a hetfag I'm just not delusional.

Did I see Midori from Tamako twirling in there?

Attached: dera.gif (500x280, 784K)

> She doesn't care about him at all. She doesn't even treat him nicely.

The things is... if people really paid attention to the way relationships are depicted in the show, instead of just focusing on the yuribait scenes (which are very cute and wholesome, ngl), they would notice that it has been hinted so many times that Kumiko actually likes Shuuichi.

There are a lot of moments in which the Shuuichi subtext is present, be it Reina constantly teasing Kumiko about if she does likes him or not, Kumiko getting sad when Hazuki took Shuichi away or Kumiko coming back to her senses during the announcement of the participants only after hearing Shuichi's name or her having a conversation with her pot plant to verify is she really feels that way about Shuuichi.

The fact of the matter is that Kumiko does care about Shuuichi but their relationship is very similar to the ones Kumiko has with both Asuka and her sister. Two people who we learn she deeply loves and cares about. The show makes quite clear that this more about Kumiko struggling to deal with letting people get close to her rather than just hating these people. This also mean that Shuuichi is one of the few people that gets to see the real Kumiko and not the facade she puts up for the people she admires and idolizes.

> They had like...2 or 3 scenes in the entire anime together

And for the second argument which is Shuuichi's screentime or lack of thereof...

First of all, Shuuichi was a more focal character than Reina for the first half of season 1 and consistently had scenes interacting with Kumiko. Heck he was even part of 2 of the biggest moments for Kumiko in the entire series which are the bridge scene and him being the main reason why Kumiko and her sister are back on good terms.

Also, the main focus of this series isn't romance. This is a coming of age story about people learning who they are, trying to achieve their goals while forming deep bonds with the people around them. Romance is just one type of relationship out of many you can form during adolescense. So I'm not surprised that the girlxgirl dynamics had more time to develop and shine since is completely natural for girls to form deeper bonds with other girls than with boys at this stage of their youth.

Finally, this isn't me denying the possibility of Kumiko and Reina (Or Asuka which I believe has more ground to be a real ship) working as a romantic relationship. Is just my believe that the series portrays complex feelings without explicitly stating them. A lot of the stuff is ambiguous and left up for interpretation.

Does Kumiko like Reina? Does she like Shuuichi? Maybe she likes Asuka? Is she straight, gay, bisexual or just confused? At the end of the day Kumiko is just a young girl going through the motions of growing up, with a lot of development left to do both physically and emotionally. To me that's the main draw of the series.

based and truthpilled

Attached: IMG_2535.gif (270x270, 930K)

>First of all, Shuuichi was a more focal character than Reina for the first half of season 1 and consistently had scenes interacting with Kumiko.
Kumiko's entire character early in the series focused on her complicated feelings for both Reina and suibu in general (which Reina's character tacitly represented).

Kanade literally exists for the ending. It’s expected since what went down in season 1 and 2.

I haven’t watched Liz and BB, but does it cover what happens to them during this movie?

So what is Kumiko’s future actually going to be? It’s a question that’s been asked many times, but it doesn’t seem to get answered.

>hinted so many times that Kumiko actually likes Shuuichi.
Of course it is. I'm not saying it isn't, or that she doesn't. It's just that the yuri subtext is definitely there too, and it's not mere bait.

>and it's not mere bait.
No, it is bait.
Please, Yea Forums. Please learn how to use this word correctly.

Attached: 1421509323744.jpg (330x400, 37K)

Yes, it is indeed a topic that is constantly touched on but never seems to be fully developed. However, I believe the movie is a good step in that direction seems it depicts a transition from Kumiko the kouhai, the first year student who looks up to her senpais to a more active and determined version of herself. I'm sure that the 3rd year will bring more development in that regard and I hope we can get a more significative answer at the end of the story

This was my problem as well.

First it was spring...and then summer....and then the the festival.

Holy fucking shit, I've seen recap films that takes their time slower than this. Hell, I think there were moments in the film where I completely forgot Shu and Kumi were dating because you don't see them together that often (excluding the festival).

>and I hope we can get a more significative answer at the end of the story
But the story is already over.

Is bait in the sense that neither the source material nor the series director have the intention to translate the girlxgirl interactions into a real romantic relationship.

This doesn't deny the possibility of Kumiko having romantic feelings for her fellow students, be it Reina or Asuka in the same way is hinted that she likes Shuuichi despite their akward dynamic. It's is more about "Yuri" being equal to the expectation of a meaningful romantic interaction between the girls that is able to develop into more than just a close friendship.

In that regard, such a thing doesn't exist in Hibike since Kumiko's feelings are not part of a romantic subplot. They are developed as a way for her to learn who she is and exploring those feelings is just a way to advance the natural progression of the show's narrative.

Movie was really good. Liz really is a powerful piece.

>Liz sounds absolutely amazing
>they win championships but don’t get to Nationals for some reason
I just don’t get it. What are the top three like? They must be incredible to listen to as well. Are they just prestigious schools?

Oh you were talking about the novels? Well the future for Kumiko is that she becomes a teacher and keeps leading younger generations to fulfill their dreams while still being involved with music

I know that.

Guess I'm the only one who liked the Shu and Kumiko scenes. In general, the cast interactions were great. Also, Kanade was so mischievous but so cute. Her demeanor is also kinda erotic.

I really don't care. Does Haruka fuck? Now you're talkin'.

Attached: 1478735810669.jpg (1280x720, 49K)

They didn't show it. Maybe it's in the OST. I'm fine with that.

At least yours remembered to turn the lights out.

youtu.be/TBK418yxh0k
Damn right. This whole part was mesmerizing in a good quality theatre.

You're not alone mate. I thought they were great. But I have to say I'm glad that they decided to put their relationship on hold. (Well, more on Kumiko's side).

I think it's better for their relationship to be developed in a full season rather than a single film.

LMAO this gif.

You clearly understand nothing about Kaori and are just spouting your wishful thinking. Kaori was the most conservative out of the three, and would be the least likely to turn into a slut after high school. (unless slut to you means "getting a boyfriend") However, it also helps to note that she was also the gayest of the three, but we know how far that ship sails in this series.

By that measure, a staggering amount of lesbian literature is yuri bait too, and almost every shounen romance title in manga history is het bait. It's not a meaningful measure or a meaningful term, really.

Anyone else kinda felt that Yuuko and Natsuki deserve at least an OVA? I really liked that added part where Yuuko broke down ane Natsuki was comforting her. I would really watch a spinoff of these two.

Nice.

Attached: kiki 30.jpg (4032x3024, 1.05M)

The was an older couple that sat behind me and talked the whole time.

The main difference being that these do get a payoff being said characters starting a romantic relationship of one of them being rejected. In the case of Hibike we get hint after hint and the subtext is there but it doesn't lead anywhere.

Anyways I don't watch Hibike for the ships. I personally believe than caring more about the possible romantic implications rather than han music/drama/coming of age/personal journey parts of the story is pretty much missing the entire point of the show.

I never got shit from Fathom Events screenings except a shitty poster for Gundam toys from Gundam NT.

I only got 2 clearfiles from AX. One for the screening and the panel. I wish they gave out something like in Liz or Silent Voice.

Your wife is dead and Pancreas hit me like a brick. Fuck that movie.

I would've rather seen this show handling the gay subtext the way Banana Fish did. But is still an awesome show regardless. Kumiko being Straight, bi or gay doesn't take away from that.

Fuck you man, I liked that movie.

What did they give out in Liz and Silent Voice? I missed both those screenings, unfortunately.

The movie was good overall, but I hated the "twist" and the timing at which the twist happened.

Ishihara explained at AX that he changed the ending to be more realistic, in that making nationals is truly extraordinary and won't happen every year, and to emphasize that winning isn't everything and the real prize was they friends they made along the way.

>The main difference being that these do get a payoff being said characters starting a romantic relationship of one of them being rejected.
So, so many of them don't.

>Anyways I don't watch Hibike for the ships.
Neither do I, but it'd be wrong to say they're not an element or that one of the potential ships that has a ton of subtext doesn't count because it's not explicitly resolved.

Yeah Pancreas beat the shit out of me.

Attached: 12a.jpg (4032x3024, 872K)

Did he explain the bullshit with the other team not entering the regional competition but competing for a spot in the nationals?

I don't get it. If they got gold but didn't make it to national...then are they basing nationals on a different requirement scale or what?

Kumiko laughing while she was running was the best part of the film.

Did you speed watch the first five minutes of the first goddamned episode?

I got a full color magazine in moonspeak for sv. Too tired to take pic.

Love is so short, forgetting is so long.

This was for the regular screening earlier this year, right? Or for a premiere that happened at an earlier date/during a convention?

Attached: kuyashi.gif (400x300, 134K)

Huh? What we saw in the movie was the Kansai regional competition.

chad

The feet are nice.

Absolutely based and Kumikopilled.

It was during the US screening but at a non chain theater. Same place I got Fruits Basket and other free stuff. Stole this from the web but this is the one I got.

Attached: koe-katachi-silent-voice.jpg (1213x1080, 153K)

Yeah, and the team that went to the nationals didn't compete for the regional trophy only for a spot in the nationals. Kumiko said this to her parents during breakfast. That team never enters for the regional trophies.

youtube.com/watch?v=T1l9hsLo2Qg

Fuck, I'm even more mad for missing it now. It was an Eleven Arts screening and those are usually at non-chain or small chain theaters. That's part of the reason why I missed it.

It's funny I don't sell any of this stuff but I had friends offering me $200.00 crypto for the Fruit's Basket set and $150.00 for this book. I was like "naw just go to the movies man".

DES

REEEE what does it say?!

I understood that scene to mean Ryusei tends not to score well enough to advance, not that they weren't competing.

That was years ago, how can I remember that?

lmaoooo dude I went with my mom too who has seen the entire series.
my mom: asuka is mean
also my mom: kumikos hair looks like ice cream

To jog your memory then: Gold is a prerequisite for advancing to the next stage of competition, not synonymous with advancing to the next stage of competition. You need to win Gold to advance, but not everyone who wins Gold advances.

I remember her explicitly saying that they never enter to compete for local trophies.

I wish I could go back to a time where I can feel this passionately about extracurricular activities regardless of how useful they are in the real world. Haven't opened my Saxophone case in almost half a decade.

Wait what? The sub was today, my guy

The fact Reina did not show up too much in the movie is a travesty.

Is this pasta? Because if so, it's pretty good.
And if not, even better.

No arguments here. It's what I thought about it from the start.

Why do you people care so much about this e-celeb

This sounds like a cuckold's sentence, not gonna lie.

Not everyone has to self-insert, my man. Some people just want characters to be happy.

why do you people care so much about this person who's doing all of the translating that no one else wants to do

He does it only when it caters to his /u/ agenda anyway

I never said that any specific ship doesn't count ( See and) I just pointed out how the "Kumiko hasn't shown any type of interest in Shuuichi" narrative can be easily proven wrong by just watching the show and paying attention to more than just the girlxgirl relationships in the series. The subtext differs with the Kumiko x Reina or Kumiko x Asuka dynamics but it's also there.

I also agree that the romantics subplots aren't the main driving force of the series narrative. Thus why they are purposely left ambiguous for the viewers to draw their own conclusions.

I mean... you just need to actually pay attention to notice these things but i guess the cute girlxgirl scenes got a lot of people distracted, which I can't blame them for. They are indeed cute af.

Never disagreed with any of that, it's just that some user or other was giving the impression that if it doesn't explicitly result in a yuri relationship, it's bait and doesn't count for anything.

Ultimatemegax already reassures us that the movie is not a flop. Anyone saying otherwise is lying to you.

Attached: eupho numbers.png (636x1109, 300K)

Oh I see. I think all the relationship count since they the foundation in which Kumiko's character grows. And all of them have their own quirks.

BD when?

This year was different for them. They clearly had a new director who seemed responsible for their competitive success, just as Taki-sensei was in Kumiko's first year.

Probably in the Fall for Japanese BDs. Definitely after December for English ones.

Someone just tell me we get kumicute in the movie

Attached: cx4z0ztcqps11.png (1920x1080, 976K)

Definitely, while losing the 3rd years in S2 was pretty bad, seeing Kumiko as the president made me realize that "holy fuck, all the supporting cast is gone". Makes me really want a proper send-off for all the 2nd years, even the background characters.

apparently they go to the same college which is a surprise to no one

/u/ jumped on the wrong ship.

In short, yuribait.

Shhh. Don't say it so loudly or people will jump on you user lol.

Yeah. It makes me sad as well. A lot of the chatacters that helped Kumiko are no longer there. Maybe there will be something in the middle for Yuuko to give us some context on how it transitioned to Kumiko.

I got poster cards for both. I wish I got this.

I forgot I bought a ticket to see it last nigh t and missed the showing

So I'm going to see the dub version on Monday

Takeda writes in between volumes for every year, pic related is between year 1 and 2 so there could be one for between year 2 and 3 or even an epilogue volume to tie up loose ends like what happens to Reina or why Kumiko decided to become a teacher. It's kind of ironic when you think about it that Kumiko and Taki sensei are colleagues in the future.

None of this ever sees the anime though

>Natsuki getting flustered when Yuuko thanks her
My heart desu.

Hell, yes. I know it's not real life but how the fuck can a system have the resources for acquiring a contrabassoon? The fact that the euphoniums were all compensating was cool. Nice detail on that.

what did Asuka do in the movie and how did Kumiko react to seeing her girlfriend again?

She only showed up for a brief minute or so telling Kumiko she'll be listening. Other than that, her other mentions were flashbacks.

>this thread
>tl;dr
>Reina and Kumiko are so fucking gay for eachother, shoe self-insert cucks blown the fuck out
That's all.

>dates Kumiko
I mean anyone self inserting should be in heaven

Havent been keeping up with this in awhile. Dub?

My theater showed the dub instead of the sub. A few people instantly went out to say something but they never changed it. I complained at the end and got two free movie passes.

That's a good question. Same with the harp as well.
>compensating euphs
Were they? Natsuki still had the 4th valve in line with the rest of the valves. Also, Yamaha makes 3+1 euphs that are non-compensating. I wasn't paying attention during the movie, but the euphs Asuka and Kumiko played in the first couple of seasons didn't have any compensating tubing.

The movies are dubbed but the series isn't. Odd. I know

That's a serious fuck-up.
But you're right, the free movie passes do make it worthwhile, since there's a few more anime movies this year.

WAIT
How was Kumiko's actress? Reina? Shoe?
Cringy or decent?

Most theaters don't take passes for special events unfortunately.

tall short hair best girl

why was Kanade such a shit?

Maybe they will. This movie has a weird way of showing Azusa.

She was the embodiment of someone real. That's why. She overthought everything because she did her hardest only for a senpai to tell her to do it again even though she knew it would fail and it did fail. Kumiko even makes her cry just to make a point. Kumiko is rock cold. All in all, I hope they resolve Kanade in whatever continuation happens next because her life is going down the most dangerous path of all the characters.

Kumiko is so fucking cute holy shit

Welcome to 2015.

Especially during the Summer Festival. Peak Cute Kumiko. It was absolutely perfect although a bit shorter than I would have liked.

We do, but it's also a really serious Kumiko that I don't think I ever really noticed until it was pointed out. The movie for example was really tense for a lot of the parts.

Serious Kumiko is super cool as well. Incredibly underrated side of her as well.

Now that I think about it, why the utter fuck did Kumiko decided to volunteer to become a freshmen advisor? That seems oddly random.

I didn't understand this part of the movie. When did she even start doing that? It was like in the middle of the movie that it says she does that but I don't remember her ever doing anything aside from Kanade and her own contrabass. Is it just an offscreen thing?

I thought it just meant she was in charge of overseeing the new kids for her band section.

>2015

I hate getting old.

>Hibike was 2015
>We are still getting more anime even in 2020
it's the show that keeps giving

It does....so why did Kumiko volunteer for it. Or did she got forced into it? That part really isn't clear to me.

Missed the sub, now gonna have to watch it dub

I think Yuuko forces Kumiko into it. They're short on third years cause of the Nozomi incident

The dub actually isn't as awful as I was expecting- still doesn't nearly compare to the original though

Two seasons, two recaps, one spinoff movie, a sequel movie and still one more continuation to come
Feels good to be a eupho fan

did English Kumiko attempt to geh?

In the novels, Yuuko and Natsuki quietly start referring students to Kumiko for social advice, probably in part to get that work off their own backs, but also because they're basically grooming Kumiko as a possible new president.

Shit. That is sleezy.

Manipulative as hell, but they meant well. It was in the best interest of the band to have Kumiko resolve conflicts, and Kumiko will probably get a lot of valuable life experience of out playing prez. Just like Yuuko and Natsuki have learned a lot from being forced to work together, and just like Haruka learned a hard lesson about standing up for herself when she got tricked into becoming prez instead of Asuka. It seems to be tradition to troll the new prez and vice-prez into growing up very fast in their last year.

do you think Kumiko can carry season 3 by herself since Natsuki and the other 3rd years are all graduating?

Attached: tfw.jpg (464x730, 198K)

Asuka/Kaori and Minami 4 will make appearances in Kumiko's final year. And Asuka and Kaori's appearance is really important to Kumiko's journey

I feel Asuka told both of them to groom Kumiko and Shuuichi as president and vice president. Have no idea about why Reina become a drum major though because she can't deal with peers

so its The Last Jedi

Asuka picked Shuuichi because he balances out Kumiko since shes a spazz, Shuuchi acts as her rock. Same reason why she picked Natsuki as Yuuko's vice president, hot and cold dynamics.

Drum major is a newly created position to take some load off the prez and vice-prez now that the band has grown bigger. I got the impression that it's less social and more technical/administrative work, so it plays more to Reina's strengths.

Kumiko is also the president so she probably just wants to help her as much as she can

>hot and cold dynamics
That makes a lot of sense, especially if Asuka had a hand in it. It was the same with her and Haruka as well.

New thread

no bait

Nice bait, but also entirely expected.

Kumiko still has Reina, Shuuichi, Hazuki, Midori and Kanade to play off of. I just hope they flesh out the new bass section members and Yume and their relationships among each other, so the cast still feels like distinct circles of friends.

This gets me pretty hyped, at least.

>try to remain away from spotlight to have an easygoing band life, by being a cold, logical bitch by never getting too close but also never pushing people away
>end up being seen as reliable instead and tricked into more responsibilities
Fucking Kumiko

I hope it's another season instead of a movie for the finale. Movie would really kill the series, since it's far too little screentime for any significant impact.

Being Kumiko is suffering.
